Millions of people are trying to make money online with their own home-based business. It’s nothing new really; people have always tried to make money from home. Using the Internet, opportunities are plentiful. Here are just a few of the opportunities that are available.
One of the easiest and most popular methods of making money from home is through Ebay. Ebay is an online auction where items are bought and sold. It is easy to open an account and practically any item imaginable can be sold there. Many people sell used household items but many new items are sold as well. Many people make a very nice living by selling things on Ebay. If you decide to become an Ebay seller, make sure you research the cost to package and ship your item before listing it, especially if it is a large item. My daughter recently sold a baby carriage and paid over $100 to have it packaged and shipped. Another easy way to make money online is through blogging. A blog is a place to write whatever you are interested in. The most successful blogs are usually geared toward one subject, but you can write about whatever you like. By doing a search on Google (or your favorite search engine) you can many free blogs. Pick one (or as many as you like) and start blogging. If you want to make money with your blog, you have to write at least several times per week (every day is best). There are a number of ways to make money with your blog. You can add a donate button through PayPal. This allows people who like your blog to make donations. I know it may sound kind of chintzy, but a friend of mine with a large successful blog claims that donations are his biggest source of revenue. You can also post ads on your blog. Although there are many businesses that provide ads for your blog, Google’s Adsense program is excellent source of ads if you are just starting out. You can also make a very nice living online by writing an information product, also know as an Ebook. An ebook is a computer version of a traditional printed book. Ebooks are purchased, downloaded, and read through your computer. There are ebooks available on almost every subject imaginable. Is there is something that you’re good at? Are you an expert in a particular field? Do you have a hobby that you enjoy? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are well qualified to write an ebook. All you need is a word processor to get started. There are thousands of ways to make money online; these are just a few ideas to whet your appetite. Good luck in you quest for online income. | 2 | Is Pay Per Click Advertising for You? |

Pay-Per Click advertising, also known as PPC. Can be a very powerful tool to bring targeted traffic to your website. Used properly, it can help you increase sales and build the size of your list. However, you have to test and analyze your results to stay on track. Fail to do this and your PPC campaign can be a disaster costing you thousands with little or no results to speak of.
A friend told me about someone who started a new Internet business. He paid top dollar to have a quality website designed. Finally, everything he needed was up and running. He put all the proper SEO procedures in place; good keywords in all the right places, etc. His sales page and thank-you pages were top shelf and ready to go. Then he sat back and waited for the money to roll in. And of course, the money didn’t roll in. But still, he waited anxiously. And waited. He waited for several weeks and finally, he decided to do something. He’d heard about PPC advertising and thought that might be the way to go. He set up lots of keywords and waited for the money to roll in. This time his experience was a little different. He was getting lots of clicks and traffic but his conversion rate was horribly low. His PPC program was bringing in traffic, but the traffic was not interested in his product. Finally, after about a month, he decided that PPC was not for him. Horror stories like this are plentiful on the Internet. Do a thorough job of researching any advertising method you intend to use. When you are satisfied that you have chosen the right program, make sure you have the right tools to test and analyze your results. There are many companies that provide this information. Seek them out and use their services. Following are six key steps to a successful PPC campaign. Do your initial research. Evaluate your customers. Review your competition. Research your keywords. Create a budget and stick to it. Constantly review and analyze your results. PPC provides many businesses with a profitable and reliable source of traffic to their websites. Don’t jump into a program because you’ve listened to all the hype. Follow the procedures above so that you are not the subject of the next PPC horror story. FREE Downloads! | 3 | Good Free Resources for the Newbie |

I recently wrote an article designed to provide information to people who were new to Internet marketing. It was titled, “30 Marketing Facts for the Article Marketing Newbie.” Shortly after the article was posted, someone emailed me saying that they did not appreciate being called a newbie. Wow, some people are soooo sensitive.
I have two nephews that play Runescape on the Internet. It is a game where players interact with each other by buying, selling, acquiring items, and fighting monsters. They tell me that “newbie” or “noob” is considered a derogatory term on that site. Of course it is a game played mostly by the younger generation and profanity is not permitted. Newbie is not a derogatory term. It is a term that is commonly used on the Internet that refers to someone that is “new” to the business. If you’ve been involved in your Internet business for less than six months, you are probably a newbie. There’s nothing wrong with that, everyone’s got to start somewhere. I remember when I first ventured into the business. As I wasn’t a techie (knowledgeable in technical computer matters), it all seemed a little overwhelming at first. I didn’t know an SEO from a MLM and I thought a JV was a junior varsity something or other. (It is a joint venture.) But in time I learned some of the jargon and you will too. However, if you are a newbie, don’t despair. Although many sites offer info for the newbie at a price, there are sites that you can visit that offer help for free. One such site is Joe Robson's "The Newbie Club" (http://www.newbieclub.com/). The Newbie Club provides free ebooks, free tutorials, free ecourses, a free guest book for your website, free autoresponders, and best of all, free membership. This is a great place to go if you are relatively new to the business and need information relating to the Internet or computers. Another great resource for information is on the article marketing sites. Of course, I’m probably preaching to the choir on this because that’s how you found this article. But you can find information on almost any topic imaginable by searching among their article database. Truly amazing and all for free. One final method I suggest for information is through forums. A forum is basically a place where you can go to ask questions and have them answered. The easiest way to get started is to browse through the questions that have been asked previously. Frequently this will provide you with the information you need. If you don’t find your answers there, post your own question. So, remember, newbie is not a derogatory term. And, if you are a newbie, good luck in your new endeavor! Many people struggle financially online. But, with a little hard work and perseverance, you can build a super successful Internet business.
How is this possible? Developing and creating your own product is one of the primary keys to real success in the Internet marketing business. All of the super successful marketers insist that you need your own product. I’ve read many articles that told of marketers who struggled financially until they finally developed their own product. Why is it so important to have your own product? You are not at the mercy of some unknown merchant. You determine the price for your products. You can set up a system so that you do not have to wait several weeks to get your checks. However, the number one reason that you should develop you own product is that you can build your own affiliate network. That is the number one key to success! It is how almost all of the super successful Internet marketers became successful. In fact, recruiting others to sell a product is how most ultra successful businesses operate, regardless of their field (or niche). Toyota doesn’t sell their cars one at a time to individual buyers; they have a legion of independent dealerships that sell for them. Exxon doesn’t sell gasoline to the buying public, they leave that to thousands of independent gas stations. Those selling for Toyota, Exxon, and others represent their affiliate network. These mega-companies get thousands of others to sell their product and keep a percentage of each sale for themselves. By doing this, they have amassed huge fortunes amounting to billions of dollars. I’m not saying that you will earn billions with your affiliate program. But, if your Internet business is struggling, an affiliate program is something you should consider. It could make the difference between just getting by and making a very nice living. But before you can establish an affiliate program, you need your own product. Developing an ebook is an excellent product to start with. Ebooks are well received by the public, they sell very well, depending of course on the subject matter, and they are fairly easy to put together. Using an affiliate network to sell your product is fastest way to achieve success. So get busy. Spend sometime on developing your own product. Then, in a year or two, when you send out a newsletter to your army of affiliates, you can refer to that time long ago, when you too struggled financially... I write and submit articles everyday. It’s a situation that works well for me. I enjoy writing, it brings traffic to my sites, and it makes me money. If you are like me and submit articles on a regular basis, why not submit your articles to sites that share some of the revenue that they are making.
Most article submission sites work this way: You work hard writing your article. You spend your valuable time submitting that article to numerous sites. Their computer posts your article after it is automatically loaded up with ads. Visitors read your articles and click on the ads they contain. The submission site makes ALL of the money. Why should the submission site make all of the money? After all, you are the one who worked hard writing the article. You are the one who spent your valuable time submitting it. Why shouldn’t you make some of the money? I don’t really mind that these sites make all of the money; after all, it is a business. But some of these sites act like they’re doing me a favor by posting my article! If you’re tired of doing all of the work and allowing someone else to make all of the money, check out some of the revenue sharing sites. They work a little differently, but basically, they place ads in your articles and as people click on those ads, they split the money that those clicks generate. Some sites give you 100% of the income, others give you 50%. Either way, it is better than nothing. Following is a list of sites that share revenue with you: Helium Savvify Hotwebtools Articlewise Oocuz Senserely Xomba As long as you are writing and submitting articles anyway, why not submit to sites that are willing to put a little money in your pocket. To be honest, you are not going to retire by using the sites above, but you could make enough to buy the occasional lunch. So, if you are tired of doing all of the work and making none of the money, add the revenue sharing sites above to the list that you submit your articles to and go out to lunch tomorrow. People ask me about auto-responders all of the time. My answer is always the same. To make serious money in the article marketing business, you absolutely need an auto-responder!
The top two in the industry are Aweber and GetResponse. I think you probably couldn't go wrong by choosing either one of those for your auto-responder needs. Before choosing one, I did a fair amount of research. Ultimately, I decided to go with Getresponse and have been very happy with them. Aweber and GetResponse are actually quite similar as far as features offered. GetResponse is somewhat cheaper. You can start out with their free version and then transfer to a paid subscription. With GetResponse, you have the ability to set up an unlimited number of campaigns. This is ideal if you have websites in a number of different niches. You can set up different auto-responders for different sites. I also like their spam check system. This feature allows you to design your emails so that spam filters will not think they are receiving spam and send my emails to a bulk file. I also investigated the autoresponders that reside on your own computer. It is nice in that it gives you complete control over the entire process. These auto-responders were significantly cheaper (some of them were free). However, I decided against it after investigating the laws governing spam. There are some very strict laws in effect regarding spam that carry significant penalties. GetResponse's procedures keep me out of trouble in that regard and that was very important to me. GetResponse currently allows unlimited follow-up messages. As time goes on, you will come to realize that is a very important feature. It also provides 19 alternative domain names to receive messages. It has a spam-check feature to avoid detection by other ISP's spam filters, and provides a list builder service to help you build your opt-in list (at a cost). The current price starts at $17.95 per month for a basic account, with a refund period of 30 days. You can get it even cheaper if you sign up for a longer period. Another great feature is the fact that they provide toll-free phone support. Phone support is very important in the event that your computer (or theirs) goes down. If you are looking for an autoresponder, I can recommend GetResponse very highly. FREE EBOOKS! FREE DOWNLOADS Make Money! Build Your List! | 7 | How to Write Original Articles |

The new buzzword is fresh content. Web masters are always on the lookout fresh new original material to add to their site. This is an easy for me, I write articles every day. Of course, others are not so lucky. Many people find it difficult to write articles. They speak well, but when it comes to putting those words down in writing, they seem to have perpetual writers block and freeze up. Keep in mind that your article should contain between 350 to 500 words. It’s really not that hard to write 350 words.
If you find it difficult to write, follow these tips below to release the writer in you: Write a how to article. People are hungry for information and How To articles are always popular. Start out by writing an outline. Detail the five or six steps it takes to perform a task. Under each task, write two or three sentences that provide additional information on that particular step. Write a short introduction explaining either you expertise in the area, or the reason your How To is important. Before you know it, you’ll have a completed article. Write an article on five or ten tips to perform a task. Begin your Tips article with an introduction and explain how your tips can save time or improve one’s life. These types of articles are also very popular. This type of article is fairly easy to write. We all have little shortcuts that we use in our business or daily routine. Write them down in list and provide a few sentences about each one. Under each tip, provide information on the consequences of not following that tip. Write your own success story. If you have done well in a particular area, I can assure you that people are interested in how you did it. Start out by explaining what your circumstances were like before you achieved success. Then detail the steps you performed to become successful. Conclude your article by giving some information on what your life or routine is like now. I’ve listed a few article ideas above. For additional ideas, search among the millions of titles at the large article submission sites. If you can’t come up with an idea using that method, you can always pay for original content. | 8 | What it Takes to Operate a Successful Internet Business |

Have you ever heard of the 80-20 rule? It is a ratio that is quite common in business, particularly in sales. There are many applications of this ratio:
1) 80% of your business will come from the top 20% of your clients. 2) 80% of a business’s sales will be generated by the top 20% of its sales people. 3) 80% of all business ventures will fail. Only 20% will succeed. In this article, I will focus on item #3 above, specifically, why do only 20% of the Internet Marketing businesses succeed? It might be easier to ask why 80% of these businesses fail? Most people fail for one or more of the following reasons: They fail to gain the knowledge of what is needed to operate a profitable business. Although they are aware of what needs to be done, they fail to do the necessary work. They get bored with it and stop working completely or only work sporadically. Because they want immediate results and aren’t seeing them, they quit working just before their efforts begin to pay off. Of course, there are many more reasons why businesses fail, but we cannot develop a complete list in an article this size. However, these are some of the main reasons. To avoid failure in your business and be among the 20% that succeed, follow a few basic steps for success: Acquire the knowledge necessary to operate a successful business. That includes reading how to’s, buying ebooks, talking to experienced entrepreneurs, etc. Do whatever is necessary to learn how to operate a successful business and then do it! Almost all successful businesses require that certain jobs be performed on a daily basis (at least in the beginning). Develop a daily plan of action and commit the time to complete those required tasks. Very few jobs are fun and even fewer are exciting. Do the necessary work on a daily basis, even if it is dull and boring. Putting up with a little boredom now can pay you big dividends in the future. Don’t expect instant gratification if you are starting your own business. Any worthwhile business is going to require a good deal of care, a great deal of time, and an incredible amount of work. Give your business plenty of all three and it may provide you with a lifetime of benefits worth ten times your efforts. You need a product for real success. | 9 | Make Money and Generate Traffic with Your Articles |

People write articles for different reasons. Some people write to see their name in print, others try to generate traffic to their blog or website, and some write articles to generate income. I write for traffic and income. And, I must admit, it has worked out quite well on both fronts.
Before I started writing articles, the traffic to my sites was growing quite slowly, as was my income. One month I made $3.67, the next month I made $5.21. Hardly enough to live on! I did some intensive research to develop a strategy to increase my income as well as traffic to my site and do it as cheaply as possible. I researched hundreds, maybe thousands, of articles on the subjects. I concluded that I could achieve both of my goals quite effectively by writing articles. When I began marketing articles, I focused primarily on the income they could generate. The traffic was an added bonus. All of the articles I write are targeted to correspond to a product or service I’m promoting. This strategy has worked extremely well for me. In my first month using this method, I made $167. This represented a huge increase over prior months. Now, after applying this strategy for a little over six months, I make several thousand per month and it’s growing very nicely. Of course, to make this kind of money, you have to write a lot of articles. You will not achieve these results by writing 10 articles per month! You have to write and submit several articles each day. With each of my articles, I carefully craft a resource box with either two or three links. Each resource box is targeted to the information contained in that article. Each link is closely related to the subject of that article. If a reader was interested in my article, they will probably be interested in the related links that I provide in my resource box. If readers like my style of writing, the information I provide, and the design of my article, they will click on my links. If they do not like the article, they will most likely leave the article before finishing it. For that reason, those who are interested in the topic and like my style will click my link. My website provides me with another advantage. I offer many free ebooks, pdf’s, and articles at my site. And, as a general rule, people like free stuff. I publicize this fact in my resource box and get plenty of traffic from my articles. If you want to generate additional traffic, offer people plenty of stuff for free. FREE EBOOKS! Are you making money on the Internet? Many sites never make a penny while others prosper like wild fire. Which category does your site fall into? There are numerous reasons why some sites fail to make any real money on the Internet. We’ll cover a few of the major reasons in this article. Follow the techniques below and begin profiting on the Internet.
Make sure your website is targeted to one specific area. Too many sites cover a little of this and a little of that. Choose just one subject and build your site around that theme. By doing this, you will get a growing list of interested, repeat visitors. Provide free content on your site. Add additional information frequently and change it often. Make visitors aware that your offerings change on a regular basis. If you can give visitors information that they find valuable and useful, they will come back often and, more importantly, they will tell others. Word of mouth advertising is the absolute best kind. Entice people to link to your web site by giving them something free in return. This will increase your ranking in some search engines. Use several marketing methods to bring people to your site. Unless you are wildly successful, do not use just one method to advertise, use several. I write articles, lots of them, and that technique works for me. The resource boxes in my articles bring people to my site every day. In addition, consider using free ads, ezine ads, solo ads, email, and forums as advertising sources. Consider placing some ads on your site. It probably won’t make you rich right away, but every little bit helps. Invest a percentage of your profits back into your business. Spend it on marketing, a domain name, advertising, etc. By reinvesting a portion of your profits back into your business, you increase the odds that you will make more money next month (and the month after that). Make sure you have a sign-in box to collect the names and email address of your visitors. It is important to build a list. The consistent, long term money is made through your list. A good list can double the amount of income that you generate over time. Add a pop-up sign-in box on every page of your website. It will increase your sign-in numbers substantially. Use the techniques above to begin making some money and profiting on the Internet. As you begin to make money, you’ll be more attentive to your site and this may help you make more money each month. | 11 | Perfecting Your Squeeze Page |

You can make a lot of money on the Internet. Those who are the most successful make the bulk of their money from their lists. To be truly successful, you need a large (and growing) list. List building is one area where size really does matter, the bigger your list, the bigger your income. And the better your squeeze page, the faster your list will grow.
A squeeze page is web page where visitors sign in and subscribe to your list. The primary (first) link in all of my articles will point to my squeeze page. With each article I write, I have two goals in mind. My primary goal is to entice readers to opt into my list. My second objective is to offer some sort of promotional sale item that viewers may be interested in buying. Granted, only a very small percentage of people will make a purchase after seeing a single article, but it is money just the same. Follow the guidelines below to build that perfect squeeze page and start generating those huge long-term profits. Make sure your opt in box is ‘above the fold,’ that means, you will see this box without having to page up, page down, or otherwise use your mouse. Your opt in box should have a place of prominence on your page. I’ve heard some people say that they increased the conversion percentages substantially by moving their opt in box to the top. Although I must admit, I have not done that sort of research, so I can’t be certain about that. There should never be any distractions on your squeeze page. No ads of any kind, no links, no nothing! Your one and only goal is to convince the reader to opt in. Do not give your visitors an opportunity to click on an item and leave your page. Your long-term success depends upon the quality and quantity of your list. Don’t be afraid to tweak your squeeze page. Then, make sure you test the results to see which page performed better. Remember, the long-term money is in your list, and the size of your list is directly related to the quality of your squeeze page. The information in this article is taken from an excerpt of my ebook, Super Charge Your List, which is available at my website. FREE EBOOKS! FREE DOWNLOADS Make Money! Build Your List! If you read a lot of articles, you’ve probably noticed a box that includes a number of links at the end of each article. This is called the author’s biography, bio, or resource box. The links located in the resource box are the author’s payment for writing the article.
Different authors put different types of information in their resource boxes, depending on their goals. Some writers add their biographical information into this section. These authors are trying to build up their reputation in a particular field. Many authors write articles to increase traffic to their website. In this case, they will add a link to their website’s sign-in (squeeze) page. Others write articles to generate income. These writers add links to their own products or to affiliate products that they are recommending. Some submission sites will allow an author to include up to three links in a resource box, and others will allow just one or two. Take full advantage of the resource box and place the maximum number of links that the site will allow. With my articles, I always place the first link to my sign-in page. To be successful in the Internet marketing business, you need a large list of subscribers. By adding a link to my sign-in page in each of my articles, I am always increasing the size of my list. As the size of my list increases, so does my income. My second link will usually be for one of my own products. To be successful in this business, you need your own product. You will make much more money selling your own product than selling someone else’s. If you don’t have your own product yet, you should definitely work toward that goal. All of the really successful Internet marketing people have their own products. My third link will point toward another one of my products or an affiliate product that is related to the content of the article. If you can recommend a product that is related to your article, you will usually see a larger number of clicks from that link. I never use html in my resource boxes, even if a site states that you can. The reason for this is simple. Some of the ezines that run your article from an RSS feed will publish in plain text only. In these cases, the hard work that you put into your resource box will look like a jumbled mess. For that reason, I use plain text in all of my resource boxes. FREE EBOOKS! FREE DOWNLOADS Make Money! I am frequently asked how many URL clicks or how many page views can be expected with the average article. And, although I keep good records, I’ve never done any research on that. In preparation for this article, I did a search on Google and found tons of research on website page views per visitor, but I found nothing on average page views for individual articles. So, in the interest of research, I compiled this information based on articles that I submitted to the largest submission site over the past three-months.
Keep in mind that I submit articles everyday. Therefore, some of the articles were submitted three months ago and some of the articles were submitted in the last week. Also, the information below represents the average performance, some articles did ten times better and some did one tenth as well. Page Views Page views are the lifeblood of your article business. The number of page views your article achieves determines all of the other performance figures that your article attains. Over this time period, my average article received 56 page views. URL Clicks The number of times that readers click on the links in your resource box is one of the main reasons that most of us write articles. On average, 3.7 readers have clicked on my links. Some of my articles have had as many as 17% of the readers click on my links. This is an unusually high percentage. Using the average page views and URL clicks above, 6.6% of those who read my articles click on my links. Ezines Published My average article is published in 1.8 ezines. Use the information posted above to compare the performance of your articles versus my three-month sample. I’d be very interested in seeing how these numbers compare with others who write articles on a consistent basis. Want your own product? If the main goal of your article is to generate traffic to your site, don’t think of it as an article, think of it as a sales piece. Before writing the article, list your goals. Do you merely want to provide information and let people know you are knowledgeable in the field? Do you want to generate web traffic and entice readers to click on your links? It is imperative that you develop a goal for each article you write.
If your goal is to entice the viewer to click on your links, make sure you give them enough information in the article to pique their curiosity. Offer them more detailed information in your resource box by clicking the link. Before writing your article, make a list of the main features of the item or service you are promoting. If you are writing about autoresponders, list the features of autoresponders. For each of these features, write how it would benefit the user. This is called a benefit. For example: Feature - It can send out thousands of sales presentations simultaneously. Benefit – You can earn thousands of dollars at the push of a button. Paint a picture with your benefits. Make an emotional appeal so the viewers can actually see themselves. In the example above you can change the benefit to: Let your autoresponder go to work earning you thousands of dollars while you take the day off and go to the beach. Choose two or three of your strongest benefits and write them into your article. Start with the items that would be most attractive to your reader. It is not necessary to go into great detail; you will do that after they click on your link. Lastly, it is absolutely imperative that you give your article a compelling title. Write an attention grabbing title that compels the viewer to read further. People tend to skim over the available titles when they are looking for information. Your article has to jump out at them. Your title is your advertising; it is the most important part of your article. If you write a great article and give it a boring title, no one will read it and all of your hard work will have been for nothing. Using the techniques above, you can substantially increase the number of URL clicks your articles attain. I’m sorry, but I’ve got to go now. You see the tide is coming in and the waves are approaching my beach chair. Anyway, I can use another drink. I’ll meet you on the beach! An affiliate program is an excellent way to start making money on the Internet. You register as an affiliate with a company (called the merchant) that provides a product for sale. There is usually no charge to register. You do not need to purchase a product to keep in inventory. You don’t have to worry about developing your own product. It is not necessary to mail out a product as sales are made. You can even start your affiliate business without a website, although it is an advantage if you have one. Your only job is to refer people to the merchant’s website.
Each time one of your referred visitors buys a product from the merchant, you collect a commission. The merchant is responsible for developing the product, negotiating the actual sale (through their website), handling the payment collection, sending out the product, and handling any problems. Your commission can vary according to the merchant and product but generally ranges between 30% and 75% of the sale price. You do not need a merchant account, nor do you need to have any sort of checkout procedure or shopping cart. Your only responsibility is to send people to the merchant’s website, they take care of the rest. Don’t get me wrong; marketing an affiliate program is not an easy business. You’ve got to work to get people interested enough to get them to visit the merchant’s website. You can generate interest in your affiliate products by using articles, websites, blogs, ads, email, forums, and banners. You are only limited by your imagination. Do not, however, use spam to generate visitors! That is a sure way to get banned from affiliate participation, and possibly be prosecuted under the law. The penalties for spamming are quite severe and can even result in jail time. One of the most appealing features of an affiliate program is how quickly you can begin to make money. Once you sign up as an affiliate, you can start making money right away! It is one of the easiest, cheapest, and quickest methods to start up an Internet business. Most of us write articles to generate clicks from the links that we place in the resource box. The main purpose of this is to either increase traffic to our websites or to interest readers in a product that we are promoting. But how do we realize these goals?
In order to succeed, there are 3 main tasks you must accomplish: 1) You’ve got to attract readers. The only real method to attract viewers is with a compelling title. When people are looking for information on a particular subject, they scan through a list of titles. This list may contain several hundred articles. Your title has to grab them and compel them to read your piece. Your title has to jump out at them and draw them in. If you’ve written a great article full of fascinating information, no one will read it if it has an uninteresting title. All of your work will have been fruitless. You’ve got to grab their attention with an intriguing title. 2) You’ve got to have a good article. If your article is not well written, or if it contains little information of value, your readers will quickly click away, and again, your work will have been fruitless. For that reason, it is important to write a great article with good information, and a compelling title. 3) The third ingredient for a successful article is a good resource box. Ideally, the information in your article should be related to the links in your resource box. This is extremely important. If your article is about ice fishing in Alaska and your links refer to vacationing in the tropics, you probably won’t generate many clicks. That’s because the people who read the article are interested in ice fishing, not sun bathing. However, if your resource box contained links for a travel agency specializing in Alaskan tours, you would probably generate a lot of clicks. Coordinate the information in your resource box with the content of your article. I use a number of different resource boxes, depending on what I am writing about. If you’ve done a good job in each of these three areas, your article will achieve very good readership and your links will generate plenty of traffic. If your article is generating good readership, but you are not getting many clicks, it may mean that you need to work on steps 2 or 3 above. With some of my best articles, over 17% of the readers have clicked on my links. That is a great percentage! On average though, only about 7%-8% of readers will click on a link. If you would like to generate money as well as clicks with your articles, write your own ebook. It’s easier than you think with Create Your Own Ebook in 3 Easy Steps. To maximize the income you make from your Internet business, keep good records. I save each article I write in a file I call “Published.” I save the resource box, summary, and keywords along with the body of each article I write. Once per quarter, I transfer these files onto a CD.
On the larger article submission sites, you can determine your page views, URL clicks, and published ezines. This is extremely useful information. With it, you can determine which articles were the most popular with the public. You can also conclude which resource boxes worked the best. This information is critical. After all, the number of URL clicks is the primary reason that most people write articles. The other necessary component is a good stat counter on your site. Make sure it is embedded on every page of your site. There are a number of important facts that you can discover from a good stat counter: 1) How many people visit your site? This, of course, is particularly important. If no one is visiting your site, you may as well close it down. A lack of traffic can tell you a lot; maybe your content is lacking or perhaps your ads and resource boxes are not compelling. In any case, a lack of, or decline in traffic is a sign that there is a problem. 2) Where do your visitors come from? Do they come from your ads or your article submission sites? If so, which ones do they come from? If you haven’t had a visitor from a submission site (or ad) in several weeks, stop submitting to them. Find a site (or ad) with a bigger or more responsive audience. 3) Which search terms were used to find your site? This can be particular telling. If a large number of your visitors find your site by using the same search term, provide more content in that targeted area. This will attract additional like-minded visitors. 4) Which pages were visited on your site? If certain pages on your site are ignored by your visitors, replace them with fresh content. Or, replace the content on the 3 or 4 pages with lowest number of visits. This will prevent your site from getting stale and may attract more traffic. A good stat counter can provide you with these, and many more statistics. From this data you will know what appealed to your viewers and can use this information to be more successful in the future. It can also help you decide which topics to focus on for future articles, ads, and resource boxes. If you’re focused on making money, you know you need your own product! When you browse among a number of sale items, most people will choose the product that makes them feel the best. The key word is FEEL. Whether you realize it or not, making a purchase is an emotional activity. The way you feel is an emotional response. A few examples of the emotional responses are: happy, sad, cozy, secure, etc. You bought that super-sized TV because it makes you happy. Sitting on that sofa is so comfortable and cozy. The car you are considering will impress the neighbors. People buy things to satisfy their emotional needs.
Some words or phrases cater to these emotional needs more than others. Use these emotional trigger words in your titles, ads, emails, and sales pages to encourage people to buy. As proof, from which ad below would you prefer to purchase: Ad 1) Sale, sale, sale! Free bonus – today only! New Item-XYZ Bird Feeder! Limited supply-Order today and get FREE Birdseed! Easy Low Payment, Free shipping, Fast delivery! Your complete Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back – no questions asked! Ad 2) Bird Feeder and birdseed – no charge to ship. Both of these ads are selling the same thing. But, if you were like most people, you would prefer to buy from ad number 1. In that ad, all of the key words in the list below are used. Try using some of these words in your ads, sales pages, and emails and watch your sales increase! 1. Use the word "free" in your ad. Everybody likes a free incentive to do business with you. Offer free ebooks, downloads, reports, etc. 2. Use the word "guaranteed". It is reassuring to know that they are not risking their money buying a product that they won't like. They like to have some recourse if they are not happy. 3. Use the word "new" in your ad. People want new products or services that will improve their life. 4. Use the word "limited" in your ad. People want to have items that are exclusive. Rare products have a higher perceived value. Please excuse me now; I have to finish up here. You see, I saw this ad for one of those new XYZ Birdfeeders that I’ve just GOT to have... Start Making Money Today! CREATE YOUR OWN EBOOK IN 3 EASY STEPS! Order NOW for your FREE BONUS! In any business, there are a few individuals that excel to super star levels and make millions upon millions of dollars. And likewise, there are some who struggle for years and make little if any money at all. The rest of us are somewhere in the middle ground between the two.
Regardless of what business you are in, you should try to emulate the super stars. Try to do what they do. I’m not saying that you will immediately vault up to super star status, but your results will almost certainly improve. Some of the characteristics of the Internet super stars are as follows: 1) They are diversified and participate in more than one niche. If an opportunity presents itself, they can swiftly change gears and exploit an additional area. 2) They pay talented people to take care of the details on their numerous websites. They pay others to take care of the more mundane day-to-day issues. This frees up their time to work on items that they believe to be more important, like developing new products. 3) They stay in constant touch with the people on their list. They act as a trusted adviser who wouldn’t steer them wrong. They do not pitch every new product that comes down the pike. 4) They nurture their list; it is their most valuable asset. They work daily on activities to continually expand it. 5) They develop and sell their own products. When appropriate, they allow others to sell them on an affiliate basis. 6) They take advantage of every possible method in monetizing the Internet and their websites. They use all types of advertising income and any other income sources available. 7) They continually work to build traffic to their websites. By growing their traffic today, they are insuring an increase in income tomorrow. 8) They develop and sell their own products. When appropriate, they allow others to sell them on an affiliate basis. It is generally agreed that the number one method to be successful is to develop your own product. You must have your own products in order to excel. By working daily toward these goals, you too have an opportunity to grow your Internet business. For the most part, those who have achieved the most success have done it by working the hardest. Very few, if any, have inherited successful websites from their parents, most have worked very hard and earned every penny they have. So imitate the superstars and someday, people new in the business may try to imitate you. Create your own Ebook and make BIG MONEY! Like everyone else, I struggled in the beginning as I stated my Internet business. After two months, I still hadn’t made any real money. During that time, I think I made less than $2.00 in Adsense revenue. Hardly enough to live on!
At about that time I did a thorough analysis of my Internet business. I closely examined what I was doing and what I needed to change in order to be successful. After a thorough assessment, I put those changes into effect. I got rid of my free autoresponder and signed up for the paid version. Too many of my emails were ending up in my prospects’ junk/bulk email boxes. This led to an immediate improvement in my email response rates. Obviously, my emails were now getting through to inboxes. I bought a domain name and arranged for quality hosting. This resulted in an immediate improvement in the number of clicks that my articles were achieving. I initiated a few pre-sell pages and noticed my affiliate sales began to inch higher. But still, I wasn’t earning a substantial amount of money. I determined that I needed one more critical item to jump-start my income. I needed my own product. Over the course of the next month, I developed my own Ebook, sales page, and ad campaign. I advertised my Ebook using four paid ads (at ten dollars each), free ezine ads, and my articles. During my first full month marketing my own product, I made almost $400. I re-invested half of the proceeds into additional ads and I made $1,200 in my second full month. At that point, I realized that I could indeed make a very nice living on the Internet marketing my own products. I immediately set to work on my second Ebook and from that point, my income moved steadily higher. If you want to be successful, and make a living on the Internet, develop our own product. There are numerous advantages to having your own product. You are in complete control. You receive 100% of the proceeds of your sales. You determine the price and can change it at will. And, best of all, you can enlist others to help sell your product through affiliate programs. Success is right around the corner if you develop your own product. If you are ready to turn that corner of success, you can develop your own product with "Create Your Own Ebook in 3 Easy Steps". This PDF makes it very easy develop your own product, even if you have no experience! Success is right around the corner!
