To become enlightened is to know that no matter what your life has been like, each and every experience you have had taught you a valuable lesson that you were meant to learn. The universal energy has always provided assistance to us in one way or another. Life’s lessons are nothing more than a way for us to gain wisdom.
As you get older, one of the lessons we all should learn is to be patient with life. By being more patient and calmer, you will have more time to explore your higher self or you inner self. Learn how to focus by meditating and practice it every chance you get. Many people believe that there is no such thing as an accident or coincidence because we and everything else is connected to a universal energy of love and information. This energy is ever increasing tide of insights and awareness and another source of information. You just need to know how to access it. To become enlightened is the ability to change the way you think. Focus on what is working rather than becoming frustrated and angry over what isn’t. Think about it, listen to the mind chatter going on, talk about it even meditate on it. This will allow you to confront the issue directly and by thinking about it and talking about it you are also focusing in on the issue, which will help you to clarify what needs to be done about it. Release any mental, emotional or physical attachments you may have formed by listening to negative people and their opinion of you. Let go of any negativity of the past. We also have a habit of becoming attached to people we are familiar with even though those people are the same ones who are critical of you or think they should have some kind of power of what you do, say or think. The reason we feel pain and suffering is because it goes against the universal order of things in that pain and suffering is our life force energy telling us to let go. It is to affect change, which is necessary to get away from your ego and return to the spiritual. Sometime we are our own worse enemy due to an internal victimization programming because of people who feel sorry for us because of our pain. This is a way for the unenlightened to get attention, which is feeding the ego rather than the spiritual. We also become victims by becoming martyrs and groining the ‘woe is me’ mantra. This is a serious impediment to enlightenment. You basically need to get over yourself and really start to live by getting in touch with your higher self. Conrad Raw is an expert in practical techniques for personal and spiritual development. He is the author of "Forbidden Secrets of Personal and Energetic Development." He travels the world to learn and teach and is the founder of http://www.greaterhumanpotential.com a website devoted to bringing you easy to learn techniques to increase your human evolution. Enlightenment: like falling off a log? I believe that being enlightened is a very easy state to be in. Certainly being dysfunctional is far more difficult, exhausting in fact. If you take a good look at the average American city-dweller, you generally see the face of total exhaustion regardless of the time of day or day of the week. What is it they are trying to do that is so tiring? Now on the other hand, from I have experienced of the so-called higher states of consciousness, being enlightened is very pleasant and requires no effort at all. In fact it is the absence of effort that seems to make it possible. If it is so easy, why are so few people doing it? According to yoga philosophy, we are being pulled in two opposite directions by opposing forces; the extroversive force and the introversive force. The extroversive force draws us out of ourselves into the physical world and the introversive force draws us inward towards the core of our existence, our true Self, our soul, or our own "I feeling" as my teacher referred to it. The one path leads to a world of endless ups and downs, pleasure and pain and the concomitant mental noise and unconscious efforts to manipulate our environment in a vain attempt to achieve security. The other path leads to lasting peace, joy and wisdom. Seems like a no brainer, but the tricky part is that we are dealing with very subtle forces that operate beneath the radar of our normal conscious mind. In addition, we are trying to make decisions that threaten the very existence of that "mind" (as we know it). Did you ever see the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey? Remember the spaceship's computer "Hal" that ran everything on board the ship? It was found to be defective and a threat to the mission and therefore had to be deactivated, but of course HAL didn't like that idea and tried to kill all the crew members in order to preserve its own existence. I reckon it is like that with our own ego. So, we see the difficulty in just rolling off the dysfunction log into blissful enlightenment, and arrive at the inconvenient need for the spirit of self-sacrifice. A great yogi Swami Rama wrote that enlightenment requires a "determined effacement of the ego." I still say that doesn't have to be such a big problem if we can just keep our mind on the goal, the blissful treasures of enlightenment, which are ever waiting to rain down on us as soon as we lower our ego umbrella. It needn't be that difficult to make the switch. We just need to shed a little light on the process, reflect a little and make a rational decision. Tending to the needs of the ego is sort of like biting your fingernails, isn't it? You don't really notice you are doing it. It's not pleasurable. It's just an unconscious habit, a compulsion. Well, if egoity is just an unconscious not very well thought out habit, then awareness must be the cure. When I was in high school a guest speaker on social issues told us all during an assembly: "I'm not telling you what to decide, just to decide." Good advice, and to make an educated decision about the course of our lives, we need to become intimately familiar with the workings of the tools and materials at hand: the mind, the soul, God. I believe this is what the yogis call "self-reflection" is it not? Examining the mind, the soul, running experiments in our mental laboratories. I don't think you will have to look far to find there is something worth seeking there. Good luck, and bon voyage. Peace and Love to you all. Copyright 2007 Bruce Boyd and BabaNam.com |

Within one generation technology has brought the world together in ways unimaginable to most people. We have extended our awareness through satellite, cellular and fiber optic applications. The World Wide Web has created a global mind with information being shared with millions in seconds; ideas move through the World Wide Web much like thought moving through fields of neurons in our brain. Where we used to have most of our classes in a room, now most people are dialing in through teleconference lines, and listening to our classes on their PDA's and iPods; we grew from a few hundred to tens of thousands all over the world in just a couple years! Our Institute is virtual, each staff member works out of their home, and I rarely even meet the students I work with in person. It's not necessary; transmitting Shakti is even more effective virtually since the teacher is not the person but the spirit that is non-physical. This adaptation of technology has also provided an opening in consciousness that enables me to connect with you in ways unimagined in earlier times. Where Shaktipat had traditionally been transmitted through physical touch or presence from teacher to student, it is now broadcast virtually like a satellite signal to students all over the globe. For the first time in history people half way around the globe can connect with the Shakti anytime by simply "tuning in" to the life force that passes through me to you. In this way we join in spirit and commune in Divine Grace. We are all connected in spirit. This month we launch our Membership program. Now anyone with a computer, anywhere in the world, can connect energetically to our spiritual community and radically accelerate their instinctive evolutionary enlightenment. The spiritual connection is transferred through voice, written words, and through spirit itself. You have been called to awaken from the dream and fulfill your life purpose. You are part of a growing body of people who are being led to full enlightenment and you know this instinctively. Your enlightenment is creating the critical mass that is shifting the collective consciousness of humanity so we can all live together in happiness and peace. I look forward to sharing with you more. From the heart, Steven

Human spiritual enlightenment occurs when your consciousness permanently expands beyond the limits of your body and your mind’s self-created identity. The energetic membranes between the subconscious, conscious and superconscious levels of the mind dissolve. As an enlightened human, you take 100% responsibility for co-creating your personal experience of reality. And you have zero judgment about what others are co-creating. |

Throughout your entire life you have been learning, growing and evolving. Everything you have experienced has been teaching you something about yourself. All the books you have read, courses you have taken and things you have done to develop yourself are the result of an innate intelligence, or spirit, that has been guiding you to further evolve yourself, to realize your full potential, to self-realize.
The volition to read these words comes from your spirit. The answers lie within you, and from this inner knowing you gain the impetus to explore, to understand, to find greater meaning, purpose and peace. So as you are reading these words I invite you to check in with the part of you that is curious to learn more. This path of self-discovery is guiding you to enlightenment. You have been called. You are being guided, and that with draws your attention to these words is guiding you to take that next step in your development. The same volition that compels me to write these words draws your attention to read them. We are all being guided, by spirit, to realize our full potential through self-realization. As you enlighten you come to realize who you are and why you were born so that you may fulfill your destiny. The fact that you are reading these words is the proof that your spirit is guiding you to full enlightenment. The primary reason I am writing these words is to acknowledge that part of you that already knows this innately. We are all being called to enlighten. We live in an age where masses of people, such as yourself, are learning more about what consciousness is and are now consciously seeking ways to further evolve their consciousness. You are ahead of the learning curve of humanity, you have realized that there is something to be realized and are now consciously seeking ways to further evolve yourself. It is your destiny to enlighten. The Self Awareness Institute is a gathering place for those ready to live in the light, to enter the Kingdom of Heaven that lies within us. Welcome home. The Washington Post’s web-site had an editorial today about the conflict (or lack thereof) inherent in being a Christian who practices yoga. Bishop Jakes, from Dallas, put together a straight-forward and competent, albeit bland, dissertation on the topic: As a Christian, yoga is okay if it’s used to bring you closer to God; if it’s used to bring you closer to the Hindu spirituality that traditionally underscores yoga, however, that’s wrong.
Whatever. This view may or may not be of interest to you. What I found fascinating, however, was one of the comments posted beneath the essay. One paragraph in particular amazed me: “For example: my concept of mathamatical principles has been freed from the view of there being absolute truth. This is very liberating, trust me. No one can ever tell me I have a math problem wrong now...that’s their view, but my new truth allows for multiple answers to an equation. It’s really great stuff.” I’d love to harp on the incorrect spelling of mathEmatical, but there’s a bigger issue to consider. You see, the author of this crap kernel is a dangerous idiot. Reality exists. If you doubt this, hit your thumb with a hammer. Did it hurt? You see, reality has laws. You can hate these laws. You can dispute them. But they don’t care. They will still exist whether or not you acknowledge their existence. If you jump off a 20th story balcony, your body will accelerate at 32 feet per second. That’s not an opinion – it’s not open to debate. The writer above can’t arrive at a different answer – say, five feet per second – and land softly on the ground, unharmed. I wonder how this writer would react if he purchased a one dollar apple with a 20 dollar bill and the store clerk only gave him 10 dollars back in change. Can’t you just picture the clerk’s reasoning? “But sir, you can’t tell me I have a math problem wrong – that’s just your view.” What does this have to do with yoga? Plenty. Yoga can be a terrific way to relieve stress, find calm, and exercise your body. It’s hard to dispute that these are positive things. But when yoga becomes spirituality, undisciplined thinking can quickly take hold. For example, some yoga practitioners claim to be able to levitate. This is patently false. People cannot fly. Doubt me? Refer back to the balcony test I outlined above. Often yoga is embraced as part of a larger mish-mash of spirituality and “new age” practices. This may include energy healing, belief in astrology, reincarnation, Eastern mysticism, et cetera. I’m not going to tell you what to believe, nor am I going to argue that any religion is superior to another. But as you encounter the various characters who sometimes gravitate towards this pot pourri of fantasy, I would encourage you to remember the dolt above: reality is not a matter of opinion. Yes, what we think reality contains can sometimes be a matter of opinion. Scientists can disagree about the nature of something, and all the phenomena that exist in reality have not yet been documented. But reality IS, regardless of opinion – it doesn’t change to suit our whims. Gravity doesn’t disappear because you really want it to when you fall off a building. And this is very important: All descriptions of reality are not equal. Some more closely adhere to reality than others, and we can prove that this is the case. A person who says 2 + 2 = 4 has described reality more accurately than a person who says 2 + 2 = 5. The proof? Let’s say there’s a four mile stretch of road that ends in a brick wall. If I say to the first person, “drive two miles, then two miles more, then stop,” that person will drive four miles and safely brake before the brick wall. If I say the same thing to the second person, he’ll still be driving full speed when he hits the brick wall. Don’t believe things because they’re fun to believe, or because belief promises peace, enlightenment or everlasting life. These supposed benefits have absolutely nothing to do with the truth. Truth is independent of our wishes. So greet the claims of all spirituality – traditional, new age, mystical – with skepticism, and begin a true path to enlightenment: adhering more closely to truth and reality, and rejecting childish fantasies. Eric Sparling is a freelance writer; his editorials have appeared in some of Canada’s largest newspapers, such as the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star. He is also a staff writer for http://www.yogainsight.com/ – a website with information about yoga chants, yoga socks and more. |

The path to enlightenment isn't the one most followed by our politicians and leaders. It seems as though every nation has it's answers. One would hope that the church would be of help; however, it seems to be wrapped up in providing answers to questions that no one is asking. Eugene Ionesco put it this way, "It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question." |

One of the objectives of this web site is to prepare those who will to make it to the "backside of December 21, 2012". If an individual feels that talk of 2012 is just another Y2k, there's not a lot that anyone can do. Finding out that those who cried wolf were mistaken is a good thing, not a bad thing. But ignoring the cries and finding them to have been real is not a good thing either. Got the picture? Balance, discernment. |

As I look around me, everywhere I see people giving up on life. I overheard a conversation this morning where one man asked an old acquaintance, that he had clearly not seen in a while, what he was doing with himself these days. To this the other replied that he was not doing much at all other than playing a little golf occasionally. This struck me of a man that sees no future for himself. Of course this is a judgment on my part and one should always be wary of such a tendency, yet I feel as though I hit the mark in this case.
I see examples of this type of thing all the time. It is as though people are programmed by this world to accept the inevitability of old age and death, which of course we are. Think, for example, of the old saying that there are only two certainties in life, namely, death and taxes. The difference between this 'worldly' thinking and the thoughts that arise when one dwells in God are that, in God, one assumes life. Indeed, that is the entire premise of religion, is it not? That one will surely die without God, yet with God one can have everlasting life. In was not without a certain smile that I once read of one man's response to this which went along the lines of "Why on earth would I want everlasting life? Don't you think this one is hard enough?" The Christian Church plays on this everlasting life aspect. It is essentially their sales pitch. I see this now. Yet, the problem is that the bible does not promise this to all believers. In fact it goes so far as to declare that most will actually not be chosen. "Many are called, but few are chosen" Matthew 22:14 The Church does not teach this. It implies that one is guaranteed salvation and eternal life if one simply believes in Jesus, attends church and leads a good life. This is totally incorrect. One of the core messages that Jesus tried to teach was that belief and leading a good life are just not enough. He held up the scribes and the Pharisees as an example: "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:20 The Pharisees were considered, (or considered themselves, at least), to be among the most righteous of all. They were well versed in scripture and held perfectly to the letter of the law. And yet they would not see the kingdom of heaven. How, then do we imagine that things have changed today? We are taught that Jesus' death on the cross has fully atoned us for all our sins, and that this has guaranteed our salvation, if we believe, that is. If this was indeed the case, do you not think that Jesus' message would have been more along the lines of "Hey, don't worry about a thing guys, I'm going to die for all of you so all you need to do is go to church and believe in me and we'll be sorted!" Clearly this is not the case, so what more must we do? While it may well be true that Jesus' death on the cross atoned for our sins, we cannot expect that this automatically ensures our salvation. We must come to know the Christ in each of us. In John 17:3 we are told: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
How do we come to know God? This passage is interpreted by far greater scholars than I as meaning to be at one with God. Therefore we must achieve what is known as Christ Consciousness. This is known by varying names around the world. Some call it enlightenment or nirvana. Jesus quoted Psalms 82:6 when, in John 10:34 he said: "...Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?" Clearly, in our present state, we are not Gods, or at least we do not think we are. We must realize our God nature and become God before we can escape this cycle of life and death. Zen Buddhism teaches that you are Buddha. It is exactly the same as saying "Ye are Gods". How do we achieve this feat, then? By first realizing that we can do nothing of our selves. The self is the anti-Christ, the very antithesis of our true God nature. We have often heard it called the ego. Society has diminished the meaning of this to a large extent. We often think of it in terms of merely just being big-headed. This is erroneous and dangerous. To underestimate the ego, the anti-Christ, is the route of our ailment. It wants nothing less than to continue to rule our earthly lives as it does already. In its effort to accomplish this, it will stop at nothing - even killing us. It knows we do not need it and that we are perfectly capable of existing without it, (though not in the sense you now think of existence). The result is that it hides from us. Remember, that the devils greatest feat was convincing mankind that he does not exist. The vast majority of people are not even aware of its existence and almost all are unaware that the entity, with which they identify themselves, is actually the very thing that would deceive them. We live under mass hypnosis. Spiritual disciplines speak of the awakening process. This is what is meant by this. It is an awakening from the sleep that is our everyday consciousness. It is an awakening to the fact that "Ye are Gods". It is the death of the ego, the anti-Christ within each of us that has taken possession of our lives. Once we come to realize this, we can approach an understanding of the doctrine that we, of our own efforts, can do nothing; for the very reason that 'our' efforts constitute the efforts of the great deceiver. The Churches have this, at least, right. Yet, by attempting thus, we send out a message or a distress call if you will, to the Higher Self that we are ready to begin the process of return. The process can and almost invariable will take many, many lifetimes to achieve and during each we must face many more trials and tests of our commitment along the way. Do not be discouraged, though. For, by the mere fact that you are reading this, the chances are that you are already well advanced in this respect anyway. Those that are will understand of what I speak. They will know already that this is so by the unmistakable leap of your soul in recognition of these words. This will be so even if you have not consciously contemplated these concepts before. We will be guided by our Higher Selves to read the right words, to seek out the right things for our development. Our inner direction shall act as a compass and as we progress along the path, we will gradually learn to heed this more and more. It is our intuition. The truth is that this is the inner guide alerting us to the things that will take us home. This is how we shall achieve unity with the Christ Consciousness. Not by our own efforts, but by the grace of God and by following our inner guide. Jesus came to show us the way. The Church and the State have conspired to pervert this message. When Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6 He did not mean that Christianity is the only religion. He meant that we should become God, achieve unity with our Higher Self. None come to the Father except through unity. In this, do not be further deceived, though. The Church and the State have indeed deceived us, yet their motives were pure, (by and larger, anyway). They truly believed that the things that have been done have been so as to benefit the world. In this they acted nobly, but the problem is they have been guided not by God but by the anti-Christ. Anyone that looks at the history of the Church can plainly see this. It is this that is the challenge we face today. While we must realize our own error and the error of our ways, we must not condemn those that would guide us for their folly, for, had we been in their position, the chances are that we would have made the same mistakes and probably many more also. Around us we may observe the masses turning from the religion of their birth, whatever that may be. In tandem with this, we see people giving up hope of another way. People turn instead to illusory sensory pleasures and carnal vices to numb the pain of everyday existence. There is so much more than this. The journey is not an easy one, but it is the path we must tread to ultimately escape this trap, this earthly life.

Like me, if you are looking for enlightenment-most of you will have missed the boat-it sailed a very long time ago. I retired early in my life-almost seven years ago. Like many I spent much of my life working and raising a family or two. I reached a point at about 50 years old when I decided I had enough. Actually I decided that long before I retired. I knew there had to be something more than what I was doing. Certainly I didn't let any moss grow under my feet. I owned several businesses and worked for a few. My vocations were highly varied, ranging from electronics, to fur trapping, to writing and more. I have several children and have had many lovers and relationships. My life has always been built around people and yet I am very reclusive and absent from friendship circles and social interaction. People who know me don't understand that, thinking just the opposite-when it's business-I'm right in there. Most of this reclusive ness is self imposed. I have a really poor memory when it comes to names. I won't remember you name ten seconds after you tell me. So, because I have forgotten your name, I will try to avoid you if I see you. I am not sure if I am reclusive because of this or I am forgetful because I want to be reclusive. This alienation from people has helped me in the last seven years to give much attention to my reading and writing. I am still working part time as a sales person, so I am in contact with people 4 hours a day. I have rationalized my introverted life even further by acknowledging I don't like soap operas, drama, and gossip. I find conversations with others filled with much of this stuff. I do not want to always be serious either-I think we all take ourselves too seriously. But conversations don't have to be judgmental, disempowering, or about personalities. I have devoted the last sever years to finding enlightenment. It's what I have written about in the hundreds of articles I have on the internet and in my published books. My searching ended some time ago when I realized I was chasing my tail, yet I continue to write and I have another book coming out this year (hopefully). I have moved away past my next book already, and have just completed proofing it; I have considered not publishing it because of this. I also reminded myself, although the book is about my journey, others will benefit from it as they have the first one. Every one of my articles or books represents another step along my path to enlightenment, and yet all those steps keep bringing me back to where I started and where I am now. I have not really traveled anywhere. Enlightenment is the process, the path-we are all enlightened creatures. Enlightenment is not a place or the end of the trip. It is not possible to find it because it does not exist. Enlightenment comes to those who know they are already enlightened. It is the present moment of which you are aware of that is real. You do not live in the past, nor can you live in the future-there is only now--enlightenment is only now. The universe is constantly moving and so does enlightenment. It is as though chasing your shadow-every time you move, so does your shadow. One can only spend their time looking for enlightenment and it is something we do, because we can-it is a vocation with no diploma or degree. You will not find the gold at the end of the enlightened rainbow. It is no different than spending a life-time driving a cab, healing people, or building skyscrapers-it's just a job. Trying to figure out who we are brings opportunities for exploration and exploitation-denying the obvious keeps us looking. All kinds of institutions and beliefs revolve around the misplaced conception that we are not really who we are. Many people will take advantage of this belief and make money off your ignorance. Life is all there is-it is this moment and your circumstances-this is enlightenment. Every question I have asked, always leads to another question, and another, and the answer always leads back to me. The mystery of life is created by you-therefore the answers to the mystery you have created always lie with you. You are creating the questions and the answers. It is your nature to create, and then ask yourself why you did it. The answer always leads back to the question-we do it because we can. As in the innocence of a small child, the answer is simple-I did it because! At that point we want to know what "because" is, and we make the whole thing too complicated. It is not easy, and for most impossible to accept the obvious-you are already enlightened! |

The road to enlightenment is rather difficult to follow, which seems to be especially true for politicians and leaders. One has the impression that every nation and every human being has its or his own answers to this problem. Some people think that it is the church who must give a helping hand in the question of enlightenment. But sometimes it seems to pose more questions than it is capable of answering. |

A single Shakyamuni Buddha, a Lord Jesus Christ, a Saint Mahavira, a Lord Krishna, a Mahayogi Pantanjali, a Guru Nanak have a massive lasting impact on the whole of humanity, so tell me something, if there was a school, institute, program or person with a short cut solution for pumping out enlightened folks by the dozens would not humanity be in better shape than it is? Would not the message of love and peace spread and penetrate society at least to a larger extent than today, where it seems to be almost non-existent? |

Modern Yoga has taken on a new connotation devoid of any spiritualist with the asanas or postures of hatha yoga included in fitness regimen. This has essentially led to many self designed types of yoga and is a lucrative business. Yoga essentially means enlightenment and is central to Hinduism and offshoots of Hinduism. Modern Yoga practice has inherited a few elements from this ancient tradition. Breathing exercise (pranayama) and meditation is the most popular of these. Yoga has a unique ability to relax a person and this is adopted by persons who do not look for enlightenment but for its utility to health of mind and body The goals of Yoga are expressed differently by different traditions. The goals of modernism are relaxation and distressing of a person. With this in mind we have a number of tailored programs Yoga for beginners, Yoga for Women , Enlightenment-and-better-health/”http://yogamiracles.com/yoga-articles/yoga-for-kids.htm” target=_blank>Yoga for Children , Yoga for heart, etc. are the advertisements you would see to entice people to join a yoga fitness center. The common form of Yoga is the practice of concentration. The focus of meditation is different from school to school. Heart (anahata), or third eye (aina) are major points of focus, meditation on peace or Deities is another form. Hatha yoga was invented as purification so that meditation can be done with ease. Physical purification, Moral Discipline, and meditation are the basics of yoga. There is a far wider reality which often gets forgotten in modern fitness practices. It is sorry to see that instead of holism practiced another view of yoga is propagated. Blinding the horse to see only in one direction is what the market forces have done to Yoga. Enlightenment is left far behind in our globalization and commercialization. Hatha yoga is only viewed for its health benefits and not for its enlightenment. Health Benefits • It is believed to calm the nervous system. • It helps to balance the body, mind, and spirit • It follows the same principles as life energy and helps prevents specific diseases. • It is used to reduce blood pressure and stress • It improves sleep, coordination, flexibility, concentration and digestion. • Alternative remedies suggest it as a therapy for cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, asthma and Irritable Bowel Syndrome • It is helps in treatment of spinal problems and chronic back pain. Yoga as a healing alternative is now the most popular form and very few look towards yoga as a means toward enlightenment. |

We are Al Link and Pala Copeland. We have been practicing Tantric sacred sexuality since 1987 and teaching since 1997. Al had the enlightenment experience in January 2008 and within minutes made a direct transmission to Pala. This came after almost 40 years of spiritual seeking (Al) and over 20 years of following the Tantric spiritual path (Al and Pala together). Our mission is to help couples learn how to create love for a lifetime together, by instructing them in the arts of Tantra sacred sexuality, using their relationship as a spiritual practice. We refer to our unique spiritual path as Enlightenment for TwoTM.
We have demonstrated that sacred sexuality can be a path to enlightenment, but not in the usual sense of cause and effect. Tantra sacred sexuality does not cause enlightenment, but it can lead directly to the illumination experience returning you to the enlightened state. Without any question Enlightenment for TwoTM is attainable by ordinary people (Pala and I are ordinary people), and the practices leading to it include Tantric sacred sexuality. Enlightenment means “to light within.” You could not possibly find enlightenment any other place but within yourself—enlightenment is simply remembering who you really are, the realization of your high Self. Trying to remember who you really are is your spiritual practice (whatever form that takes), and actually remembering who you really are is enlightenment. The moment of enlightenment is illumination—the absolute brightness of being. The light does not come in from outside of yourself. Light shines within you—you are light (consciousness, love). “...the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21) Remembering who you really are is a radical shift from “aware of” with senses, emotion and thought (a state of separation between the small self and the other—everything outside of your bag of skin), to “I AM.” I AM is “Knowledge Through Identity” as described by Franklin Merrill Wolfe. “I AM” is “THAT” which you are without beginning or end. In this illuminated awareness, all that you perceive, feel and think is not other than yourself, not something your separate self becomes aware of, but rather all that you perceive, feel and think is your high Self revealing itself to you.Meditating on this underlined sentence, and “getting it” is all that is needed to initiate the illumination opening to full enlightenment. Spiritual practice does not cause enlightenment, although most typically enlightenment does follow after sustained spiritual practice, but this is not in any way the usual cause and effect. It is more like, the rooster crows and then the sun comes up. In fact nothing can cause enlightenment; there is no way to enlightenment. Enlightenment is the way, all ways, always. Enlightenment is everything. Enlightenment IS. Any spiritual practice undertaken with love, humility, gratitude, intense desire and faith can cause the illumination. The illumination is the act of remembering who you really are, returning you to your enlightened state. The enlightened state is not brought into existence for the first time by this illumination, rather it is as if a veil is lifted and you are home, where you always were and always will be. You know yourself to be what you always were, but had forgotten. Spiritual practice is most effective when it is a celebration with humility and gratitude to the possibility (held in consciousness as an act of faith) of God-consciousness. The lower cannot command the higher. Nevertheless, it is important, and for most a necessity, to select a spiritual practice, any spiritual practice, and follow that path with heart (don Juan’s instruction in Carlos Castaneda’s books). A spiritual practice is only a method by which the lower self is assisted to remember the higher Self.A spiritual practice is anything that helps you remember who you really are. You don’t realize enlightenment by escaping your life, but by living it fully. Your entire life becomes your spiritual path, and every action in your life becomes a prayer, a meditation, and a spiritual practice. In essence this is the Tantric spiritual path. You use your body as a vehicle for spiritual awakening. You do not try to deny your body or escape from it as if it were a prison. Enlightenment for TwoTM, our Tantra spiritual path, is not difficult. In fact it may well be the simplest, most direct route leading to the moment of illumination available to human beings on the planet today. Al Link and Pala Copeland have been practicing Tantric sacred sexuality since 1987 and teaching since 1997. They are the Selfgrowth.com Official Guides to Tantra. They are authors of 4 published books. Teaching, writing and speaking about spiritual relationships and sacred sexuality is what they do full time. Once in a rare while a man is born who changes the world for the better and Buddha quotes are a prime example of why Buddha was one of these men. As the founder of Buddhism and one of the few truly enlightened people to ever walk the face of the earth, let's celebrate the upcoming birthday of this legendary teacher. 1. "A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. A man is not considered a good man because he is a good talker." 2. "All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become." 3. "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." 4. "Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without." 5. "However many holy words you read,However many you speak,What good will they do you If you do not act on upon them?" 6. "The tongue like a sharp knife... Kills without drawing blood." 7. "There has to be evil so that good can prove its purity above it." 8. "A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another the home will be as beautiful as a flower garden. But if these minds get out of harmony with one another it is like a storm that plays havoc with the garden." 9. "You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger." 10. "You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." 11. "When words are both true and kind, they can change our world." 12. "Neither fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds." 13. "It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell." 14. "He is able who thinks he is able." I, personally, am not a Buddhist -- but even I can appreciate the wisdom, enlightenment and uniqueness of this very special man. He definitely left his mark on humanity and made the world a better place. If the leaders of our world were more like Buddha, wouldn't this world be a better place? Let's reflect on this with these 14 Buddha quotes as we remember him on his birthday this month. |

I am a nurse with a prayer: that other nurses and healers learn how to love and heal themselves. This is a process that can be thoroughly enjoyed as nurses and other healers learn to closely watch their thoughts, which is the key to enlightenment and transformation. Only as I heal can healing occur in my sphere of influence--which encompasses the entire planet!! Ho'oponopono is an ongoing process of cleaning and erasing shared memories that cause pain and anguish. It's an ancient Hawaiian healing practice which recently has gained recognition. We silently chant: I love you, Thank you, Please forgive me, I am sorry as we direct these phrases to divinity as we understand Divinity to be for ourselves. When judgments arise, we concentrate the phrases on the judgments. And even before the judgments arise, we ceaselessly say the phrases inwardly as an inner mantra. We may notice that fewer judgments arise. Someone on my Ho'oponopono forum at Powerful intentions mentioned The Work by Byron Katie as an adjunct to doing Ho'oponopono. I bought Byron Katie's first book "Loving What Is" in 2002 because of the magnetic feeling her picture radiated on the cover. At the time, I did not actually study The Work in any great detail for a variety of reasons. Now, The Work in action is displayed on Byron Katie's website, through a series of excellent videos. One thing I learned as a complete revelation, after viewing the videos on her website, was that a judgment is not always obvious. A judgment acts hypnotically to trick you into thinking that your thought, which bring you misery, is the truth. Forinstance, a person who states: "I want my cancer to stop growing" appears to be making a perfectly legitimate request. Ofcourse. If I had cancer, I would want my cancer to stop growing, too, and so would most everyone else. But only at first glance. Byron Katie uses the following Inquiry to get to the heart of every thought and judgment that is causing mental pain: 1) Is it true? 2) Can you absolutely know that it is true? 3) How do you react when you think that thought? 4) Who would you be without that thought? 5) Turn it around. The following is a transcript of the session entitled: I Want My Cancer To Stop Growing: Byron Katie: Is it true that you want the cancer to stop growing? Response: (after some time) Yes. BK: So you want the cancer to stop growing. We're looking at stressful reactions, here. How do you react when you say to yourself that you want your cancer to stop growing and it continues to grow? Response: I have panic reactions. BK: Give me a sress free reason to keep the thought--I want the cancer to stop growing. Response: (after some time) I'm sorry, I can't think of one. BK: There isn't one. So I want the cancer to stop growing. Who would you be without that thought? Response: I would be ordinary, in my own life, just the way it is. BK: There's 2 ways to live your life. One is stressed out and the other isn't. Either way, you are living it. So, I want the cancer to stop growing? Turn it around---What's the opposite? Response: I don't want my cancer to stop growing. BK: Give me an example of how that would be true? Response: (after some time) My cancer has opened doors I could never open on my own or I would not have easily opened. BK: That's one. Give me another. Response: Because it has opened my heart. BK: That's 2 now give me another. Response: Because I am so much more alive than I was a year ago. (Clapping). BK: You've found three, you can find four. Loving what is isn't kind of liking or sort of appreciating, it is good, it is loving it all. It's really exciting and I'm inviting you--Just one more! Response: I've found 2 more. BK: I'm right there with you. Response: I don't want my cancer to stop growing because I can be more of who I am, and can be of service to others. BK: Did you consider that one or two? Response: It's a mix. BK: Ok! One more!! Response: (crying) I don't want my cancer to stop growing because I want to be the world's greatest lover for my wife. BK: There's more. Just meditate and sit with it. More will come. My own insight: (I don't want myself to stop growing). Byron Katie's work can be applied to any thought we sense is holding us back. The Work of Inquiry, as so beautifully given to us by Byron Katie, is a way to expose those tricky judgments and beliefs that imprison our minds. Add to this Ho'oponopono and we have a powerful duo of monumental proportion. Don't leave home without them. |

Some believe that religion is all hokey. Some do not join a religion because they do not want to be told what they can and cannot do, while others do not believe that there is truly some divine being up there pulling all the strings. Buddhism is neither of these. Buddhism is a guidebook to life. You do not have to follow the rules, but if you do, you will find yourself understanding who you truly are, which means you can attain true enlightenment. |

If you are not actually interested in losing what you believe yourself to be because of your hoping to gain something called "enlightenment" to add to the repertoire of your belief, you will be able to continue pretending to be what is not actually true of you while thinking that you are on the road to finding your self. |
