As a kid I spent hours alone, practicing the cello, writing novels and playing with my pet mouse. Yes, I played with a gang of neighborhood kids, too, but there's always been a strong " lone ranger" streak in me. It wasn't until I was 36 years old that I finally began to understand fully the power and creative high of being a collaborator. I had started a handmade tile business with a friend, and we had to make hundreds of decisions every week about the business, from tile manufacturing processes and styles to sales and marketing, finances, and all the other aspects of a start-up business. Even though I had previously worked in companies and gotten along very well with my co-workers, I had pretty much done my own job. Of course I had to ask co-workers questions and get their input on various things, but with the tile company, it was a huge collaborative endeavor. It was exciting. It was challenging. It was creative. When I took off my lone ranger mask, I could see that I loved collaborating. A collaborator is defined as "An associate who works with others toward a common goal." In my current work as a business coach, I love collaborating with Chris Hutchinson, CEO of the Trebuchet Group, on ways to best serve our clients, owners and employees of mission-driven businesses and organizations. And every month my partner-in-life and I collaborate on a myriad of things, including discussing and editing Ordinary Brilliance. So what does collaboration really mean? It means setting aside the strong sense of individualism that runs through mainstream American culture and acknowledging the power of community and of passionate, highly functioning teams. It doesn't mean you give up your beliefs, opinion or identity. It does mean you get to experience the sizzle that happens in the creative chaos of collaboration. You might collaborate with your spouse/partner on your summer vacation plans. You might collaborate with a co-worker, or a professional colleague outside your own business, on coming up with a new product or service or a better way to deliver your those. As much as anyone, I tend to think I have the best idea. Yet when I collaborate, I always find that I end up with a much superior result, whatever the project is. So, even though I am a solo entrepreneur, I collaborate actively every day with intelligent, caring people, working together to serve people and the planet. If you are a lifelong collaborator, I applaud you. If you think you have some room to grow as a collaborator, then I encourage you to join me in that developmental process. Remember, even the Lone Ranger had Tonto.

Lone Pine, California doesn't look like much at first. It's a dusty desert town of a few thousand, on highway 395, on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. There might still be only one traffic light. So what makes it a great vacation destination? The Lone Pine Film Festival Here are some of the movies filmed in this part of California: Gunga Din, How The West Was Won, Star Trek, Tremors, Springfield Rifle, Joshua Tree, Gladiator, and Maverick. John Wayne, Gene Autry, Gary Cooper, Kirk Douglas, Robert Mitchum, William Boyd, and dozens of other movie stars have all spent time in Lone Pine. Television series filmed here include The Lone Ranger, Have A Gun, Bonanza, and Wagon Train. Spend much time in Lone Pine, and later, when you're watching movies at home, you'll find yourself saying "Hey I've been there." More than 200 movies, and numerous television series have been filmed in and around the area. The Lone Pine Film Festival, which is held in early October every year, features the classics, as well as more recent films. If you watch many movies, you can see familiar movie scenery any time of the year. The Alabama Hills Drive a few minutes south of Lone Pine, turn west, and you'll find the Alabama Hills, one of the most unique geological areas you'll ever see. Rounded and smooth rocks are piled up in the most amazing formations. You may recognize some of the scenery from old westerns. On the south side of town, at the visitors center, you can get free maps that will guide you to rock arches, caves and other sights. You'll have to walk into mazes of rocks to get to the better ones. Mount Whitney Lone Pine is the gateway to Mount Whitney. At 14,496 feet, it is the highest mountain in the lower 48 states. Whitney Portal Road starts in the center of town, and takes you 20 miles up to the trailhead and campground. The Whitney Portal Trail goes to the top. It's a strenuous hike, and the 22-mile round trip is best broken into two or three days, with a night or two spent in the beautiful high country. By the way, you'll find snow up there most of the year. The National Forest Service has designated much of the Inyo National Forest and Sequoia National Park around the mountain as "The Whitney Zone." To hike within this area you need a permit, which can be obtained from the inter-agency visitors center on Highway 395, just south of Lone Pine. Plan ahead, as permits are limited, and a seperate summit stamp may be required now to go to the peak of Whitney. There is a campground behind downtown - to the west, and several nice motels in Lone Pine. The visitor's center south of town has a lot of information on activities and sights in the area. The reservoir south of town is good for fishing and swimming. The Beverly and Jim Rogers Museum of Lone Pine Film History will open soon. Actors have gun battles in the local bar just to entertain you (no charge). My wife and I love Lone Pine. Where else in California, or anywhere else, can you - all in one day - go swimming, watch a gunfight, explore caves and rock formations in the desert, then drive up the mountain for a snowball fight?

The Dearborn based Ford Motor Company is still struggling to bring the company back to profitability. Crucial decisions needs to be made since time is not on their side as well as the trend in the auto market. One issue that Ford is in the process of deciding is whether they will continue their involvement in the compact pickup truck market. According to Mark Fields, they are still thinking about whether they will continue their foray in that segment. Fields though did not made public when they are expecting to reach a decision on the fate of their entry to the compact pickup segment - the Ford Ranger. The Ford Ranger has been in the lineup of FoMoCo since 1983. The compact pickup’s point of origin in the United States is Ford’s Twin Cities assembly facility in Minnesota. The assembly facility though is scheduled to be closed down as part of Ford’s Way Forward. The said program is the turnaround plan for the Michigan carmaker. Since the plant is about to be closed, Ford may move the production of the Ranger to other plants. Another option for Ford is to take the production of the Ford Ranger to Thailand. The said Asian country is the second biggest market for pickup trucks. Producing the Ford Ranger in that country would give the company an advantage in that market. A drawback though is that since Thailand does not have a free trade agreement with the United States, exporting the Thai-produced to the United States would mean that they would produce very little profit. Another option open for Ford is to altogether shelve the aging compact pickup along with its Ranger parts>Ford Ranger parts. One reason for this option is the declining demand for the compact pickup. Last year, Ford reported that they have sold 24 percent less compact pickup trucks compared to 2005. And the woes in the segment continue as the company reports a four percent slump from January to May this year. This third option is not an unlikely decision for Ford to take. It can be remembered that when minivans produced by the car manufacturer showed declining sales, the company discontinued the production of such vehicles. When asked whether Ford will shelve the Ranger, Fields commented that they will be picking their shots. If Ford decides to focus on its strength, then the Ranger may be on its way out. The midsize SUV segment offering from Ford is also showing signs of decline in the past years. Fields though said that what they are taking in from the sale of the Ford Explorer is still substantial which means that the Explorer is safe right now - even safer than the Ranger. But experts pointed out that whatever Ford does to the Ranger in North America will not affect the Rangers in Europe and Asia. This is because Ford already unveiled a redesigned Ranger pickup for the European auto market last year. This means that they are still doing well in Europe and the redesign is to further increase their buyer base in the continent. The new Ranger pickup unveiled in Europe at last year’s Paris Auto Show is developed by Ford in cooperation with Mazda. Ford has a controlling share in the Asian manufacturer. With the tie up between them, the Ford Ranger for Europe was designed in Japan and was manufactured in Ford’s assembly facility in Thailand.

Ford has something in store for this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show and its going to have extra equipment, zesty colors, and a new engine. The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is renowned for its strong towing power, and car-like comfort. For this year the new Ranger will sport additional style and capabilities to the range. The new Ranger has a stylish, aerodynamic sports bar, rear box rail extensions, lower sports cladding and tail lamp protectors to enhance its appearance. Side intake 'gills' add to the visual effect although the addition of nerf bars may also do it good. Its new integrated door mirror indicators as well as puddle lamps provide additional differentiation and Wildtrak decals on the front, side and rear identify it as a special Ford Ranger. To further boost the stylish features of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, new alloy wheels, side steps, a new sports front grille, roof rails, an aluminum style front over rider, an integrated bedliner and a rear protection bar with integrated park distance control are added. The cabin also features all-new heated seats in leather and perforated alcantara with orange tricot backing, new sports steering wheel, floor mats with Wildtrak logo, dash-mounted off-road 'information centre', footwell lighting and premium interior. The new Wildtrak scuff plates complete the package. The Ford Ranger Wildtrak is offered with an exclusive range of unique two-tone colours---- Chilli Orange or Passion Red combined with Titanium Grey on the lower part of the body for a truly striking appearance. The other body colors that can be combined with Titanium Grey are Storm Black, Andaman Blue, Steel Silver, and Strato Blue. Under the hood is a new and powerful 3.0-litre TDCi engine that produces 156PS and 380Nm of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is modified to increase fuel economy while maintaining good overtaking ability. According to Steve Kimber, commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain, "The latest Ford Ranger is selling faster than the previous model. The new Wildtrak will take us deeper into the fiercely competitive pick-up market with a truck that really makes a statement." Tough Ford Ranger Pickups parade in pink... And speaking of Ford Rangers, in Salford, England a fleet of tough–looking Ford Ranger pickups has paraded the streets painted in pink insignia. The pink Rangers acquired by the Salford City Council feature one of the first tipper conversions ever carried out on the new-generation model. The six Ford Ranger 2.5 TDCi Regular Cab 4x2s have been fitted with steel caged bodies. The pink finished used for the Ford Rangers were based on the color used for the Council’s street-cleansing department. Ford Rangers were chosen over other bigger vehicles because they can be easily maneuvered in any city street, even where weight or width restrictions apply. The conversion features a 2.3m tipper body, with single dropside, 2.5mm floor, heavy-duty ladder gantry and one-man-operated body-prop. The cage was made 30cm higher than the cab and makes use of 2.5cm galvanized mesh infill and was provided a nearside sliding access door and barn doors above the tailgate. Salford City Council’s Transport Manager Terry Dixie said, “The Rangers are superb. Our concern is with paper bulk, rather than weight. This provides an opportunity to reduce vehicle size. The Ranger is less expensive than a conventional 3.5-tonne tipper vehicle, provides superior fuel economy and its robust design promises a long life. We anticipate higher residuals with the Ranger than we would with a conventional tipper.” And in view with Salford City Council’s eco-friendly policy, the Ranger tippers run on bio-diesel. The council also has a number of Ford Transit Connects that operates on general delivery duties. The Salford City Council's hard-working Ford Rangers are expected to cover a surprisingly high mileage, and to show more than 75,000 miles on the clock at the end of their five-year cycle.

Ford Ranger’s days are numbered. But Ranger, exiting production assembly line, is showing some life. It wasn’t that sad at all. Ford February sales report reflects notable sales gain of the Ranger. The gain is driven in part by incentives that keep pickups moving. With just a year prior to the scheduled closure of the Ranger plant in St. Paul, the truck is seeing signs of a sales rebound. In February, Ranger sales soared 27 percent over the same month last year. February was the second month in a row the truck has seen sales gain, reported Ford Motor Co. Prior to January, it had been years since the truck had recorded a month-to-month sales gain. Last month, the Dearborn-based automaker sold 7,431 Rangers compared to 5,850 it sold in the same month last year. On the contrary, the F-Series full-size truck saw sales dived five percent last month. "That little Ranger that could is still doing well," said Jim Farley, Ford's group vice president for marketing and communications. Equipped with quality Ranger parts>Ford Ranger parts, the truck is expected to lure more shoppers in its last days. Ford is offering special incentives on the Ranger in America’s Sun Belt, extending from Florida to Texas and California. In those territories, "the compact truck market continues to be robust," Farley said in a conference call, especially for shoppers buying 4x2 models. The incentives "are not something we're going to offer every month," he said, but the automaker is happy with how sales have performed recently. According to watchers in the industry, escalating gasoline prices may also have contributed to the brisk sales of Rangers. Currently, the automaker’s lineup of small cars and crossover utility vehicles are selling better than its full-sized trucks and SUVs. "We don't have very many (Rangers). We're just sold out," beamed Roger Kamp, new car sales manager at Power Ford in North Scottsdale, Ariz. "I'm waiting for more to come in." All the Ranger buyers he sees want the larger crew-cab models, Kamp said. Bearing price stickers that start under $20,000, "it's a great price point for all customers, for someone who doesn't want to spend $30,000 for a full-sized (truck)." Dan Zeller, a manager at Metro Ford in Dallas, said that from his experience, the sales spike was related to commercial orders for Rangers. Several of his large commercial fleet customers took delivery of Rangers in February, following what Zeller thinks was a backlog of orders, TwinCities reported. Ford extended the life of the St. Paul plant in November, saying it would shut sometime in 2009 instead of later this year.

When Power Ranger becomes the subject of a tête-à-tête, what first comes to mind is the long-running children’s television show that lasted for three seasons. With the introduction of the new Ranger from Ford Motor Co., the automaker is giving people one good reason to push Mighty Morphin Power Rangers behind to pave way for a valiant uphill warrior. Ford Australia launched the 2007 Ranger as a replacement for the Courier, an old American pickup. "Setting new standards in the light commercial sector, the all-new Ford Ranger is a no-compromise, powerful vehicle offering the style, comfort and refinement of a passenger car," said Ford Australia President Tom Gorman. "The new Ranger is more powerful compared with Courier, offers improved functionality, significantly increased three-tonne towing ability (when using a 3.0-litre manual transmission model fitted with a genuine Ford towpack and load leveling kit), and maintains a one-tonne plus payload across the range. Ford engineers have built on the company’s vast experience in trucks to deliver the ultimate one-tonne vehicle with the performance and power to get the job done.” Gorman added, "At the same time, we recognized that Ranger had to be versatile enough to adapt to the changing needs of the light commercial owner in the 21st century. It needs to be a combination of reliable work mate, family vehicle, lifestyle statement and an adventure vehicle. We engineered Ranger to deliver on all these expectations. It’s the can do truck – a truck that means business." Gorman noted that the change of name was resorted to after numerous hours of exhaustive customer research and brainstorming. “It was a tough decision to change a name that has been part of the Ford Australia family since 1978, but the research was overwhelming. The light commercial vehicle sector has changed dramatically in recent years, with customers wanting more from their truck than just a reliable work vehicle. Today's light truck owner wants the best of both worlds – a dependable, genuine truck for the industrious worker and a great family vehicle with the quality, comfort, safety and modern conveniences they demand. Ranger researched well as a brand name that exemplified all these attributes,” said Gorman. Ford’s Ranger brand is used by the automaker around the globe. According to the company, this is the ideal time to introduce in Australia a new light truck with a bold new name. Ranger is designed to radiate a bolder and more aggressive charisma with a modern car-like interior. The pickup is equipped with two new common-rail turbo-diesel engines featuring direct injection, enhanced ride and handling and appreciably higher towing capacity. The pickup was designed by the automaker’s pool of engineers to appear tough and rugged to stand the most demanding truck applications. “We listened to the market and focused our improvements on Ranger’s classic rugged exterior, its refined and comfortable interior, exceptional diesel performance, great driving feel and fantastic ability both on and off-road," added Gorman. All-new Ranger was redesigned to give it a longer wheelbase and cab. To raise its capabilities to the maximum, the twin I-beam front suspension was replaced by a wishbone-style system. In addition, the new Ranger is offered with a 143 horsepower 2.3 L I4, a 148 horsepower 3.0 L V6, and a 207 horsepower 4.0 L V6 engines. All transmissions are 5-speed and come with a choice of manual or automatic. Adding an APC Cold Air Intake would also help boost the performance of the vehicle. "The light commercial segment is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing in the Australian market," concluded Gorman. "The new Ranger, with its impressive list of features, gives Ford Australia a fantastic vehicle to enhance our well earned light truck reputation."

Ford Motors has been giving the public what can be seen as one of the best compact sized pickup since it released the Ford Ranger. Numerous buyers appreciate the driving capability and the over all performance of the vehicle, not to mention its conservative styling that commands attention from onlookers. The 2007 version of the Ford Ranger is no exception to the continuing excellence exhibited by the company in producing quality vehicles. The latest installment from the automotive giant is now available either in a 4 cylinder engine or one of the two V6 engines available. The buyer can also choose from either a manual or a five speed automatic transmission. Aside from these choices, buyers are also given the option to choose what they would like to have, from audio systems to skid plates. The size of the truck is also an option; buyers can choose from three different sizes, with a choice of two cabs and bed lengths. The difference between the models can be seen on their bumpers. The XL models sports a black bumper and a black bar-style grille while the XLT variation has chrome bumpers and a chrome grille surround. Another model available is the Sport which gets a honeycomb grille and body-colored bumpers. This model is aimed at the younger generation and can be equipped with a Tremor MP3 audio and a wheel package, this exudes the assertive look and ride height of the Ranger at a reasonably lower price. Common to all trim packages of the 2007 model of the Ranger is a tire pressure monitoring system. Also common among most of the models is an audio input jack for all stereo; the only exception is the base AM/FM receiver. Comfort for the driver and the passenger as well is provided by either a bucket seat or a 60/40- split bench. In the Ford Ranger SuperCab model (an extended cab version of the Ranger) a pair of jump seats can be added, but like most jump seats, it is best left for children. Engine choices include a 2.3 liter four-cylinder with a maximum output of 143 horsepower; a 3.0 liter V6 with 148 horses; and a 4.0 liter V6 engine capable of producing 207 units of horsepower. Transmissions can either be a five speed manual or a five speed automatic one. The cars can either be a rear wheel drive or an all wheel drive with a dashboard switch that can engage the all wheel drive configuration while the vehicle is running. All these new models no matter what the trim package is, is a great car to drive, exhibiting steering responsiveness that only precision engineering can bring to life. The suspension is also enough to make any ride comfortable even on off road conditions. But if you are looking to make this an urban vehicle, just exchange the stock coil springs for Eibach springs and increase the stability of your car and make increase its “coolness” factor.

100th Anniversary of Memorial Statue On Saturday June 16, 2007 re-enactors, historians, public servants, and visitors to the State Capitol in Austin, Texas gathered at the foot of the Terry's Texas Ranger Memorial. In a ceremony marking the100th anniversary of the statue, paid for by the Rangers themselves, people gathered for the event. The equestrian statue is located on the south side of the Capitol just outside the entrance. It was created by Italian -born Pompeo Coppinni at a cost of $10,000 dollars in 1907. The statue features a watchful Texas Ranger mounted on an alert horse. Coppinni also designed the Centennial Anniversary coin and many statues at Texas A&M, the University of Texas and other locations throughout the state. The re-enactors entered the capitol grounds from the west side. The flags of 16 states and 9 nations were draped across the rider less horses. Once there, the Rangers commander introduced himself. He then paid honor to the descendents of B. F. Terry who were there for the event, along with other descendents from Waco, Dallas and Gonzales. State Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson spoke on the need to preserve history and honor Texas soldiers. He emphasized that Texas values its veterans whether Confederate, Union, Buffalo Soldiers or from modern conflicts. He was followed by Jeff Murrah, a resident of Shoreacres, Texas who also recently received a commission as Admiral in the Texas Navy from Governor Rick Perry. Jeff delivered the keynote on Terry's Texas Rangers and released his new book on Texas history, Texans Always Move Them: A True History of Texas (available at www.NoneButTexians.com). A list of the contents buried within the statue was also presented to the crowd gathered in Austin. In true Ranger style, the crowd cheered when their states or nations were announced. He recounted the history and accomplishments of the Rangers during their time of service and after the war. He also read a list of the artifacts buried within the statue. His comments were followed by a rifle salute. The rifle salute has already been posted at www.YouTube.com on the internet.

We left Sydney about 7am for the 1hr trip down the M5 to the Southern Highlands. The brand new Hino Ranger Pro 10 (GH1J) we were in moved along the highway smoothly until we hit †̃Cutaway' hill just south of Mittagong. We noted that in sixth gear we had dropped from 90kmph back to 62kmph by the time we were about three quarters of the way up. We were heading for Berrima Diesel Service to have a DPChip fitted to the Ranger and anticipated a good improvement from what we had been told about this device. Before long we were pulling into the driveway and being greeted by Andrew who was going to fit the device for us today. The DPChip is a simple plug in device for EFI diesel vehicles which can improve power and torque by altering the engine management parameters to maximise efficiency. All engines come out of the factory set quite conservatively for a variety of reasons. A good example of this is evident in the Ranger Pro series with a variety of outputs from the same engine. The DPChip plugs in after the vehicle's ECU (on the Ranger it required a small harness and a few wires connecting in so the DPChip could then plug in) and intercepts the signals being sent to the engine. It then modifies and enhances these signals, within safe tolerances, and sends them on their way to the engine, with power and torque being greatly improved. An added benefit is often a fuel saving with improved economy as gear changes become smoother and less often required. Andrew had the DPChip fitted up in about 35mins and we were ready for a test drive to fine tune it to the Ranger. A simple adjuster on the side of the module was used for adjustment. (Note: There is also facility for laptop adjustment in some models.) Instantly we could notice the benefits as the truck pulled up the hill out of Berrima after rolling on at 1200 revs in 6th (Top)gear. There was definitely more power available and it felt a much smoother ride. The real test would be on Cutaway hill which we had used as a benchmark on the way in. After a few tweaks on the DPChip, Andrew was happy with the settings. We hit the hill at 90kmph in sixth gear again and the difference was substantial. By the same point at which we had to change down before (about Â3⁄4 the way up doing 62kmph) we were now still doing a comfortable 78kmph in top gear! The Ranger definitely had more get up and go and was a real pleasure to drive on the run back to Sydney. Andrew was happy to tell us that we will probably get better consumption too and that any concerns we had of tweaking the engine were put to rest as he explained that the original engine management safety systems are left intact and operational with the DPChip ensuring safety and longevity of the engine. I'm sure you'll be impressed with the extra power this tiny plug-in box can give your vehicle. If you find hills a struggle or just feel your truck could do with a bit of extra get up and go then I'm sure you'll find the DPChip a real benefit. They are available through various workshops and retail outlets throughout Australia for all EFI Diesel engines (cars, 4wd's, trucks, light commercials, agricultural machinery, construction equipment and boats).

Park rangers are nature lovers by nature. They enjoy being and working outside. Perhaps it is the fresh air that they enjoy so much. Or, it is the wide open space. It could also be the interaction with the park visitors or all of the above. Whatever it is that drives someone to the park ranger profession, one thing is for sure, they must also enjoy wearing many hats. This is because park rangers get involved in so many things in the course of doing their job. In this article, I will discuss the many hats a park ranger could wear in discharging his or her duties. In no particular order of importance, they are: 1. The park ranger could be called to wear the hat of a law enforcement officer. This will mean ticketing or arresting a park visitor. You see, just as in anywhere else in life, the law can be broken in the park. For example, a park visitor can indulge in too much alcohol consumption in the cause of enjoying what the park has to offer. And we know what too much alcohol consumption can lead to. This person can become unruly or abusive to other park visitors. In this case, it is the job of the park ranger to arrest or evict the person from the park. The failure of the park ranger to do this, could lead to dangerous situations. One of them could be somebody getting killed or seriously injured. 2. The park ranger could be called upon to control forest fire. Forest fire can be devastating. Families have lost their homes and valuables because of forest fire. Add to this the loss of wildlife. Then, you begin to understand why it is important to control forest fire. Park rangers are one of the government agencies entrusted with controlling forest fire. They must watch park visitors to make sure they don t start fires that can rage out of hand. Something as simple as throwing a cigarette butt out can start a forest fire. While ordinary park visitors may not know this, park rangers know this too well. So they must educate and watch park visitors to keep this from happening. 3. The park ranger could be called to wear the hat of a search and rescue person. It is quite easy for park visitors to wander too far from other people. This is especially so for children. They can easily stray too far from their family and not be able to find their way back. In this case, the park ranger must help locate them before something harmful happens to them. Another thing that also easily gets lost in the park is animals. Dogs and cats are perfect examples. One minute they could be with their owners, the next minute they could run too far into the woods. Here again, the ranger must come to the rescue. The park ranger does indeed wear many hats. I have only scratched the surface. If you are interested in the park ranger career, I encourage you to do more research on what you will be doing on the job. This way, you will have no surprises after you get into the profession. You can do so by visiting websites which cover the park ranger career in more detail. Note: You are free to reprint or republish this article. Texas is more than a state; it's a state of mind. Texans are proud of their state (which used to be an independent nation) and there are lots of reasons why - Texas hospitality, Tex-Mex food, a great tradition of Texas music, and plenty of natural beauty. If you want to get out and see the country in your recreational vehicle, Texas has lots to offer. East Texas has the best of the American south, with woodlands and lots of water. Further up in the Texas panhandle, everything is flat and green with endless blue skies. Out in western and southern Texas, the land becomes desert and you can camp right against the border. Texas is huge, and there are things to see in every corner. Big Bend National Park, located in the far southwest corner of Texas, is known for its rugged beauty, and also for its isolation. This makes it a great spot for those who want to get away from it all. While most of the country has been divided up and tamed, Big Bend is still wilderness at its best. You'll find a variety of natural wonders in Big Bend - from the Rio Grande River to the sky high mountain basins only an hour's drive away. The park also features desert, which is why it's like three parks in one. There are three campgrounds run by the National Park where you can take a motor home. Between these three parks, you can find something to suit your needs. Make a reservation if you plan to head out there. For more rugged camping in Big Bend, try the Basin Campground. The drive down can be dangerous for big rigs, so this site is recommended for smaller motor homes. Big rig parking can also be difficult here. Still, it's a great place if you want to really be deep in the wilderness. Enchanted Rock is named after a giant rock that inspired fear in both Indians and settlers alike. The Indians of the area believed the huge rock was inhabited by ghosts, and early adventurers avoided exploration for years by because they believed it swallowed people. Located mid-state near Fredericksburg, the Enchanted Rock sits right on the edge of the Big Sandy Creek. It is one of the biggest "batholiths" (giant underground rocks) that has been uncovered by erosion. Nowadays, the ghosts are all gone, and you can go hiking, climbing and backpacking on the rock. If you don't feel up to climbing it, there are plenty of hiking trails that surround the rock, where you can get a good view of it. Unfortunately, you won't be staying in your motor home right at the edge of the rock. The camping close to the rock has no RV hookups and no sites big enough to pull in to. You're better staying in Fredericksburg. One good spot in Fredericksburg is the Fredericksburg RV Park, a nice facility with all the conveniences you could want. It has 100 sites, Internet access, cable TV and pretty scenery. They take reservations If you don't want to be land-locked, Padre Island National Seashore is an option. It is located just south of Corpus Christi, and stretches along the Laguna Madre. It is a barrier island with lots of wildlife, native plants and activities to enjoy. It's the longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island in the world. In addition to the ocean, Padre Island has rare animals including exotic birds and sea turtles. Watching the birds and the sea turtle releases are big tourist attractions. There is also great camping, a sky full of stars, and outdoor activities like bicycling to enjoy. Destination South Padre RV Resort is perfect for all rigs. It's made specifically for recreational vehicles and offers a great view of the Laguna. It can be crowded during the tourist season, but with great views of the Gulf of Mexico and cooling ocean breezes, it is a popular spot. They take reservations. There are things to do and see throughout the state. You can easily spend a couple of weeks touring around the state. The Lone Star State is a great place to explore with your recreational vehicle.

Gone are the days when businesses used to be all about a one man show. Today, responsibility is best delegated to people down in the hierarchy. With more focus being towards core competencies, all mid- and low-level work is gradually being outsourced. So, are you the lone wolf who hordes all the work or part of the pack? Freelance sites Today freelancers are all located over the world and they are readily available to take on work regarding specific projects. Depending on their specialized area of expertise, you can delegate all your non-core projects to them. The good thing about such freelancers is that they provide you with high quality services at a fraction of the cost. It's a win-win situation for all parties involved. You as a service buyer get good quality work at lesser cost. The freelancer gets paid a good amount for the project completed. There are plenty of freelance sites these days such as Elance, Rent a Coder, etc. which all promise high quality talent. Virtual assistants Hectic deadlines, marketing initiatives, strategic business opportunities waiting to be tapped - does your calendar sound like this? If so, you are just like the many other entrepreneurs who are overburdened with work. To top it all, you also have to take care of essential yet non-value added work like maintenance and support, clerical jobs etc. If you wish to focus on your core competency and leave the burden of these mid- and low-level jobs to someone reliable, consider hiring a virtual assistant. You can avail a plethora of back office support functionalities at a fraction of the cost. Since all virtual assistants are self employed, any overhead costs they bear are at their own expense. So that also saves you considerable money. You only pay for the number of hours put in - unlike in your office where even downtime needs to be paid for. This saves you from a lot of overhead costs and unnecessary expenses. Many small businesses are slowly waking up to the tremendous benefits of such virtual assistant services online. Product development Nowadays many companies are even outsourcing components of their product development lifecycle activities. While crucial and company sensitive stages like architecture and conceptualization are still retained, the more non-sensitive steps like coding and testing have largely been outsourced. The reason is that the overall costs of custom development and implementation costs much less when compared to doing it in-house. Delegation is the key Today the mantra of success is to move away from micro-management and focus on the core areas. If you are a business owner you need to stop focusing on the entire daily nitty-gritty's of work and instead focus on more strategic business moves. Factors such as expanding into new territories, fine-tuning marketing campaigns, lead generation strategies etc. should top your list of activities, as opposed to activities like website maintenance, organizing and scheduling meetings etc. However, while delegation is important in today's world, every good manager knows that delegation can be recalled if the situation demands. That's why it is important to be on top of things and be aware of what's happening in every aspect of the business. (c) 2007, Doug and Claudia Brown. All rights reserved. Shakespeare said that “every man has business and desire, such as it is.” For Bard Ventures (TSX.V: CBS), that business and desire is to find BC’s next molybdenum mine as it completes the latest phase of a 10,000 meter diamond drill program on its Lone Pine Property in the northern part of the province. As per the company’s most recent press release, drilling is underway with four holes already drilled. So far, all holes have encountered visual molybdenum mineralization. The Lone Pine Property consists of seven mineral claims over a 1,051-hectare area in the Omineca Mining Division, approximately 15 km north-northwest of Houston, BC, (700 km north of Vancouver). The area is extremely well-serviced in terms of infrastructure. A power transmission line and a gas pipeline both run through the property, with a BC Hydro substation on its western edge. Highway 16 (the Yellowhead) runs through the western corner of the property. According to the company’s website, the Lone Pine area “extends over several molybdenum showings (Quartz Breccia, Alaskite Zone, Mineral Hill, and Granby, etc.), that have been previously documented in various assessment and government reports (Minfile Nos. 093L 027, and 093L 028).” There has been a great deal of interest around the Lone Pine area since the early 20th century. As well, much geological, geophysical, and geochemical work has been done on the property in the last 30 years. Previous explorers at Lone Pine include Canex, Molymines, Cominco, Granby, and Noranda. The property has been the subject of several drill programs since the 1970s, and in 1978, a hole drilled in the Quartz Breccia Zone returned 356.3 m of 0.068% MoS2, which includes 154 m of 0.088% MoS2. A second deeper drill hole, drilled approximately one km apart from the Quartz Breccia Zone hole, was drilled in the Alaskite Zone and returned 343.7 m of 0.06% MoS2, including 101.4 m of 0.078% MoS2. It is important to note that past programs were limited to probing shallowly beneath known surface mineralization, and that the extent of the mineralization has not yet been fully delineated. The last few years have underscored a trend in British Columbia of revisiting and reevaluating old molybdenum showings. Despite the historic interest in Lone Pine, previous explorers were discouraged from pursuing such projects due to low molybdenum prices. However, with molybdenum currently trading at around US $34 per lb., many of these old showings are now economically viable. “The lithology, alteration and style of mineralization in the suite of samples from the Lone Pine Mo-Cu porphyry prospect are comparable to porphyry-type Mo-Cu deposits on the global scale, “said consulting geologist Dr. Eva Schandl, in summarizing her detailed petrographic report on 18 drill core samples taken from the property. The company is taking a two-pronged exploration approach. The first phase involved data compilation, line cutting, mapping, and a 3D IP geophysical survey. Interpretation and integration of all data has been completed, resulting in diamond drill targets being selected. The second phase– now underway– is an ambitious drilling program, with four holes completed to date. The USGS’ 2007 molybdenum fact sheet states that “molybdenum occurs as the principal metal sulfide in large low-grade porphyry molybdenum deposits and as an associated metal sulfide in low-grade porphyry copper deposits.” It is most often found as a byproduct of porphyry copper mining. Molybdenum has the sixth highest melting point of any element; hence it is often used in making high-strength steel. It is extremely versatile, non-toxic, and is highly resistant to corrosion. Its ability to withstand extreme temperatures without significantly expanding or softening make it useful in applications that involve intense heat, for example– electrical filaments, aircraft parts, industrial motors, and electrical contacts. Bard has several distinct advantages as a junior moly play. The company’s management are all veterans of the business; its president, Eugene Beukman, is a South African with over twenty years’ experience in the mining business, having gleaned some of that experience as a legal advisor to the predecessor of BHP Billiton. The company focuses its efforts in British Columbia – one of the world’s major molybdenum producers. Another advantage is that it is possible to drill year-round at Lone Pine, compared to other parts of the province that may be subject to major snowfall. The area is also unusual in B.C. in that it has absolutely everything in terms of infrastructure, which does a great deal to defray operating costs. . The Lone Pine project has enjoyed a great deal of historic interest and has progressed to the advanced drill stage, making this is a particularly opportune time for investors as the company awaits assay results to confirm encouraging historic findings. A few good holes could easily pave the way for Bard’s investors to realize some near-term gains. The company is at a pivotal stage in terms of development, and its investors could well be quoting the Bard himself in the coming weeks: “Fortune now /To my heart's hope!/ Gold; silver; and base lead.” (Merchant of Venice, Act II, Scene 9) This article is intended for information purposes only, and is not a recommendation to buy or sell the equities of any company mentioned herein. When it comes to racing it’s always been a question of the engine used and other power components that an automobile possess which extends up to the quality of exhaust systems employed. And one of the popular exhaust system utilized by some of the most powerful brands of automobiles in the industry may it be Ford, Toyota, Honda, Chrysler, or General Motors-- is the flowmaster exhaust systems. The the flowmaster exhaust improves acceleration and passing power as well as improved fuel mileage simply perfect for any racing event. And speaking of race, the American Le Mans Series heads toward the Southwest for round number four—the Lone Star Grand Prix of Houston scheduled this coming Saturday evening. The Porsche teams that were involved in both the LMP2 and GT2 classes are to face tough competitions on both the prototype and GT levels. During the LMP2 class the Porsche RS Spyders have earned class wins plus an overall win in the past two street races however it was the Acura prototype that earned the pole at Long Beach and won the opening ALMS round at Sebring. In GT2, it was the new comer 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR that finished second to the Ferrari in all three races. Porsche trails the manufacturers chase by only 12 points going into Houston. However Porsche Motorsport North America President Uwe Brettel would rather be way ahead in both categories but also stressed out the point that a close competition is good for the classes and equally good for the series. It can remembered that last year both the Penske Porsche RS Spyders were not able to finish the Houston event due to the transmission problems caused by too much beating that the vehicles obtain from the bumpy track surface. The overall victory achieved by Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard in the LMP2 class Penske Porsche RS Spyder was the second one-two overall finish in the American Le Mans Series obtained for Porsche. The same Dumas/Bernhard combination won the feat at the Mid-Ohio last year. This is also the first time for a manufacturer to sweep the overall podium in ALMS. The Lone Star Grand Prix at Houston’s JAGFlo Speedway at Reliant Park will start on Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 pm EDT and will run for two hours and 45 minutes. The race will also be telecast on CBS Sports on a tape-delayed basis at 1 pm EDT on April 29. American Le Mans Radio and IMSA’s Live Timing and Scoring will be available at www.americanlemans.com during the race while information on Porsche drivers as well as on the team is available at porschemotorsport.com.

Since the birth of the Ford Ranger in the 1980s, its reliability has become a benchmark for all compact pickup trucks. As a matter of fact, it was the best-selling compact pickup truck in the entire America from 1987 up to 2004. When Ford developed the Ranger, the goal was to create a new truck that was as capable as the full-size F-Series, but in a more economical package. Thus it shared the same styling and architecture packaged in a four-wheel drive. A common standard for trucks is the ability to haul a 4 ft-wide sheet of plywood. Although the space between the wheel wells in the Ranger was less than four feet, Ford ensured that the box’s design would still allow the hauling of the standard plywood sheet. By 1998, Ford even came up with an electric version of the Ford Ranger aptly named the Ford Ranger EV or Electric Ranger. It was able to survive almost three years in the market, until its production finally ceased. As Ford decided to invest in the Ford Explorer SUV which was more advanced than the Ranger, the sales of the latter dropped. The Ford Taurus suffered the same fate when two new nameplates emerged. Since then, all of its competitors ranging from the Dodge Dakota to the Toyota Tacoma have undergone a number of redesigns. They were enlarged for the mid-size market, with the Dakota featuring a V8 engine. This ultimately left the Ranger and its twin-automobile, the Mazda B-Series, the only compact trucks in the market. Up to this day, the four generations of genuine Ford mastery has made it possible for the drivers to invest in a compact pickup truck that will carry on through generations of Ford loyalty. Complete in all its glory, the Ford Ranger still continues to dominate the pickup truck scene. Likewise, the ranger/parts.html title=Ford Ranger parts>Ford Ranger parts and accessories incessantly provide all the trucking needs of the people. With its off-road capacities similar to an off-road vehicle’s, the Ranger was able to cultivate the Ford Ranger parts and the Ford Ranger parts accessories well enough for the satisfaction of the real truck driver. From the creation of the first Ford Ranger to the day that the last Ford Ranger rolled out of the Ford factory, it will remain to be the epitome of what a road ranger should be made of---powerful performance and stylish impression, just like the Ford Ranger parts and accessories.
