If you use our tips and follow our advise, you're sure to have a good experience. So, let's get started!

Check your envelope size before you make your card.
If you are making your own card check you have an envelope that will fit the size your are planing to make.

Finding white or coloured envelopes the size you want might not be as easy or as cheap as you may think. There is nothing worse than making a lovely card to find the only envelope you can find that it will fit in is brown.

Don't be in a hurry, let it dry.
When using ink pads, ink pens and glue you are going to have to be a little careful. Some inks dry faster than others,if you work with a card with wet ink on it you are likely to accidentally smudge you beautiful work, move on to a different card and go back to it later to put the finishing touches in.

It's never as bad as you think.
Remember that your cards are hand made, they are not supposed to be perfect.

The effort involved in making a hand made card gives them meaning. It is so much nicer to receive a hand made card.

Keep it simple.
Simple cards are just as effective. Don't feel you have to make complicated cards.

Try not to mix stickers with stamps.
When using stickers to make cards be careful about adding ink stamp art to the card, as the two together do not always complement each other.

Use colours that contrast with their backgrounds so they can be seen.
When making cards it sometimes looks nicer if you put your picture, sticker or stamp on a cut out shape of coloured card that contrasts and compliments your picture.
For example if you are using a dark blue background a pale blue or pale yellow card shape stuck on the front with your design on may set off the picture and make it look more interesting.

Other peoples tastes vary to your own.
If you design a card and you are not sure if it looks quite right, or you think that others will not like it, do not worry, there is always someone out there who it will appeal to.
Place the card to one side, you can always ask someone's else's opinion or go back to it and change it at a later date.

Texas Hold''em Poker Starting Hands

Will Win 2008-03-25
Title: Texas Hold''em Poker Starting Hands
Many first-time Poker players think that when the river card flops down, that's where you win or lose the hand. But, that's just no so. No, winning or losing the hand begins with your first two cards.

In fact, many losing poker players could turn around their fortunes just by playing their first two cards better. Poker is full of all sorts of things you need to learn, but learning how to play your starting hand is perhaps the most important. Unless you're on the blinds, you get a free look at your possibility for the hand.

Your first two cards and the action before you determines if it's time to jump in or bail out. Over the rest of this article, I'll present some random hands to help you better understand what types of starting hands are good to play and when. If you're new to game, there's one word I want you to learn-tight. Your play should be very tight.

Starting Hand: AA or KK

This is a great hand to get. You're already a leg up on the other players most of the time. Generally, you want to hit the pot strong. More experienced players will sometimes “bait” opponents into the pot, but new players should always raise or re-raise with this hand.

Starting Hand: AK - Big Slick

Suited or not, this is another good hand to get into the action with. As with the AA or KK, don't limp into the pot unless you know what you're doing. Come strong or don't come at all. Raise or re-raise with this hand.

Starting Hand: Ace and any other non-face.

It never fails. A new poker player sees an Ace is his or her hand and immediately jumps into the hand. Wrong. Just because you have an Ace doesn't mean your hand is worth a hill of beans-unless you're playing head-to-head poker.

As with any hand, there are times when any two cards could work. New players should be very cautious with Ace hands. If the other card is low and non-suited, it's best to dump the hand.

The mistake new poker players make is anteing up to see the flop. Doesn't seem like much, but this act will cost you a lot of money and in the end, you'll be a loser for it. The margin between profiting and losing in poker is razor thin. Don't pay to see flops unless you have a good hand.

Remember, smart play starts from the moment you sit down (virtually or in real life) at the poker table. Use every chip, every move wisely. Will Win is a professional gambler, ex casino dealer and author. Play online casino games at the top online casino!

Playing 5 Card Games

Andy Fullard 2008-01-23
Title: Playing 5 Card Games
There are many types of poker games available for online and offline play. This article will focus on the most common 5 card poker games which are 5 card draw and 5 card stud poker. For the beginning poker player, a basic knowledge of poker rules and terms is required to develop into a seasoned gamer. Poker, in general, is a card game of skill and luck in which players obtain the best hand of cards to win. Most poker games require a hand to be made up of either seven or five cards. A good hand can be made up of either all cards of the same suit, all cards in order sequentially, or multiple sets of cards with the same rank. A "hand" in poker is the cards that each player is dealt. A suit is one of these four: spade, club, diamond, or heart. "Rank" is the number of the card and can be: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, or Ace.

5 Card draw poker can be played by as few as three and as many as seven players. It is widely popular because of the speed and competitive nature of the game. Five cards are dealt to players, face down. Players can select 1-3 cards to exchange per bet or players can keep the cards they are initially dealt. This continues in a second round and so on until a player "folds," or gives up. Players may show their cards and the player with the best hand wins.

5 Card stud poker is different in that, initially, players are dealt one card face up and one card face down. The player with the lowest ranking face card must begin the betting. Subsequent cards are dealt face up until the player with the player with the highest ranking face card beginning the bet. The player with the best hand wins.

5 Card Low/5 Card High.

Most poker games can be played "low" or "high." This refers to the ranking of the cards in each player's hand. In 5 card low, aces usually count as the number "1." The best hand a player can get is the lowest in rank: 5, 4, 3, 2, ace. Playing 5 card high requires a player to obtain subsequent high cards to win with the highest ranking set being: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10. Because 5 card games of poker make it more difficult to get a good hand (since fewer cards make up each hand), a good tip is to attempt to collect suits or sets rather than straight hands unless specifically playing low or high.

What Makes Texas Holdem Poker the Most Played Poker Variation

Ellie Schneider 2007-11-14
Title: What Makes Texas Holdem Poker the Most Played Poker Variation
It is easier to play Texas Holdem then some of the other poker games because everyone is using the same cards with the exception of their hole cards to make the best hand. Seeing the cards lined up on the table allows you a better perspective on the cards then if they were in your hand.

Texas Holdem makes bluffing much harder by placing all the cards you can use to make your winning hand in a communal pile for everyone to use. The only thing you have to make a different hand from everyone else's is 2 hole cards dealt at the beginning of the hand. The game is harder to bluff because you are able to watch the eyes of the other players as the communal cards are exposed. Without lots of practice you can watch and get a feel fro who has what cards by watching them look at the cards. Even if their faces do not give their hands away their eyes will. Someone will tend to focus on cards they may be able to use. You can also tell what they have by their lack of reactions to other cards, if a player dismisses a card immediately you can determine what kind of hand he may be holding.

The way the betting structure is designed in Texas Holdem Poker the pots grow very heavy very fast. This makes the game play fairly fast, people are constantly going broke and leaving and fresh money coming to the table. Texas Holdem has 4 different rounds and each one has its own betting round. In no limit Texas Holdem the pots can grow to over $10,000 in just a few seconds. This is part of the excitement of the game.

Many people may think that playing the most popular poker game may not be cool and that the true poker fans play draw or Caribbean Stud Poker but they would be wrong in my opinion. The advantage about playing the most popular game is that it is easier to find people who play that game and you will have a bigger selection of players to choose from to find good players. Playing against people who play at your skill level or better makes the game more of a challenge and therefore more exciting.

Another reason for the continuation of the popularity of Texas Holdem is that because of the amount of people playing the game in online casinos land casinos and even n TV there are many different high stakes Texas Holdem tournaments played all over the world and a good Texas Holdem player can make a very good living traveling around the world entering poker tournaments. The top ranked Texas Holdem professionals earn anywhere from 2 to 5 million dollars a year just to play poker. And the best of the best even get paid by sponsors to advertise poker related products.

The longer Texas Holdem poker is the most popular poker game the more people that are going to start playing it, making its popularity and its number of players infinite. This means that Texas Holdem is going to be around for a long time.

After winning a Texas Holdem Poker tournament Ellie Schneider left university and got a job traveling around the world reviewing casinos for online casino and gambling related websites.

How to Play Three Card Poker

GamingGuide.net Team 2007-07-05
Title: How to Play Three Card Poker
Three-card poker is made up of two games being played at the same time. The player can bet on both games or one or the other. Each game consists of using three cards to determine the winner. The hand values are a skinny version of poker. There is no raising or discarding of cards like there can be in poker.

The player makes their bets before the hand is dealt and the winners are then decided by the luck of the deal. There is little skill involved other than knowing how to run a betting progression or when to play a hunch. The payouts from a winning hand are set and it is this feature that allows for progression betting.

The player makes an ante bet and a pairplus bet. If the hand dealt is better than a queen six and four then the player should bet the raise. The payout for different values of hands will be paid automatically if the player is dealt one of the value hands. If the player wins the hand against the dealer they win the ante bet and the raise. If they get a pair or better they win the pairplus bet. Each live or online casino has their own payout bonuses for pairplus bets.

As you can see there is not much skill needed to play this game. It depends on luck and money management to win. If you want to learn this game for free go to the Internet and find sites that will let you play practice games. You can try different strategies and progressive betting patterns without risking any money. Playing the game for real or for practice is the only way to really learn to play.

Find a betting level that you are comfortable with and do not go away from it whether you are winning or losing. Winning sessions can turn on a dime and over confidence can be very costly. Wager in progressives steps and consider backing down if you have had a very good run of luck. Table games are fickle and can turn without warning.

Texas Holdem Strategy - How Long to Play a Rush

Micheal Thorn 2006-11-21
Title: Texas Holdem Strategy - How Long to Play a Rush
Everyone that has played cards long enough has experienced a rush at one point or another. You know, when any cards you look at turn to gold. When you make the nuts straight with 7-2 off suit, and then follow it up with four of a kind 2’s. When even the hand you folded would have won. Although the rush is very profitable, it can hurt you just as much as it helped if you don’t know when to stop.

If you are playing cards with 5 other people you can expect to win 1 out of 5 of the time. So when you win a hand, your chances of winning again decrease to one 1/25. Say you when 3 hands in a row the chances of winning the 4th are 1/625. The odds are definitely against you to maintain a rush. But how do you know when to stop?

I usually go back to my normal game after I have lost a couple of hands in a row. Considering the odds that are stacked against you when you are on one, if you loose a few hands in a row it is likely over. Two of the biggest mistakes players make is to try to ride a rush to long and playing trash cards while on it. Just because you win a couple hands in a row doesn’t mean you should play dumb cards.

Remember, rushes can go just as fast as they come and playing smart cards will be more profitable in the long run than playing cards based on luck. Texas Holdem Hand Rankings

Jean De Plume 2006-05-23
Title: Texas Holdem Hand Rankings
If there is one thing that is consistent throughout all the different variants of Poker it is the ranking of the hands (the beset combination of five cards you can make at the end of the hand). The value of a hand of poker is given a ranking according to the probability of that particular combination of cards being dealt. A hand of a higher rank will always beat a hand of lower rank. Starting with the lowest through to the highest the ranking order is as follows:

High Card: A hand consisting of five unrelated cards. Such a hand is often called a "___ high" where ___ stands for the highest card. Example: 2♣ 6♠ 7♥ 9♥ Q♠. This would be called Queen High.

One Pair: A hand containing a pair of the same valued card. Example: K♠ K♦ 10♣ 7♣ 3♥.

Two Pair: A pair of cards of the same value with another pair of the same value. Example: 9♣ 9♥ J♦ 7♠ 7♥.

Three of a Kind: A hand including three cards of the same value. Example: 2♠ 2♣ 2♦ Q♠ 8♣.

Straight: Where the values of all five cards in the hand run in sequence regardless of suit. Example: 8♦ 7♠ 6♠ 5♥ 4♦.

Flush: Where all five cards in the hand are of the same suit regardless of value. Example: A♦ J♦ 5♦ 3♦ 2♦.

Full House: A hand with three cards of one value and two cards of another value. Example: K♠ K♥ K♦ 7♥ 7♦.

Four of a Kind: A hand including four cards of the same value. Example: A♠ A♣ A♥ A♦ 6♠.

Straight Flush: Where the values of all five cards run in sequence and are all of the same suit. Example: J♥ 10♥ 9♥ 8♥ 7♥.

Royal Flush: A Royal Flush isn't a really an individual ranking. Rather it is the best possible Straight Flush, an ace through to a ten of the same suit. Example: A♠ K♠ Q♠ J♠ 10♠.

In poker variants where wild cards are used (a card to which the player can assign whatever value he likes) a Five of a Kind is possible and is the highest ranking hand in games where it is possible.

In situations where two players have the same ranking hand, if they both have a pair for instance, then it is the value of the ranking cards decides who wins. For example if both players have a pair then the highest pair wins. If each player has a pair of the same value, if they both have a pair of fours, then the hand with the highest non-ranking card wins. For example a 4♠ 4♦ A♣ 3♦ 2♦ beats a 4♣ 4♥ K♣ Q♠ J♦ The non-ranking cards are often called 'kickers'. If both players have the same hand in value then the pot is split between the players. The suit of the cards makes no difference to its value. The cards' suits are not at all relevant except in determining a flush or straight flush.

Blackjack: Advices For The Beginners

Marry Tudor 2008-05-04
Title: Blackjack: Advices For The Beginners
Starting with the dealer placing two cards on the table, each player must then decide whether or not to increase the amount of cards in their hand. The game is won by the player who has 21 (made up of an Ace and a 10, or any of the court cards, Jack, Queen or King), or has the highest numbered card. Winning hands are typically those that have cards totalling from 16 all the way to 21, although having a total of 16 will always give you a lower chance of winning. There are some games that have a bonus payout if you tie with the dealer, (called a 'push') but this is a rare occurrence.

Bets are important in a game of Blackjack. The bets are placed before the cards are dealt, whereas with most other card games, at least one card is dealt to the players before bets are made. Usually, the cards are dealt so the players can see all the cards, with the exception of the dealer. His hand is dealt so that one is visible and the other is face down, called a 'hole card'. That is where the typical strategies come in about hitting, doubling, or standing based on the upturned card of the dealer. Doubling is done when a player has two cards of the same value, which can be split to form two hands.

Statistically, the easiest winnings come from hands with a total of 20 or higher, to ensure that you have the stronger hand against he dealer. While you can win the hand on a 17, it is more difficult, as the dealer has to stand on 17 when following the traditional blackjack rules. If the hands are the same, then the face value of the cards is taken. Standing on 17 is rarely a good idea unless the dealer has a 6 or below in his hand, or your hand consists of an Ace (a soft hand). In the same way, hitting on a hard 17 is inadvisable due to the increased chance of busting.

The difference between a hard and a soft hand in blackjack is described as follows. A hard hand is known as such because it is a straight hand. The values are not interchangeable, and therefore the next card dealt will decide whether or not the player busts. Therefore, a hand without an Ace or an Ace that is counted as 1 is called a hard hand, and a soft hand is a hand with an Ace that can only be counted as 11. In traditional blackjack hands, the Ace is automatically counted as 11 unless it is necessary to reduce the value. It is known as a soft hand because it can never be broken before the third card is drawn.

In this way, the same strategy applies to a hand of 18. If the dealer's card is anything from a 9 through to an Ace, the chances of you winning the hand are incredibly small. If you have a soft hand when the dealer has these cards, it is in your best interests to hit and obtain another card. Standing should be done when the dealer has any card from 2, a 7 or an 8. If the dealer has any card from 3 to 6, then doubling should be undertaken wherever possible. Following these rules, a hand of 19 will only be a strong hand if the dealer is not showing an Ace or 10. These values are calculated due to the cards typically being 3 or more decks, and the odds of particular cards coming out on the turns.

Because of the high chances of a strong hand being 20, the majority of winnings come from the two hands that make up the total. This may seem difficult to remember, but with practice, playing blackjack becomes easier, and the strategies become ingrained in your memory. It is more difficult to play blackjack with hard hands, for example hands from 12 to 16, as they are more likely to lose money. However, if the higher cards are still in the deck, then increasing the bet may give you higher chances of beating the dealer.

It is also possible to come across a situation where the dealer may offer an insurance bet. This is where the upturned card is an Ace, but the hole card is not known. In this insurance bet, the player is taking the gamble that the dealer has 21 in his hand. It is called insurance because if the dealer has blackjack then the player will still win the game even if the player loses by his own cards. It is useful in games where the high value cards are still in the deck, and the payouts for insurance would be greater than winning the blackjack initial wager. Of course, the dealer could also ask if the player would prefer his wager back if he has blackjack in his own hands. The advantage to this is that the player has no knowledge of whether the dealer has 21, and the dealer can then obtain more money for the house from the other players who continue to push.

How to win at Live Baccarat

Bob Tharten 2008-05-04
Title: How to win at Live Baccarat
They say that Baccarat is game that cannot be won other than a really good guess. But others say differently. The basic objective of the game is to score 9 or as close to it as you can without the banker beating you. There are two cards that are given and depending on what the two cards added together are you get to draw a third card. You can either bet on your hand, the bankers hand or a Tie. The Tie pays out more. In a game like Baccarat there is no other way to influence the cards or change the outcome. What the cards say is what they say. You can try to take a wild guess at what the cards may add up to be but it is highly unlikely that you can.

What makes the game harder is that the casino can choose to use up to 8 decks of cards. Which will mess you all up, if you were considering card counting or statistics. You would also have to consider the other players too. You would have to look at their cards and access a system where you think it will be beneficial to you. There are players who have claimed to have beta slot machines and Blackjack but trying to fix baccarat or figure it out is like trying to guess who will win Roulette. It is impossible.

With Baccarat it is the luck of the draw and with Roulette it is luck of the spinb of the ball. There are websites all over the place that say they can predict online Baccarat but if you cannot predict the cards when they are in front of you how can you predict an online card game. It is simple, you cannot predict the game of Baccarat, if you could there would be millionaires running around and casinos would add another deck of cards to foil that plot or they would increase their commission.

Baccarat is a fun game that is either hit or miss. You can’t tell which way it is going to go. Some players bet on the bank because they believe like every other game it is somehow connected to the house. But instead Baccarat is favored by a very small percentage that the player has the advantage. You may be able to find smaller tables where you could place a small bet. Not all casinos are geared toward the high rollers.

They would lose money of they did. You can practice Baccarat at home with another player or just with your self and see if you have any luck perfecting a winning strategy. Try playing on a online casino you can’t lose money because those sites are illegal here in the United States. Practice may make perfect and maybe not. It is all in fun anyway, you are supposed to walk into a casino and prepare to lose. At least that is what they say.
