Blogging

Not to be confused but most definitely shares similarities with the 1958 hit TV movie – The Blob, about an alien life form that consumed everything in its path as it grew and grew and grew. A blog, making its debut some forty odd years later, is a personal entry on a website, usually regarding specific news or a particular subject. The blog is entered by a blogger. Blogs are written in chronological order and most commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Although sometimes most blogging is attributed to personal soapboxes, shock bloggers or individuals wth way too much time on their hands, other groups, such as, religious and professional clusters, political parties, businesses, and media organizations, have caught on to the blogging frenzy. Bloggers can sometimes control who they expose their blogs to and who they allow to respond to their exposure. However, anyone can have a voice in blogging and the world is their audience.

In some instances writers believe that they have died and gone to heaven through blogging. They feel theyâ€TMve cut out the middle man and can now do the work of most editors and publishers. This has long been a gray area where theyâ€TMve felt much of their work had been distorted due to editors and publishers trying to appeal to particular audiences.

As some of us take tiny baby steps in capturing the very idea of blogging, the rapid pace of technology is already changing the current status of blogs. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The popularity of digital audio players such as iPods has incited the growth of typical blogging to the more advanced/complicated blogging with audio content. Downloading these audio blogs, more commonly known as "podcasts" is the equivalent of radio "on demand." Bloggers can choose and download a wide range of audio files, including music, talk radio-like commentaries and lectures and then listen to them at their convenience using a portable media player or PC. Cell phones with built-in digital cameras and wireless Internet connections are also changing the pace of blogging, as well. Bloggers utilizing these tools can snap a picture, write a short caption and then post it on a "moblog" or mobile log, regardless of time and place. Creating a blog is as simple as finding a website that will provide step by step instructions on how to do so.

Just as the World Wide Web provided us with instantaneous information on almost any subject or topic, blogging has provided us with an immediate platform of communication with an abundance of responses on any subject or topic. Blogging also has great potential to enable ground reporting when news happens quickly or in remote locations. Blogger responses can be quite intelligent, passionate, and emotional, which is clearly an advantage if the blogger is familiar with the issue at hand. On the other hand blogger responses can be quite passionate and emotional with absolutely no sign of intelligence. Blogging doesnâ€TMt only respond to a subject or topic; it creates a voice directly to other bloggers, which in some cases beautiful music can be made between bloggers, in other cases an on-line riot can be incited at any given blog. Blogging is not always for the faint at heart; it wouldnâ€TMt hurt to develop an extra layer of skin.

The days of the “die hard, “fact-finding, “spend some time researching to produce strong and powerful, less opinionated, well-crafted articles has proven itself over time and hopefully is not a thing of the past but blogging is truly a force to be reckoned with and it has seemed to changed the way we communicate with no hard and fast rules attached to it. Only time will dictate its survival.

Blogging: SEO Blogging Software

Benn Brown Internet Business/Blogging 2008-03-26

There are many money making opportunities online but there are also those who simply use the internet’s power for fun and for their hobbies. One of the many innovations today online is blogging. Blogging can be defined in many different ways depending on the blogger intentions.

Bloggers post blogs for many different reasons and this is how they define blogging. If you want to improve the search rankings of your blogs, increase your profits, and your readers or subscribers, you can make use of SEO blogging software.

Whenever you post a new blog, it is full of fresh ideas and information. In order to get high rankings in search engines, the contents of your blog should always be fresh and so you need to update often. How can you optimize the blog contents and get high rankings?

You can do this by putting the right key-phrase or keyword in your blog’s title and scatter them all throughout the blog post. You mustn’t forget about internal linking as well because this plays an important role in the rankings. These things can attract more readers and subscribers and the coolest thing about it is that it won’t cost you anything.

Optimizing your blogs is just like optimizing a certain website; the techniques used are all the same. There is another thing that you shouldn’t forget. Your main site must be linked with your key-phrase or keyword. You can boost your page rank or PR by posting many interesting blogs especially for theme-based sites. This is the surface of SEO blogging software.

In choosing SEO blogging software, there are some things that you need to check:

The first is to check the Meta data. As mentioned earlier, you must choose appropriate key-phrase or keywords. By doing so, you can attract more traffic. Meta data will be converted into tags. Separate pages are created by ping services for every tag. The pages are indexed by the major search engines and your blog posts will be published on the search engine’s page under the tag examples.

Another is the sexy URLs. The URL of the blog posts should contain the essential keywords – this is the meaning of sexy URLs. Your post’s title will be added automatically to the URL. By simply using the keywords in your post’s title, it can find its way to the URL.

Successful blogs will often receive comments and some may contain URLs in them. The SEO blogging software can decide whether your linking power is leaked to the comments. Tags will be placed on every comment – whether ‘do follow’ or ‘no follow’.

SEO blogging software is sometimes integrated to the blog platforms. Google sitemaps are also important and if you do it automatically, it’s really great.

So there you have it; these are the things that you need to look into when choosing your SEO blogging software. If you want to become a successful blogger, you need to give importance to the contents of your blog posts. By using SEO blogging software, you can also optimize your rankings in search engines.

If you’re a new blogger, you should look for the right SEO blogging software in the market. There are many blogging softwares that you can choose from and so you must be able to choose the right one for your blog posts. Now, you can look forward to a successful blogging career.

Blogging Truths

What can be further from the truth about blogging? It is phenomenal and explosive. Admittedly, blogging brings bloggers together. There is no other way that communities can be formed so easily, with bloggers exchanging views and ideas so willingly and honestly. Blogging provides the welcome space for bloggers to speak their minds via their blogs. It is the landscape on the internet that has made web surfing to be much more diverse, interesting and appealing.

Blogging has its own truths. To be successful in blogging, it is imperative to realize and understand these truths. Progress can be made. Results will be amazingly positive. Before these to happen, truths must be unfolded and followed faithfully.

Whatever the profession is, blogging truths require the blogger to be real. Bloggers have the responsibility of thoroughly knowing themselves. They must be in control of their own directions, where they are heading to in their blogging, what aims do they have for initiating their blogs, and how do they plan to achieve what they have planned at the outset. They must control their own destiny. Besides these, they have to comprehend their fellow bloggers too. These are people on the other side reading and listening. They comprise the target audience who are looking for something specific to their needs. Put simply, there is really too much for bloggers to blog about especially when it is about everything. Bloggers have to be specific.

To succeed in any endeavor, there must exist passion. If there is passion in blogging, the result will be that blogs will be outstanding. Bloggers will use their voices passionately about the things they are passionate about in their blogging. It is not difficult to visualize the enjoyment of something developing into passion, turning the blog into an explosive connection with other bloggers.

Needless to say, good blogging requires constant posting. Blogging truths endorse this fact that posts must be made constantly and with the inclusion of fresh content. Numerically, posting has to be made at the minimum once a day within a five-day week. Anything less than that is unacceptable. This is imperative because of the fact that the blogs will be subject to the scrutiny of search engines. Blogs will be searched more regularly for fresh content. Fresh content is therefore important not only to readers but also to search engines.

In blogging, the process of links is fairly noticeable. Links can imply that the blogger expresses interest in a certain topic posted, or that the linking blogger wishes to express his respect to the other blogger for the interesting post. The quality of the links that the blogger is linking to have the possibility of commanding more respect from readers and fellow bloggers. Respect begets respect. Links provide the way for newer blogs to be noticed only if their outward links are of higher quality.

Blogging truths reveal that in blogging, it is important and useful to request for and leave comments on the blogs. This process opens up the way for traffic and relationships building. Through links on the comments, the community members will be able to know more about the blogger and vice versa. There is the opportunity to get blogs and content revealed to the community. It is the golden path to enlargement of networking.

On the flip side of seriousness is fun. Blogging can be made fun. In reality, it should be fun, as it requires a voice from the blogger. It is an understatement to say that it can change views and relationships between blogger and customer. The fun aspect of blogging should be unanimous.

The advancement in technology is changing our lives on the ground and on the web. There are the new innovation of podcasting and video-blogging technologies which should not be left on the shelf. Blogging will be more enhanced with such cutting-edge technologies incorporated into the blogs. There will be more expression and appeal on these blogs.

New posts written have to be communicated to the blogosphere. In the world of blogging, there is the 'pinging' action that blog-software takes care of. This action readily shows the new posts to the rest of the blogging world. Bloggers thus stay connected and updated. To complement what 'pinging' can do, it is essential that content can be readily received by other bloggers or readers. This can be resolved by the usage of feeds. Through feeds, content can be easily read anytime and anywhere.

In blogging truths, it is strongly recommended to write a good blog post title. This is to captivate readers and to make them read on. When there are more readers, the chances of more links are higher. In the eyes of search engines, these are the kind of post titles they are searching for and type of blogs that they are sending more traffic to.

Learn more of these blogging truths and keep them in mind when blogging. They are the sure path to blogging success.

Blogging Professionals

Professional blogging is a very new idea with a lot of potential for entrepreneurs who have insight, drive, and a basic understanding of today's innovative web technology. The ranks of so-called pro bloggers are still quite small, and there are very few people who make their living entirely off of their blogs. However, every day there are more and more people who have managed to turn their weblogs into cash cows that supplement their income. The number of pro bloggers is growing by leaps and bounds, but it is difficult to say whether this trend will continue.

Many bloggers dream of entering the sphere of professional blogging. There are very few people who happily devote an hour or more each day to their blog without at least occasionally wishing that they could earn some kind of financial reward for all of their work. Several models exist for making money with a blog, the most popular being to sell advertising space through Google's AdSense program or directly to a company that wishes to reach the demographic that your blog appeals to. However, there are very few people indeed who can make a comfortable living just by selling space on their blog sidebars.

A lot of the people who read weblogs are bloggers themselves, in part because of the fact that the people who use blogging technology on a daily basis are most likely to be interested in what other writers are doing with the medium. This fact begins to explain why the people who succeed in the world of professional blogging are mostly people who have devoted themselves almost entirely to learning about, talking about, and writing about blogging. More than any other topic, pro bloggers turn their attention to the phenomenon of blogging itself. A lot of pro bloggers make the topic of blogging the stunningly self-reflexive ongoing focus of their blogs.

Defiantly the blogging techniques will be getting more and more difficult every day. In the current moment, pro bloggers who attract the largest audiences and make the most money are mostly concerned with investigating the blogging movement and with offering advice to amateur bloggers. However, as the kinds of people who regularly read blogs changes, and the demographics of bloggers expand and diversify as blogging software becomes more user friendly, it is very likely indeed that the world of pro blogging will begin to reflect these changes. For sure, it is not easy to forecast the change to your blog which can reaping the greatest financial rewards five or ten years down the road. The world of pro blogging is one of constant change and flux, which is part of what makes it so exciting.

Blogging Software

With blogging becoming increasingly popular, there is also an increasing need for software to simplify the process of blogging. However, there are many different software packages available which can make selecting a package seem overwhelming. Selecting a software package does not have to be difficult though. Bloggers can find websites which provide comparison charts for different software packages to simply the decision making process. These charts can save the blogger a great deal of time and effort because they compile a wealth of information into one convenient location. The blogger may still need some additional information before using these comparison charts to make a decision. The article will provide insight into some of this additional information which may be useful such as how to understand the comparison charts, methods for comparing the software packages and tips on selecting a blogging software package.

Blogging Software Criteria

Those interested in starting or maintaining a blog should fully understand the blogging software criteria before attempting to compare software packages. Some of the criteria it is important to understand include the minimum server requirements, data storage and the post editor. Understanding these criteria is critical to the process of comparing and selecting blogging software packages.

The minimum server requirements refers to the minimum requirements for the server on which the software is to be installed. In most cases the power and speed of the server is not relevant but instead it depends on the power and speed of the software necessary for the proper operation of the blog software. There may be additional costs associated with this software as well as additional license requirements.

Data storage is also an important part of evaluating blogging software packages. This may include options such as a flat file, a data file or a database. A flat file refers to storage options in which the full page is pulled each time the blog is requested by a browser. A data file refers to situations in which the data for the blog is inserted into a template when the blog is requested by a browser. A database refers to storage options in which the necessary information is pulled from a flat file and inserted into a template when the blog is requested by a browser.

The post editor is another criterion a blogger may want to investigate carefully before selecting blogging software. The post editor refers to the type of editor which will be used to fill in the posts listed on the blog. These data entry methods may include options such as HTML or JAVA.

Comparing Blogging Software Packages

Bloggers who are seeking a blogging software package should carefully compare the different software packages available. This is important because obviously some software packages are superior to others. It is also important because some software packages may be better suited for the needs of a particular blog than other packages. When comparing blogging software packages it is important for the blogger to first carefully consider the needs of the blog. This is important because it will help the blogger to realize which criterion is most relevant to his particular blog.

Selecting Blogging Software Packages

After carefully evaluating blogging software packages, it is time for the blogger to make a decision and select one of the available packages. Ideally the blogger will have already compared important data such as storage space, server requirements and post editors. However, the blogger must also consider other factors such as cost and versatility. Many blogging software packages are available free of charge while there are some which are available for purchase. The blogger will have to decide whether or not it is worthwhile to purchase a software package or whether free software packages will meet his blogging needs.

After considering software criteria and cost, the blogger should consider viewing sample blogs created using a particular software package. This is a good idea because these samples can provide a good indication of the capabilities of the software. This is because in general the higher the quality of the samples, the greater the capabilities of the software.

Bloggers Blogging Blogs

A recent report finds that 62% of Internet users don’t know what a “blog” is.

Last year, the Oxford Dictionary of English added the word “blog” to its selection of new words. Unlike the similar addition of the Internet meaning of “dot” a few years back, I suspect most people replied to “blog” with “Huh?” A recent report supports my suspicion in its findings that 62% of Internet users don’t know what a “blog” is.

Plain and simple, a blog is essentially a journal posted to the Internet for anyone to read. What started out as a way for individuals to share their diaries with the world is fast becoming the talk of the Web.

First, let me help you understand the name. Say “Web”, like the World Wide Web, then “log”, like a daily captain’s log. Now, say the two words faster. Sounds like “weh-blog”, right? That’s the short history of the name.

A blog has grown to essentially cover commentary, opinion or observations posted to a Web site on a regular basis. It’s a pulpit from which anyone can share their views with the world. Bloggers (the people that write blogs) include a number of traditional columnists, analysts and pundits. In their cases, blogs let them extend their expertise and audience beyond the confines of the printed, broadcast or packaged publication.

Blogs are also ordinary folks who feel they have a voice. And, it’s these new voices that seem to hold the most promise. Professionals who never had a channel to the public, self-decreed or de facto experts on a topic, creative types working the art of the blog and a few blowhards who just think they need to be heard are all blogging.

Blogs may be reshaping our use of the Internet, the distribution of news and the proliferation of opinion. Dan Gillmor recently left his ten-year post as a columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, the newspaper at the center of Silicon Valley. Gillmor struck out on his own to fuel the fire of “distributed” journalism, his terms for the effect of blogs on traditional reporting. “I think of distributed journalism as somewhat analogous to any project or problem that can be broken into little pieces,” Gillmor states on his blog at http://dangillmor.typepad.com, “where lots of people can work in parallel on small parts of a bigger question and collectively – and relatively quickly – bring to bear lots of individual knowledge and/or energy to the matter. The important thing is the parallel activity by a large number of people.”

Gillmor is apparently on to something. The Pew Internet and American Life Project recently found that blog use increased 58% last year. At the time of the study late in 2004, just 27% of Internet users were following blogs. But blogs represent a huge growth area within the Net.

Some of this popularity is attributed to the recent presidential election and politics in general. Bloggers covered every facet of the political process, including the media coverage. And since blogging is about more than just reporting the news, they have become part of the political process.

Gillmor cites a recent example centered on the DeLay Rule in the U.S. House of Representatives. Gillmor credits two political blogs with helping force House Republicans to reverse direction on a vote. The blogs “asked readers to call their Republican members of Congress and ask how they voted on the original secret vote to give DeLay a break” after being indicted.

Blogs are tied to Web sites, so searching for a blog of interest is similar to finding a Web site. Finding a quality blog may be harder. Try these tips:

* Look at your favorite Web sites for links to blogs.
* Search for a topic in your favorite search engine, following your search term with the word “blog” (i.e., association management software blog)
* Look to sites like Bloglines, Feedster and others that house blogs for writers. Some of these sites list blogs by category, making it easy to find blogs that fit your interests.

Blogging Etiquette

View Detail
The Do’s and Don’ts of blogging Here is a small list of four things to remember when you are blogging: 1. Do keep your professional blog separate from your personal blog The amount of blogs on the internet increases everyday. The access to these blogs is world wide and can reach large masses of people very quickly. The price of one incorrect comment or slander of one person can quickly cause major damage. For example, a blog/family/>family blog is one thing compared to a blog/church/>church blog or professional blog. You would not want your bachelor weekend photos to get mixed up with your church retreat pictures or your content on your new product line with your personal recipes. Just like every professional is guided by a personal belief to do better in the world, you do want your professional blog, to look professional even if it is personal because it is representing you. 2. Do update your blog more often than not Especially if you are investing in a professional blog, you need to update your blog often. People look for those “last updated” notes when they are looking at your blog. If you update it often it shows you care for one thing, and that you are still in business for another. Having a blog/professional/>professional blog is like having an open sign on your door. Just when you notice when a store changes their window display, when you change a photo and update your blog, you are enticing people to look in and check out what is new. 3. Don’t copy someone else’s blog, be original Think about the reason you went to someone’s blog in the first place- because it was original and brought you in. It was creative and different than all the other blogs out there and you were drawn to it. If you copy someone else’s blog that was once original and you steal their flame not only will you look silly, but the person who created the original blog will probably change their blog and make it look ten times better than your now-old copied version anyhow, and no one appreciates a tacky knock-off. 4. Don’t be inconsiderate about your posts Whether blog/family/>family blog or professional, this is going “live” so to speak. All your posts about someone or something are going to be available for everyone to see. Unless your goal is to have a hideous tabloid blog, you need to be careful about what you say. Don’t post it unless you know for certain that it is in fact true! Posting a horrible statement that was just a vicious rumor about someone or some business is not only discrediting to you- your blog and that person, it is just circling the gossip mill and not helping anyone. As the saying goes- if a person has a bad experience somewhere they will tell ten people, if they have a good experience somewhere they may tell one or two. Starting a blog/professional/>professional blog or a family blog is challenging and rewarding. Good luck and happy blogging.

Blogging Tips

Blogging 101

If writing is an art, then, blogging is one way of using words to come up with an art. This is because people who are into blogging are the ones who are artistic on their own sense, carefully choosing words that would best describe their feelings, sentiments, wishes, desires, and everything.

Basically, blogs were first introduced as weblogs that refer to a “server’s log file.” It was created when web logging hit the virtual market. Since its inception in the mid-1990s, web logging gradually saturated the virtual community making the Internet a viable source of greater information.

However, with web logging, you still need a web site and domain names, but with blogging, you do not need anything just an account with blog providers. In most cases, these kinds of blogs are free of charge.

With the onset of blogging in the industry, personal journaling had been a common ground for people who wish to be known all over the world. However, not literally famous as this is not a case on being popular or well-known personality.

Generally, blogs are created for personal use. Like a journal, people can write their daily adventures, sentiments, and whatever ideas they want to express online.

Nevertheless, with the advent of the online businesses, blogs had gradually taken the limelight in providing businesses a chance to boost their productivity online. This is where the business blogs have taken the limelight.

Business blogs are, basically, created to advertise the services or products of a certain web site or online business in order to increase online sales.

Moreover, business blogs are also one way of promoting the company so that the other readers will know that a certain company exists online. With blogs, entrepreneurs are able to establish a name in the virtual market through articles that can be very useful in the reader’s life.

From there, you can make money out of blogs by simply syndicating it to your business’ web site. This can be done through the RSS technology.

So, if you are thinking to create a blog, whether for business or for pleasure, you need to know some tips that could help you get through and make your blog one of the interesting blogs online.

Here’s how:

1. Consider your audience

Even if your blog is generally personal, still, it would be better to consider the minds of your readers. You have to think of something that would interest them.

After all, most of the reasons of people who write blogs are not at all confined to their own personal motives. Most of them would love to be “heard” (or read) and would love to be known, in some way or another, even for just a minute. Hence, it is very important to come with a write up that everybody can understand, not necessarily that these people can relate to it but they can understand it.

2. Pictures speaks a thousand words

To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it would be extremely nice if you will put some pictures in it. It does not necessarily mean you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs will do as long as it does not pose danger or insult to anyone who will be reading your blog.

3. Make constructive and beneficial blogs

Even if you are free to write anything you wan to say to the world, still, it would be better to create some write-ups that would be beneficial to your readers.

After all, its information technology that you have there so better be inclined to provide information rather than sheer quirky entertainment.

4. Avoid making multifaceted and complicated blogs

In order to have an interesting blogs, try not to use some highly technical and highfalutin words. After all, it is not a science discourse or a debate that you are making, so better stick to simple facts and short blogs.

Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than scrutinizing each site word for word. Therefore, it would be better to come with blogs that will not bore your readers just because you have these lengthy articles.

5. Make it interactive

As much as possible and if your capacity will allow it, make your blog interactive. Yu can do this by placing some video or audio clips in your blog.

You can even place an area for comments or for some feedbacks. In this way, you can get some impressions or reactions of other people. Who knows, you might even gain some friends just by making them feel at home in your blog site.

Indeed, blogs are not created just for the mere fun of it. It also has its own purpose in the world of the Internet. Therefore, for people who wish to harness their craft, as far as writing is concerned, blogs are the best way to do it.

As they say, blogging is the contemporary term of creative and commercial writing.

5 Reasons Why Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential. Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

1.Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary... an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging is authentic. In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.

4. Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

5. Blogging builds your market. Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:

-By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

-By using subscription. An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

-By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

-By joining a blog network –A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

All You Need To Know About Blog Hosts

Apart from the chat rooms, instant messengers and electronic mails created for communication and dialogue beyond turf are the emerging innovations that help man build opportunities for interaction. The need for a personalized and human face aspect of building online communities is slowly changing the technological landscape of the Internet.

Blogs / “weblogs” or blogging are the newest gift of Internet technology to people all over the world. These are updated posts, crop up entries or personalized life snippets, of mundane or bizarre in nature. For most, a “blog” is a personal, unedited, and authentic journal meant to be shared in an online community. Blog site is a place where bloggers can publish anything; his thoughts, feelings, photos, special events, experiences, comments on issues and so on. It is more of an online diary with videos, links, documents, newsletters and opinions on just about any topics you are interested.

Blogs are made to welcome the insights and opinions of all and therefore, should not be written to sound intimidating and too formal. This kind of blog is a sure way to put off the readers. In the basics of blogging, conversational tone would be more appropriate to reach the desired audience.

Blogging is all about individuals reaching out to other individuals. Having a blog has its own set of advantages: ? Freedom of Expression. Business people are usually clueless to recent technological innovations which would help them maximize their marketing potentials. For these beginners, it is best to study first the services offered by blog hosts. An ineffective business blogging program may damage marketing opportunities instead of enriching them.

A company may decide to do the following depending on its capacity and needs: 1) Host their own blog service, 2) Pay someone else to host the service, or 3) Setup a “blog aggregator page” and ask the employees to select their blog hosting services individually. There are paid and free services available for individuals.

For business blogs, they are required to have the latest blogging features; if not, this will prevent them from maximizing their marketing, public relations and SEO potentials.

Keep in mind that blogs should have the following basic essentials:

COMMENTS. Welcoming comments provide opportunity for dialogue. In business blogs, they are a good customer feedback mechanism. This helps develop better customer relations based from loyalty and trust. Blogging is an innovative way to converse with your customers. TRACKBACK. This helps in maximizing company and product exposure. Through this service, consumers can get back to you for more posts and updates without the difficulty of locating you. If your blog is popular in a specific online community chances are links going back to your blog site are everywhere online, other blog sites or even websites. CATEGORIES AND TAGS. These both help in classifying blog searches for ease of navigation and on site search. Categories act as libraries because it classifies posts by subject matter such as business, distance learning, e-commerce, online auctions, etc. Tags, help in the classification, especially in the blog search engine Technorati. Possible customers and new clients locate blogs about certain topics of interest by just clicking the tags. RSS FEED. Really Simple Syndication is the feed from your blog that is sent out over the internet, and collected through the various newsreaders and aggregators.

If your company is to establish a business blogging program, considerable options should be made available by the hosting companies shortlisted for the services. Free blog hosting services are popular but they are much appropriate for individual online journals. Paid blog hosting services offer unlimited packages best for your company’s needs. You may want to suggest checking out some blogs that use the host first, read and examine their layout and design. Another important thing to consider is a reliable technical support the host has.

After, choosing the blog host, a team should be ready to plan the design and structure of the blog: The team should: ? create a style that meets the needs of the audience; ? establish an open, credible tone; ? schedule weekly updating of blog - ideally, a few times a week; ? include weblinks of other website and blogs; ? blog post should be in the “first person;” ? focus on the business blog objective; and, ? maintain an honest, engaging conversational quality.

Remember, whatever the look, style and content found on your blog is a reflection of you and your company.

How to Increase Sales Through Streaming Audio

Many studies have proven that radio is a good medium for product advertisements. People listen to the radio for entertainment, usually to listen to the latest music or to their favorite radio program. In between the program, advertisements on products and services are being played.

For many years, this has been the trend in advertising. But now that the radio medium is almost behind the audio-visual medium, the TV, and the Internet, other marketing strategies have to be employed to continue the benefits of advertising through audio.

It is then that the benefits of using music on websites were discovered. Before, music on the Internet was just available in downloadable forms as mp3. Even through hosting downloadable music on their servers, companies were able to get much traffic on their sites. And everyone engaged in Internet marketing knows that website traffic plays a big role in boosting product and service sales.

However, there had been a problem with illegal music download in which artists, musicians and record companies have lost millions of revenues.

Then, came the popularity of Internet music streaming. Unlike the former, radio streaming does not allow download of the music files. Thus, the copyrights of the artists and record label owners are protected.

So, how can this be done? There are several ways to stream audio from your site. First, is to stream a radio program from your site or blog. You can find free affiliate programs that allow you to stream their radio content from your site.

What will this mean to you? This means that your site will have new audio content every time it is visited. What's even great is that the content is being updated even without much effort from you.

In this case, what you needed to do is to signup with an Internet radio station and have the link embedded on your blog or website.

Another way is to stream mp3s. To do this, you just need to upload your mp3files on a server and add the files' links to the page. When the link is clicked, the browser opens a media player window and plays a file. However, since the file is in mp3 format, it may also be downloaded. Downloading music files without the authorization of the copyright owner is illegal. Therefore, if you will be using this type of streaming, make sure that you have the appropriate permit to do so.

A third way to add audio to you blog or website is to stream music through organizing playlists. Playlists are m3u files, which if downloaded, will not play music if offline. Using this process, however, can be complex. Here is a short instruction on how to do it.

1. Save your mp3 or wma file on the server. You may skip this step if you know that the file exists on another server and know the link to that file. Make sure that the link has a .mp3 or .wma extension.

2. Open your text editor and type the path to the file. Include the http:// and the file extension. Repeat this step until you have included all the links to the files that you would like to be included in the playlist.

3. Save the playlist with a .m3u extension.

4. Upload the m3u file on the directory where the music files are hosted or to your server.

5. Open your html editor and embed the link to the m3u file. Through this, you can also set if you want to have the playlist to autoplay if someone visits your site of if you want your visitor to control playing the music. You can also set the volume level.

After the code is embedded on the html file, and whenever your site is visited, the songs in the playlist will be buffered, streamed and played one after another. If your playlist has several songs, the user can skip forward or go back a song in the playlist using the media player controls.

Doing this setup works for many website owners. Through this you can customize the type of music being played on your site. You can even play recordings related to your product to boost product awareness.

It requires knowledge of html to be done. But if it will be the best way to increase traffic to your site, why not request assistance from programmers. After all, having audio on a website is a proven way to increase sales.

Any subject that are of your interests, you can be sure that someone has written a blog about it.

Blogs are now being written by musicians, politicians, sports figures, novelists, newscasters as well as other known figures. It is this blog fever that has raised controversy. The fact that anyone can compose and regarding any subject matter under the sun, complaints about certain write-ups are an issue. In a lot of blogs, names are being mentioned; do bear in mind that although you are entitled to write anything that interests you in a blog, you have to be very careful and take in a lot of responsibility. Do not make any statements which can become controversial; or else, be very prepared.

Why a Blog?

1. For personal acquaintances, relationships and hobby. A person can write a blog about his daily activities, what’s going on with his life as his way of telling his family and friends the things that goes on in his life. Likewise, one may also write a blog just so he can express what he feels about himself, or about a certain subject matter that is of interest to him.

3. For marketing. Corporations are too, into blogging; when well written and implemented, this kind of blog can be a powerful instrument for business communications, forming eagerness and anticipation regarding their products and services offered, or used as tool within the company, keeping employees well informed about company issues and news.

Why someone else's software?

A lot of Web designer and creators will laugh at the belief and idea of utilizing the software of someone else. This is can be correct especially when each software greatly differs from the particular requirements that a client may have. Yet on the other hand, when it refers to a Weblog software, there is no reason for apprehension in the use of a package that is pre-written, as most packages were developed through years of study; not just knocked together over a couple of days.

In addition, one may study its feature set. For a developer, it would take a lot of time and effort to write and compose from “nothing at all” every single feature in the Weblog software packages of today. For most people, a blog is there for the main reason that chooses to publish or make known your literature and texts on the Web, so you want to spend your time more on writing than coding.

Hosted Services

If one wishes to start broadcasting on the Web, yet does not have web hosting, one can consider looking into a hosted service, which includes Blogger, TypePad, Live Journal, and more.

These services are operated or handled for an individual, so there is no need to concern one about technical upkeep of one’s Weblog; instead, one can concentrate on his blog's appearance and content. In just minutes, after signing for an account, one can readily start his own blog. Many such services are offered free, such as blogger. TypePad charges a minimal amount for monthly service fee.

Self-Hosted

When one has Web hosting on hand, or is eager to buy hosting, in which one feesl that the advantage will prevail over the problems of keeping up your own blog connection and installation, then you may want to take into account a package that is self-hosted, which includes Movable Type, Textpattern and WordPress.

Other hosting companies did construct the process of installation easier, permitting installation with just a click from a control panel that is browser-based. It is important that you check with a hosting company so you can view if this function is offered. Similar to hosted services, some self hosted packages are made available either for free or for a certain fee which is dependent on the type of package that you choose as well as the basis why you are using it.

The Importance of Blog Design

Blogs have increased popularity over this past months. Many people have started to create their personal blogs to express their thoughts and feelings. Internet companies have also started their blogs to inform consumers on the latest product news and reviews.

Because of this, blogs are also being used as internet marketing media. Before, internet marketing is done by placing banners and links on popular websites, such as news and information sites. Links were also included on newsletters and marketing letters sent to the members of their mailing lists.

Many people spend time reading blogs. People read their friend's blogs, their favorite author's blogs, blogs on topics that they are interested in, and blogs on product reviews. With the increasing popularity of blogging, it is even feared that people rely on blogs to get the latest news.

While getting news reports from blogs isn't reliable, some people look for product reviews through blogs. In some cases, this is more dependable. While it is true that some media persons are being paid to write good reviews about a certain product, blog writers write about their actual experiences on products and services from a company.

Since there are many people who read and start their own blogs, blogs are a good medium to market a product. With the increasing blog traffic means increase in product sales.

Blog traffic can be increased by joining affiliate programs and sites, which will list your blog under a certain search category or name. You can also have your blog advertised in popular websites. This, however, will cost some money and is not advisable if you have just started blogging.

A writer who has just launched his/her blog will want as much traffic as possible to increase advertisements on the site. Also, some advertisers pay every time their link is clicked or the page that has their link is viewed.

When you have increased traffic on your blog, you should try to keep you visitors coming back and recommending your blog to friends and colleagues.

This can be done by having informative or amusing content and good blog layout and design. You may develop your blog's content or you can also acquire the services of a web content writer to provide you with the blog articles.

The blog's layout and design also plays a big role. While most of the companies offering free blog hosting offer pre-selected templates, there are also some that allows customization that if you utilize this feature correctly can increase your blog's traffic.

Here are a few tips to make your blog stand out from the millions of blogs out there that have standard designs.

* Customize the banner

The banner usually has the most generic designs that are common to the blogs from a blogging company or service.

You can personalize this banner by having a graphic with the dimensions of the banner. You can also edit the graphic so that it will also include the title of your blog.

In this case, you can create your own graphic or you can purchase professional looking graphics online for less than $10.

* Personalizing photos

Of course, most of the photos that you will be posting will be your own. However, if you don't customize the photos before posting them, you may miss maximizing the enhancing benefits graphics can add to the page. Adding photo borders can help the photo stand out from the page.

It can also add to the design of your blog. You can choose a standard border or you can also create your own border which can be associated with your blog's templates.

* Add a favicon

Don't you think sites with icons on the address bar before the website's URL are cool? Many people do. These favicons add a professional look to the URL. These easy to do using photo or graphic editing softwares.

* Check out blog templates, layouts, backgrounds, textures and skins from sites

There are sites that offer free blog templates, layouts, backgrounds, textures and skins. You can make use of these so your blog will not look generic like most of the blogs hosted by the service provider.

* Include RSS feeds

This is a cool way to inform people with newsreaders about your blog headlines. Tutorials on RSS feeds are available on the internet.

* Audio makes your blog more personal

Not only does audio personalizes the blog; it can also keep your visitors coming back. You can try having streaming radio stations, mp3 file or playlists loading with your blog.

* Advertisements

If you have signed-up with Google Ad-Sense, which I am sure you would like to do, make sure that the ads are conveniently placed that these will not hinder your readers' ease in accessing the information on your blog.

Try using these tips and you can definitely increase and retain traffic on your blog.

If you are looking for a way to drive more traffic to your website, look no further. Blogging is a very effective way to bring new visitors to your site. Search engines like blogs and this is why when doing a keyword search, you will very often see a blog posting at the top of the list.

If you are not blogging, you are missing out on a lot of traffic to your site. Start one or several blogs and channel all that traffic to your main website. Your blog can be a subsection of your website or you can build a stand along version. Either way, make sure you link back to your main site. Place links to your home page as well as other pages from your site. You are trying to get as much exposure for your site as possible.

There are several ways you can use to create your blog. The two that I recommend are Blogger and Wordpress. They are both easy to use and navigate. They also offer a lot of features so you can customize the look of your blog. You have the option of hosting your blog on their servers or you can host it yourself. To host it yourself, you will need to purchase and register your own domain. Many hosting companies will offer free domain registration when you purchase a hosting account from them.

There are several benefits for hosting your blog yourself. For this article, we will discuss two of them. First, the url itself. If you host your blog on Blogger, your url will look like this: yourwebsite.blogspot.com. However, if you host it yourself, the url will look like this: yourwebsite.com. This will give your url a more professional, as well as credible, look. Plus, it will be much easier for your readers to remember.

The second reason to host your own blog is far more significant. Blogs that are hosted on free services, are at risk of disappearing without warning or reason. All your hard work and effort will be gone. If you choose to go this route, I highly recommend keeping backups of all your posting's on a disc, just in case.

Here are some pointers to a successful blog. Post frequently, at least 2 - 3 times per week. Blogs that are not updated regularly will become boring and lose their following. Add an RSS feed so your readers can subscribe to your blog. This will also notify them when you have added a new post.

Give your blog personality. Make it interesting to your viewers. A dull, uninteresting blog will not build much of a following.

Finally, find other blogs in your niche and write some comments to their posts. Most blogs will allow you a link back to your site. Post useful, informative comments. Do not post SPAM or sales pitch comments. You can use this method to build good working business relationships as well as establish links back to your site.

Will you believe that blogs are just powerful enough to do different things? For instance, if you want the world to know that you have a beautiful little baby girl, all you need to do is to post a blog on your site or on a blogging community saying such proclamation. If you are not yet contented, you can display the picture of your baby girl by means of photo blogging. Simply post her picture and the whole world will know.

It is good if that will be the case. However the power of blogging is now beginning to be used for black propaganda. In what sense? Take the following instances: There are individuals who are using blogs to exercise their political rights by revealing some horrible expose about certain federal officials that generates personal revenues from a government-funded infrastructure project.

The point here is anyone can actually make a blog without any censorship that will prevent him to post what he wants to post. Much worse, the identity of the blogger is at great risk. What if that federal official founds out your real identity and will make way to eliminate you out of his way? Not only your identity is at stake, but also your life as well.

But the above-mentioned concerns should not prevent you from writing blogs especially if you have good intentions in doing so. Instead, you should be inspired to keep your blog private or accessible only on particular trusted individuals.

This article will show the simplest precaution you can take on how to maintain your personal privacy so that you can still express yourself without facing worse or even fatal consequences. If followed correctly, these precautions can save you from the consequences and from embarrassment or just from plain weirdness in front of your friends and co-workers.

Blog Anonymously

The safest way to express yourself especially when your blog contains uncensored or weird items is to blog anonymously. It is just like writing a poem and taking the “Anonymous” as your author’s name. However, being anonymous in a blog is not just as easy as you might think.

For instance, you want to make a blog that tackles your terrible working environment in your company without risking your boss or co-workers discovering that you are eventually writing about them. Here are some of the techniques and technologies you can use to make it hard for anyone to trace your uncensored blog back to you.

Avoid Mentioning Exact Details about your Blog’s Subject

If you will be creating a blog about your work, never give exact details that will pinpoint directly to your workplace. Details such as where your company is located, how many employees are there, and the specific work it offers should not be revealed. Be generalize in everything that you will place in your blog.

Use Pseudonym to Hide your Identity

Obviously, you need a pseudonym to hide your real identity. However, you need to use pseudonyms that are not related to any information about yourself. For instance, do not use pseudonyms that contain the jumbled letters of your name or jumbled numbers of your birthday. One small personal detail can give your identity away.

Use Anonymizing Technologies

If you are still uncertain of the first two techniques, there are several technical solutions you can use to keep your identity anonymous.

• Invisiblog- a web service that offers anonymous blog hosting for free. You can create blogs without giving out your real name. Even service administrators do not have access to your name as well.

• Tor- it is an anonymous network that routes your Internet traffic through a so-called an overlay network that hides your Internet provider address. It makes hard for anyone to follow the path your data takes.

• Anonymizer- it works as the same as Tor, only that it hides your IP address from the services hosting your blog.

By just following the techniques and technologies suggested in this article, you can now blog without fearing that your real identity will be revealed.

Now you can. Vlogging, a social, personal/amateur/professional broadcasting opportunity is the latest in online interactive technology with a community. Have a good idea? Put it on the web, talk about yourself and join the revolution.

To get started you must have an idea or, a spark of an idea or, a little bit of curiosity. It doesn’t take much. Produce a few minutes of video by using a digital camera or a still camera with ‘movie’ feature, edit it or don’t and post it online and see what happens is more the rule of thumb. Sure, it can be grandiose with corporate advertising, field reporters, proper credits and a script. Your vlog can also be ‘home-video’ style entertainment of you sitting in your bedroom eating a bowl of cereal. The numbers don’t lie- people want to see the intimate details of other people’s lives. As we get farther and further removed in our own worlds with little reason to leave the laptop, people are coming forward with their lives published and broadcasted for all the world to see.

Here are some suggested resources for videophiles who want to start vlogging:

For tools, training and tutorials: http://Freevlog.org and Node101 are excellent examples. Freevlog/ Blogger is the leading weblog tool on the Internet. Anyone can view your site, whether they are registered or not (unlike MySpace). You are able to completely design your own blog. There are free tutorials and immense amounts of help to assist you in getting started. Freevlog wants you to join the community of vloggers, making it easier for you to get your skills together on the technical side. Recommended: how to hack your own blog and a basic html guide.

Blip.tv for free hosting, support, advertising options and promotion. This site features hundreds of channels to give you an example of what is out there in the Vlogosphere.

Wordpress - Wordpress is a free blog software that has more features than Blogger. It has the ability to label your postings using categories, making it easier for viewers to search around your site. Wordpress has the advantage over Blogger if you are more technically oriented. If you know xthml/css/php, the software can be customized and encourages creativity. Wordpress requires a mySQL database space on a server. Adding links is simpler than on Blogger and published faster.

Feedburner – provides media distribution and gets your media out there in the Vlogosphere to audiences for blogs and RSS feeds. The services Feedburner provides helps bloggers, vloggers and podcasters promote, deliver and profit from the content you upload onto the web.

FireAnt is an application website you can use to list your vlog, attract viewers and subscribe to channels. It unifies content for easy viewing, transforming all formats (Quicktime, Windows Media, Real, Flash, MP3, and more) for hassle-free video watching on your computer.

"Clearly, given easier solutions, consumers will be far more likely to edit their videos," said Sharpe Partners interactive agency’s CEO Kathy Sharpe. "And those who edit their video are presumably more likely to share it with others, which will expand this market even further."

Wordpress is one of the many options available to bloggers who are looking for free software online which makes it incredibly easy to publish their own blog. This software is easy to use, provides a variety of templates and offer excellent support to bloggers. There are many options available to bloggers and other blogging programs may be better known and offer slightly different features but many bloggers are quite pleased with Wordpress. This article will offer some useful information for bloggers who are considering starting a blog with Wordpress such as reasons to choose Wordpress, tips on starting a blog and information about the support offered by Wordpress. Based on this information as well as their own research bloggers can decide whether Wordpress is right for them or whether they should seek out a different blog network.

Reasons to Choose Wordpress

There are many great reasons to choose Wordpress to start a blog. Some of these reasons include a great variety of templates, the ability to categorize and tag posts easily, features such as spell check, previews and autosave, the ability to post text, audio files and video files, a variety of privacy options and the ability to track statistical data related to the blog in addition to other great features. Some of these features may be more important to some bloggers than others so deciding whether or not Wordpress is right for you will largely be a matter of personal preference. For example bloggers with little or no programming experience may enjoy the myriad of templates available on Wordpress while bloggers who are concerned about privacy issues may be more interested in the privacy options available through Wordpress. Carefully investigating these features will help bloggers determine if they should start a blog with Wordpress.

Starting a Blog with Wordpress

Bloggers who opt to start a blog with Wordpress will certainly not be disappointed by the amount of time it takes to start a blog. A blogger can literally start a blog with Wordpress within minutes. This is tremendously important to bloggers who are eager to get started and do not want to deal with a long process to start a blog. The only requirements for starting a blog are a valid email address and a username. The blogger enters this information into the signup page and receives a password almost instantly. Next the blogger simply has to check his email, follow the activation link provided and use the password provided and the process is complete. The blogger can start blogging immediately.

Support Offered by Wordpress

For many first time bloggers the type of support offered is very important. This is because first time bloggers may have quite a few questions about the process of starting a basic blog and once they establish a basic blog they may have additional questions about using advanced features and customizing the blog. Wordpress offers a great deal of support for bloggers of all skill levels. The support offered by Wordpress includes the ability to contact the support staff as well as the ability to receive support from other members through online forums. Although the support staff is incredibly responsive some bloggers enjoy the ability to communicate with other bloggers in forums. This is because the forums are active 24 hours a day and bloggers can find support from peers at any time.

Business Blogging 101

10x Marketing Internet Business/Blogging 2007-10-11

Whether or not you are living in the past, you have to come to some grip of reality and know that the internet is where the future of advertising is. If you are an entrepreneur looking to expand your market’s outreach, you need to be aware of blog/business_blogs/>business blogs. Business blogs are just a small piece of the internet advertising puzzle.

A business blog is usually a link from a business’s original website, with content in an article form or a journal entry. People look to business blogs to get the most current news about either a business’s product line or current trends in the business market. Business blogs can be great for investors as well as competitors all wanting more and more information. Newspapers and CNN cannot keep up with the demand for information these days, business blogs fill that gap. Reviews in the form of blogs and personal blogs that contain links to your business or business blog all fill a need for more information.

There are a couple things to consider before you begin your own business blog. You want to have a blog/builder/>blog builder help you design your business blog. There are several things a blog builder can do besides offer a template for you to create your design. blog/builder/>blog builders can help your blog get advertising, RSS feeds, assist you in posting photos, videos and allow you to watch the traffic on your blog.

The only problem you have is to decide when to start? Take some time and look at other blog/business_blogs/>business blogs, what is it that other people are doing? It is best to take bits and pieces from everyone and then make your blog unique. Soon your blog will be up and running in no time and people will not only read your blog for information, it will be a way to advertise, especially once they sign up and you are able to send your blog straight to their email every time you update your blog. This is one of the best ways to advertise because it is not spam, they signed up for the email announcement and when they receive it they will be reminded to check out your blog and go to your site. Another great thing to remember is when you update your blog you are letting people know that your doors are open and that your business is doing great. People will look to your blog for updates if you continue to update it regularly. If you neglect your blog for too long, people may think that something isn’t right or that you lack interest in your business which will only turn visitors away.

Creating links to other businesses you support, links to great articles and links to news or other forms of advertising for your business looks great. It shows that you are more than just your blog and blog/business_blogs/>business blogs, and hopefully if you gain a relationship with the businesses you link to, they in turn may link to your site. The more links you create with other blogs only fuels more traffic to your site and that’s what you want. Hopefully, besides your product or service that you are selling, people will click onto your ads and you can earn income simply by blogging!

This article will discuss the history of Blogger as well as the terms of service.

The History of Blogger

Blogger began in 1999 with a small group of friends in the San Francisco area who ran a company called Pyra Labs. These friends did not set out to create a network of bloggers but nevertheless Blogger emerged from their efforts. The three friends who developed bloggers were programmers who toiled away for others in an effort to fund their own endeavors. As previously mentioned a blog network was not their original goal but the friends were intrigued by the idea as it emerged and found others were interested too as their concept quickly took off and new members were joining everyday. Like most Internet entrepreneurs of this time period, they experienced setbacks but continued to persevere.

In 2002 Blogger was doing well but got an unexpected surprise when Google expressed interest in purchasing Pyra Labs. Google was interested in the upswing in the blogging community and the members of Pyra Lab sold
