Eye make up can be a tricky thing to master. When I first started getting to the age where I was allowed to wear the stuff to school, my mom never allowed me to wear eyeliner. Being rebellious, once I got to high school I wore a ton of it. Probably too much, in fact, although hindsight vision is always 20/20 and at the time I thought I looked really cute with my raccoon eyes. I learned a lot about eye make up from those teenage magazines with pictures of shirtless television heartthrobs in them, but they seemed to leave some very important parts out. For example, I never was told that eye make up works a lot better when you put on mascara last. Since it was the first makeup that I was allowed to wear, I got into the habit of putting it on first. Everyone knows, however, that you put it on after you put on your eyeshadow and gobs of eyeliner. Also, I went through this phase where all of my eyeshadow had some sort of sparkle to it. Little did I know that glitter was for Vegas, New Year's Eve and Halloween, almost exclusively. Still, eye make up is my favorite thing to apply and wear, to this day. You can change so much of your look just by changing your eye make up. You can go from daytime and demure to night time party animal with just a few shade changes and false lashes. Countless pages of fashion magazines and more store shelves than you can shake a stick at have been devoted exclusively to eye make up and how to apply it, and something about that demands respect. Even just talking about it makes me want to go throw on another coat of mascara! |

Cat Make Up Kits Before I tell you a bit more about the latest craze to hit my household, I must admit that I was a bit unsure about how to tackle this article. The melanin pigment in skin makes skin look colored. In people with dark colored skin, the density of melanin is high. In people of fair skin the density is low. The skin can get darker only if more melanin is produced. This happens during tanning. Melanin is formed by melanocytes that are scattered in the last layer of the epidermis. This layer is also called the basal layer. Melanocytes manufacture melanin and send it across to other parts of skin in a pack. This pack is called melanosome. The skin cells absorb these melanosomes and melanin is extracted. Melanin surrounds the DNA in the nucleus of the cell and protects the cell against sun. Acne- It's Effect On Skin? Acne makes skin look spotted. It is surely very bad looking. When acne resolves, it forms scar tissue. These are called acne scars. Most of the times the scar tissues have higher density of melanin. The scars look darker than the surrounding skin. If acne resolves without any scar, the color left may be darkish red that resolves slowly. Another change called Post Inflammatory Hyper pigmentation may take place. This hyper pigmentation is seen at the site of acne. This color takes time to fade away but it is not permanent like a scar. Acne does not make face darker. It's the scar tissue that is formed after acne resolves that makes face look darker, but that will also happen only if the spots are many. Finding The Right Franchise
Whether it's hamburgers, pizza, telecom, coffee, Internet, muffler parts, or seniors' services, there are Franchise opportunities available to evaluate. There are great Franchise systems, good Franchise systems, and bad Franchise systems. The challenge is to ask the right questions to find the right system that will fit your goals and dreams. The key is to ask the questions - and listen closely to the responses. Only then can you determine if the Franchise opportunity is the right fit for you. So whether it's food services like burgers or coffee, professional services like telecom or IT, or manual services like cleaning or oil changes, ask the questions and record the answers. Face-to-Face Meeting The system of evaluation for both parties should include a face-to-face meeting. After all, you are trying to determine if you want to get into business together for 5, 10, 15 or more years. If a Franchisor wants you to join the system without a face-to-face meeting, it doesn’t really make sense. Would you start a partnership business without meeting your partner? A Franchise is not an actual partnership, but the same criteria should apply. It should actually apply to the Franchisor every bit as much as to you. So if that meeting is not part of the process, the system is incomplete. There are several ways for the face-to-face meeting to take place. Many Franchisors have development personnel that will meet you in your community or a convenient location for both parties. Some Franchisors require a head office visit. Others will host Discovery Days, either at their head office or on a regional basis. All of these methods are fine, as long as you have some time for some one-on-one interaction. I once asked a mentor of mine when our company was first beginning to offer Franchises, about the best method to determine that ‘right’ match. He said to me that the ultimate test is whether you would be willing to have the person over for a barbeque in your backyard. Of course, there are many other factors, but his point was that it should be someone that you would like to be in business with, and would enjoy their company. The face-to-face meeting should also include an invitation for your spouse to participate. In fact, some systems require the spouse to be in attendance. Again, it is sensible to include spouses at the discovery stage because the ultimate decision to start a new Franchise business will be focused on building family dreams, and providing family security for the future. If a spouse is not fully aware and comfortable at the decision-making stage, it could create difficulties down the road as you build the business. The main point is that if a face-to-face meeting is not a part of the process, and your spouse is not welcome to attend, the process is faulty. First time buyers face an even greater struggle to get on to the property ladder, after 125 per cent mortgages disappeared from the market last night. Northern Rock and Birmingham Midshires were the last two lenders offering 100 per cent-plus home loans, but both decided to withdraw their deals amongst concerns over credit conditions. These 125 per cent deals were popular with first timers as they allowed them to take out a 95 per cent mortgage alongside a loan usually capped at £30,000. It meant homebuyers could purchase without a deposit and use the remaining money to pay for stamp duty and furnishing. It looks increasingly likely that all buyers will be forced into saving for a deposit from now on. Twelve lenders have withdrawn their 100 per cent deals in recent months, the most recent being the Bank of Scotland this week. The main cause of this pull out appears to be concerns that many homeowners are at risk of negative equity. A sudden collapse in the property market could leave many owing more than the value of their home and unable to pay off their loan. Though interest rate drops have eased the situation slightly, the Bank of England has vowed not to follow the example of the United States and announce huge cuts. “Lenders are pulling the deals because of the prospect of falls in house prices,” said David Hollingworth, of mortgage broker London & Country “The result is the virtual extinction of loans worth more than 100 per cent. “The outlook for existing borrowers with these deals are poor. I would urge all lenders to ensure they have a plan in place so that their customers do not get trapped paying an expensive Standard Variable Rate.” Analysts predict that house prices, particularly on the one and two-bedroom new build flats that attract first-time buyers, could plummet over coming months. Borrowers who currently have a 125 per cent deal may well face huge rises in repayments, and struggle to get a mortgage when they come to the end of their deal. Though several lenders have promised ‘roll-over’ packages for borrowers coming off these deals, there has no indication of how generous their rates will be. Borrowers who switch to rival lenders will have to pay punitive rates on the remaining unsecured loan, with Coventry and Alliance & Leicester both charging around 12 per cent on the outstanding balance. Those who stay loyal to their provider may also pay increased rates, and a homeowner with a £100,000 loan will have to pay an extra £112 a month on Northern Rock’s 7.84 per cent Standard Variable Rate. “With house prices set to remain flat at best, borrowers with these products should certainly plan toward the end of their deal as there could be few alternatives for refinancing,” added Mr Hollingworth. “Overpaying makes sense and I would hope that lenders will make some type of continuation product available.” There is no need for homebuyers on 125 per cent deals to panic, although most experts advise swift action. Lenders appear to be increasingly reluctant to offer high risk loans, so securing a good deal may well be easier now than in a couple of months. |
