Even if you are not new to Internet Marketing, it is surprising how few believe they can write or produce their own INFO PRODUCTS. While many have bought or possibly promoted Ebooks, few are aware of the reason why Ebooks are such a great product to write, sell and promote and how they can be instrumental in building your home business success!

When starting something like this, you should always consider the viral factor. You want your ebook to spread virally across eBay or Amazon and hopefully for it to turn up in other ebook collections, shops and offers as a bonus. People need to be able to find it for you to get sales.

You need to be constantly asking yourself the WIIFM - What's In It For Me? What would cause other people to want to REALLY resell your ebook? You have to put yourself in their shoes, and then think about the WIIFM.

So what would strongly motivate you to resell someone else's ebook? First you would need to feel that the ebook is not only well written and interesting but that there is also a hungry audience waiting to buy it to fulfill a need or solve a problem. This would mean that the obvious motivation of MAKING MONEY is fulfilled.

Many also use ebooks to build a mailing list and that can be a good enough reason to often give the ebook away. A list of loyal and satisfied subscribers can be turned into a money machine if you follow the right methods. The other reason for possibly giving the ebook away or offering affiliates 100% commission is to spread your reputation and establish a loyal following. This gives you a good reputation and earns respect so that your future subscribers are more likely to buy from you in the future as they know and trust and respect you as a good authority or source of advice in your chosen field.

There can also be a number of minor reasons you'd resell a particular ebook, but the biggest WIIFM for most people is money. This means you need to set up a system where the reseller can make a nice amount of money on the back end after selling your ebook. The more the better, for both of you.

Let's look at how YOU can make money and then we'll see how we can adapt things so that the reseller makes money too.

Before you even write your ebook, you have to do a bit of market research. This is a complete topic in its own right, that requires a separate analysis. Let's assume you've done your research and you've found something you CAN write about, you WANT to write about, and that it's also a hot topic with a hungry market.

The first part in this process is to write your ebook. How you write it is another big topic I'm not going to cover in this short article. Many who do not have the confidence or flair to write a lengthy complete ebook in one go use various systems that separate and split the topic into parts giving them more confidence and making the task more manageable. A series of short reports or articles can often be used as a basis for a complete ebook.

After completing your first draft that was checked for typos etc. you should put links to similar, relevant products throughout your ebook. These links will be your affiliate links to those other products, so if someone clicks one and buys, you'll get paid a commission.

Example: You write an ebook on tennis, and now you want to promote some tennis products within your ebook. You could go searching on Google for tennis affiliate programs, but the easiest way is to go to CLICKBANK and search their market place for tennis-related products.

Choose the products you want to promote carefully so that the trust and loyalty that you want to build up with your future customers will be compromised. Check out each of the sales pages of the products you like the look of, and ask yourself if YOU would buy that product. Again this is a complete separate subject that can be covered elsewhere.

After you've chosen the products you want to promote, rewrite parts of your ebook and work in a mention of those products together with your affiliate link. Use a link cloaker or redirect to hide the fact that it's an affiliate link and protect your commissions. Also you want an invitation to an opt in form where interested subscribers can sign up to your mailing list. This may include mention of a Newsletter or free gifts to entice them to leave their email and build your list.

Finally, do another rewrite of your ebook and "juice it up" a little. Dry facts are okay, but it's always better if you can work in a bit of controversy or mystery and use words like SECRETS, REVEALED, HOT TIPS, YOUR SUCCESS etc. Don't go over the top and create too much hype and overblown facts or your credibility will be questioned. It is important to get the right balance between keeping the readers interest but not losing your credibility with too much hype and overblown promises etc.

And finally, make it look good and easy to read using pictures and plenty of white space to break up the text with short paras and maybe some use of bold or italics.

Okay so now you have your ebook full of your affiliate links. Your next step is to start listing it on sites like eBay and ebook directories/shops with master resale rights (MRR). To get people to buy it, you'll have to do a good job on your sales page, which should also be part of the package. Some also use a Squeeze page or intro video as a pre sale method to qualify the visitor before they read the sales page and increase the chances of them converting and becoming buyers.

After a month of listing it (it may take longer), and taking all the necessary steps, you'll have ebook resellers buying it and listing it themselves. From that point it will spread virally across and outside eBay.

Now you have a source of free advertising. You don't need to list it on eBay any more as plenty of other people are doing it for you. And all the people that buy it and read it will be clicking on your affiliate links, and some will buy. Better still, many will be signing up to your mailing list if your offer is attractive enough.

An example of another way to promote is you write TWO ebooks on the same subject.

One is a short 10-20 page report with MRR offered FREE and used to build your opt in list. The other is the larger more valuable ebook that you're either going to charge money for and use the report to promote it and get resellers interested etc. Its using the same system as a pre sale squeeze/landing page linked to a sales page. One feeds into the other converting more into buyers.

You start selling the report on eBay and wait until it's picked up by other resellers. Inside the report, you make it clear there's a complete version that can be obtained just by going to your web site, and there you make your offer. They get the complete ebook at a special price and you also get their first name and their email address, and you then have them on your mailing list.

And for a slight variation .

You could sell the larger ebook with a commission paid out to the ebook reseller who has signed up to your affiliate scheme and then rebranded the small report with their affiliate link.

You may want to build a mailing list as your main priority, and forego any money made on the larger ebook. So you could give 100% commission to the affiliate and make your larger ebook $17.00 or more.

Now THERE's a good incentive for affiliates to resell your ebook. They're going to

a) make money on the upsell, and
b) get a chance to build their own mailing list too if they use SmartDD!

Especially with the follow up email 24 hours later to make an offer of their own.

Ebooks and products are the easiest and fastest item to sell digitally with the lowest costs. Whether you are a writer, buyer, seller or promoter of ebooks you can make a good living online by following some of these sound methods and strategies. Start writing now.

In case you're thinking, "but I have permanent writer's block, or I am no good at selling things", No worries - I am going to show you how to do it; right here, right now.

First you will need to decide what topic you can write about.

Choosing a suitable topic will often be the toughest step you will encounter. You must take time and make the decision carefully about your topic. Take a few minutes to brainstorm the topics.

What are some areas that you know more about than everyone else you know? Pet training? Capentry? Backyard Photography? Image Editing? Imagine the ebook "How to Train Your Dog to Stop Biting in 60 Days or Less" or "How to Refinish Your Own Kitchen Cabinets - At Almost No Cost" or "Everything You Need to Know About Image Editing" or "How to Program Your Computer Like A Pro".

Try to make a list at least 5 different things you are skilled at. Once you have this list, simply plug in the area of expertise and the benefits into this formula: "How to ___________ so that ___________". For example: "How to Teach Math so That Your Child Does Better in School", or "How to Insulate Your Home to Save on Your Heating Bill", or "How to Grow a Vegetable Garden Indoors". This will become your title.

Now that you have this done, write down ten things you know about that topic. Arrange them either in chronological order or in the order someone should learn them.

For example "How to Buy Your First Digital Camera":

1) How to decide what features are right for you
2) How to choose which camera manufacturer
3) How to choose the best camera for a budget
4) How to use your camera like a pro

and so on (I do not know much about digital cameras, but if you do, finish the list and then write the book)

Once you have come up with your list of several focal points (or more if you need them), next you will need to think of at least 6 sub headings - things that a person would do to learn what you are discussing in that topic.

1) The most common feature you will need
2) Advantages to having specific features
3) Disadvantages of different features
4) Can too many feature be too much
and so on.

Now it is time for the next hardest part, the actual process of writing your new ebook. Notice that by now you have at least 50 or more really selective sub-categories about which you will write about. Now you will try to write around 500 words about each sub-category. If you determine that the mini-topic needs to have any more than 500-700 words to get your point across; then by all means break it into multiple headings. Don't worry about organizing the book - besides you have already spent time organizing the entire book in the beginning, remember? Make sure to write about each area.

You do not have to cover these themes in any given order, just write the section you are the most comfortable with. Once you are done writing each topic, double-check it (have someone else proofread it too) and then get ready to publish your new ebook.

Once you are finished the ebook, you will have to convert it to a PDF File. There are a number of PDF conversions programs available online, or you can use the one from Adobe.

The next step will involve getting a website and a sales page. Don't let the words 'sales page' scare you. You can literally create a sales page from your list of key points and sub-topics that you already had before you started writing the ebook. Simply write a letter letting the reader know what they will be learning from your ebook, and again, have someone else proofread your sales letter too. That letter should contain the following criteria:

A brief description of your ebook's contents.
A list of what the reader will learn to apply through your ebook.
Any testimonials about how your ebook has helped someone else.
A guarantee.
A link to some form of payment processing, like Paypal, Clickbank, or some other processing method.

Now you can upload the page to your web site, write a few articles about your area of expertise, and submit these to online article directories that have a readership that matches your targeted reading market of your ebook. Make sure to include a link back to your sales page, and watch the traffic add up!

But do you even know how to start?
Do you have any idea about the topic you want to write about?
How about the actual compilation of the ebook?
What about marketing the ebook once you've compiled it?

All of these factors need to be addressed before you start work on your project.

First of all, you'll need to get the logistics right. Will you be writing your ebook in MS Word or will you be typing it directly into some sort of ebook publishing software?
Most authors start their work in MS Word and then transfer it to an ebook compiler software program when they have finished.

Which topic will you write about? Many experienced authors suggest that you write about a topic you are passionate about. This is common sense and works well if you know a lot about one particular topic.

The disadvantage of using EXE ebook makers to compile and distribute your work is the fact that they can't be used on Macintosh computers. If you want to cater for 90% of computer users, then an EXE ebook will be fine. If you wish to compile for absolutely everyone, you'll need the less secure PDF method of compiling.

In addition to the above, there are many ways to bring visitors to your site. For example, you can buy pop-under traffic, expired domain traffic, newspaper advertising, ezine advertising and joint ventures.

Once you start to get a steady stream of visitors to your site, you'll start to see your ebook sales rise.

If you have been selling resellable ebooks on eBay for some time, then it is likely that you adopt a method similar to many ebook sellers. You source cheap or free ebooks with resell rights and then resell these in your eBay store. Now there is nothing wrong with this method. It means that obtaining the ebooks is cheap or even free, you don't have to spend time creating a product and a lot of the time you even get a ready made sales page and download page. For next to no money, you have a digital product that can be sold again and again, for very little effort. I used to rely solely on this method when reselling ebooks on eBay and achieved reasonable success with it. I even wrote a newsletter article last year on sourcing free ebooks that can be resold on eBay. To this day I still resell other people's ebooks in my eBay store. However, the difference is that I now also create and sell my own resellable ebooks.

Now you may be thinking; 'Why would you want to go to all the time and effort of creating your own resellable ebooks, which are likely to depreciate in value very quickly? Surely it is much more time and cost effective to resell ebooks that are already available with resell rights?' If these are your thoughts then you are thinking about resellable ebooks in the wrong way. Let me put it into perspective and hopefully change your thinking on the issue with the example below.

Lets say for this example you are selling your own ebook and someone else's ebook, both for £1.99 in your eBay store. Now when you sell someone else's ebook you make £1.99 which is all well and good. However, when you sell your own resellable ebook you make £1.99 from the sale AND after the sale you have the potential for much more. What potential you may be asking? Well let me explain below just what your own resellable ebook can do for you.

1) Promote:- Your own ebook can be a very valuable promotional tool for your eBay store, your website or whatever else you want to promote. If you want to promote your eBay store simply write a little note such as "brought to you by http://stores.ebay.co.uk/YOUREBAYSTORE." Or you could even write a small paragraph about your eBay store, what it sells etc, and then provide a link to it if people want to find out more. If you have your own website, write an ebook that contains similar content and of course provide a link to your website somewhere within the ebook.

As you continue to sell your ebook with resell rights, some of your customers will also start to sell it and eventually their customers will sell it too. As time goes by your ebook will continue to be distributed, creating an increasing amount of traffic - your very own viral traffic tool. The more your ebook is distributed, the greater the potential for traffic to your eBay store/website.

2) Sell your Premium Product:- If you have a premium ebook then resellable ebooks can be used to sell it. For example, if you have a cooking recipes ebook that you have wrote containing 1000 recipes this could be your premium ebook. You could then use 10 or 20 of these recipes to create a resellable ebook. At the end of this resellable ebook you could leave a note such as "Want to get 1000 recipes just like this? Then Click Here." The Click Here will link to your premium ebook. If people like the recipes in your premium ebook then they are likely to go on and purchase the full 1000 recipe premium ebook.

As before the same principles apply, and as time goes by your resellable ebook gets seen by an increasing number of readers and should generate an increasing amount of sales. Obviously, the above recipe ebook is just an example. The principles above can be applied to almost any product/genre, allowing you to use your resellable ebook to promote and sell a premium product.

3) Sell an Affiliate Product:- If you don't have your own premium product then the same principles from above can be used to sell a product as an affiliate. An affiliate (if you do not know) is someone who sells a product in exchange for a commission on the sale. The one thing I would recommend if you are selling products as an affiliate, is to make sure that you have sampled the product before you promote it. Not only will it allow you to promote the product better (as you will actually know what you are talking about) but you will also be able to avoid products that are of a low quality.

If you are looking for a premium ebook to promote as an affiliate then ClickBank is a good place to start. It has ebooks on almost every topic you can imagine and the commissions are as generous as 75% in some cases. All you have to do is sign up and then generate affiliate links (through ClickBank) to promote each product. If buyers click and buy through your link, you will get a commission on the sale.

If you are looking for physical products to promote I would recommend Commission Junction. Again they have a very wide range of products and commissions vary from product to product. Like with ClickBank you can generate affiliate links via the Commission Junction website, and if a customer purchases through your affiliate link you get a commission on the sale.

4) Generate Leads:- If you don't have your own mailing list yet and are serious about doing business online then I have one simple suggestion. GET A MAILING LIST. It is quite possibly the most valuable asset you can possess in Internet Business. To explain the very basics of list building, you first need to sign up for an autoresponder programme (I use and recommend Aweber), build your list (using a variety of methods) and also maintain it (by providing value to your subscribers). Please bear in mind that this is a very, very basic analysis of list building and I would recommend you did some research on the topic before gettting your own list. I will be covering list building in one of my future 'Ebay Ebook Success' articles but if you cannot wait till then I would recommend Jim Cockrum's How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash. This is the ebook that I used to research and build my mailing list with the help of eBay traffic. Anyway, I'm going off topic here.

Once you have a mailing list, a resellable ebook can be a valuable source of leads. All you have to do is place a link inside the ebook for customers to sign up for your mailing list. Like before as distribution of your ebook increases, the number of leads it generates should also increase.

I hope this article has shown you the potential creating your own resellable ebook provides. Whereas someone else's resellable ebook can bring sales revenue, your own resellable ebook can bring this plus additional sales of your premium products, extra traffic, affiliate commissions and valuable leads. I am not suggesting that you cease to sell other people's resellable ebooks. In fact other people's resellable ebooks probably still comprise the majority of my eBay store inventory. However, even one or two of your own resellable ebooks can make a huge difference.

1. Purchase a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) HTML editor such as Adobe GoLive, Macromedia Dreamweaver or Microsoft FrontPage.
2. Make-your-own-web-pages using your editing/word processor program
3. FTP the files to your web-server.

All of these editing programs allow beginners to make-your-own- web-pages using templates and WYSIWYG. Simply create or select a pre-made template for making-your-own-web-page, type your content into the page on your screen, and hit the save button. All three of these programs come with instructions that are designed to help even the beginner web user to create a relatively professional looking website.

The only thing you need to take into deliberation is to make sure that if you are using Microsoft FrontPage that you go with a website hosting company that supports FrontPage extensions.

MAKE-YOUR-OWN-WEBPAGES

Exactly how you make-your-own-web-page will depend on the specific editor you use, however the process of all editors is remarkably similar.

1. Select or create a template for your site. With graphic design skills, choose to create something from scratch. Beginners just use one of the many pre-developed templates that come with editing programs.

2. Create pages for your site and type the text directly into the pages. The content will appear on the screen similar to the way it will appear in the final website.

3. Insert any graphics you will use for your site. In general, you should keep these to a minimum because each graphic you put into your page increases the download time. Also, you don't want too many animated gifs or flashy stuff on the page - they make the page appear unprofessional.

4. Test the site as you go. All editors contain a preview capability that will let you see the page in a web browser exactly as your visitors will see it. It is also a good idea to test your pages using multiple browsers since there is some variance as to how different browsers interpret HTML code. You should design your site to work effectively with the top three browsers: Microsoft Explorer, Firefox, and Netscape.

The most important thing in making-your-own-web-pages is to start. Amend your site a number of times before you ever actually post it online; but recognize that it does take time to make-your-own-web-page, especially your first time out. Its part of the learning curve and necessary to making sure you have thoroughly thought out each aspect of your site's navigation and content.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) FILES TO YOUR WEBSITE

When you purchase a web hosting service, the web host will give you FTP credentials consisting of the FTP site, user name and password for your account. Use this information to put the pages you create online.

GoLive, Dreamweaver and FrontPage all come with embedded FTP programs, so you can just enter your FTP credentials into their client and follow your program's instructions to publish your pages.

There are times, however, when you may want to FTP files to your FTP server without using your development environment's embedded FTP functionality. Therefore it's a good idea to go ahead and set up a separate client for uploading things like images, pdfs, or other linked objects. Go online and download a free FTP program. Several free FTP clients you may choose to use:

1. Leach FTP
2. WSFTP
3. Microsoft Explorer.

Type the FTP location into the browser and then enter your credentials into the popup box.

Install the program and then enter your FTP information into the connection screen. Once you have successfully connected to your FTP site, posting your web site is as easy as copying the files from your home computer to your website. That's it and you are on your way to making-your-own-web-page.
