The world's population has increased by 100% in the last 40 years, and more citizens means more marketing competition. When taming an intricate behemoth such as internet marketing, oftentimes even the easiest principles can go unnoticed. "Karmic marketing" or the "Laws of Reciprocity" are examples of simplistic ideas which govern complex entities such as the internet. Karmic marketing is something rarely brought up in traditional circles of internet marketing. Doing unto others as you would have done to you is a karmic concept dating back to the beginning of mankind, like gravity. Regardless of your personal feelings toward karma and others of its kind, a karmic strategy is good for sales. What is the most efficient way to build business via karmic marketing? A revolving door of gifts and bonuses is a legitimate way to convey to your internet customers that you value their time, and maybe more importantly, that you want them to return. After all, who doesn't enjoy free stuff? Patrons' responses will be, "Fabulous. I'm getting something else?! This is wonderful!" You see, when people get something on a regular basis, something that they expect to have in their possession every month, certain people will just ignore it. They stop listening to it. They stop watching it. However, when you send merchandise and sporadically provide a limited time offer, people cannot predict what you will do next. So, whether you run a home business or an online business, karmic marketing will benefit you. Make karmic marketing work for you. Though the Law of Karma is simply stated - 'as you sow, so shall you reap' - it is no simplistic, tit-for-tat theory, nor is it an arbitrary human creation. The Law of Karma is another name for Newton's Third Law of Motion: 'for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.' As such, it is inherent in the universe's structure: 'The doctrine of karman and phala, act and fruit, is less a product of man's sense of justice, that one shall be punished for what one has done, than a necessary consequence of the doctrine of the inherent efficacy of the acts'. Everything does not happen all at once in our world, thanks to the inherent limitations of time, space and causation. A tree and the seed from which it sprang cannot exist simultaneously; the former must develop from the latter. Events occur in our universe according to a sequence, which is scheduled by the Law of Karma on the great calendar known as time. In living individual beings the Law of Karma acts primarily at the level of ahamkara. Humans, who have much more self-awareness than do animals or plants, have a proportionately greater ability to self-identify with their actions. What they sow and reap depends on the relative balance of the Three Gunas in their personalities. When Sattva predominates, a person performs altruistic karmas, unattached to their results, while a predomination of Rajas causes one to act from passion, blinded by desires. Those who act without thinking act from a predominance of Tamas. Only those whose minds are fixed solely on the Absolute remain untouched by the Three Gunas. Astrologer attempt in their analyses to interpret the varieties and intensities of a person's karmas in particular domains of life. Sanchita Karmas are assumed to form a constant karmic background that is not totally comprehensible by ordinary means, Jyotish included. It is Sanchita Karma that prompts Indians to claim that the ways of karma are unfathomable. Prarabdha, Kriyamana and Agama Karmas are, however, knowable through Jyotish. Astrology assumes that the human condition always arises from a dynamic interaction between fate and free will. Fate is fundamentally an expression of the Sanchita and Prarabdha Karmas, and free will the result of Kriyamana and Agama Karmas. Agama and Kriyamana Karmas eternally evolve into Sanchita and Prarabdha Karmas with the passage of time, the axle that turns the great wheel of karma. What was done by free will today acts as the cause of what is experienced as fate tomorrow. Though no one is ruled by fate alone, it may seem so until true free will emerges. Only when free will emerges can the quantity and qualities of effort invested in modifying a situation equal or exceed the quantity and quality of effort that created the situation; only then can transformation, as opposed to simple change in life, be achieved. The quantity and quality of effort required to after previous karmas depends on the intensity of the Prarabdha Karma. The three degrees of karmic intensity which may apply to one, many, or all areas of a person's life are: 1. Dridha (fixed) Karma 2. Dridha - Adridha (fixed/non-fixed) Karma 3. Adridha (non-fixed) Karma 1. Dridha Karma Dridha Karmas give fixed results because they are so difficult to change that are practically non-changeable. These karmas, pleasurable or painful, are destined to be experienced because of the intensity of their causes. Most people have noticed that from time to time an experience simply 'happens', despite all efforts to avoid its occurrence. If, for example, a pregnant woman who has enjoyed perfect health before and during her pregnancy and who has had the best of medical care delivers a child with a congenital deformity, a Jyotishi might well find that she was experiencing Dridha Prarabdha Karma concerning children, and that her child was experiencing Dridha Prarabdha Karma concerning its body. Remember that this kind of karma may be pleasurable as well as painful; as we all know, those who seem the least deserving are often those who get ahead in life. Dridha Karmas appear in a horoscope where confluence exists. Confluence occurs wherever many astrological factors converge in their indications. The greater the number of indications for good OR for bad in a particular area of a horoscope, the more obvious its results will become. 2. Dridha- Adridha Karma Dridha-Adridha Karmas occur wherever some (but not most) horoscopic factors relating to a particular area converge in their indications. These karmas, good OR bad, can be changed through the concentrated application of creative will, though considerable effort is required. They give fixed or non-fixed results according to the quantum of effort employed. If the congenital deformity in the child mentioned above is corrected or substantially alleviated through surgery, prolonged diet, intensive exercise, or some other corrective, then its Prarabdha Karma was of the Dridha-Adridha variety. 3. Adridha Karma Adridha Karmas are said to give non-fixed results because they are easily altered. Wherever no confluence exists in a horoscope, Adridha Karmas are present. This state is skin to having a clean slate on which you may write what you please. When a child of normal physical exercises and her body responds with increased strength so that the gain is directly proportionate to the effort made, and no unforeseen hindrances or other unanticipated variances occur, it is a case of Adridha Prarabdha Karma in the area of her physique .

In the recently released manuscript: The Living Word of Kuan Yin, http://www.amazon.com/Living-Word-Kuan-Yin/dp/1419646400 the Goddess Kuan Yin reveals how each of us carry within us the twin potentials for rebirth: compassion and free will. In this, her spiritual opus, the Goddess also speaks of the "waves" and the "wind": how no matter where we have landed in our lives, we each experience seen and unseen forces, karma and free will. Addressing karma and free will Goddess Kuan Yin states: "There are the waves and there is the wind, seen and unseen forces. Everyone has these same elements in their lives. The question is, 'how are you going to handle what you have?'" Continuing, Kuan Yin maintains that we have more power over our destiny than we might realize. Stating, : “You must acknowledge and experience this part of the universe. Karma is intricate—too vast. You would with your limited human senses, consider it too unfair. But you have tools to really, truly love. Loving the children is very important. But love everyone as you would love your children.” Teaching that no one is better than the next, the Goddess stresses the importance of accepting differences and the development of community. Explaining it is necessary to return to this earth odyssey, to reincarnate and experience even the darkness (ignorance) to finally enter Nirvana (which is really Oneness), Kuan Yin insists that it is the earth experience which represents the most important step in our entire evolution: "Human mistakes and inaccuracies are no less important than divinity...the incredible process of being human allows for the higher self to acknowledge and extract divinity from ones trials and tribulations." Further, Kuan Yin advises that what is needed on earth is "compassion for the untruth". Touching "untruth's" shoulder with the utmost tenderness and compassion, she demonstrates her infinite capacity for love and forgiveness. Stemming the tide of war and destruction can only occur, she maintains, through "sprinkling elements of truth and healing". This process requires one be centered upon and understand the issues of his or her life from a place of detachment. To examine one's life from this perspective allows the Higher Self to participate in daily choices and problem solving. While ego is responsible for maintaining the self in day-to-day reality, much of the pressure of decision-making can be mitigated when allowing one's relationship with the higher self to unfold. Indeed, thoughts can change the course of history. Sometimes, all it takes is enough people knowing about a certain concept. Rapid changes are coming,” portends Kuan Yin. “It’s an urgent time for energies to evolve. I don’t think of it as a happy time, however it is an opportunity for some to propel themselves into a kind of purification. The process is being sped up, an acceleration creating awe-inspiring changes affecting every aspect of life. There are a group of souls who are using this time to help propel them forward. This process can be compared to a ship catching the wind in a certain way. Those catching this wind will need to be skillful, knowledgeable and willing to let go, like a navigator or a sailor. And like a sailor’s knowledge and deep respect for the sea, these people will need to know when to "turn the ship" and when to let go. Skillful in utilizing the "winds of these times", they will have me as their sail." Kuan Yin (5-04) “Let the magic happen. It’s always there. Abundance and love are always there. Believe in the highest good. There is a higher essence to everything. The realm you’re in has a heaviness that mutes energy. You can penetrate through it, no matter how dark and heavy. Sometimes it has nothing to do with karma. Just don’t forget to keep it open. Don’t get too bogged down, don’t limit the brightness.” “Reach through the dark energy and grab it. You might see the smoke coming out of the chimney and you’ll even see the smoky sky. You need to reach through the smoke and bring the light to you. Remember the possibilities of something greater then are right here. Be willing to go to the lightness. Don’t feed off what is not right in the world.” Kuan Yin About The Author: Hope Bradford CHT has practiced transpersonal hypnotherapy for over twenty years.

The psychic healing allows us to have a healthy mind and body. And from the spiritual point of view, psychic healing allows people to recognize their pure and luminous nature. The being's pure nature is never contaminated, it is only darkened by the ignorance, and it is for this reason that the psychic healing is possible, and it shouldn't only be an interest of the sick persons, but an objective of the whole humanity. At the same time psychic healing is also the capacity that has any individual of transmitting healing spiritual energy to another individual. The healing looks for to reestablish the health there where the illness has originated, and that place is not necessarily the physical place where the ailment has shown. A psychic healing can alleviate the pain, restore the lost functions and even improve the quality of the chronic patients' life. For that reason, it is highly advisable when a patient arrives to a plateau in his improvement, or he recovers in a smaller measure than what was expected. The psychic healing is a way to let the past behind and walk toward God, I should say that it is not an alternative medicine itself, but rather a therapy that should be used as a complement of the treatment prescribed by the doctors in each case. THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE KARMA Before anything else it is necessary to clarify what's the karma. Karma is a Sanskrit word that means action. Not only physical action, but also thought in action and word in action. On the other hand the karma is also the law of cause and effect, that is to say that the words, thoughts and actions of our past lives, generate impressions in the causal body, which then are manifested as the karma by which we have to go through in this life (we must also add to it the karmic consequences of what we do in this life) Talking about the psychic healing, we can say that the illnesses that we suffer in this life, are the karmic consequences of what we did in the past. That is to say that when the karma matures, the illness manifests itself. We all have a nature that is pure, luminous, and that it is not contaminated by any mental factor, but when the poisons of the attachment and the ignorance, become part of our mind as a karmic consequence, the physical manifestation of the illness takes place. IS THE KARMA THE ONLY CAUSE OF ILLNESSES? NO, there are four different causes for the illnesses: The environment: where all kinds of illnesses transmitting microorganisms exist (that attack us faster when there's lack of hygiene and stress). Bad feeding: not well balanced diets, insufficient and inadequate feeding (excess of fat, consumption of red meats, alcohol, excess of fried food, etc.) Subtle energy: Subtle negative energy that can come from other human beings and from the astral plane. The karma: although I have highlighted it as the fourth item, the karma is in fact not only a source of illnesses, but a source that contains and causes the three previous causes. The emotions, the attitudes and the beliefs, can also have a negative effect in the person's health, but the health is ultimately determined by the karma. CAN EVERY BODY BE HEALED? If you want a short and direct answer:YES, psychic healing can heal everybody. But this question deserves a special explanation. If psychic healing can be applied to everybody, does that mean that all terminal sick persons can heal? YES, the psychic healing can heal even the terminal sick persons. although they might end up dying, since the physical cure of the illness is not always possible. The first thing that we should understand is that everybody will die in some moment, either for a terminal illness, or for a slide in the bathing tub. Then the objective of the healing is not to avoid a person death. This is outside of the reach of any human being. The psychic healing embraces a much wider concept than the idea of avoiding the death, the psychic healing goes beyond the idea of life and the death, because in fact it is looked for to heal the mind, to heal what has caused the appearance of the karmic illnesses. A person can recover from a sickness and not be healed from it, this way the karmic roots of that illness might make it appear again in this same life or in the following one, or they will make the person go through similar pain situations until he learns what the karma intended to teach him. Psychic healing doesn't require the patient to believe in what the healer believes, neither that he understands what his healer does, reason why it is not a faith cure. WHICH IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE HEALING AND THE MEDIC SCIENCE? The psychic healing and the medic science work on two different aspects of the human being. The psychic healing looks for to eliminate the karmic causes of the illness, while the medic science look for to eliminate the physical manifestations of the illness. Then if the doctor prescribes us a medication, it is necessary to take it and to continue in full with the treatment as he prescribed it until the end of the physical manifestation of this illness (if it is possible to achieve it) . Once we have been able to eliminate the physical manifestations of the illness, we might consider ourselves cured, but this is not necessarily true. If the illness has had a karmic origin, and the person has not received a psychic healing, that same illness or another situation that makes the person go through the same kind of experiences, will show up again. It is necessary to take appropriately care of the body because it is the temple of our soul, but it is also necessary to be in charge of the person's mind and to look for its psychic healing, until the person becomes an illuminated one. Then and only then it will be able to enjoy the full healing. PSYCHIC HEALING AND ILLUMINATION The illumination is a state in which the person is able to take contact and conscience of his true spiritual nature, and it is also said that an illuminated person is a person that has wakened up of the dream of his existence or from Maya's illusion. An illuminated person is a person that is able to eradicate suffering from his life, although the pain can continue being part of is existence, because the illuminated has interpreted the reality as it really is. WHAT IS REQUIRED TO HEAL? The answer to what is required to heal could not be simpler: what is required to heal is to have a sincere desire to do good, a disinterested desire to do god to someone else. Once you have the desire to do good, you need to offer yourself to God, so that it uses us as a healing channel. This is the reason why the healer can not be affected by the sick person's negative energy, neither he should fear in any way the damage of his own energy, since it is not his own energy the one that he should transmit, he is only acting as a channel for the Divine energy. Does the healer need to be a saint or a person of superior nature? I believe that the best answer that can be given is an image: If for a dirty channel runs water, water doesn't care how dirty it is the channel, water will always be water. And while in the physical plane the water can be contaminated, in the spiritual plane the Divine energy is always pure and uncontaminated, and it doesn't care about the purity of the channel that it uses. WHO CAN PRACTICE PSYCHIC HEALING? Any person that gets consciously and energetically ready can practice healing, because the power to communicate with God and to offer oneself like a tool for the healing of others, it is a helping ability inherent to all human being It is important to remember that we don't heal with our energy, we are only the channels through which the Divine energy flows, reason why the Divine intervention, doesn't conclude when we finish our healing exercise, but rather the healing continues acting on the other person for as much time as God considers it necessary. In fact all healing exercises should go accompanied by a teaching by which we acknowledge the sick person that we will help him to establish an energetic connection with The Supreme Being, but that he can also request it without our help. HEALING METHODS The older healing practice that is known is the Ayurvedic Medicine that it has being practiced in India for about 3500 years. But there are many other healing arts among which we can highlight the Reiki, the Thai Chi, the Yoga, the Mind Control, the Transcendental Meditation, etc. I have written for you two exercises that can help you in this topic (they are both in Spanish only): How to heal yourself (CD # 34) How to heal others (CD # 39) DURING HOW MUCH TIME MUST THE HEALING BE PRACTICED? In some cases a single practice of the healing will be enough, but it is generally a process of progressive improvement, for that reason you shouldn't get discouraged if immediate results are not obtained. The energy transferred by means of the healer transforms the patient, he will feel more calm down and confident and he will surely have a change in its attitude and in the quality of its life. THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CHAKRAS The chakras are thousands of energy centers that are distributed throughout the whole body, although there are 7 bigger chakras that are aligned along the spine, from the root, to the crown. Most of the healing methods among which we can highlight the Acupuncture, the Do In, the Shiatsu, and the Reflexology work over the energy points of the smaller chakras, but as the Aura is an energy that depends on the energy flow of the chakras, you can work on any part of the body to produce a healing. The chakras of a healthy person are open and they work in a harmonic form, affecting this way all the functions of the body. While in a sick person they are blocked or they work in insufficient way. The base of the healing is the restoration of the good flow of the energy through the chakras. HEALING IN GROUP When a group of people unites themselves to request for the healing of a person, the healing effect is increased because the multiple channels through which the love of all the participants and the Divine energy work, are united. And when the healing is practiced using the visualization, then the physical limitations of the distance disappears, that is to say that a healer may heal people that are not physically next to the healer. The distance healing is something that today is more easily accepted by the western science, since the experiments of the French Quantic Physical Alain Aspect, have demonstrated that: even when a couple of subatomic particles are separated in the space, what happens to one of the particles can have effect on the other ones. There have also been carried out experiments where the DNA of donors located 80 Km away from the donors, have reacted in the same way than the donors, under emotional stimulation. HOW ARE THE HEALINGS PRACTICED? The basic procedure for he healing it is to place the hands of the healer over the affected person's sick area, and to imagine that God uses us like a channel, so that through our hands the positive energy is transfused to the patient. When the hands imposition technique, is practiced with the positive visualization, then the healing becomes a tool that can be used to help distant patients. The use of certain symbols and rituals, as the use of candles, incense and glasses of water are more to propitiate the creation of a mental state for the healer and the patient. The healing is in fact only a special way of praying, and in the prayer one puts the hands over the patient, and at the same time request the help of God who will ultimately decide how and when the fruits will be picked up.

Earth's population is projected to increase by 50% in the next 50 years, and more people means more marketing competition. With the coming of the internet, you have to explore more options for marketing tactics because your potential customer base expands a thousand fold, and if you're really savvy, you can market to the entire world. Have you ever forgotten to put that screw in your fresh from the box garbage disposal? Internet marketing, like home improvement, is an intricate field ruled by simplistic guidelines that can often get passed over. Classical marketing strategists frequently overlook the fundamental precepts regarding karma and its effect on the marketing battleground known as the internet. Karma specifically means "action," so when people begin talking about karmic marketing, you could think of it as "Marketing in Action" or "Dynamic Marketing." Doing unto others as you would have done to you is a karmic concept dating back to the beginning of mankind, like gravity. You may beg to differ on how karmic concepts work in marketing, but if you try karmic marketing, it will boost your sales. What is the most lucrative way to build business through karmic marketing? A rotation of gifts and bonuses is a karmic marketing strategy which will communicate to your email lists that you value their patronage, and perhaps more importantly, that you want them to shop with you again. After all, who doesnft appreciate free stuff? Consumers' responses will be, "Fabulous. I get that for free? I'll shop here again." Offering complimentary items is an example of an excellent execution of karmic marketing. You see, when clients receive something on a regular basis, something that they expect to see in their inbox every month, certain people will just ignore it. They stop listening to it. They stop watching it. However, when you send merchandise and once in a while provide a limited time offer, people cannot predict what you will do next. If you want to turn a profit in the internet marketing arena, it is necessary to have shoppers that are vested in what you have for sale. Here are some ideas to get you going. Video tutorials are really effective. Videos can be created with something as simple as a webcam, and you can make them about anything. For example, create an instructional series on how to best use your wares. Be creative on how to use tutorials for you karmic marketing strategy. Once you've accomplished this, send an email to your list, or as a personal recommendation, build it into your automatic responder. Teleconferences and consultation services are excellent ways to boost customer interest. Affiliate deals, or belonging to an affiliate program, can be resources for complimentary gifts that you can offer your own list. Do it now.

Introduction I was a really stupid kid. In addition to getting mediocre grades in Spanish class, not listening to superiors, and turning down Lucy Haines for a date (she is now a model), I would venture out to a local farm and partake in late-night cow tipping with my friends. Sure, "boys will be boys," but it did generate bad karma for me. Let me explain. When I got a bit older I realized the error of my ways and got a lot smarter. I studied hard in college, got a decent job, and invested in a Smart Car. It is safe and energy efficient. I worked hard to shed my stupidity. The karma police did not forget my old stupidity. One morning I strolled out of my apartment to find my Smart Car tipped over on its side. Some would begin having mixed feelings of anger, bewilderment, awe, self-pity; but, I did not engage in any of these emotions. I knew exactly why this had happened. The cows had their revenge. The irony is I had installed a sensor for tip-over protection. Too bad they don't make sensors that alert you of committing acts that will generate bad karma. Why did I relate my history and Smart Car anecdote? I needed to segue into my article and to illustrate its purpose. Some positive karma is obviously needed in my life; so, with no further ado, I will relate some tips to better economize your fuel purchasing. Take another mode of transportation The day my car was tipped I walked to work. I figured it would give me time to reevaluate my situation. Walking is not that bad. I figure you could walk, bike, carpool, or take public transportation instead of driving. You can get some exercise, save money, and save wear and tear on your car. Visit the Public Trans. Associations Web site to see how convenient it is for you. Get a new car More and more fuel efficient cars are produced each year. Monster trucks are no longer en vogue (now there's Ultimate Fighting), so look for a hybrid or other fuel-efficient car. What ever happened to the electric car? Anyway, check out this site for more information and ideas. How prime is premium? Use the grade of gasoline that your car needs. I know you're proud that you can afford the extra forty cents a gallon to buy premium (which equals $8 for every 20 gallons), but if your car does not specifically need it, there is no benefit. Slow down Speedy Gonzales Wind resistance increases with increased speed. Let me do some math for you (don't worry, I majored in English). Every ten miles per hour of speeding costs you 15% in fuel economy. So, for every 1,000 miles driving (gas being about $2.50 a gallon and getting 25 mpg) you would save $15 by going 10mph slower. I know it is a lot of math (eww), but think of this over the course of a year. Chill on the hills Don't you feel like going faster up hills? Well, this is a stellar way to burn a lot of gas. Maintain the same speed. You will save yourself a plethora (told you I majored in English) of gasoline. The conversion changes from getting 25mpg to like 4mpg when accelerating up a hill! See into the future I have a friend who loves to race people to the next red light and stop sign. He is the big winner of wasting gas. Every time you employ your brakes you are eventually using more gas. Look ahead and stop acceleration and coast to the stop sign or red light. Do you live in the city? If you are at a red light, is it likely there will be another one in 10 seconds? Why are you racing to that light? The guy next to you may feel cooler because he beat you to the next light, but you will feel cooler when you have more money in your pocket (to buy those $300 designer sunglasses of course - no, don't do that). No loitering allowed Did your wife or girlfriend just go "run in" the store? Are you leaving the car on because you think they will be "right back?" Do you know you are wasting gas? Turn your car off if you are going to let it sit idle for more than a couple of minutes. The theory that it costs more gas to start a car again than to sit idle ranks right up there with explosions in your stomach from pop rocks and cola (don't do it!). If these allegations were true than cows can cast spells... And ladies, I am not being biased, it is not that men don't enjoy shopping as well, it is just that women are too smart to sit and wait for us with the car on. Heavy load Every 100 pounds can reduce your fuel economy by 2 percent. Are you living out of your car? Rent a storage space instead. Also, get that drum set and sound equipment out of the trunk; your band broke up well before Metallica cut their hair. Clear out anything from your car that does not need to be there. The AC does turn off I have a friend that uses the AC for company. We are getting him help, but I digress... Unless it is extremely humid, turn off your AC. Running the AC forces your engine to work harder. Save your engine to burn gas efficiently. You know those cold packs? Try sitting on one while you drive if you are hot. My friend gave me that tip...I know, we are getting him help. Ask for directions I am not doing a comedy routine here about how men never want to stop and give directions, but do you know why that bit is so cliché, because it is true. Instead of driving your car and anxiety levels extra miles, why not just stop and ask for directions when you are lost. Navigational systems have helped with this conundrum, but there are still those (you know who you are) who refuse to rely on asking for directions. These are the same people who call those 800-numbers for their astrology fortunes. Don't go tired in checking your tires Deflated tires will cause more friction on the road and in turn, cause your engine to work harder to acquire speed. Check your tire pressure every week to every other week. You can get the gas attendant to check; they appreciate checking oil, washing windows, and gauging tire pressure for no additional money (hint, hint). You can find the pressure for your car on the driver-side door threshold or in the manual. Take your car for check-ups Proper car maintenance is vital to fuel efficiency. Bringing in your car for regular checks will keep your fuel efficiency potential optimized. This is something that is underestimated by most because they fear that they will have to spend money by taking the car in for a check-up. The longer you wait, the more likely something may go wrong and wind up costing you more money in the end.

The ancient book of Gita, which is the treatise on the living has led a great stress on the karma. Karma is defined as the action and its fruits. Good thoughts, words and deeds lead to good and happy life while bad thoughts, words and deeds lead a person to disaster. This has been postulated in the 18th century by Isaac Newton, who gave his law as “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” The branch of yoga that deals with karma is called as the karma yoga. The branch of yoga that deals with karma is called as the karma yoga. Usually you are bound by the cravings and desires associated with your act but you can free yourself by doing the act but dissociating yourself from its consequences. This is the basic concept behind karma yoga and the person who follows this path is known as karma yogi. His behaviour is of indifference and while the world may think he is not interested, in reality he has mastered his desires and has developed awareness of the real significance of the events that occur around him. This yoga involves doing your duty without any reservations but is free of the cravings of the results that are obtained from the act. This attitude is difficult to acquire because we are taught to hanker after the fruits of our labour and any failure to obtain the desired results leads you to frustration and negative thinking. Also, constant attachment to the results leads you to stress, competition and aggressiveness. This has led to increased incidences of stress, diabetes, depression, heart ailments and suicides and has led many youngsters to use drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. Hence following the teaching of Krishna in Gita, wherein he advises Arjun: “You are entitled to an action but not its fruits” will lead you to a happy and stress free life. A karma yogi realizes this and hence he follows the path of detachment. But this does not make him dull or inefficient. On the contrary, he channelizes his entire energy into the tasks at hand with complete vigour as his energy is not dissipated and gives it a best shot. Hence the results of his actions are the best and he gets good fruits. He does not run after pleasure but pleasure follows him. This makes him a pleasant person to be around and thus enjoys success in his life.

When you embarked on the business you’ve thought to have for most of your life, would you even think of offering your products or services for free? You’d probably say that that was the stupidest thing you’ve heard. In fact, you probably wouldn’t even deign to think about it. The reason you’re in business is to gain profits. Period. No matter how altruistic you are, or how unselfish you believe yourself to be; starting a business is not about that you would benefit the human race. That’s not it at all. Let’s face it. You started your business because you wanted to accomplish one thing – lots and lots of profits. That’s the end-all and be-all of your enterprise. Secondary to that is to provide solutions to your customers’ needs and desires in life. This is even evident in your postcard marketing or how you produce your postcard printing pieces. The main reason you’re putting most of your budget to your postcard printing campaign is that you would want to get your customers and prospects so interested in what you have to offer that you would eventually make a sale. Who in their right minds would spend so much so that he or she can give something for free? Hello! Many business owners might think you’re nuts or something. However, one marketer has made karma an effective marketing strategy for his own venture. He decided that providing his customers with free products eventually made him a big name in his own niche. Not only is he now a regional hit, his magazine has so much appeal nowadays that many people have not even thought to complain when his publication went on newsstands with a price rate just like any other magazine or newspaper. This business owner then began to not only offer free publication in his area, he also began sponsoring many local events which made him and his publication a household name. It created so much excitement that the publication’s popularity increased by word-of-mouth. What did work for this publication icon? He gave away his product, and now he is earning the impact he had when he first started. He didn’t mind that he had to lose first before he can win. The important thing to him is to get his publication known by many people. Karma is all about what you have to give to society. When you’re good, you’ll have good karma. When you’re bad, well, then karma is your just reward. This is also true with marketing your business. Just like what the successful publication guy proved with his venture, karma is all about providing that first good impression. This is something that your clients would remember and appreciate for a very long time. When you give away something for free, you’ll surely reap the rewards of your good work after. The concept of karma is often misunderstood. It's not about punishment. That would imply there's a judging God and we don't believe that, nor do other experts in the field, such as Brad Steiger, Richard Sutphen, Dr. Ian Stevenson, Dr. Raymond Moody, Dr. Leo R. Sprinkle, and numerous others. Whenever you feel that something in your life is unfair, keep asking why until you perceive the situation more clearly and understand the root reasons. Not the surface reasons, but the deeper and past life reasons; what started it all. Keep asking, and meditate on why. For example, a family member refuses to respect your basic human rights, to the point of blatant abuse on a consistent basis. You forgive her, you express tolerance, but she still continues, frequently disturbing your peace of mind and tossing in additional challenge in your already demanding daily routine. Why? You think to yourself that you’ve never treated anyone this way in your life (this one, at least), and that you can’t imagine acting that way to her or anyone else. However, know that one’s personality in this life is not the same as personalities in prior lives. A “saint” in this life could very well have been the opposite in prior lives, before learning the value of honesty and respecting others, for example. Initially you get zero insight about the matter, but then impressions slowly start to form through meditation. You intuit that it could be one, or both, of two different notions: you dished out a similar challenge to her in previous lives and, or you agreed to this circumstance before incarnating to help you develop your level of compassion and acceptance. Does this awareness make it go away? No, but it allows you to further understand the matter and therefore garner more forgiveness, for yourself and others. It's not about what happened to you, it's about why. When you understand why you (yes you, on a soul, not personality level) chose to experience the situations, conditions and the lessons involved, it becomes much easier to handle. With awareness comes compassion, and compassion leads to forgiveness. Taking full responsibility for all circumstances in your life and forgiving yourself and others will set you free. The law of attraction has been around for centuries, however, only recently has it come into the eye oif the world through the book and DVD 'The Secret'. Once known only ny successful business men and women of our time, and times before us, the law of attraction has become a wide-spread phenomenon, allowing just about anyone to benefit from the vast powers of the universe. The secret law of attraction works by you believing in something so strongly that it manifests itself into reality. If this sounds like something from the X-Files, just hear me out. The teachings of the law tell us that no matter what, the universe is with us and for us, waiting to be used to our advantage. To truly harness the power using the law, we cannot focus on what we don't have or what we need, instead, we need to believe that we will have more in the future. We will have more happiness, more money, more love, and more children. What ever your true desire is in life, you must focus on believing it will come true. If you focus hard enough, and truly believe according to the law, you will see a change, and you will experience the true joy of the law of attraction working in your life. Karma fits into this equation because we reap what we sow. What we send out to the world, thoughts of happiness, or thoughts of hatred can come back to us. Karma is basically a manifestation of our anger, greed, unhappiness, or misery. If we create these things, they come back to us. The law of attraction owes a lot to the Hindu concept of karma and dharma. Karma implies a cause and effect. Each of us is different and hence, contributes differently to our lives. But we ourselves reap the results of our conducts. Good conduct breeds good results. Dharma is relevant to the law of attraction as dharma means purpose in life. Each of us has a purpose in life. The law of attraction speaks to identifying the aim of ones life through self discovery. Hinduism supposes this end to be universal welfare, an extension of the law of attraction. Ancient Hindu doctrines preached the idea that a persons place in the world is dependent upon his thought and practices. Ancient Hindu philosophies suppose that a persons course of life is determined by his conducts in the previous birth. This implies that if someone had contributed significantly to universal goodness in his past life, they are likely to follow the same path in his next life. Positive thinking, which is an oft quoted phrase in the law of attraction, also finds its place in Hinduism. One, who is optimist in his attitude towards life, strives for a positive end, whereby he will find happiness. This happiness, according to Hinduism, does not mean wealth or power, but a sense of satisfaction and a feeling of completeness. Both Hinduism and the law of attraction posit the concept of spiritual unity. Spiritual unity points to mental integrity. The mind should be absolutely clear of its mission and this should correspond in the actions. The mind, according to both Hinduism and the law of attraction, should be able to withstand all external disturbances and remain focused on what it wants to achieve. The means or the ways to attain the end may change in the course of action, but not the end. Hinduism defines the end as something abstract. It is the success of ones will, fortitude, and perseverance. It does not refer to monetary success, or a gain of power. The success is a state of mind, a sense of fulfillment, a sense of satisfaction. This is what is referred to as abundance, by the law of attraction.

Karma is a series of cause and effect. It is a cycle of certain actions and their subsequent results. Your own experiences can yield to certain joy and pain not only to yourself but also to others associated with you. Oftentimes, we link God with Karma. This may due to a fact that we can see Him as the One who can give out punishments when we do wrong and give rewards when we do well. Karma goes hand in hand with the golden rule "Do not do unto others, what you do not want others to do unto you". Karma not only concerns punishments, vengeance or rewards; it is the effect of the deeds you created in the past, present and future. Usually, we see Karma to be the good and the bad. Good karma is satisfying or what you desire. An example of good karma is eating the best food, traveling to the best part of the world or having a multitude of friends because of being helpful. Bad karma is the unnecessary events and unpleasant such as suffering from poverty and diseases among members of the family due perhaps to having an unmerciful life and one involving crimes. How then will you take advantage of the Karmic laws? Being cyclical, it never ends, which is why we should take hold of the good benefits it can give. Here are some tips of handling Karma: 1. If you are recently having a favorable status, you have enough money and an opportunity to expand, take advantage by investing your fortune in good and fair businesses. Any business which is a product of sweat and blood and not due to some illegal transactions will bring forth more wealth. 2. Being in a not so good situation like poverty should not be treated as a disadvantage. This should be a motivator for you to be ambitious and move to reach your goals. "This too may pass", as God implies and your own perseverance can progress your future and your Karma. 3. Karma is a repetitive process; you should be aware about it. When having opportunities to grow like a good job offer, grab it. 4. Karma can be a means of preventing you to be in trouble. If someone is trying to persuade you to snatch or brawl, you might as well think first of the causes it will bring. Be on the right side always and open your mind for all the consequences an act can bring. 5. Inhibit yourself from complaining and putting the blame on other people. Negative thoughts produce negative vibrations that will eventually affect your views in life. Karma can be advantageous by providing you an understanding and a positive outlook in life. 6. Pray and count your blessings. God is the provider of all graces. He knows all that troubles us and that makes us happy. Counting your blessings and thanking God always is a good way to have a smooth life and a good Karma. When analyzed, Karma is advantageous to any person practicing it. It is a way of looking upon your weakness and seeking for ways to strengthen your character, to feed your soul and to have a positive outlook in life. Life's shortcomings are not altogether bad. Hardships are necessary for you to be patient and to gain strength; poverty is present to allow us to be generous and opportunities are meager to allow us to grow. However, treating every body fairly and doing good deeds will always bring back blessings to you.

From the Buddhist Diamond Sutra, which investigates emptiness: “However many species of living beings there are — whether born from eggs, from the womb, from moisture or spontaneously, whether they have form or no form, whether they have perceptions or they do not have perceptions . . . all compounded things are like a dream, a phantom, a drop of dew, a flash of lightening. That is how to meditate on them, that is how to observe them.” And from the Buddhist Heart Sutra: "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form. Emptiness is no other than form, form is no other than emptiness. In the same way, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are emptiness . . . There is no birth and no cessation, no increase or decrease. In emptiness there is no form, no feeling, no perception, no consciousness, no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind, no appearance, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch . . . no ignorance, no end of ignorance up to no old age and death, no end of old age and death, no suffering, no origin of suffering, no cessation of suffering, no path, no wisdom, no attainment, no non-attainment." Our thoughts create themselves from what could be considered nothing, a field of karma, and then they disappear, no different from atomic particles arising from a field of energy, which could also be considered nothing, lingering a while, and then melting back into immaterial existence. Creativity abounds in the universe. Science searches for truth; spirituality should do no less, and when both science and spirituality agree on something, this is worth noting, and meditation and science seem to merge when it comes to our thoughts and sub-atomic particles. In quantum mechanics, particles are accelerated at extremely high speeds before being crashed together in confined spaces in infinitesimal amounts of time. This event causes particles to behave in peculiar ways, akin to thoughts appearing and disappearing at will in our minds. Where these thoughts and particles come from and go to is yet to be understood, but one thing science does understand; that although these particles are considered matter, they are not solid, and actually are considered as only probabilities — hardly existing at all. Scientists define these particles as bits of information, again like thoughts. They exist in waves of probabilities, similar to the vast storehouse of information in not only our physical memory banks, but deeper in our spiritual memories as well. Only when these particles are closely observed, they pop their little heads up for a moment appearing in one of a myriad of possible positions, similar to random memories popping up in our minds – or karma popping up in our lives. Therefore, their reality relies on the surveillance of the observers in a seemingly symbiotic relationship. Our memories, however, become stuck in a groove with the same old thoughts appearing in the same positions. This limits the scope of our brain and results in mechanical progression. Whenever a thought arises in our minds, the same processes go into action. Lust or strong desire can form when something desirable either contacts our senses or arises in our minds, and our underlying karma will affect how we react to these things. One person will be attracted to wealth, and another to meditation. This feeling strengthens when a gland in our brain preps our body for action by churning out chemicals, then, another gland releases these tailored chemicals into the bloodstream where they seek out specialized cells with little docking ports on their exteriors. As soon as these cells receive this transfer of chemical information, then sexual organs, for example, get the signal to go to work. This flurry of activity began with a single thought, but where did that thought come from? Here we have the analogy of an atomic particle that arose from a wave of probabilities . . . and a single thought, which arose from billions of bits of information. We can see that everything begins inside; this is where the action is — and this is where meditation is focused. A thought begins in small cells in the brain, but before that happens, each cell is affected by its karma. Each of these neurons has branches that connect to other cells during the thinking process, and each time the same thought comes up, these little branches become fatter, with the connection becoming stronger. Over time, if a lustful thought is repeated enough, it might become an obsession with associated thoughts appearing in the mind every few minutes. This creates strong connections, and strong connections create dependency. Then if we don’t activate these connection by repeating that particular thought, mental pain in the form of withdrawal occurs. Soon, of course, the brain is crowded with dependencies like sex, security, and self-esteem, and since each connection becomes stronger with stimulation, it becomes increasingly difficult to break our habit patterns. This describes our life — a series of thought cycles repeated in certain patterns to create identities. Our brain handles billions of snippets of information a second, but we are only aware of a small fraction of them, and the ones that we are familiar with and believe in pop up most often. As a result, our life becomes a “groove in a record” that we can’t stop playing. This is fine while we are satisfied with our lives — and our grooves — but over time, our cravings, supported by our habit patterns, become desensitized and require increasingly stronger stimulation. This could lead to dire results if we then frantically seek out additional stimulation to reinforce old habit patterns. This only deepens our grooves and causes constant stress. . . . Hello karma! E. Raymond Rock of Fort Myers, Florida is cofounder and principal teacher at the Southwest Florida Insight Center, http://www.SouthwestFloridaInsightCenter.com His twenty-eight years of meditation experience has taken him across four continents, including two stopovers in Thailand where he practiced in the remote northeast forests as an ordained Theravada Buddhist monk. Some of us believe that we have full control over our lives. However, this may not be entirely true. Destiny or fate plays a very important role in our lives irrespective of our gender, race, religion, nationality etc. To explain the concept of destiny, we need to understand what destiny is. The popular western view is that we are in control of our lives and everything that happens to us is because of our own choice. On the other hand, the popular eastern view is that not every thing that happens to us is under our control and that we are nothing but puppets in a preordained plan. However, neither of these views are completely correct. According to the science of Spirituality, in the current times 65% of our lives are ruled by Destiny and 35% by wilful action. However, we can overcome the 65% of the Destiny part, by using the 35% of our wilful action to undertake the correct spiritual practice. Destiny is when one has no control over life situations. Wilful action is that portion of one’s life, which is still under one’s control. An example of wilful action: Let us take an example of a person who is drunk and has a poorly maintained car. In this state he decides to drive his car down a steep mountainside, crossing speed limits. He loses control of his car and skids off the road down the mountainside. Would that be an accident caused by destiny or wilful action? It would be due to his wilful action and not due to Destiny as he could have chosen not to drink and drive. He also had the option of keeping his car well maintained and could have driven it within the speed limits. An example of an event influenced by destiny: Let us take another example wherein the person does not drink, drives his well-maintained car carefully, down the same mountainside within speed limits. All of a sudden, a portion of the road collapses due to a landslide and he meets with an accident. In this case, the person had no control over the landslide that occurred and hence this is a destined event. Destiny heavily influences many aspects of our lives, such as the decisions that we make, with whom we spend our lives etc. All major events in our life such as birth, marriage, major illnesses, accidents and death are pre-destined. Now, let us see why and how Destiny is created by us. Destiny and the rule of Give-and-Take According to the ‘Law of Karma’, every positive deed generates a ‘merit’ while every negative deed generates a ‘demerit’ or a sin. Subsequently one has to reap the results of one’s deeds as a part of destiny. Whenever one does a good deed to others, it is bound to give a positive return (in the form of some happiness). Whenever one inflicts harm, it is bound to give a negative return in the form of sorrow in some form. It cannot be undone by a simple ‘Sorry’! The ‘law of Karma’ is infallible. Throughout our lives, we are either settling an old account i.e. fulfilling our destiny, or creating a new one. If for some reason, the account cannot be settled in this birth, it gets carried over to the next birth. We are not consciously aware of the give-and-take accounts or the destiny that is generated in our previous births. All major events in our lives such as the time and place of birth, our spouse, death, etc. occur as planned in our Destiny. One is born into a particular family, where conditions are conducive to undergo one’s destiny and where one has a significant give-and-take account with each member of the family. In addition, one also has a different give-and-take account with different individuals with whom one comes across such as relatives, close friends, neighbours, colleagues, etc. If we continue to use our wilful actions without undertaking spiritual practice then we will keep accumulating a give and take account thus increasing our destiny, and our spiritual growth will stagnate. This will keep us trapped in the vicious cycle of birth and death and away from the basic objective of achieving Liberation. As Destiny is a spiritual root cause of difficulties in our life, we can nullify or reduce the effects of destiny only by undertaking the spiritual practice most conducive to the times. This is because destiny is completely a spiritual aspect, and can be overcome only with a spiritual remedy, which is undertaking spiritual practice as per the basic principles of Spirituality. For details about destiny, the law of Karma, the percentages of give-and-take account with various individuals, how correct spiritual practice helps reduce the impact of destiny, how to stop generating new accounts etc. please visit the website of the Spiritual Science Research Foundation. 1. Introduction: The masterpiece scenario If you wanted to design a system that would be a masterpiece, a means of providing individuals with opportunity to fulfill their potential, to keep growing and learning, and meeting themselves with all their foibles and virtues, qualities and talents, vices and shortfalls to improve, and to ensure that all participants could access awareness of their effects on others (be it right away or, as seems to be more the case in our current materialistic days, in the between-lives arena) - then you would come up with the system that appears to be in play on Earth now - the masterpiece of karma and reincarnation in which we live. 2. Experiment: Take a moment to imagine the cessation of your "I". You can imagine the physical body coming to an end, the dissolution of the body. But can you do so with the "I"? The moment you try, there is your "I" standing back looking for an imagined end to itself. It can't be done* - inferring that the Ego lives on after death. *footnote: The "I" can be dissipated, in a sense, by oneself, or at least degraded and debilitated, through chronic substance abuse, or through long term practices of an spiritual path that espouses the dissolution of the ego (once an appropriate experience for the soul during the ancient Indian epoch, but now counter to the present leading edge of evolution - the retention and enhancement of the "Ego" or I). "When someone has a strong intuitive connection, Buddhism suggests that it's because of karma, some past connection". Richard Gere Richard Gere is so right on! He understands that when you develop your sensory acuity through practical spiritual applications, you become aware of energy that exists throughout time and space. You then have the ability to discover blocks that may be holding you back from creating the life you want. Please take a moment to check out how the questions below relate to your life: * Do you control your life? * Do you hold any past resentments? * Do you believe in fate or destiny? * Do you think it's too late to make a difference? * Can you appreciate your past, good and bad? * What is the biggest lesson you've learned? * Are you willing to do things differently? By taking the following 3 steps, you will begin to clear blockages from your past (that may include past lives if relevant for your spiritual growth). Step 1: Understanding Energy In our day to day life, we experience energy as people, clothes, cars, houses, jobs, pets, food, etc. We also experience energy as good and bad, beautiful and ugly, heavy and light, loud and quiet, etc. Energy in it's raw essence is abstract. You may wonder how I manage to communicate with people who have passed over? Or how I can see your probable future? The way I am able to see and obtain information is because I understand energy and I look at energy from an additional perspective. You can do it to. Step 2: Feel The Energy Now read from the beginning of Step 1 again. Before you do, close your eyes and take three deep breaths into your body. Absorb the energy of the words written above. This is what you need to know. * People and objects are light and sound constantly moving in our universe. * 90% of what you do is at an unconscious level. You operate on auto-pilot. Often you are unknowingly scared to feel emotions, to let energy run through you. * When you block feeling, you trap energy in your aura. This then weighs you down and can lead to tiredness, anxiety, sadness, frustration and depression. Step 3: Observe Your Energy It takes time to truly understand and master your energy. And to get the results you want, I suggest a daily 5 minutes commitment to check in with yourself at a pure energetic level. You don't have to do anything! You awareness will create change. Seeing the structure of your energy will help you to understand how your past influences your present. You can observe your energy through the use of your six senses: Seeing, Hearing, Feeling, Knowing, Smell and Taste Throughout your day, apply one of the above techniques to understand yourself better. When you do, you'll create the life you want.

Picture this: you and your impulsive friends thought that having a road trip is cool. With no particular reason or destination, you grabbed your car keys. Armed with a full tank and a few good friends, you started driving. You drove for hours; reached places you have yet stepped on. You're on an eclectic high, cherishing the open road letting all your worries drift away with the gushing wind. While on the road, you felt a little friction between the road and one of your tires. “It's nothing probably,” you said to yourself. Your friends felt the same---and thought the same as well. Little do you know that this 'nothing' will bring your joy ride to a halt. After a couple of miles you found yourself in a deserted place stuck with a busted tire without any spare. With the gas running low, you decided to look for the nearest phone booth to call a car towing company or road side service. Can't call your folks, they think you're all in school. So much for your cool road trip, huh? Anywho, with the car hauling company on the other line, you asked for an estimate. You were given an amount, unfortunately, realization knocked---you only have change jingling in your pocket. Karma has a way with people, don't you think? Even if you don't believe in such oriental philosophy, probably you'll listen to Newton's 3rd law which states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Poor you. Not one has access to any cash...tsk...tsk...tsk. You go back to the car with the hope of finding some cash. Alas! You were greeted by your own stupidity. The key, yes the key. You left the same inside the automobile. Now you really need a vehicle towing company or an understanding parent to salvage you from the wreck you're currently in. Oh, how the mighty has fallen. Though short on cash, you tried your best to negotiate with the car towing company. You proposed that you'll hand over your credit card, as collateral, until you're able to pay such service. With all these circumstances, you're able to stay your cool and not call your parents and not peel the skins off your friends for not exerting any effort to fix the problem. Thinking that doing the latter will bring more bad than good. Perhaps, it will. You stand your ground, and dare not cal your folks. You're too proud and a bit scared with regard the reaction that they'll be demonstrating. Will I be grounded? Will the allowance stop flowing? When will I be able to drive again? You begin formulating questions rhetorical or otherwise. At the same time, you're trying to prepare 'credible answers' to mislead your parents into believing that you and your friends didn't go for a joy ride. You have a detailed plan and your shared it to your friends, they approved of it. Actually, they're not in the position to argue for they have yet to contribute anything. With luck drifting to your side, the towing company----family owned and operated---agreed. They even mentioned a place where you can withdraw. Good. With your vehicle unlocked and the new wheel installed, you drove to the location where an ATM stands. As a bonus, aside from being directed to the main road, you were escorted by the towing company to said destination. With the service rendered, you paid them. On your way home, you stopped at a convenient store to gather 'project materials.' you were creative enough to pull off makeshift chemicals by mixing various liquids found in the store. You already have your spill thought out. 'These represents various chemicals that when combined will result in mild to violent reactions.' You drop off your friends. You make your way to your house. It's almost midnight. With the 'chemicals' on your hand and the spill in your head, you enter the house. A shocking fridge post greeted you. It states, “Honey, your dad and I will be coming home a little late. Don't wait for us, ok?” Moral lesson: Don't ditch school.

The terms “life experiences,” “choice,” “ karma,” “and unconditional love” are all part of the same whole. I will explain them individually, in the way that I received them in my own teachings; however, they must be understood holistically. One without the other can bring confusion. Together, these terms explain the wonder of life. Life Experience Life is physical. We are born into a physical body, and we live in a physical world. We interpret our experiences physically. This physicality allows us to “feel,” which the spirits have explained to me is the major component of the earth experience. The earth experience is one of emotion, where the soul acquires a physical understanding of emotion. For example, it is one thing to conceptualize anger and another thing to experience anger and to feel it throughout the body. The same holds true for love. It is significantly different to think about being in love and about the concept of love than it is to “feel” love and the emotions and physical sensations of love. When one thinks of the vast array of human emotions, one realizes how many lifetimes must be lived in order to “know” life. It is the spirits’ message that we live many lifetimes and experience many life forms and situations along our path to understanding. With each incarnation, your spirit selects the physical realities you will experience in that lifetime. You, embodied in your spirit, choose the circumstances you will be born into: the life conditions, the geographic location, the economic status, the handicaps, and the body type. You actually choose all of the fixed factors that will constitute a major portion of your life experience. You also choose your variable life conditions—those conditions that can change through growth and development as you progress through life. These choices constitute the conditions under which you live each lifetime. What you have chosen to experience is designed for a particular unfolding of your soul. The choices are made at a spiritual level—a soulful, subconscious level—before you incarnate into this particular body. The unfortunate thing about being human is that you do not get to remember, consciously, the spiritual choices that you made before your incarnation. This lack of remembering, however, allows you to experience each life fully and completely in its current physical reality. Choice Choice, or free will, refers to how you choose to relate to your life’s conditions. You can always choose your reaction to any given circumstance, which means that variables can change instantaneously with each choice. Your choices have direct impact on both your physical life and on the growth of your soul. Each lifetime will grant you a different perspective and facilitate new awareness. Each will provide physical experience for the soul. You may spend several lifetimes experiencing the hardships of life without any inclination to seek God or enlightenment; however, there will come a time when the soul asks you to wake up, to pay attention, and to look at the big picture of life. Questions like, “What is the purpose of life?” “Who am I?” and “What is God?” will arise in you. You will begin to search for answers. This may take many lifetimes and numerous answers, each with a variation of experience and exposure. In the end, every soul will reach enlightenment because every soul is a reflection of God. You may wonder why anybody would choose negative life experiences like sexual molestation, alcoholism, or being born into warring or starving countries; however, each life has a divine plan with necessary experiences for the soul. All life experience adds to personal growth. No life is a waste; there are no mistakes. No lifetime is judged to be better than another because each is a chosen experience toward enlightenment. A soul might choose to experience prejudice. You may have chosen to be a slave during the 1700’s in the United States as one dimension of the experience of prejudice. Since the soul is seeking to know all dimensions, you may then have chosen a lifetime as a slave owner, and then as a Ku Klux Klan member, then a parent who lost a child to the Klan, then a person of interracial marriage, and then a parent of someone who chose to marry interracially. Every conceivable perspective of prejudice could be experienced. The lessons in each of these lifetimes become a part of the unfolding process of the soul. You may currently be experiencing a lifetime with alcoholism—as the parent of an alcoholic, or the child, or the spouse, or the counselor, or as the alcoholic who dies from liver failure, or the alcoholic who survives and becomes reformed. Whatever perspective you are living is part of the divine plan for you to experience and learn from. Nothing is experienced singly; everything is interwoven with others who constitute your lifetime experience. Once you, as a soul, make the choice to experience a particular concept, other souls help you play out these experiences. They are often referred to as your “spirit family.” We tend to experience life on earth with a particular group of souls, changing parts, or scripts, with each lifetime. You will find numerous links and interconnections with your family or circle of friends when you start to explore other lifetimes. It can be fun and healing. Behaviors, attitudes, and trauma can be understood more completely from the deeper historical perspective. Here is an example: I was told a great true story the other day about a woman who was researching her genealogy. She traced her family line back to the era of the Civil War when her family served as slaves. She reached an impasse in her project, and was directed to a genealogy specialist. She and the specialist became great friends as they explored different aspects of her family’s history. They developed a special bond and were both glad their lives had come together. As their investigation continued, they discovered that they shared a common history. The genealogist’s ancestral family members were plantation owners during the Civil War, and, in fact, were the plantation owners where this woman’s ancestral family served as slaves! Coincidence you say? Hardly. Many times, in the process of a soul retrieval, I will journey to a client’s past life experience. A healing can be done in this past life reality that will actually affect my client’s current life—a phenomenon that underscores that time is relative. The spirits have repeatedly told me that time is not linear but holographic, meaning that all things happen at the same moment but in different realities. This makes shamanic journeying for soul retrievals, or visiting different lifetimes, possible. The person doing the journey travels into that particular time dimension. The ability to cross into other dimensions means we can relive or view a past event and find healing in what we thought no longer existed. We can remember a future before it is present. Jan promotes self-healing, empowerment, better communities, a healthier world and conducts workshops for shamanism and journeying. Her book, Becoming Yourself is at http://www.janengelssmith.com. Jan’s a Licensed Counselor and shamanic practitioner. She’s done over two thousand soul retrievals. She is the founder of LightSong School of Shamanic Studies, a Chemical Dependency Specialist, and Marriage and Family Therapist. She is also a water pourer for sweat lodge, a minister, a Reiki Master.
