When we think of career change we generally think of deciding that wed like to do something different with our lives and making that move to that new career. Often, however, it doesn't really work that way. Career change may be something we didn't anticipate, we didn't ask for, we didn't welcome and something that just got thrust upon us. Middle-aged men are especially prone to this forced career change. In fact, the chances that a middle aged man will be pushed into a career change due to unexpected job loss is twice as likely as twice as likely now as it was just a decade ago. In the United States alone one million males are forced into a midlife career change due to downsized, merged or bankrupt companies. Many of these, finding new employment difficult, head into entrepreneurship or partnership. Women aren't far behind in this non-optional career change either. Technology evolutions and downsizing affect women in the workforce as well, not only because they have to change career midstream but also because they are unemployed spouses of males who lose their jobs. These women must enter the workforce, some without having ever done so in the past. Some career change is voluntary and welcome, of course. Divorce can either necessitate a career change or make possible a long-sought career change. Empty nest syndrome may leave caregivers with time on their hands to pursue their dreams. No matter whether a career change is voluntary or thrust upon us, there are some tips that help make the transition a more peaceful, successful and productive life transition. The first thing we all must do is assume that we will have at least one career change – and perhaps many – in the course of our adult lives. As much as we are able we should do what our parents tried to teach us as children – save for a rainy day. A cash reserve of about six months salary – or at the very least three – is important. Should you be laid off what you don't want to have to do is make a career change that you don't welcome simply because finances require you to take the first job that comes along or one you don't like but one that pays better than your dream occupation. Keeping abreast of the latest technology and the latest workforce gadgets keeps your skills marketable. No matter what career you change to you'll be welcomed if you know the latest computer and communication software and hardware. Great communication and public speaking skills, knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, Spreadsheet and Power Point can be valuable no matter what career change you make. Networking in your industry and the related industries, but outside your workplace can be immensely helpful with any career change. The old saying that “its not what you know, its who you know” is still true today. Consider returning to school if you find yourself forced into a career change. Look into the possibilities of education grants and loans. See if you might be able to live off savings and a part time job while you train for that new career. Theres no reason that you cant make career lemonade out of that lemon of an unexpected career change. |

| 2 | Thinking About A New Bathroom? |

The bathroom is the usually the second room in the house that we visit each morning and we certainly visit it multiple times throughout the day. So why not make this place as attractive as it can be? (Or at least as attractive as the rest of the house.) Introduction It would be a mistake to remodel a home and neglect similar work to the bathroom (or bathrooms). While the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms enjoy all the latest luxuries and modern facilities, an un-remodeled bathroom suffers from looking as though it were stuck in a time warp. Why do some people neglect the most popular room of the house? Who knows... But one thing is for sure - a remodeled bathroom will increase the value of any home no matter how many times it's used! Now when we say 'remodel,' we don't mean 're-decorate.' Putting up new towels, laying down new rugs, or even hanging a new mirror isn't really remodeling - that's redecorating! Remodeling is much more involved than that and can involve anything from installing an automatic shower and his & her toilets - to building new closets and cabinets with matching sinks. A professional contractor can remodel your bathroom and bring it up the current par of the rest of your house. That way your bathroom (or bathrooms) isn't an isolated area of the home. Definition Call it by any other name, a bathroom is a bathroom - but it's your attitude towards it that can increase is personal significance and aesthetic value. Don't look at your bathroom as a can, a john, or lavatory. Look at your bathroom as a preparation room - a room in the house that comfortably accommodates the intimate areas of your lifestyle. Application Because the bathroom is accessed multiple times throughout the day, it presents an instance where function might take precedence over aesthetics. You'll want to consider who uses the bathroom, why, and how the objects in it can make use of the Bathroom more convenient. Next, you'll want to select the materials of the things in your bathroom that are easy to clean. Again, since this room is accessed probably more often than any other room of the house, it's important that it's a hygienic environment. So although a shag carpet may look nice in a bathroom, it won't be easy to clean and ward off potentially dangerous germs. After determining how you want your bathroom to function and what it's going to need, you can talk to your contractor and make your selections from a large selection of facilities. Having experience in installing things like sinks, Showers, and toilets, your contractor can offer advice and alert you to new products that haven't' even hit the market yet. If you're living with a handicapped person, or you're handicapped yourself, then you'll certainly want to make your bathroom as accessible as possible. When in doubt, ask others in your home (or yourself) what you need to make your time in the bathroom as comfortable as possible? What is hard to accomplish in there now and how can I fix that? |

Choosing a career is one of the key ways that you select which irresistible forces you will be subject to, and what resources you will have available as you do. Like analyzing the circumstances to choose which irresistible forces can provide the most benefit to your organization, you should use similar analytical thinking in choosing a profession. |

| 8 | Thinking of buying a new Printer? |

This is not an easy question to answer because there are so many options out there, so before we can start to answer your question we need to ask you some questions. What will you use the printer for, is it: Purely for home use, kids homework etc. For printing high quality photos For small office use - mainly documents, but with some requirement for colour For office or business use - high speed documents 1. For home use Needs to be easy to use and low cost to run, so that you can afford to print off those school projects and loads of web page information without having to take out a second mortgage. DO NOT BUY HP, Lexmark or Dell. These manufacturers all use an ink cartridge with a built in print head, but also use a method which puts three different colours all in one cartridge - when one colour is run out the cartridge is finished. Epson, Canon and Brother all use a technology where the print head is built into the printer, so as you finish one colour you just replace that ink tank - a much cheaper option immediately. These days, I would recommend looking for a Multi-Function device, that is a printer that is also a scanner, copier and printer all in one. Basically one machine will print documents from your PC, but will also allow you to scan documents back into the PC again and Photo Copy documents whenever you need them. All of the major manufacturers offer these types of machines so costs are very competitive, the thing you need to know is the cost of owning and using them. When you start looking at the cost of ink cartridges the immediate thing that jumps out is the price differential between original and compatible or refilled cartridges. For home use the compatible/refilled cartridges are more than adequate for purpose. Compatible cartridges are manufactured by third party manufacturers and are generally significantly cheaper than the Manufacturers original cartridges. So, we need a Multi-Function printer, made by Epson, Canon or Brother and we now get down to personal preference. For ease of use and ease availability of competitively priced ink cartridges, I personally recommend Brother products - my daughter at University has one and is delighted with the results. This also fulfills the requirements for No 3 - Small office/Home office use; one device in a small footprint which will fulfill three requirements - once again Brother wins out in my opinion. So I have covered options 1 and 3 above, next number 2 photo printing; There are two different types of photo printers, Canon ,Samsung and Kodak produce 4 x 6? photo printers, which use a ribbon technique called dye sublimation printing. These produce a very high quality print which is equivalent to or better than that produced by traditional silver halide photo processing in shops etc, the drawback is that you are limited to the sizes that you can print and it can also be expensive. Your other option is an inkjet printer. To be able to print high quality photos you must have at least six colours available, and some of the top end printers now use up to 10 different colour cartridges. Using these inks and good quality inkjet photo paper, the output you can achieve is breathtaking and in many cases better than traditional methods of outputting photos. Which one to choose is a really difficult question and probably revolves more around your personal preferences and the thickness of your wallet than anything else. My own personal preference is for the new Canon Pixma printers, results achieved with their new Chromalife 100 inks are stunning, the inks are guaranteed for up to 100 years (with some caveats!) and they are using semiconductor manufacturing technology for the print heads which enables the printers to produce superb output every time. Finally number 4, office use. With the advent of Colour Laser printers for under ?200 there is no argument - go for a colour laser. These days they are small footprint, usually networkable and the toner used is a Chemical toner which will give outstanding results. They will print faster than an inkjet printer, the cost per page is less than an inkjet printer and they are much more robust than an inkjet printer. We also offer compatible toner cartridges for a large range of laser toners, so the running costs are significantly reduced. The biggest issue we found using these printers here at Stinkyink Towers was they were a bit fussy about the quality of the paper we were putting through them. We can’t get away with the very cheapest 80gsm copier paper, but still use an 80gsm laserjet paper which goes through all of our machines very happily and causes us no problems at all. If you can afford it look at the Multi-Function machines, again up to 4 applications in one small(ish) footprint. We have an HP MFP(Multi Function Printer) which includes a fax, Network printer, scanner and copier all in one machine and is reasonable to run In summary then, for home/small office use get hold of a Brother Multi Function inkjet printer, cheap and easy to use and run. For High Quality Photo Printing you won’t go far wrong with one of the new Canon Pixma Photo printers and finally for Office use a colour laser or MFP device I hope that this distillation of our collective wisdom is of use, if you need any more information please feel free to give us a call. |

| 10 | The Top 7 Ways Of Thinking That You Will Get New Clients |

Henry Ford said: If you believe you can, you can; if you believe you can t, you re right . Your behaviour is a direct result of what you re thinking. If you re having problems generating new clients it s easy to blame outside forces. The fact is, whatever is going on in your head will have a huge impact too! If you are a sales person or a business owner looking to find prospects you can sell your new products or services to, your success will depend on your ability to promote yourself and what you have to offer. People will often start in a new business venture and quit because of the stress and discouragement experienced during the process of looking for new clients. Applying a positive approach will help you develop and sustain a mindset that will have you consistently filling your business with paying clients. 1. Realise that rejection is not something personal against you. If someone rejects whatever you are offering, it is not YOU that they are rejecting. Instead, they re rejecting the service or product that you are offering. The reason they believe they don t want or need it, doesn't matter. Just realise that it is not a personal rejection of you. Knowing this will help you approach others openly, honestly, and confidently. 2. Accept that not everyone is going to be interested. Not everyone is going to want your products or services but some of them will. Remember that the people who aren t interested right now could easily be potential customers for the future. Focus on potential opportunities for now and into the future and maintain your relationship. 3. Getting new clients is about building a RELATIONSHIP, and not about selling. Successful selling occurs as a result of developing a relationship with a buyer. Forming a relationship with a potential buyer is a critical factor. It gives you the opportunity to demonstrate the benefits they will gain and the problems that will be resolved from a relationship with you. The more great relationships you have the more successful you will be. 4. Set goals and be results-oriented. Results occur more easily for those who plan what their results are going to be, and by when. Set realistic, flexible daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals for how many new clients you are going to attract into your business. Then, take consistent steps to achieve your goals. 5. Be curious. Potential clients are also human beings with cares, trials, successes, and emotions. Be curious about your prospective clients lives. What are their biggest challenges? What are their needs? Learn as much as you can about your client. Connect to them in a caring and compassionate way. They will feel that and respond to you in a more positive way. 6. Surround yourself with winners. Don t spend time with negative, petty people who complain a lot. This type of person will sap your energy and drag you down. Like attracts like, and you will rise to the occasion when you surround yourself with positive people who are already accomplishing what you are setting out to accomplish. It s also a great way to develop your skills learning from people that are achieving! 7. and lastly see yourself as a winner! Now that you are spending time with winners, it is time to begin seeing yourself as an equal - a winner. Use your unique attributes and achieve great things. |

At school youngsters are given sums to work out. When you have reached the answer, you stop thinking. What is the point of further thinking? If you are asked the date of the battle of Waterloo you may have to do some thinking to work it out, but once you have the answer you stop thinking. ‘Does this train go to Liverpool?’ You get the answer and stop thinking.
There are situations with definite answers. When you have got the ‘right’ answer, or when you believe you have got the ‘right’ answer, you stop thinking. The purpose of thinking is to get you to the ‘right’ answer. When thinking has done its job, you stop thinking. You use a knife to cut a piece of steak. When you have the piece, you lay the knife aside. The tool has done its work. So when thinking has done its work you lay aside the process. ‘Which is the best way up this mountain?’ If the mountain has been climbed frequently, then the ‘right’ route will be indicated to you. Many other routes may have been tried and found to be more dangerous or harder work. If the mountain has not been climbed so frequently, the ‘right’ route may not be the only one or the best one. You may want to try out a new route for yourself. How can you tell whether you are in a situation where there is only one ‘right’ answer, and when you have that answer there is no point in further thinking? Some situations are obvious. If you need technical information, then once you have that information you have the right answer. In many situations, if not most, you settle for a ‘satisfactory’ answer or an ‘adequate’ answer. If the answer appears to satisfy your needs, then you accept it as ‘right’. There might be a much better answer but you see no need to look for it. Our habit of stopping thinking when we reach a ‘right’ answer is so ingrained that we are reluctant to do any further thinking. It is not unlike spending money. If you have spent ‘enough’ money, why should you spend more? Yet there are many situations where the first ‘right answer’ is far from the best. Indeed, there might be a special opportunity in such situations, because everyone else may have stopped at the first ‘right answer’. So if you think further, you may open up anew opportunity which others have missed. ADDITIONAL THINKING Why should additional thinking be of use? Perception is a very important part of thinking. In fact, research (at Harvard) shows that 90% of the errors of thinking are errors of perception. It does not matter how logical your thinking, it can never be better than your starting perceptions. So if someone has a different perception of the situation then additional thinking might provide a different answer. History and culture within an organisation will largely determine the sort of thinking that takes place on an issue. Someone who has not been subjected to this history and culture may come up with different thinking. The starting point of our thinking will strongly affect the outcome. Someone who starts at a different point may follow an entirely different path with an entirely different outcome. It is very difficult for any individual to vary the starting point for himself or herself. The purpose of thinking is to deliver value: to the customer, to the voter, to the organisation, to the investors, etc. etc. There is a whole range of values in any situation. The emphasis is usually put on some of these values. Someone who puts a different emphasis on the values may come up with a different answer. That is always a possibility with additional thinking. In medicine, it is quite common to seek out a ‘second opinion’. In serious matters you want to be sure that the diagnosis or treatment regime is one that is generally held and not the result of one individual’s thinking. It is not a matter of doubt or dissatisfaction. There is simply a need for confirmation through seeking another opinion. THE VALUE OF ADDITIONAL THINKING If the additional thinking turns up nothing new or different, is that not a waste of time, effort and even money? On the contrary, the reassurance value of such additional thinking confirms that the original thinking is good. This is similar to the case in medicine for a second opinion. If the additional thinking is slightly different, this may suggest a new insight or a new consideration. Such a new consideration may be thought about and may be rejected or may modify, even if slightly, the original thinking. If the additional thinking is very different, it may be rejected. This rejection will demand further thinking on the matter which will reinforce the first thinking. There may also be a need to go back and rethink the whole matter if the additional thinking seems reasonable. CONFIDENCE AND TIME To seek additional thinking may imply a lack of confidence in the original thinking. This may be true, but is hardly a reason for not seeking additional thinking. It is easy to make a decision if you never consider any alternatives. But a decision made in this way may not be a very good decision. If you dare not consider additional thinking, that does not show much confidence in your original thinking. You suspect that the original thinking may not be all that good. There are a few emergency situations where there is not much time for thinking. In such situations there is hardly time to seek additional thinking. In practice, such situations are rare. Usually there is ample thinking time for strategies, decisions, choices and problem-solving. So the time complaint is rarely justified and is used as a surrogate for other reasons. Additional thinking does not imply inadequacy in the original thinking. It simply implies that from a different perspective a different view may be obtained. A parent cannot think as a child any more than a child can think as a parent. DIFAT This is a virtual institute - the De Bono Institute For Additional Thinking. DIFAT can be used metaphorically. ‘We should bring in DIFAT here.’ That implies that an effort should be made to generate some additional or alternative thinking on the matter. The same people who did the original thinking may now operate under the DIFAT label. Or another team may be given this task. It is also possible that DIFAT can be used in a real sense. The Institute may be formally asked to provide some additional thinking around a defined issue. Additional thinking implies confidence in the original thinking - not the opposite. You cannot really choose the best if you have no choice. If you only have one answer, how can you choose the best answer? |

When you bring home your new puppy, they are so cute and playful, jumping around and getting into everything, oops accidents everywhere. Biting everything, you need dog chews also. All the pups want are your attention they are looking for someone to replace their mother. Your puppy would love to start sleeping in your bed with you ah but do not let this happen; they will be there from then on. Just think if you have a Great Dane, you had better get a bigger bed, so let us not start this. The couch is not the best plan either, your dog when older will then own your couch it does not matter that your company wants to sit there it is his dog bed because you gave it to him remember? When your dog is older, forget the floor because his joints just got to sore from all the fun you people had together when he was a puppy. The best plan is to go shopping for a dog bed before you get your pet and pick out either a small round dog bed or a dog bed that has a mother s heartbeat in it to help them sleep. There are all kinds of dog beds for small puppies to make them feel more comfortable and safe. I love the royal small dog beds the puppies can just curl up in there and feel like mama still with them. I am hoping that you have listened and have bought a dog bed before the first night with your loving puppy if not look up my site and rush order a dog bed of your liking, email me and I ll send it out as fast as I can because .. When they start whining and crying at night it is then that you will wish you had listened. This makes them so much better I hope. Then pick out that dog bed so you two can be best friends and get on with the fun stuff. Have fun and enjoy the times you have with your new puppies and the old puppies also. Innovation often begins with the analysis of its sources which is generally context oriented. Innovations that are effective start in a small and simple way. Prediction of innovation fate would be incorrect as it may end up in a big business or be a modest achievement. Innovation is work rather than genius – it requires knowledge, focus and ingenuity. It is diligence, persistence and commitment that add to one's talent, knowledge and ingenuity, which in turn brings about innovation. We need to continuously ask ourselves – What are the adjacent possibilities within an industry that allow for the creation of something new? We dare to ask ‘What if?’ kind of questions and challenge our own works. We need to freely start playing with our creative imaginations - no matter it relates to what. |

When was the last time you thought about taking your business to new and heady heights, but didn’t actually get any further? Don’t worry, you are not alone.
There’s plenty of business owners out there who let their brains stand in the way of fundamental changes in their business. We either think that we can’t do it, or we don’t know how to do it. Sound familiar? If you want to do more than grow incrementally then you need to get into some radical thinking. It’s pretty easy to set a goal of selling 10% more, or getting 5 more customers. This is what I call an incremental target (meaning....just a little bit more than last time). This is better than not having any targets, but it does tend to leave you well inside your comfort zone. Let’s talk about radical targets. To achieve a radical target implies completely altering the ways things are done, and potentially introducing a new paradigm into the business. To set a radical target you need to make a leap of faith and suspend the part of your brain that reminds you you don’t know how to achieve it. Setting radical targets that you don’t know how to meet can result in creative and “out of the box” solutions. It’s unlikely that you’ll achieve them without major changes to the way the business is run. And that’s the whole point. This ongoing search for innovation and different approaches can keep the business fresh and a step ahead of your competitors. Here’s some examples of radical targets to inspire you: ? Double the net profit of the business within 12 months ? Become internationally known as a specialist in your field ? Shift the business model from 100% face to face to 80% web enabled ? Create a product set that generates enough passive income to sustain you and is completely automated and on-line Now that you’ve set your radical targets you can start imagining how to make them happen. This will force you to totally rethink aspects of how your provide your product or service. Start with an open mind - just because you’re not sure how to achieve it doesn’t mean it can’t be done. If you even get half way to your radical targets, you will be a much further ahead than if you had never set them. Expand your world, and aim to set at least 2 radical objectives somewhere in your business plan. Perhaps more often than otherwise discordant thinking is provoked by some incident, condition, or thing external to one's self. The connection in the mind between thoughts and their causes is very close, but there are two kinds of these thoughts, -- those which are simply thoughts about the occurrence without any quality of discord whatever, and those which are also thoughts about the occurrence but which are discordant in their character. These are entirely distinct, therefore dismissal of the discordant thoughts does not necessitate dismissal of all thought connected with an incident any more than throwing out the decayed fruit necessitates throwing out the perfect fruit also. The loaf attraction applies and works no matter what type of thoughts we are harvesting regularly in our minds. |

Call it stategic thinking, process thinking, or creative thinking, but whatever we do we need to abandon our stinking thinking! If there were no thoughts about 2012, no Mayan calendar, no galatic crossing, nor increased sun spot activity, what could we do to turn our thinking and the way we live around? Because right now we're headed for a hell-hole of destruction. Something needs to get our attention that will cause us to unite and quit killing each other! |

It might come as some surprise to you that you need to focus on positive thinking to get through periods of financial difficulty and to help you to turn around your financial situation where you have sufficient funds to cover your day to day expenditure without being constantly stressed. It is only natural that somebody who has had financial turmoil for some time, to begin thinking negatively and wonder whether they will ever get out of the difficult situation that they are in. If you are currently faced with huge debt that you feel so overwhelming you can't see the forest for the woods then it is going to take you some time to start feeling better about yourself and thinking positively towards the future. It is however something that you need to focus on because the power of positive thinking will help you to get back on your feet a lot sooner. It will help you to make better decisions and give you the energy to focus on bringing in more income and coping with the stress that you are currently under. Positive thinking will also be picked up by other people such as your creditors who will see that even you believe you are going to make good on their debts and give them the confidence to possibly allow you a bit more time to pay back the money that is owing to them. If you approach them with a negative attitude then they can become very uneasy as to whether they will get their money back or not and often this is all that is needed for creditors to send the debt collectors in. Positive thinking is a goal that needs to be added to the other goals that will see you eliminating debt and leading a more positive and productive life where you will have more control over all aspects of your life including the running of your household and your finances. |

The title above may sound too difficult, but what you're about to read is far from that. Let's face it, we live in a cesspool of negative stories, horrific crimes against one another, and many doomsday scenarios. Is this as good as it gets, the way life is supposed to be, of is there another way to live? Is it possible to protect yourself and yet not live in denial? My answer is yes, and why aren't we? |
