Being depressed is another way of saying that you feel miserable. For most of us feelings like this vanish after a little while. There are some people however who can’t shake their depression and it lingers for months on end. What then are the depression causes? There is no real answer but there are several possibilities. With each of these, the causes in themselves may trigger depression or a combination of these may be the reason why depression can occur. Some of the possibilities include physiology. Here the cause is a biochemical imbalance in the brain. When certain types of chemicals like neurotransmitters become low, the nerve endings become messed up and depression can set in. Stress is considered as another reason contributing towards depression causes. The many demands made of our lives by our busy lifestyles can cause stress. When these factors begin to overwhelm us, we lose our elasticity to cope and deal with them. With the loss of this resiliency against stress it is very easy to slide into depression. Learning or behavioral patterns are other reasons for depression causes. With the facts of this cause it is thought that you learn to become depressed. In this possibility the depression learning process comes from your environment. How you perceive your family environment conditions you to becoming depressed in the future. Another depression cause can be considered as thinking. This cause is one of the main reasons for depression causes. In this possibility you create an imaginary problem. To this problem you add other imaginary problems and increase the problem. By the time you have finished thinking about the very large and worrisome problem, it has become much worse than it really is. The worry of this imaginary problem has caused you to become depressed over nothing. In all of these possibilities it is the thinking process that provides the catalyst for all of the depression causes. Various aspects of the problems become intensified with all of these depression causes. So by brooding on the worst aspects of your life it becomes very easy to become depressed. Therefore if your life feels like it is becoming too much for you or if a problem in your life has caused you to become depressed for quite a while, the chances are that you will need to evaluate your life and find out what are the depression causes in your life. Hopefully by knowing what causes depression we have a chance to stop depression from ruling our lives. |

DIABETES CAUSES Since there are different types of diabetes, each type has a unique possible cause. The main two causes of diabetes is the body’s failure to produce enough of the insulin hormone, and secondly the body develops a resistance to insulin. · Type 1 diabetes is due to decreased insulin production. · Type 2 is due to insulin resistance in peripheral tissues. · In juvenile diabetes, the cause might probably be a lack of vitamin D. There is also gestational diabetes that only occurs in pregnant women. Causes of diabetes - Diabetes mellitus occurs when the pancreas does not create sufficient or any of the hormone insulin, or when the insulin produced does not work efficiently. Thus, this causes the level of glucose in the blood to be higher than normal levels 1. In Type 1 diabetes, the cells in the pancreas that make insulin are attacked and destroyed by the body’s own immune system, causing a severe lack of insulin. It is not clear why this happens, but possible triggers of this reaction could be - · infection with a specific virus or bacteria; · exposure to food-borne chemical toxins or · exposure to cow's milk when as an infant, where as a yet unidentified component of the milk triggers an autoimmune reaction in the body. However, these are only assumption, and are yet to be proven. Type 1 diabetes usually develops in children, teenagers or young adults. Scientists believe this is a genetically caused condition and is not related to lifestyle habits. Risk factors for developing type - 1diabetes include: 1. Family history - a child that has a parent or sibling with type 1 diabetes has a 2-6% chance of developing the disease. 2. Autoimmune disorders - such as thyroid disease and celiac disease, raises the risk of type 1 diabetes. 3. Early stoppage of breastfeeding and/or exposure to cow’s milk - breastfeeding an infant for at least three months decreases the risk of type 1 diabetes. Some studies also show that exposure to cow’s milk or cow’s milk-based formula before one year of age may increase diabetes risk. 4. Ethnicity - Americans, Caucasians have a greater risk of type 1 diabetes as compared to African-Americans, Asian Americans, Latin Americans. 5. History of childhood virus diseases 2. Type 2 diabetes is believed to develop when: · the receptors on the human cells in the body that respond to the action of insulin fall short of being stimulated by it - known as insulin resistance. In reaction to this, more insulin may be produced, and this over-production exhausts the insulin-manufacturing cells in the pancreas; · there is just insufficient insulin available in the body and · the insulin that is available may be abnormal and therefore doesn't function properly. The following risk factors increase the chances of one developing Type 2 diabetes: · increasing age · if it runs in the family, ie. hereditary · obesity · high blood pressure · diet which is high in fat and low in dietary fibre · sedentary lifestyle with no or very less physical activity. · certain medicines such as diurectics, which increase the amount of water flowing into the urine. Corticosteroids can also lead to diabetes because they work against the action of insulin. · gestational diabetes · any illness or disease that damages the pancreas and affects its ability to produce insulin e.g. pancreatitis. (inflammation of the pancreas) and thyrotoxicosis (a poisonous condition that results from an overactive thyroid gland). · hormone treatments, such as growth hormone, thyroid hormone and adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH). What does not cause diabetes? It is also important to be aware of the different myths that have arisen about the causes of diabetes over time. Eating sweets, excess sugar or the wrong kind of food (fried and fatty food) does not cause diabetes. However, this type of a diet may cause obesity, and overweight people are generally prone to developing Type 2 diabetes. So, its not the food, but the effect of food that may cause diabetes. So, if you love eating and are a foodoholic, make sure to burn out the extra calories that go on to make the flab. Stress does not cause diabetes, although it may be a trigger for the body turning on itself as in the case of Type 1 diabetes. Stress, however does definitely make the symptoms worse for those who already have diabetes. People with diabetes should never eat sugar and sweets. Sugar and sweets do raise the blood glucose, but people with diabetes can safely eat sugar as part of their meal plan. People with diabetes should eat a special diabetes diet. This is a false notion. One has to eat regulated, along with a balanced diet. Diabetes is not contagious. Someone with diabetes cannot transmit it on to anyone else. |

What happens is that the antibiotics fight off disease-causing bacteria. However, in the process, they can also destroy bacteria in the vaginal area that can result in the growth of too much yeast, hence a yeast infection. Diabetes in women is another indirect means of yeast infection occurrences. What happens is that uncontrolled diabetes can often impair the body’ immune system sop that it loses the ability to fight infections effectively. That plus high blood sugar levels can increase the sugar level in the vagina as well, resulting in yeast growth. And other top reasons, not all, but some are due to certain lifestyle behaviors. For example, the following can result in yeast infections for women: - Wearing too tight of clothing from the waste down like tight fitting jeans) - Using a douche - Not wearing cotton under garments (nylon or synthetic panties, for example, can be bad) - Wearing a wet swimming suit for too long - Wiping with toilet paper from rear to front, bring harmful bacteria to the vaginal area. Some Symptoms There are a variety of symptoms of yeast infections. They can include any number of the following: - Odor - Itching - Irritation or soreness - Pain with sexual intercourse - Vaginal discharge (white / yellowish like cottage cheese) - Burning during urination - Rash or redness There’s still so much more information to share with you about yeast infections and how to cure them naturally. Afollicle refers to a crust or cavity from which the hair emerges on the surface of the skin. The term folliculitis is used to describe the inflamed condition of the hair. Depending upon the causal organism, folliculitis causes can be characterized as follows: Bacterial Folliculitis Fungal Folliculitis Viral Folliculitis Parasitic Folliculitis Bacterial folliculitis Bacterial folliculitis develops when bacteria enters the body through a cut, scrape, surgical incision, or multiplies in the skin near a hair follicle. The bacteria can get trapped and the infection may spread from the hair follicles to the other parts of the body. Bacterial folliculitis may be superficial or deep. Superficial folliculitis, also called impetigo, consists of pustules which are small-circumscribed elevations of the skin containing pus. The pustules are often surrounded by a ring of redness. Deep folliculitis results when the infection goes deeper and involves more follicles to produce furuncles and carbuncles. These are more serious than folliculitis and can cause permanent damage and scarring to the skin. Bacterial folliculitis usually occurs in children and adults. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common of bacterial folliculitis causes. It also causes sycosis, a deep chronic infection that involves the entire hair follicle. Some superficial follicle infections spontaneously resolve themselves. However, bacterial infections like impetigo, furuncles, carbuncles and hot tub folliculitis may not resolve spontaneously and generally require prescription therapy. All these infections are typically diagnosed by clinical presentation, after which predisposing factors are identified and eliminated. Fungal folliculitis As the name suggests fungal folliculitis is caused due to fungal infections. Superficial fungal infections are found in the top layers of the skin; deep fungal infections invade deeper layers of the skin. The infection from hair follicles can also spread to blood or internal organs. The dermatophytic fungus, pityrosporum fungus and the yeast candida folliculitis are the prominent among the fungal folliculitis causes. Dermatophytic folliculitis is caused most often by a zoophilic species, i.e. fungal species that show attraction to or affinity for animals. The condition presents as follicular pustules around a hardened erythematous (reddened) plaque. A deep fungal penetration causes a high degree of inflammation and determines the extent of hair shaft loss that occurs due to the infection. Tinea capitis or ringworm of the head is the most important form of pediatric dermatophytic folliculitis. The clinical features of tinea capitis vary considerably depending on the species responsible for the infection. Typically, there is partial alopecia with a varying amount of inflammation. In the non-inflammatory variants, asymmetrical lesions with short broken hair, 1 to 3 mm in length, are observed. Slight inflammation with scaling may be observed on careful inspection. Tinea barbae is a superficial dermatophytic infection that is limited to the bearded areas of the face and neck and occurs almost exclusively in older adolescent and adult males. The clinical presentation of tinea barbae includes deep folliculitis, red inflammatory papules and pustules with exudation, crusting and associated hair shaft loss. The two main species causing the infection are T. mentagrophytes and T. verrucosum. Pityrosporum folliculitis is caused by pityrosporum yeasts resulting in an itchy eruption. The lesions are reddish follicular papules and pustules located mainly on the upper back, shoulders and chest. Viral folliculitis Viral folliculitis involves a variety of viral infections of the hair follicle. Infection by the herpes simple virus (HSV) often progress to form pustular or ulcerated lesions, and eventually a crust. Infection caused by molluscum contagiosum indicates an immuneosuppressed state which manifests as multiple whitish, itchy papules over the beard area. There are also some reports of folliculitis caused by herpes zoster infection. Parasitic folliculitis Parasites causing folliculitis are usually small pathogens that burrow into the hair follicle to live there or lay their eggs. Mites such as demodex folliculorum and demodex brevis are natural hosts of the human pilo-sebaceous follicle. |

Rosacea is a skin problem that is caused by progressive vascular disorders. It begins as a mild flush across the nose, the cheeks, the chin, the forehead and sometimes on the chest and back. As the disease continues to progress, more intense symptoms start to occur. Its three progressive stages involve different symptoms at different intensities. The risk of developing rosacea is growing. More and more people are registered with this problem all over the world. On each continent a high number of persons notice its symptoms. No treatment for curing rosacea is available, but doctors can easily prescribe medicines that might help to ease the symptoms or to prevent complications. Even if it is a common skin disorder, rosacea is misunderstood and misdiagnosed. Rosacea was confused with acne during the past years. Nowadays rosacea is considered a distinct medical condition that requires early diagnosis and proper treatment. As we said before this health problem develops gradually. In the first phase the patients may not realize that they are developing rosacea because of the mild symptoms that may be confused with the symptoms caused by sunburn or windburn. Anyway, it is good to recognize rosacea in its early stage because, otherwise, it may lead to complications such as disfigurement and possible vision loss. There is no test to help realize if it is rosacea or not but the appearance and other factors such as typical target population and response to various therapies make accurate diagnosis possible. Even if it is incurable, rosacea progress might be controlled and even stopped with the help of medical therapy. Many studies were done in order to find out more about this chronic and progressive skin problem. A Swedish study showed that 14 % of women and 5 % of men are prone to develop rosacea. A proved fact is the American study that encountered a number of 13 million patients in the United States. This means that about 1 out of 20 Americans developed rosacea. The statistics proved that fair-skinned people from the northern Europe are more prone to develop rosacea. A number of 10 million British people that have rosacea prove the statistic conclusion. As potential causes, specialists say that therapies for Helicobacter pylori in peptic ulcer disease may be associated with an improvement in rosacea symptoms. Demodex folliculorum has also been considered as a contributing factor to rosacea. The cause of rosacea is unknown but it is believed to be other than vascular origin because of a clinical association with flushing, development of telangiectasia and tissue swelling, and ultimately, tissue proliferation and rhinophyma. |

Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease, caused by a virus which belongs to the herpes family. This virus is known as varicella-zoster virus and also as the Herpes Zoster virus. Not only chickenpox is produced by it but shingles is too. Chickenpox occurs mostly during the end of the winter and the beginning of the spring. It generally affects children aged from 2 to 8 and can take the form of epidemics. If an infected person coughs or sneezes, the virus will be spread in the air and will be caught by other healthy persons while breathing. The virus is known to be present in the body long before the skin rash appears; this is the reason why there are so many cases of contamination. After the virus got into your body it generally needs two weeks to develop and only then the rash will appear. But this does not mean that you are not contagious within these two weeks. The symptoms of chickenpox are: fever, itchy, red bumps that transform into round blisters with a red base. These blisters will form a crust and will eventually dry. For at least 5 days the infected person should not get into close contact with people that have not suffered from chickenpox and children should not go to school because they can infect others. Pregnant women who have made chickenpox before are safe and so is their baby. If she has not made chickenpox and got in contact with an infected person, the doctor can administer antibodies of chickenpox within 4 days of a possible contamination. After the dry scabs form the rate of contamination will decrease. After the disease had terminated the virus will not disappear completely, it will shed inside the nervous cells and will remain inactive for some years. At some point, when the immune system will work improperly the virus will reactivate and will cause shingles. This is a painful disease that affects the face and trunk nerves and also causes a rash to appear. The chickenpox infected person will also be prohibited from flying because the air conditioner in airplanes will transmit the virus more easily to other passengers. The virus is dangerous for those who have AIDS, cancer or follow a treatment with immunosuppressive drugs. Only those who have a good immune system response and those who have been vaccinated against chickenpox will not develop the disease. |

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory disease, which affects 14 million Americans and is also known as acne rosacea. Some of the signs are: redness of the face skin, visible damaged blood vessels on the nose and cheeks, bumps and pimples. The inflammation of the eyelids and sore eyes can also be caused by rosacea. Food does not lead to rosacea but it can make the redness of the skin worse. There are some foods to be avoided, like spices (paprika and all kinds of pepper) that release histamine and niacin, causing facial flushing. Some people say that even avocado, tomatoes, eggplant, chocolate, cheese and spinach could cause flush but these facts have not been scientifically proved. Some people worry that if they practice exercises their disease will aggravate. The fact is that when exercising the face skin blushes more but after the exercises are done, the skin gets back to the way it was before. Exercises are good for you if they are done in a cool environment for repeated short periods. When finishing the exercises it is indicated that you get hydrated. Some people get affected by rosacea in a severe way. This does not mean that all people who have rosacea will end up like that, if following the treatment and changing its lifestyle. Rosacea can not be cured but its effects can be corrected with repeated laser therapy and good early therapy. Scientists do not know exactly what produces rosacea, they suspect a vascular cause and the Helicobacter Pilory, a bacterium that lives in the stomach and is responsible for ulcer. It is possible that by following a treatment with antibiotic drugs, rosacea will disappear, but this is not well studied yet. Using for a long time cortisone creams can produce rosacea but it generally disappears after a while. Other drugs that can lead to rosacea are: vaso-dilating drugs and some cholesterol lowering agents. People should use a face cleanser that does not contain soap, oil and any fragrance. This cleanser will act gently upon the skin and will not influence its natural Ph balance. Avoid using astringent cleansers and aftershaves. Because the skin affected of rosacea is very dry, you should avoid using brushes or rough towels to rub your face skin. Also, when going out in the cold cover your cheeks and nose with a scarf. Sunscreen is benefic for you because the sun might damage even more your sensitive skin. It is recommended to apply on all your sun exposed parts of the body a moisturizer with a sunscreen, minimum of SPF15 even winter, not only in summer. |

Corn for ethanol is the prime crop for biofuel in the U.S., where generation for the industry has recently overtaken the production and this in the land where just about all the products in the supermarket shelves have corn syrup! In Europe the most commonly used crop is rapeseed (one variety of which is canola), which is the source of four-fifths of biofuel production. The situation which we are facing though is that the supposed advantages of biofuels are in serious question, even more than had been thought hitherto . Scientists now say that the biofuels "can cause as much or more to global warming by N2O [nitrous oxide] emissions than fossil fuel We can only hope that whoever is responsible for deciding on allocations of subsidies and establishment of regulations will henceforth take N2O emissions into account. Dr. Dave Reay, on the academic staff of the University of Edinburgh, used the current reports to calculate that with the U.S. Senate aiming to increase corn-ethanol production sevenfold in the next 15 years, greenhouse-gas emissions will increase by 6 percent. If you are unindoctrinated, WATER4GAS is providing information for a fee which individuals can use in their garage or wherever to create a small gizmo which instills hydrogen into the gasoline/air mixture that their automobile runs on. The process makes smaller particles out of the ones that the system burns as fuel. Because of the smaller size the engine gets to use considerably more of the fuel. With WATER4GAS you can minimumly expect to improve your MPG by 12%. In reality though many are obtaining thirty to fifty percent improvement or significantly more. Those goblets must have been pretty "blankin'" big in some systems before. But with WATER4GAS they are made usable so you can improve your MPG. It also helps reduce emissions significantly. This information has been purchased by over 9000 people already and happy members number about 99%! So that's a start! |

The root causes of dermatitis are not well understood and are still the focus of active research. It is demonstrated in the current research that it comes about as a result of interaction between the environment, our immune system, and genetics. The immune systems of the people with this condition are hyper sensitive and they are more prone to respond to various irritants and allergens. Many who suffer from dermatitis have a number of relatives with allergic conditions. A genetic predisposition can be aggravated by factors such as infections, food allergies, temperature, irritating chemicals, stress and humidity. In response to extreme temperature and humidity, dermatitis tends to flare-up. Excessive sweating and psychological stress are also sources of dermatitis break-outs. Other causes of dermatitis are irritations. It seems to have the capacity to change the epidermal structure by allowing immunoglobulin E activity to heighten. Once an individual is no longer exposed to an allergen or even after it has been completely controlled, the chronic skin irritation will consequently continue. Causes of Dermatitis Unknown Since the main causes of dermatitis remain elusive, several theories try to elucidate its epidemiology. Causes of dermatitis probably represent more than one condition. Underlying biochemical and metabolic factors indicate that induced skin disorder is genetically associated with elevated serum immunoglobulin E levels and is one main theory regarding the causes of dermatitis while malformed T-cell function is another theory. Triggers of dermatitis may involve a number of health conditions, genetic factors, allergies, and irritants, mental and physical stresses. Working under wet conditions is one of the primary causes of dermatitis. Direct contact with one of many irritants or allergens results to contact dermatitis. Different substances may cause dermatitis to form in different people and allergic reactions are genetically determined. Burns and sunburns can also increase the risk of developing dermatitis. The process and causes of dermatitis are considerably clearer these days, although little is known about what makes people vulnerable to allergic dermatitis. The 3 Primary Varieties of Dermatitis The three main varieties of dermatitis are atopic, contact allergy and contact irritant. These all have different triggers, although many are similar. Atopic dermatitis is thought to be a genetic disorder associated with environmental factors. Unfortunately, little is known what makes people vulnerable to allergic dermatitis. When a highly reactive chemical material comes into direct contact with the skin, allergic contact dermatitis occurs. Nummular dermatitis is something that occurs in cold weather and is typical among people with dry skin. The root causes behind these are still unknown. |

What causes Autism is something every doctor hears when they tell a parent their child is Autistic. There is not one definite answer to this question. There are several thoughts on what causes Autism. Some of the causes of Autism are thought to be genetic. Doctors think there are several genes that cause Autism, but have yet to locate them. They now feel that some people are born with the predisposition to be Autistic. Then they have some type of environmental trigger and they become Autistic.Autism is more common in boys that girls. Some studies show a connection to environmental factors and Autism. They think that the pollution and toxins in the air can contribute to a child having Autism. Studies have shown small towns with high cases of Autism. The towns had one thing in common, a high pollution source. Usually the source is a factory of some sort that release a lot of toxins, and chemicals into the air.A majority of people believe Autism was caused by the Mercury, or Thimersal in vaccinations. This was due to the fact that Autism was first diagnosed about the same time as vaccinations were given. There has been a lot of studies an research about vaccines causing a child to become Autistic. So far there has been no evidence to suggest the connection between vaccinating your child and Autism. There could be more risks from not having the vaccinations. Some studies have shown children being exposed to high levels of Mercury were more likely to have Autism. This was a fear with the vaccinations, but the majority of shots these days do not contain any mercury or Thimersal. If they do contain Thimersal it is in very trace amounts. High levels of Mercury can be contributed to eating a lot of fish, and industrial emissions. Researchers think there could be a connection to pregnant women being exposed to Mercury and their children having Autism. There are new studies testing pregnant women to see how much Mercury is in their systems and testing the babies at birth. They can then monitor the babies with high Mercury levels and see if they have any problems later on.There are theories that Autism is caused from an underlying health issue. Certain diseases make a child more likely to develop Autism. Some of these diseases include Fragile X syndrome, and congenital Rubella. Others believe Autism is caused by a metabolic imbalance. It used to be thought that Autism was caused from an early emotional trauma. They also thought bad parenting was to blame. Doctors tried to blame mothers for not giving their children enough attention and love. These theories have been found untrue. Much more research is needed to identify the true cause or causes of Autism. Until a definite answer is found no one will know what cause a child to be Autistic. These theories are all just that, theories. Someday hopefully doctors will understand what causes a child to be Autistic, and they can work on a way to prevent, or cure it. |

Whenever you think about the disease arthritis, an image of an elderly or injured person might come to mind. However, arthritis is a disease that transcends people of all age, sex, ethnicity, and ability. Some risk factors are preventable, while others are not. However, knowing what causes arthritis and how susceptible you are will keep you on the look out for arthritis signs and symptoms, meaning earlier diagnosis and treatment of the terrible condition. One of the main risk factors for developing arthritis is age. Usually, arthritis begins to affect people after the age of forty. Another risk factor for developing arthritis is gender. To the Surprise of many people, arthritis affects more women than men. Furthermore, women are more likely than men to develop various types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis can begin in women as young as thirty. One of the major causes of arthritis is obesity. The more obese a person is, the higher their chances are of developing arthritis, particularly in the knees. Excess weight increases the amount of pressure on the joints, which in turn causes cartilage to deteriorate even faster than it might otherwise. Have you ever heard someone complain about an old injury flaring up? Well, they might not be far off. Past severe injuries, such as those from accidents, can lead to an increased risk of developing arthritis in that particular area. For example, an old knee injury could lead to the development of arthritis in the knee. Ethnicity and genetics also can increase the risk of developing arthritis. Although more research needs to be done regarding this. Knowing what causes arthritis can be helpful in determining how at risk you are for developing arthritis. In order to determine your risk factor, you should examine your family history, past injuries, age, gender, and weight. Based on these factors, you might consider seeing a doctor yearly to check for the development of arthritis. In some cases, the causes of certain types of arthritis aren t known. However, researchers have come very far in figuring out what causes arthritis. Future research might lead to better diagnosis and treatment of the disease. I would like to cover every aspect of this topic. In order to keep things short I have only included the major topics detailed as good as possible. Eczema is not caused by any particular reason, but it is by and large reasoned as allergic disease and may also be named as atopic eczema. It is connected with asthma and hay fever. If any of the family members is suffering from this disease then others will also be contaminated and may cause eczema or any of the other two.
