Every year we spend thousands of dollars on baby food, baby formula, diapers, baby utensils baby cloths, medicines, toys and other baby products. It has become a costly affaire for baby boomers to bring-up babies. Coupons can help such people in controlling these expenditures to some extent. People who choose particular brands only for their baby can also benefit as major manufacturers and retailers of baby products offer significant offers on many of their baby products through coupons.

There are many sources to find baby coupons. Sunday grocery coupon circulars often has discount coupons for baby items such as diapers, baby dishes, baby food and other baby requirements. Local baby product vendors and sales representatives often keep baby coupons and samples at pediatrician s office.

You can ask baby product manufactures and retailers for some coupons and samples using toll free number or their website. They will readily oblige you and send them immediately. But, you may need to pass some positive comments about their products and some times they may ask some personal information about you and your baby.

Many grocery stores create special baby clubs, join one of them. They will provide plenty of baby coupons and even a rebate on your gross purchase on baby items. Watch the newspapers especially on Sundays; they may carry some circulars from your local drug store announcing baby coupons for diaper. Baby Bonding

Baby bonding is the closeness or passionate emotion that strongly binds parents to their wonderful little baby. It is one of best thing to indulge because mere look to the innocent and cute face of the baby stir deep emotion of love. To show the baby how much we care and appreciate them, it is a nice idea to spend time to bond with them.

Baby bonding create ties between the baby and his parents. Generally, this can be shown by constantly hugging and kissing the baby. Massaging and gentle talk can also be a simple way to bond with babies. Showing love and care to babies help the latter to develop intimate attachment with their parents. This attachment is the feeling of assurance that can be felt by the baby immediately when held by his parents.

Baby bonding is develop at the early stage or as soon as the baby comes out. Most mother who breastfeed their young babies tend to develop stronger bond. According to the research the breastfeed babies can easily recognize the presence of their mother. They can also easy recognize the scent, the touch and the kiss of their mother so the moment they felt the presence of their mother they feel more relax and comfort.

The parents immediate response to baby’s need help the baby to develop self-esteem and confidence. Lack of bonding among babies will make the baby sad and lonely and may tend to hamper the babies development. Parents should interact with the babies by simply touching baby’s skin or a managing an eye to eye contact to let the baby feel the parent’s attention and care. Soon the baby will also interact by following parents’ movements and imitating facial expressions and other body language. Baby can make any parents feel good so bonding with them is an important thing that should not be missed.

Baby: Baby Crying 101

Nicholas Tan Home Family/Parenting 2008-04-21

Communication - that's what a baby's crying is for. This sweet thing that suddenly turn into a fit of tears is just craving for your sweeter attention. All cultures in the world nod to this pattern all infants are accustomed to.

A baby cries the most during his or her first three months. Though the amount of crying steadily increase, the crying time period may vary from an hour to most of the day and this could still be considered within normal range. Like, whoah, right? Babies are also known as howling tear factories.

Some thought that a baby cries more during the afternoon accounting it to the anxiousness of the mother or the stressed mood of the father after going home from work. But the most accepted assumption now is that babies have this automatic screening ability they use to shut off all the noise that may stimulate some response from them so they could get enough rest. But in the long run, this filter weakens and totally disappears during the approximate age of six weeks. This, then, make a baby very sensitive to the external factors such as noise, movements, etc. And these generally elicit a reaction from a baby and how best could he or she respond but only through crying.

There are many reasons why a baby succumbs to crying. Deciphering these reasons is the major feat a parent must surmount. Here are some of the things your sweetsome baby is making you understand through crying.

Hunger. Yes, your attention-hungry baby is craving to let you know that his tummy is grumbling. This is the most common reason for a baby to cry, especially, during his early months. The pattern of the hunger howl could be characterized as being persistent, demanding and almost rhythmical. But that rhythm is not at any rate close to becoming musical, of course.

Boredom. What can I say? Aren't these babies just plain spoiled? Crying because of boredom, errr, I'd find that a bit more twisted or weird if it's with an adult that is. But babies are really built like this. Crying is their way of telling you, "Hey get me a life here!" Aside from attention and food, consequently, babies need a lot of stimulation. And when they don't get this, there you get your waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!! The trick is to pick the baby up and play with him. This move may be frowned upon by some because of its amounting to spoiling the baby. But it is important to know that stimulation is also one of the major necessities of an infant and it won't hurt to provide him with some while in his growing age. This boredom cry is said to be also rhythmical and full of sobs and moans.

Discomfort. Pain is another precursor of the baby's crying. Who won't cry when in pain, right? Babies are not Major Paynes to endure the most excruciating discomfort they could undergo. They are little, vulnerable beings that need to be attended to when injured or when in an inconvenient situation. This cry could be more persistent, louder and more demanding. Shrieking and screaming, those are words that better describe the crying pattern roused by pain.

Another cause may be disturbance; surely, howling will proceed just when they're about to sleep or are already fast asleep and suddenly gets surprised by some noise, or movement. An illness that causes discomfort to a baby may also be the reason for a baby's bursting into fit of tears.

Baby Toys

Babies and toys almost seem synonymous. The mere mention of a baby conjures the image of a toy and likewise the sight of a toy brings to mind a baby. A lot of thought goes beyond creating a baby toy. Baby toys are usually as soft as baby skin and by necessity have to be infant friendly in order to qualify as baby toys.

Babies are precious little beings and the utmost care needs to be taken when choosing items that are going to be close to our precious ones.

Materials & Textures Baby toys are made of the softest materials available so as not to hurt the soft skin of babies on contact. While manufacturing soft toys care is taken to see that the fibers from the soft toy do not irritate the eyes, throat or nasal passages of the baby. For plastic toys due care is taken to see that virgin plastic is used. Babies are prone to putting almost everything they handle in their mouth. Hence, care is taken to see that the materials used do not contain carcinogens that may harm the baby if accidentally ingested.

Sounds & Colors No one can stay unmoved at the happy gurgling sound that babies make when they spot bright colored toys that make those cute tinkling sounds. It is a great joy for the parents when they see toys evince such spontaneous response from the baby.

Teething woes Baby rattlers and soothers are also effective to calm an agitated baby especially when the baby is teething. These when cooled in the refrigerator are especially soothing for a baby’s gums.

Bathing fun Bath toys are a lot of fun in the tub for the baby in order to distract him when he is averse to being soaped.

Activity centers and baby gyms Watching a baby cycle away while trying to reach an activity center with podgy hands and feet is an undiluted joy for which honestly, there is no substitute. These and other crib toys can be placed over the crib, hung on the side rails or even on the floor. Baby toys are indeed a source of great joy to your bundle of joy.

Baby care

The care of a baby is very important for its growth and development. The care of a baby should be done both professionally and gently. The amount of care that is given to a baby greatly reflects in the later stages of a person’s life. It builds the basic character of a person. Therefore complete care should be given to a baby. All its needs should be fulfilled emotionally, physically and mentally. If complete care is not taken of the baby, the baby may not grow up to be a healthy person or the person can have various disorders in his later life.

A baby is very delicate. Almost anything and every thing have a great impact on the baby. How a baby grows up is greatly influenced by its surroundings and the people around him. The first and the foremost thing that should be noted is that the baby should be kept in a safe and secure environment. This means that if should be not too humid or damn as the baby might catch a cold. It should also be free from sharp objects. The lesser the medicines or antibiotics that are given to the baby the better it is.

The baby should be given a massage regularly. A regular message helps the bones of the baby to grow and set properly. It also helps in the growth of the baby and the development of strong bones. With a proper massage everyday, the baby will in no time be able to walk on its own acquiring balance and stability on its legs. The baby should be always kept in clean and dry diapers. This is to avoid rashes and infections. Also a baby in clean diapers will be happy and healthy.

One of the most important parts of baby care is breast feeding. A mother’s milk is the best source of nourishment for human babies. There is no substitute for mother’s milk in the diet of humans. Also many experts agree that breast feeding has many physiological effects on the baby. Therefore proper breast feeding of the baby is a must. The infant for the first two years of his life must be breast fed properly for a healthy growth of the child. Also breastfeeding passes on many anti bodies on the child’s body. This helps the child develop a strong immune system and combat many diseases that might affect it effectively. Also breast feeding strengthens that bond between a mother and her baby.

When the child is a little older a feeding bottle can be used to feed the child. Essentially a feeding bottle is used to feed baby milk. It should be held in proper angles so that the milk can flow down effectively from the bottle. The teat of the bottle must at all definite times be kept clean and sterilized. If possible a new teat should be used every time while feeding the baby although some babies might find adjusting to a new teat all the time uncomfortable.
Attention should be paid to the nature of the baby and care should be taken to ensure its proper growth. A good care of the baby is the very basic of good parenting.

Frugal Baby

How can I be frugal and have everything baby needs?

Good question! I think the key is to identify what babies truly need. The advertisers would have you believe that baby needs fancy expensive "stuff" that will keep you in debt until baby's in college. Not true. Babies need very little in order to be happy. And those things are, in order of importance:

A Momma to love

Nutritious food

To be kept warm

Something to cover their bottoms

Pretty simple eh?

Free Food for Baby

"The newborn baby has only three demands. They are warmth in the arms of its mother, food from her breasts, and security in the knowledge of her presence. Breastfeeding satisfies all three." - Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, author of Childbirth Without Fear.

The interesting thing about the first 3 is that they can all be met at the same time with breastfeeding! You can't get much more frugal than free can you?

Not only does breastfeeding save you money that you would have spent on formula, bottles and such, but you will save money on Doctor bills. Formula feeding carries risks: Increased ear infections, respiratory illness, increased incidence of certain cancers, long term implications for obesity, diabetes, and I could go on.

Baby Clothes

My best tip for obtaining baby clothes frugally is to make it known that you welcome hand-me-downs. Most Moms hate throwing away perfectly good baby stuff. When babies are young, they almost never wear things out before they are outgrown. If someone gives you things, accept it gratefully and thank them. Even if the stuff isn't as good as you would like and you end up donating it to charity, you still send a message that you aren't too proud for used things. And truly, it has nothing to do with charity. Obtaining used things is better for the environment. And you can put the money you save to better use. Why not start a savings account for your little one and add to it when you use creative frugality to save money? Your child will thank you later!

EBay, thrift stores and consignment shops are also good places to find baby clothes frugally.

Experts agree that babies don't really need shoes when they're learning to walk because it's best for their toes to grip the floor. If it's cold and baby's tootsies are frozen, use soft leather baby shoes. They're flexible and the healthiest, safest choice.

Saving Money On Diapers

The most frugal way of dealing with this issue is to forgo diapers altogether the way women around the world do. It's called "elimination communication" and basically involves watching for baby's elimination cues (and they do exist, even in newborns) and holding her over the potty so she can take care of business. However, if you're not so inclined, the next best thing is cloth diapers.

Ask people to give you cloth diapers at your baby shower instead of those cute but impractical outfits. A lot of the cloth diaper companies that sell online have baby registries. Buy the high quality cloth diapers if you plan on using them for more than one child. They will likely last you for years. I recommend Fuzzi Bunz.

More Frugal Baby Ideas

Frugality is mostly about what you don't buy than what you do, so I suggest thinking about what you can do without. Do you really need a crib or bassinet? Why not let baby sleep with you? It works for 90% of the population. Do you need a baby swing? Why not wear baby on your body in a sling? It promotes bonding, keeps baby happy, you burn extra calories and get things done too! Everybody wins. :)

Does baby really need those educational toys and gadgets? You know, Einstein didn't have flash cards. All the stimulation your baby needs is you! Talk to baby, read to baby, sing to baby, let baby watch your daily activities from his spot in the baby sling, and breastfeed your baby.

The best baby toys are things you have around the house. (Ever noticed how babies and toddlers would rather play with your keys than any expensive toy?) Babies would rather bang on pots and pans with wooden spoons than just about anything else. Save empty plastic food containers that would have been thrown away, and toss them into an empty cabinet down low in your kitchen. This will provide hours of frugal fun for baby!

One exception:

Baby car seats are best obtained new...don't risk taking a chance on a used car seat that "looks" fine but that may have been involved in a fender bender.

Baby's needs are truly few, and the best things you can give your baby are free.

Baby Carriers

George McCulloch Home Family/Parenting 2008-04-07

Baby Carriers Slings These are made of fabric and are available in a wide variety of styles. They "sling" sash-style over your shoulder to hold baby in front of you. Slings offer many benefits to both baby and parent. Here are some of the most commonly cited by experienced sling-users: A sling is perfect for the newborn months, when Baby needs to be held often in your arms, as opposed to being pushed at arm’s length in a stroller. A sling is an excellent way to carry your baby around the house because it keeps your baby happy while leaving your two arms free to go about your daily tasks. Sling carriers are multi-purpose. You can use them to carry your baby, to create privacy for breastfeeding, and to cover your sleeping baby. Some feature a tail that can double as a blanket or cover up. Putting your baby into (and getting him back out of) a sling is easy. You can even get a sleeping baby in and out of one of these soft carriers without waking her. You can carry your baby in a variety of positions. Slings are small, lightweight and easy to transport. Slings are wonderful to use when a stroller would be inconvenient, such as up stairs, through large crowds or narrow aisle ways, or over rough terrain or when you’ll be going in and out of the car frequently. Slings put your baby at the height of people’s faces instead of at their knees. You can use a sling right up through toddlerhood, when little legs get tired of walking. An important note about baby slings: They can be confusing to use at first, and your baby can slide out of the bottom if not positioned correctly. Try to find an experienced sling-user to help you master the art of baby slinging. Front packs Front pack carriers are similar to slings in use but are more complex in their structure. They have a seat that attaches to the front of you with straps that crisscross behind you; these straps secure the carrier to your body. Here’s what you need to know about front packs: The benefits of front packs are similar to many of those of slings, such as their light weight and portability, and the fact that you can carry your baby while keeping your arms and hands free. Some allow you to choose between carrying your baby facing inward toward you or outward, facing the world – which is often fun for older babies. Settling the baby into and out of the carrier require more steps than a sling does. Moving a sleeping baby into or out of the carrier is difficult, unless the seat unbuckles separately from the harness. Front packs are better suited to a baby who is strong enough to hold his head upright. Backpacks A back carrier is similar to a camping backpack. It has a seat for your baby that attaches to your back with a frame and straps that cross over your shoulders. A few things to know about backpacks: They’re perfect for an older baby who loves to look around and be carried high on your shoulders. Many backpacks have pouches for holding supplies. Some models have a canopy for inclement weather or sun protection. Getting a backpack off (and putting it on) are typically two-person tasks. Backpacks are best for an older baby who can sit up well. They’re great for an all-day trip, such as hiking, shopping or visiting an amusement park How do you decide which carrier to use? No single baby carriers perfect for all parents. Every parent has different needs, preferences and proportions. Many people actually begin with one type of carrier and move on to another when their babies get older. First, think about how you plan to use a carrier. Will you use it primarily at home, instead of a stroller while away from home, or both? Do you already have a stroller, or must your carrier fill all your baby-carrying needs? Defining its purpose will help you choose which carrier is best for you. This is also an excellent idea for parents who blanch at the thought of their tiny newborn being passed around the room from person to person! Points to consider when purchasing a carrier: Comfort. Does the carrier feel good to you? Fit for your baby. Does it seem to suit your baby well? Fit for you. Does it fit your size and body type? Can you carry the baby without strain? Safety. Will the baby be secure and well supported? Features. Does it meet your needs? Usability. Can you easily get your baby in and out of the carrier? How about putting it on and taking it off keep in mind that some models require practice. Construction. Does the fabric suit your wardrobe, climate and needs (i.e., lightweight for summer, weatherproof for outdoor use)? Care. Is it machine-washable or easy to wipe clean? Flexibility. Can you carry your baby in various positions? Adjustability. Can it be tightened or adjusted to fit you when you are at home in indoor clothing or outside wearing a coat? Can you adjust it easily for use by others? Adaptability. Will it work for your baby now as well as six months from now? Appearance. Do you like the style? Will you enjoy wearing it?

Baby Language

Alvaro Castilo Home Family/Parenting 2008-03-16

Most parents wish that their baby would grow up without crying. But remember that without crying your baby will not be able to communicate anything with you. Accept the fact that crying is a way of developing the baby language. Especially, in the first six months, babies cry to communicate their needs. As a parent, you cannot always tell, but many mothers in due course will be able to recognize their baby's needs from the type of cry. The most common reason for babies to cry is hunger. But there are many more common reasons for them to cry too. If your baby cries after a feed, do not jump to the conclusion that the feed was inadequate; instead look for probable reasons other than hunger. Babies cry to express their needs as they cannot communicate otherwise. Given below are the various reasons for which a child/baby cries. As a parent it is important to comprehend the baby language i.e. the reason of cry.

Some common reasons are:

Hunger: In the early part of their lives, babies may need to be fed at short intervals, sometimes in even less than two hours. Frequent feeding will help and over time your baby will space out his/her feeds.

Thirst: Usually not seen in breast-fed babies, but can happen to bottle fed babies, more so in summer.

Diaper-change: If the diapers are left on too long, it can cause painful and uncomfortable rashes. Frequent changing of diapers can prevent these troubles.

Too hot, too cold: Since babies are unable to change their clothes or uncover themselves on their own, they will cry to let you know that they are uncomfortable. The proper way is to feel your baby's body. If it feels cool, add a blanket. If he/she is sweaty or hot, remove a layer of clothing.

Uncomfortable clothes or positioning: Check to see if there is anything poking your baby like a price tag or a piece of Velcro. Change his/her clothes or give him/her some time being naked or swaddled in a warm blanket. Also, change his/her position of sleep. If he/she is lying on the back put him/her on his/her back.

Bowel movements: Some babies will cry, scream and get pink in the face just before passing urine or bowel movement. Once they are done they will be okay.

Anxiety and fear: Sudden movements and loud noises can trigger crying. Be gentle with your baby.

Boredom: Babies who are bored cry to get your attention. Picking up your baby and interacting with him/her can put a quick end to the crying spell.

Tiredness: Babies always don't know that they need to sleep when they're tired. It's your job to calm them down for naptime, not stimulate them.

Sometimes you and your baby can get into a crying cycle. When babies cry, you get anxious and start panicking. Your baby senses this, feels uncomfortable and cries even more. If you find yourself getting into these cycles, talk to your doctor. A sick baby will cry, but will also have other symptoms of illness like runny nose, fever, tugging the ear or diarrhea. Generally a healthy baby will have a strong, loud cry. If your baby's cry becomes weak, contact your doctor right away.

Crying is almost synonymous to baby language. A child primarily expresses it's emotions by crying, making sounds, laughing etc. In the initial stages, it is no cakewalk for a parent to comprehend their child's needs. But with passage of time, the message is communicated effectively and it is an important step in bonding between a parent and child.

Baby Acne

What is Baby Acne

It is accepted that Acne is part of growing up

for teenagers and and even young adults, the body

changes and as we get older the surge of hormones

all contribute to the likelyhood of acne breaking

out. However, as many new parents are discovering

it is possible for a new born baby to show signs

of acne and although many parents would either

discount it or ignore the problem until diagnosed

by a doctor it is actually quite common.

Signs to look out for :

It usually takes the form of small white pimples

or whiteheads on the babys face, forhead chin or

cheeks and tends to be aggrevated by the baby's

dribbling, or when they bring up formula and milk.

it is essential to be aware that detergent used

for washing your baby'd clothes can also be a

cause of baby acne however If the skin which is

infected looks red and scaly it is possible that

it could be another condition commonly known as

eczema.

Root Causes

Studies have shown that Baby acne can possibly

be attrfibuted too hormones just like teenagers

and youg adults, however the hormone is passed

from the mother whilst the child is in the womb.

There are also tests being carried out to

determine whether or not the medications which

are administered to the baby could cause acne,

however, despite the ongoing studies it is still

not fully understood.

Treatment

Baby acne is usually short lived and invariably

lasts less than a month, however if you feel that

it is not clearing up or if it is lasted more

than twelve weeks it is advisable to spak with

your doctor or clinic. I is also reccomended that

you don't try to apply medication yourself as the

cream and medicines which are primarely aimed at

older sufferes could actually make the condition

worse. The baby's skin is extremely sensitive and

will allmost certainly react badly to the creams

and oils and could cause the baby acute

discomfort.

It is recommended that the baby isnt overly

washed as it can easily make the condition worse.

The best way is to try and wash the baby's face

once a day with a very mild baby soap and warm

water. Try to stop yoursef fro scrubbing the

effected area and pat it dry with a soft cotton

towel. Baby acne is not caused by grease or dirt

as in teenagers so you need to be patient with

baby acne and the problem will gradually

dissapear. The fact is that babies dont have the

same hang ups as adults and if it is cared for it

will go away as quickly as it appeared.

Baby 101

Having a baby is always something to look forward to. It is especially exciting for first-time parents, however, it is understandable that first-time moms have a few hundred questions they need answered when it comes to taking care of their children. When he cries uncontrollably in the middle of the night and refuses milk or any other pacifier, would you know what’s wrong with him?

Fortunately, there are baby experts who can help every parent get through their anxiety of whether or not they are raising their baby well. When in doubt, consult your pediatrician, turn to friends, your own mother, and baby books to help you understand your baby. Bear in mind that the helpful advices you get are just suggestions, instinctively as a parent, you will know whether to follow some of the advice you’ve been receiving or not.

1. When your baby cries don’t think twice about going to him and either getting him or caressing him. If he is hungry, he will welcome your milk or his bottle. If he isn’t, try burping him maybe he feels irritated because of a full stomach or he has gas. You can also try laying him on his stomach and slowly rub his back; this will soothe him and put him to sleep.

2. Read to your child before bedtime from newborn up. With a newborn, you might find yourself reading to a sleeping baby since they sleep most of the time, however reading to him even when he is already sleeping will remind him later on about the soothing effect of your voice. He will learn to associate reading before bedtime with sleeping.

3. Start him on a schedule as early and as much as possible. Getting him used to a routine will help him recognize the daily activities the two of you will be doing from feeding to play time to nap time. Let his body clock tell him what it’s time for so you won’t have a hard time with bathing, feeding and such once he reaches his terrible two’s age.

4. Make a variation of his food. Feeding him the same pureed vegetable or fruit over and over will likely result in him eating very little if at all. You can check the internet for baby recipes if you’re stumped on what else to feed him. You can try pureeing a cooked meat dish like casserole or stewed beef.

5. Never leave your baby in the playpen or crib unattended. You might think that a crib or playpen is heaven sent because you can leave your baby for awhile to give you a little free time to finish your other chores but, crib accidents are one of the topmost reasons for babies getting hurt.

He can get tangled up in the playpen’s material or his head could get stuck in the crib. Put him within plain sight of you or put him in his stroller where you can take him with you wherever part of the house you’re at. Baby Teething

When your baby s first tooth appears it's a big milestone. But teething can also be a painful and frustrating time for many babies, as well as their parents! Knowing what to anticipate when your child is teething, and what you can do to help, can make the process a little easier for both of you.

Each baby reacts to teething differently. Some experience a painless process with little discomfort. Their teeth just spring up without any problems. The first that you know of them is when they smile or when you hear them clink on a spoon. Others find teething painful and upsetting, making them grumpy for weeks and unsettling their sleeping and feeding habits.

Symptoms your baby may be teething

* swollen ridges on gums for some time before teeth actually arrive.

* irritable or fretful

* dribbling and dribble rashes

* chewing and biting on everything, putting his hands in his mouth

* red cheeks or ears

* some babies may nurse more for comfort, others may refuse to feed

* out bowel motions (not diarrhoea), which may cause nappy rash

* your once ideal sleeper may wake often during peak teething times and be hard to resettle

Babies often get sick with coughs and colds or diarrhoea during their first few years of life. Although they might happen at the same time as teeth coming through, they re not caused by teething. If you re worried about your child s health, take your baby to see a doctor.

Then the First Tooth Becomes Visible

Your child s baby teeth will start popping through the gums as early as three months. In rare cases, babies are even born with teeth.

The teeth usually come through in upper and lower pairs, often starting with the two bottom front teeth (central incisors), but the order may vary. The four upper teeth (central and lateral incisors) then the bottom lateral incisors usually follow. The first molars, or back teeth, come next, then the pointy top eye teeth. Most children will have all their 20 deciduous teeth by the time they re three.

Auckland paediatric dentist Nina Vasan says you can start looking after your baby s pearly whites before the first tooth shows up by wiping his gums daily with a clean, damp washcloth or gauze. Once teeth spring up, clean them with a smear of junior toothpaste on a damp cloth.

At around one, move on to a toothbrush with a small head, soft bristles and a handle that s easy to hold. Don t worry if your baby just sucks on the paste or chews on the brush to begin with as it will get him used to having a toothbrush in his mouth.

Nina Vasan says the easiest way to brush your child s teeth is to get him to sit on your lap or a chair and brush from behind or get him to lie down on the floor or couch. Have him spit the toothpaste out and don t rinse afterwards. Don t let your child swallow or eat toothpaste as too much fluoride can be dangerous. Always store the toothpaste out of reach. As soon as a couple of teeth touch together, try to floss your child s teeth. Get him to lie down while you do it.

By the time all your child s teeth are through, you should be brushing them at least twice a day, and especially after meals. You can expect your toddler to brush his own teeth from the age of three, but you must continue to supervise children until they re around eight. Enrol your child by age one with a school dental clinic.

Baby Feeding

Something that can scare any parent, going to the pediatrician and finding out your son has loss 13 ounces! 4 days after the birth we went to our first pediatric visit and found out this news. The doctor explained that this was like one of us losing 30 lbs in that timeframe. We were told to come back the next day for another weigh-in and that if he did not gain any weight our son would go to the hospital. So we started using a supplement as the doctor suggested after breast feeding to ensure our baby would get enough to eat. The next day was very trying for us as we were both tense and upset. My wife made sure that every two hours we fed and topped off with supplement while she pumped afterwards to make sure she got every last drop. My wife was in tears feeling that our son did not love her or as though she was not able to provide as a good mother. This was upsetting to me too since I did not wish to see my baby son loose weight or to see my wife in tears. We made an appointment with the lactation consultant at the hospital that day and got lessons on how to properly use all our equipment natural and otherwise for our baby. We also read through some very helpfull books that let in on the fact that a mothers milk does not always come in full force right away, which might have been nice to know prior to leaving the hospital considering we are first time parents, after all the weight loss might have been avoided alltogether. Feeling we had a better grasp on how to feed our baby we continued feeding anticipating our next visit and its result. Our next visit weigh-in showed that in one day he gained back 9 ounces that he had loss. So we continue on with what we have learned.

So my son will be three months old in a couple of days, and is growing bigger and bigger each day. So while feeding we noticed that more and more often he would drink till he puked. Now our doctor mentioned that he should be fine on just milk or formula till his 4 month visit. But I believe a lesson is to be learned at doctors advice and parents intuition. I know when I puke after eating its one of three things; I was drinking too much, I got food poisining, or more probable in relation to my sons problem, I ate too much too fast because I was really hungry. Now of course this makes sense and people could argue that a baby doesn't know when hes drinking to fast, true, however, a baby does know when he is not getting enough food. So I did some reading around on the good old www and found that the subject of when to introduce food to a baby in their formula etc. is a very debated topic, with each person quoting different information from their doctors. I suppose the doctors all went to different medical schools, or, more than likely the idea of when to introduce food is highly subjective to the doctors own opinion. So if anyone reading this is questioning whether or not to introduce food to their babies formula/milk, go with your gut because you probably know the right answer. Currently the way I've introduced the cereal is that I took the rice cereal ran it through my coffee grinder until it was a poweder and I add 1 teaspoon of this to an 8 oz bottle. Since introducing this his eating till he pukes has subsided, he is hungry less often, apx every 3 hours or so, and sleeps longer through the night.

Baby Shower

Offering gifts at baby showers represents an age old tradition, but those gifts don t have to be generic or thoughtless. Find unique shower gifts which demonstrate your special relationship, and make an effort to pamper the expecting mother. Offering a mother support as she celebrates her pending arrival can be the greatest gift of all.

Baby showers are truly a blessing. Not only does the expectant mother have an opportunity to be surrounded by well-wishers, but friends have a chance to celebrate with the mother-to-be as well as share advice and gifts. Showers are a wonderful time to help new parents fulfill their wish list for practical items, but generic baby staple items should not make up the preponderance of baby shower gifts.

Something Special

Everyone loves a unique gift. Gifts that reflect the thought and knowledge of an individual are much more meaningful than gift items which are generic or even, at times, requested. Certainly new babies require many things, but there is no reason those items must stand alone at a shower. To show a young mother how much you care, find a unique gift for her little one that truly reflects her personality.

Perhaps a humorous outfit or luxurious, faux fur blanket would be especially meaningful. To give an extremely practical gift, such as diapers, find a special way to do so. Diaper cakes have surged in popularity as they are so beautiful and functional. A gift that shows the bond between the young mother and yourself is also entirely appropriate. For instance, a special outfit might have a butterfly or frog that has special significance to the two of you. For additional gift ideas, spend time on luxury baby item websites.

Pamper the Parents

While showers are a prime opportunity to help soon-to-be parents stock up on baby essentials, the party is also the perfect time to help pamper the expectant mother and frazzled father. Pregnancy is extremely draining, and most mothers simply don t take the time to relax and revel in the miracle of the life inside them. In addition to your baby gift, you might consider a gift especially for mom or dad.

Beauty items, such as pregnancy skin care, might offer an expecting mother a chance to primp and glow. While some mothers avoid taking hot baths during pregnancy, there are many other bath items such as pedicure or manicure sets as well as lotions and shower gels that might lift a tired mother s spirits. Of course, pregnant women should generally avoid alcohol, so wine is not suitable, but decadent chocolates or teas are not off-limits. In general, anything that will offer the young mother a chance to relax and enjoy herself, however briefly, will be much appreciated.

Expectant fathers should certainly not be left out of the festivities. Often new fathers endure as much stress as the expectant mother, and should be offered gifts to demonstrate their importance to the growing family. Dad pads, the male equivalent of a diaper bag, or educational toys which can be as much fun for the grown boy in the house as the newborn one make the perfect thoughtful gesture for Dad. Find Dadpads and other ideal gifts for the new father at www.spiffybaby.com.

Support

While gifts are wonderful and certainly appreciated, a shower is a party to honor the expectant mother, and sometimes father. The time at a shower is best spent creating warm memories, sharing tales, and perhaps advice. Simply offering support to a mother as she takes a moment to celebrate the life inside is the most important gift of all.

Baby Colic

Chris Meek Home Family/Parenting 2007-11-19

I've been a stay at home dad now for a while and have seen lots of changes and challenges with our baby son. In the past 4+ weeks one of those challenges has been my sons crying. Its extremely frustrating as a parent to have a baby that cries frequently, but even more so when there is no apparent reason for the crying.

Even more frustrating can be the strain this puts on the parents relationship. Normally I consider myself a very patient and rational person, it is what has made me successful as a manager in my career. However, I found myself becoming very short tempered and all around an unpleasant person to be around. To make matters worse my wife could not understand my frustrations, or didn't appear to anyway, and consistently made comments about my ill-temper, sometimes calling me a butt head which only infuriated me further. So on that note, Moms and Dads if your spouse is having similar troubles with a crying baby, I'll give you a hint on what it is that I finally realized I needed from my wife during this time. I felt that my ill temper was mis-understood, and considering I was unable to cope with the crying or do something about it I was a bad parent and that my bad mood made me a poor spouse as well. This only makes matters worse, and looking back I wasn't a bad parent and found that I was doing everything a father should do. What I needed from my wife wasn't a miracle, I needed her to acknowledge, even though she may not understand where my feelings were coming from, that I was having a difficult time dealing with the incessant crying, not to call me names or judge me. I needed her to listen to what I was saying. Now everyone has a breaking point and one day I did. I called my wife and told her that the crying was just not right nor normal. I read all over the Internet that when your baby cries to just hold them and comfort them, but I questioned the logic of doing so when you took care of all the babies needs and the crying persisted for hours. It didn't make sense to me to put myself through this and get angry and upset from the noise and the inability to calm or meet the babies needs. Many sites with similar questions about what to do with a crying baby had various parents seemingly scorning them for not knowing how to take care of their baby and not just holding and comforting them, ignoring the fact that these were good parents and they had. That only makes it more frustrating when you read the same thing over and over, you begin to question your parenting and if you are a fit Mom or Dad. So I asked my wife to get us an appointment with our pediatrician.

So the next morning we went to the pediatrician and when asked what the visit was for, I explained the reason of persistent crying. The doctor asked about times and duration and if the baby seemed to have gas or not and then examined our babies health. Turning to his intern Doctor he asked so what does that sound like to you? And very quickly he said colic. Not even realizing it their was a pattern to his crying, about 45 minutes after waking up my son would cry for an hour and a half, then nap. then repeated itself after his nap but this time it would be for about 3 hours, then nap. then he would be good for a couple hours and start again until bed time. He was sleeping through the night though. So colic is by my understanding simply a condition when a healthy baby cries without any discernible reason and usually during a specific period of the day.

My next question to the doctor and the one that I had while searching through the Internet was, So now that I know what is wrong with my son, how do I as a parent handle it? The Doctor laughed a little and said, When you have done all the normal things to help comfort and sooth your baby; feed, change the diaper, hold them, and try to comfort them, you need to let the baby cry and remove yourself from the area and go to another room and simply check on him every 15 minutes or so and ensure once again all his needs are met and if so and the crying persists leave once again for another 15 minutes and repeat. He stated that holding him was only going to cause me to get frustrated and that good parents do can do bad things under these circumstances. He also stated that with a colicky baby holding him would not do him any good and when checking on him you would re-enforce the idea that you are there to help him and comfort him and ensure needs his needs are met but that staying was not necessary and inadvisable for both our sakes. Now what a relief to my I'm not a bad Dad! I told my wife what the Doctor had said and I believe for the first time she actually understood what I was going through. That understanding and the Doctors advice has made the situation more bearable for both myself and my son. I'm once again the patient good natured person I once was and enjoy the times that we are together.

One lesson I learned from this experience is that if something seems overwhelming and abnormal to you, you should see your Doctor and get his advice professional opinion, to diagnose the problem and let him advise you as to changes to be made or if what you are experiencing is normal. Just knowing where you stand in your unique situation with your son or daughter will make it that more bearable.

Baby Bedding, Baby Blankets,

When making the certitude as to what baby bedding to buy make loyal the safety of your baby is one of the major considerations for what bedding you want. Babies arent upset about colour or whether their playgroup has been garlanded with the newest designs but it is important when selecting your baby bedding that the hold is made with safety in beware.

Your early hold of baby bedding will be for your babys crib.

Baby bedding for a crib, like baby clothes and many other effects in the playgroup, will be a tiny designate hold as a crib is not right for babies who can sit or subtract themselves up. From around 6 months of age you will be looking to move your baby from crib to cot.

The begins of hasty Cot fall Syndrome arent commonly known but it is thought that in some luggage baby bedding can be a contributing dynamic.

Take for example baby pillows and duvets, it is recommended that baby pillows and duvets do not form part of your baby bedding when your baby (under 1 year) is in his cot as they could begin suffocation.

There are differing opinions with baby blankets with many mothers choosing to move away from baby blankets and instead opting for grindable blankets or catnap flatters. The universal idea being that a baby can become tangled in a blanket and maybe throttle but not in something that they physically grind.

Baby bedding can be a certainly fun hold with some absolutely pleasing little baby bedding sets around. If you want your babys playgroup to look good then you can forever buy baby bedding for decorative purposes only and subtract any unsafe bedding when the cot is in use.

You can now buy gorgeous little catnaping bags for newborn babies, instead of traditional baby bedding, but if you are with them you want to make loyal your baby doesnt get too hot and some babies find catnaping bags too constricting.

If you finish to use a catnaping bag as your baby bedding only use one that hysterics the total of your baby (safety mealoyal to relegate the peril of SIDS).

The upside of the more traditional baby bedding, yarn pages and blankets, is that you can more certainly curb your babys temperature by adding and removing layers to flatter.

As with baby clothes, you want to go for baby bedding that is enduring.

The extent of time it is mandatory may be tiny but the total of grind your baby bedding will get while it is in use is considerable. Make loyal all the baby bedding you buy is robot washable and good trait.

Buy sufficient sets of baby bedding to support your washing regular and go for equipment that will flatter the temperature of your house.

Polyester blankets for example may ascertain to be too hot for your baby in a cheerful house and acrylic cellular blankets are best flattered to a cold span. yarn is commonly a good pick.

As a universal baby bedding show, for a cheerful span of around 75 degrees C you will only want a only page and for every decline of 5 degrees C you will want to add a baby blanket.

However every baby is different so never make an assumption, forever make loyal your baby is neither too hot nor too cold.

Baby Names

The name was one of the words that always was had each object. That was the symbol or the identity where humankind could identify available objects around it. By the name, someone could distinguish an object from the other object, or between himself from matters that not himself.

In a name was contained by a collection information about the identity of the person who had him, whether that gender, the ethnic group, the identity, the religion, the background of the family, the philosophy of life, the social status, the culture, and other. Although not including all this information, a name must contain minimal an information about the identity himself.

The Yenni Rinni name for example, the person who had this name must be a woman, religious Islam, his parents possibly obeyed performed religious duties, was born in January, and other. Likewise by the name of Alesandro Lucatelli, Mike Tyson, Jacky Chan, Abdullah bin Idrisi Al-western, and other. In this name must have one or two matters that informed the identity of his owner. A retorts questions from Juliet "What is the meaning in a name?" like William Shakespeare said in romeo and Juliet novel. That is not true if a name is not important.

The fact is, the name not only as the identity himself, more again, the name could form the feeling of the self-confidence even the concept himself someone. There was the person who was not confident in socializing, or blamed their parents because of the problem of the name. They feel clumsy with their name. although that name had good meaning, only because of a little countrified. When introducing himself in seminar, when a called a doctor in waiting room, when visiting in home. When called their friends in beehive, usually become a bad moment and less reassure. When we have to call our name, usually that name often to indistinct or just call just our behind name.

There are some criteria when we give name to our baby :

1. The name of the child must have the good meaning. Good him the meaning of a name could be caused because inside was contained by the prayer, praise, and hope from parents.

2. The name of the child must have the sweet value of the sound, rhythmic, aesthetic, sweet, so as to be glad being heard.

3. The name must reflect the aspect gentle and feminine.

4. The name of the child preferably reflected something that was monumental. As the love reflection, the name of the child could be the blend between the name of his two parents, setting when he was born, or the impressive incident.

Basically, the good name was the name that broadcaster the values of the life. He was the harmonious blend of the meaning that in and the high value of literature. He must contain the prayer and holy hope, stimulated fighting spirit that produced the love in the truth, to motivate his owner to become the moral human being again noble learned.

For that already had the not more beautiful and more insignificant name, do not be sad, heeded and significance your name with the noble moral. For that indeed his name has been beautiful, then increasingly beautified him with the noble moral also. great baby boy girl names.

Baby Bloomers

Here is an idea for an excellent cheap propagating table, which is at a good comfortable height for people with physical problems like arthritis. This can be put together by anyone out of cheap second-hand and or new materials, to suit yourself.

What you will need:

1 x Second hand baby change table, (one with pockets on the sides and a shelf under is best). Make sure it is good and steady on it's legs.

1 x Board (ply, chipboard or timber), it really does not matter. As long as it is strong enough to support the weight of plants, pots, potting mix etc.

1 x plastic sheet (purchased by the length or a plastic painters drop sheet or even a cheap shower curtain will work. Whichever works best for you)

Set Up:

Set the table up in a shady area within easy access of the back door and a good water supply. Wrap the board in the plastic. Then put the board over the table. This should be set up out of weather to preserve the table and board. Sometimes it may be necessary to secure the board to the table with screws or clips or something. But do not secure the board too well, as you will need to change the plastic sheet every so often.

The plastic sheet/shower curtain assists in keeping the table and board from getting wet and also makes cleaning up the mess easier. This is because hygiene is important when working with babies of any sort, including young plants.

The reason for getting a change table with pockets, is to use the pockets for scissors, labels, pens, tie wire, seed packets, hand tools etc. These pockets are usually at a good convenient height to work at the table.

While having a table with a shelf underneath is good for positioning fertilisers, spare pots, peat, potting mix etc.

This is a good place to set up, organise and keep all those items you have stacked away in various parts of the home or shed. Because when you keep everything together in one place, it takes away half of the work you would have to do in propagating plants, as there is no setting up and putting away of everything after you have finished.

This is a good project or present idea, for family members of frail or disabled gardeners to assist them in continuing with their hobby and love of gardening.

So now there is no excuse for not getting out there and propagating or potting up to your hearts content.
