There are plenty of ways to define what self improvement means and there are thousands of perceptions about self improvement. For some, it may be a way to get rise in payments and for others, it may be a way to get the popularity among the friends and society. However, self improvement is a set of logical steps to improve you in any domain of life. Self improvement differs for everyone as their perspective and goals are different. Self-improvement is nothing but to know ourselves better and discover the inner and positive talents. |

Self employment and self improvement go hand in hand to some degree or another. It is fair to say (though not always true) that self employment could lead to a state of self improvement in the long term. Plenty of people hold the dream of working on there own account but for many it remains just that, a dream. With so much to worry about such as no job security it is little wonder that most budding business owners give up before they even get started. Unfortunately for many others there is little choice in the matter. They make up the numbers of the ever growing masses that are pushed out of full time work due to company buy outs and sizedowns or whatever trendy label they give them these days. These are the people who have had the rudest of awakenings from their corporate slumber to realize that there are no jobs for life and no one is safe from the hatchet man. For these guys its more a case of self employment or no employment. Having said that, many of them now swear its the best thing that ever happened to them because they discovered who they truly are. They have then gone on to travel the road of self improvement realizing that there is more to life than work and that you can have anything you want if you dream hard enough. They will tell you that they now spend more time with their families doing the things that are important to them. Its a strange culture that we have evolved into since the industrial revolution where everyone seems to think that they are somehow entitled to a job. That employment is a God given right and that someone out there actually owes them a living. If there are no jobs it must be the governments fault or the powers to be. Yep that's it, it must be someone else's fault that they don't have a job so they will sit around and wait until whoever is in charge does something about it. Then of course there is the other camp. They see the world in a completely different light altogether. To them the world is their work place. I am not just talking about high flying business executives here either but ordinary Joe's and Jane's with manual skills and talents that they sell to whoever needs them. These are the guys who make up the real ranks of the self employed. Their lives are a work in progress and self improvement is the bi product of their labours. These people chose when they work and where they do it. They are the true masters of their own destinies and not only their lives but the lives of those around them are enriched by this style of living. They don't rely on a huge corporation to pay their check every month or jump when they tell them to. They take their vacation when it suits them and if they need time of to be with their families they don't have to scrape or grovel to some boss. These are the pioneers of this new frontier, the frontier of the self employed and self improved. |

Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success. |

Are you like many people who venture in the self improvement journey? Are you also one of the many who quit at the first obstacle you encounter? Many people want to improve their lives in many areas; however they are not willing to stick to the path. They let fear stop them and they end up giving up and settling for what life gives them.
If you have ever studied any successful person you will notice that they all have utilized self improvement in their journey to success. You too can begin your self improvement journey today and begin achieving huge quantum leap experiences in your life. No one is going to be able to help you on your path. You can be given a road map; which I highly suggest you get your hands on. However it will be up to you to stick to it and do whatever it takes to achieve what you are wanting. There are certain qualities that you will require to work on in order for you to be able to stick to your self improvement journey. One of them being persistence; without it you will not be able to accomplish anything. It requires persistence in order to overcome any obstacle that you are going to encounter. Yes most likely you will encounter some sort of obstacle on the path to your goals. If you think you are just going to write down your goals and then they will manifest overnight then you really need to do some more study on how the law of attraction works. Nothing good happens overnight without any effort on your part. However if you are willing to pay the price to achieve whatever you desire; you can be do have anything. The mistake people make when they begin their self improvement journey is that they do it for a short time and then they quit. It is not a one time thing, or even a one year thing. It becomes a way of life and you learn to make it a daily habit to utilize what you learn everyday. Develop new habits and you will change your life. Take the time to invest in your self improvement journey and you will be way ahead of the game than most people. People tend to complain that things are not going the way they would like it to. They are unhappy with many areas of their lives: relationships, financial, personal, career or whatever else they complain about. Yet they do not take the time to realize that they are in the situation; because they put themselves in and they have no one to blame except themselves. They like to put the blame on others. We must learn how to stop blaming others and learn how to take control for our actions. Your self improvement journey will teach you how to take control of your life. Once you learn how to accept the fact that you are responsible for everything in your life today; you have achieved a lot more than others. Yes you will have no more excuses and you will have no one to blame; except the image staring back at you from your bedroom mirror. You will also realize that you are very powerful and you can begin changing anything in your life today. | 6 | Kaizen For Self Improvement |

What does Kaizen, a Japanese method of production excellence and industrial efficiency have to do with self improvement? Can it be adapted to self-work? What is it, anyhow? It began with the "continuous improvement" theories of efficiency expert W. Edwards Deming in the 30s and 40s. After the war the ideas were picked up by the Japanese and developed into "Kaizen," a method for creating quality products efficiently through many small and continuous changes. This is perfect for self-improvement, as Robert Maurer explains in his book "One Small Step Change Your Life:" "Your brain is programmed to resist change, but by taking small steps, you effectively rewire your nervous system so that is does the following: * Bypasses the fight or flight response. * Creates new connections between neurons so thet the brain entusiastically takes over the process of change and you progress rapidly towards your goal." Kaizen is an alternative for those who have a hard time facing major changes, like quitting smoking all at once. For something like that, the kaizen way might be to stop smoking in your car, as the first small step. Then you could switch to a brand with less nicotine, stop smoking in the house, and so on. An important technique used in kaizen is asking "small questions." In factories this meant no more questions like "What are you going to do to improve the company profits this year?" That just elicits more fear than creative ideas. A better question might be, "What small change could we make in your department to reduce expenses (or improve quality)?" This approach was found to be far more productive. For purposes of self improvement, this means asking small suggestive questions of yourself, like, "What could I do to free up five minutes for my meditation practice?" or "What small change could I make if I wanted to improve my relationships today?" Small questions tend to dispell the fear and intimidation that come with frontally facing the whole issue. Small questions, along with small, comfortable changes is the first important principle of kaizen. The second is to make the process a continual one. Just imagine where you'd be if you had consciously made one small change in your life each week for the last few years. Even better, imagine where you'll be a few years from now, if you start the process today. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step." - Lao Tzu |

The first grader Perhaps the example of children in grade school will help us to understand this. These children in the first grade do not reject themselves because they are not in a higher grade, or because they do not know as much, or are not as capable as those children in the higher grades. They accept themselves as they are, and are happy with themselves with their present level of abilities and knowledge. Yet, no child would accept remaining in the same grade the next year or year after year. In the same way, there is no conflict between accepting and feeling comfortable with our temporarily limited abilities and lower level of conscious and our need to continue growing. It is natural to accept and love ourselves at his present stage of growth while we simultaneously attend to learning, evolving and improving ourselves. Growth is a natural instinctual need. Scientists have discovered that when a person learns something new, this creates the excretion of endorphins and other positively reinforcing chemicals in the brain. Natural learning brings pleasure, when it is not connected to fear of rejection and failure. Other motives for action and growth are love and creativity. We need to love and to create, just as we need to sleep and eat. These are basic needs, even if they are more sophisticated or higher-order needs than the physical needs of sleeping and eating. Two broken legs If we know someone who has two broken legs and is unable to carry out his or her responsibilities or be very productive or creative, we automatically understand that they cannot do more than what they are doing, because they have two broken legs. What we fail to understand is that many of people who we perceive as lazy, irresponsible or negative and even immoral have in fact two of their "emotional legs" broken. They have seriously impaired emotional legs of inner security and feelings of self-worth. Their insecurity and feelings of self-doubt cause them to behave in negative ways. We, too, might be such persons who have had their inner strength handicapped by negative life experiences. Self-acceptance does not mean that we fail to recognize and admit our mistakes. It simply means that we realize that we are worthy of love even though we are not perfect and have much to improve. The same is true of others, they too are worthy of our love even thought they make mistakes and need to improve themselves. Half-finished paintings An incomplete painting is not yet in its perfected form. It is in the process of being perfected, of being completed. We know and accept that it is not completed, not perfect and that it can be and will be much more than it presently is. We do not reject the painting because it is not yet what it will be. We do not say that it is wrong or unacceptable. We simply perceive it as incomplete and we attend to the process of completing it. Let us then imagine that our and others' personalities are half-finished paintings. Let us perceive the general state of the society and world around as a painting in progress. We can see there are many weaknesses, faults and aspects to be improved in those paintings. But they are what they can and should be for their present incomplete state. A painting must pass through a series of stages until it is finally completed. Each of these stages is a perfect part of that process of completion. No stage could be skipped or avoided. You and I and all around us are "perfect" at every stage of that process of completion. Even our imperfections are a perfect temporary part of our movement towards perfection. When we perceive ourselves and others as unfinished paintings, we will have patience and understanding for our common weaknesses and faults. We will perceive them as parts of our being that need to be worked on in the process of manifesting our perfect being. All others are equally in a process of perfecting their unfinished paintings. The bud and the flower A flower bud does not yet manifest its latent beauty. Yet we do not reject, criticize or condemn it. We realize that it is in a process of maturing and that it is what it needs to be now in order to become the flower which it is destined to be. We accept it is as it is and wait patiently for its blossoming. In the same way, we need to perceive ourselves and others as: 1. Paintings in the process of completing ourselves. We all deserve love and respect exactly as we are. Our life purpose, however, is to attend to the process of evolution and self-perfection until we blossom into the magnificent and totally conscientious and loving beings that we are destined to be. Self-improvement and Personal Development is not brain surgery; all you've to do to alter your life is to follow these simple tips and advice.
Self Improvement advice # 1: One key to self-improvement is to LISTEN and TALK to a trusted friend. Get somebody who you feel comfort in opening up with even the most gentle matters you desire to talk about. Ask him questions like:
"do you believe I'm ill-mannered?"
"Do I always sound so argumentative?"
"Do I talk too loud?"
"Does my breath smell?"
"Do I ever bore you when were together?".... In this manner, the other person will plainly think that you're interested in the process of self- improvement, Personal development and growth. Listen to his comments and criticisms and don’t give him replies like "Don’t overdo! That’s simply the way I am!" Open up your mind and heart also. And reciprocally, you might need to assist your friend with constructive criticism that will also assist him to better him self. Self Improvement advice # 2: Start Building up your self confidence, Never think of yourself as a failure, always think Positive. For Example, while Watching Tv commercial when you see those models with gorgeous physical appearances, Instead of feeling sorry for your self, think more on self- improvement and self esteem. Self Improvement advice # 3: Always Believe in inner beauty rather then physical appearance. Outer body is not so important to make some one good. it will fade with time but the inner beauty will grow richer. Self Improvement advice # 4: Always Help other people any way possible and try to bring smiles to people face especially When they find them so down and low about themselves, help them rise up on their feet. Do not sink with them. They will pull you in down more and both of you will wind up experiencing deficient. Self Improvement advice # 5: Learn from your mistakes (very important and crucial for self-improvement and personal development and growth). We are human we make mistake but we never repeat the mistakes twice. So learn form your mistakes. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed on a science quiz. There’s always a next time. Make rooms for self-improvement and development Self Improvement advice # 6: Self-improvement is a one day at a time process. So go slow and do one thing at a time. you cant ride two boat and one time - Right? Self Improvement advice # 7: The biggest advantage of self-improvement is that it always results to internal stableness, personal development and improvement, personality growth and your success. it comes from self-assurance, self-admiration and self-respect. Self Improvement advice # 8: Always set goals for your self, meaningful and achievable goals. Setting meaningful and achievable goals for your life is important for improvement and development. It gives you the motivation you need every single morning. Self-improvement hopes and aims to result to an improved and sounder YOU. Self Improvement advice # 9: Be Nice to Other peoples, greet them and make good compliments about them. Small things mean great to other people. When we’re being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them. Self Improvement advice # 10: When you are conformable to accept changes, improvement and development in your life and go through the process of self-improvement, it does not mean that everybody else is also on the track of improvement and personal development. The world is a place where you will find people of different values and attitude. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, he would most probably refuse an invitation for self-improvement. Self Improvement advice # 11: Before ordering other people some manner on self-improvement self esteem or how to develop themselves, let them see that you yourself is a representation and a product of self-improvement. Self improvement creates us improve people, we then inspire other people, and so the rest of the humanity will follow. Self Improvement advice # 12: Quit considering yourselves as second-rate human beings. Bury the repetitive thought of "If only I was richer... if only I was thinner" and so on. Accepting your true self is the initiative to self-improvement personal development and growth. We should stop doing comparison of ourselves to others simply to discover at the end that we’ve found ten additional reasons to envy them. Self Improvement advice # 13: We should better always think that there’s no such thing as ‘over night success’. Its always a tremendous feeling to hang on to the things that you already have now, realizing that those are just one of the things you once longed-for. Self Improvement advice # 14: A very nice quote says that "once the pupil is prepare, the instructor will come out." We're all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, schoolteachers, admirers/friends, fellow worker, officemates, neighbors... they're our instructors. When we open our doors for self improvement and personal development, we increase our opportunities to head to the road of success. Nobody is perfect, and self-improvement and personal development is an ongoing journey. Self- improvement and personal development is everyone's goal. So keep walking on the path of self-improvement, personal growth and development which will surely build your self esteem.

Self hypnosis is great as a tool for self improvement. When you learn self hypnosis, you may end up surprised at how easy it is to master, and at the same time it makes so many things so much easier.
Most people connect self hypnosis with listening to an audio file that is made for a specific subject such as stop smoking, loose weight etc. etc. And I admit there is a lot of that floating around out there, but even though it may do the job in a lot of cases, this kind of self hypnosis for self improvement is made in ways that may not be best for every single individual. To take an example, if you have a phobia and the self hypnosis mp3 or whatever it is, talks you towards what you fear, it could be an elevator ride to bring you down, it will end up not being able to create the needed relaxation, because you will be on edge just by the elevator being mentioned. So how do you use hypnosis or self hypnosis for self improvement? To achieve any kind of self improvement the self hypnosis session you go thru, should address and eliminate the negatives connected with what you want to achieve, and preferably create positives instead. So to get the best kind of self hypnosis it should be designed individually for every person to benefit most from it. In fact you would be best of if you created the session yourself. That way you would have a self hypnosis session created exactly around the issues you wish to change, or self improve if you like, designed around the exact phrases that have meaning to you. So to sum it up, you need to do self hypnosis on your own, in order to really accomplish lasting changes in your life. Below here is a short overview of how you create and execute a self hypnosis session: 1. Create a list of goals ordered from the most important to the lesser important goals, and make sure to phrase goals that are measurable. 2. Make suggestions for yourself towards your subconscious mind, make them specific instructions on how to achieve each goal. 3. Make sure you sit in a place where you will not be disturbed, and work on relaxing yourself, mind, body and soul... Imagine that with every breath you take in relaxation, and breathe out the worries and tensions of the day. 4. When you feel really deeply relaxed say out loud the hypnotic induction, tailored to you getting deeper and deeper relaxed, at some point you may forget to keep saying them to yourself, and that is ok, it means you are deeply relaxed, and ready to induce the positive suggestions from step 2. 5. Start repeating out loud, think, or play a pretailored sound file repeating your positive suggestions over and over for about 5 minutes minimum. Try to do these 5 steps regularly, preferably you should do self hypnosis daily at the same time interval for best results. After a couple of weeks measure your results towards your goals, and if you are not moving forward, rephrase the positive suggestions in order for you to keep moving forward towards your self improvement goals. If you really want to learn self hypnosis to the core, you should buy a self hypnosis book that explains and guides you through the process. I can strongly recommend The Ultimate Self hypnosis Course, it is thorough and comprehensive on the subject, and it will help you in achieving self improvement with self hypnosis. When we think of self improvement, we automatically think of learning some esoteric and foreign discipline that we'll require years to master and also require that we go to a very remote part of the earth and start meditating, fasting and possibly shaving our head in order to create the perfect environment for the healing energies to easily enter our body. That is far from the truth my friend. Self improvement as many experts agree can start with a simple thing and gradually move towards more complicated ones and finally to mastery. You can start your journey towards self improvement by paying more attention to your partner and really look into what you can do to improve your relationship. Take your partner out for dinner and start paying more attention to him/her. Try to compliment him/her on how good he/she looks. Don't be shy to tell your partner that you are on a self improvement mission. Every time you explain to someone that you are on a mission specially self improvement they will do everything they can to help you out. You will start to see result from your effort almost immediatly. Now that you are already on your path to self improvement, you may go ahead and also improve your relationship with your parents, your brothers and sisters and eventually you can even improve your relationship with your friends and neighbours. At some point in time during your self improvement journey, you'll be exposed to things like Reiki, advanced energy work, Auric clearing and other disciplines from Maharishi University. Know that the learning curve should be gradual and your inner voice or your guardian angel will guide you toward the path that is good for you. Energy healing for example is said to work where modern medecine has failed, as a matter of fact, I read a very good book by Dr Eric Pearl, called the reconnection and it teaches you how to heal others and heal yourself. A very key point about self improvement is the spiritual growth. At this level of development, you'll want to achieve mastery of self by developing your potential and searching for meaning, the meaning of life for instance. Start your journey like a child who is born into this world to learn. Don't be too obsessed with one particular thing. All the answers will be revealed to you in due time. |

So how do you stay calm, composed and maintain self esteem in a tough environment? Here are some tips you may to consider as a starter guide to self improvement.
Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These points will destroy your self esteem and pull you down in ways you will not even remember. Do not let them destroy you, or get the best of you. So which points should you avoid? a) Negative Work Environment, beware of “dog eat dog” theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. This is where non-appreciative people usually thrive. No one will appreciate your contributions even if you miss lunch and dinner, and stay up late. Most of the time you get to work too much without getting help from people concerned. Stay out of this, it will ruin your self esteem. Competition is at stake anywhere. Be healthy enough to compete, but in a healthy competition that is. b) Other People’s Behavior, bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers... all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme. c) Changing Environment, you cannot be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it. d) Past Experience, it is okay to cry and say “ouch!” when we experience pain. But do not let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson. e) Negative World View, look at what you are looking at. Do not wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations. f) Determination Theory, the way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it does not mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other people’s experience, so you will never have to encounter the same mistakes. Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO. Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God would not come down from heaven and tell you, “George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.” In life, it is hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. When we get to the battle field, we should choose the right luggage to bring and armors to use, and pick those that are bullet proof. Life’s options give us arrays of more options. Along the battle, we will get hit and bruised. And wearing a bullet proof armor ideally means ‘self change’. The kind of change which comes from within. Voluntarily. Armor or Self Change changes 3 things: our attitude, our behavior and our way of thinking. Building self esteem will eventually lead to self improvement if we start to become responsible for who we are, what we have and what we do. It is like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. When we develop self esteem, we take control of our mission, values and discipline. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination. So how do you start putting up the building blocks of self esteem? Be positive. Be contented and happy. Be appreciative. Never miss an opportunity to compliment. A positive way of living will help you build self esteem, your starter guide to self improvement. Self improvement and success go hand in hand. You can not have one without the other. Kind of like oreo cookies, you can not really eat them without milk. Well self improvement is a vital key in order to achieve success in any area of your life.
Do you know that self improvement is such a huge industry in the United States? People all over are trying to improve some area of their lives. That is why when you walk into a bookstore; the self improvement books are the biggest section. People are attempting to lose weight, make more money, improve their relationships. You name it I am sure you can find some kind of self improvement book on it. However I believe that weight loss is the biggest area that people are attempting to conquer. People spend millions of dollars on weight loss products of all kinds. They are attempting to change their life from the outside in. They do not realize that in order to change something in your life you must first change from the inside out. Yes this sounds kind of funny to the thousands of people who do not understand anything about personal development. You must be happy with yourself on the inside. When we look at a certain object, a painting for example – we won't be able to appreciate what's in it, what is painted and what else goes with it if the painting is just an inch away from our face. But if we try to take it a little further, we'll have a clearer vision of the whole art work. We reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and a whole bunch of information that will help us unlock our self improvement power. Until then, something can be staring us right under our nose but we don't see it. The only time we think of unlocking our self improvement power is when everything got worse. Take the frog principle for example – Try placing Frog A in a pot of boiling water. What happens? He twerps! He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate sudden change in his environment – the water's temperature. Then try Frog B: place him in a luke warm water, then turn the gas stove on. Wait til the water reaches a certain boiling point. Frog B then thinks "Ooh... it's a bit warm in here". People are like Frog B in general. Today, Anna thinks Carl hates her. Tomorrow, Patrick walks up to her and told her he hates her. Anna stays the same and doesn't mind her what her friends says. The next day, she learned that Kim and John also abhors her. Anna doesn't realize at once the importance and the need for self improvement until the entire community hates her. We learn our lessons when we experience pain. We finally see the warning signs and signals when things get rough and tough. When do we realize that we need to change diets? When none of our jeans and shirts would fit us. When do we stop eating candies and chocolates? When all of our teeth have fallen out. When do we realize that we need to stop smoking? When our lungs have gone bad. When do we pray and ask for help? When we realize that we're gonna die tomorrow. The only time most of us ever learn about unlocking our self improvement power is when the whole world is crashing and falling apart. We think and feel this way because it is not easy to change. But change becomes more painful when we ignore it. Change will happen, like it or hate it. At one point or another, we are all going to experience different turning points in our life – and we are all going to eventually unlock our self improvement power not because the world says so, not because our friends are nagging us, but because we realized its for our own good. Happy people don't just accept change, they embrace it. Now, you don't have to feel a tremendous heat before realizing the need for self improvement. Unlocking your self improvement power means unlocking yourself up in the cage of thought that says "its just the way I am". It is such a poor excuse for people who fear and resist change. Most of us program our minds like computers. Jen repeatedly tells everyone that she doesn't have the guts to be around groups of people. She heard her mom, her dad, her sister, her teacher tell the same things about her to other people. Over the years, that is what Jen believes. She believes its her story. And what happens? Every time a great crowd would troop over their house, in school, and in the community – she tends to step back, shy away and lock herself up in a room. Jen didn't only believe in her story, she lived it. Jen has to realize that she is not what she is in her story. Instead of having her story post around her face for everyone to remember, she has to have the spirit and show people "I am an important person and I should be treated accordingly!" Self improvement may not be everybody's favorite word, but if we look at things from a different point of view, we might have greater chances of enjoying the whole process instead of counting the days until we are fully improved. Three sessions in a week at the gym would result in a healthier life, reading books instead of looking at porn will shape up a more profound knowledge, going out with friends and peers will help you take a step back from work and unwind. And just when you are enjoying the whole process of unlocking your self improvement power, you'll realize that you're beginning to take things light and become happy. |

Most people shudder when they hear the word 'hypnosis'. They relate the word to a situation where a hypnotist gets to make people, who are plucked from a show audience, to do all sorts of stupid things like clucking and strutting around like a chicken. Most people are quite afraid of the prospect of being under the control of another person and so they are reluctant to be hypnotized.
You can however control your own hypnosis and through self hypnosis you can help yourself in so many ways. For example self hypnosis can help you stop smoking, stop binge eating, can also help you control outbreaks of depression and it can also assist with your memory improvement. Memory improvement through self hypnosis can be achieved by breaking down the mental blockages that are hindering you from adequately remembering things. First off you must master the art of self hypnosis. Then, once you are able to engage in self hypnosis you will be able to control a wide variety of problem areas and can go about correcting them (including your memory capabilities). There are various DVDs, videos and audio tapes that are able to purchase that can guide you through the process of self hypnosis. They vary in content but generally they will give you a step by step instruction in the art of relaxation which is one of the keys to mastering self hypnosis. Once you are in a relaxed state you will then be able to direct your subconscious to improve your memory. Take Yourself Into A State Of Total Relaxation If you would like to trial the process before going out and buying DVDs or manuals on the subject here is a simple way to try self hypnosis. To start the process of memory improvement through self hypnosis, firstly you must close your eyes and relax your body completely. You should breathe deeply and methodically until your heart beat slows. If you are having trouble relaxing, why not imagine that you can control each and every part of your body. You tell each individual part of your body to relax beginning with your toes all the way to your head. Once you feel that you are in a relaxed state, count down backwards from twenty to zero. It helps to imagine you are standing at the top of a staircase and each time you count you see yourself walking down the staircase. By the time you reach zero and you have reached the bottom of the staircase you should be in a strong enough trance to begin working on your memory improvement through self hypnosis. Commanding Yourself You can begin to improve your memory by self hypnosis once you are in a completely relaxed and hypnotic state. All you really have to do is repeat to yourself that you want to improve your memory. You instruct your mind that whenever you hear or read something you will have no problem retrieving that information when you need to. You can also tell yourself that all of the blockages you are experiencing which contribute to keeping you from remembering things will dissolve away. This is a great way to improve your memory and it really works When you engage in self hypnosis and you begin speaking to yourself, you are speaking to your subconscious. This is how hypnotists are able to get you to do things you normally would not do because they are able to access your subconscious mind. For self hypnosis to be most effective you must truly believe that it is possible to use self hypnosis in a positive and helpful way and believe that it works. This belief and acceptance are the most important steps in this entire process. Once you master the art of self hypnosis and start to apply it on a regular basis you will begin to remember more than you ever imagined possible. So why not lie down, close your eyes, breathe rhythmically and begin your journey of memory improvement through self hypnosis now. So how do you stay calm, composed and maintain self esteem in a tough environment? Here are some tips you may to consider as a starter guide to self improvement. Imagine yourself as a Dart Board. Everything and everyone else around you may become Dart Pins, at one point or another. These dart pins will destroy your self esteem and pull you down in ways you won’t even remember. Don’t let them destroy you, or get the best of you. So which dart pins should you avoid? Dart Pin #1 : Negative Work Environment Beware of “dog eat dog” theory where everyone else is fighting just to get ahead. Dart Pin #2: Other People’s Behavior Bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, people walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, exploders, patronizers, sluffers... all these kinds of people will pose bad vibes for your self esteem, as well as to your self improvement scheme. Dart Pin #3: Changing Environment You can’t be a green bug on a brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way we think. Changes will make life difficult for awhile, it may cause stress but it will help us find ways to improve our selves. Change will be there forever, we must be susceptible to it. Dart Pin #4: Past Experience It’s okay to cry and say “ouch!” when we experience pain. But don’t let pain transform itself into fear. It might grab you by the tail and swing you around. Treat each failure and mistake as a lesson. Dart Pin #5: Negative World View Look at what you’re looking at. Don’t wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. In building self esteem, we must learn how to make the best out of worst situations. Dart Pin #6: Determination Theory The way you are and your behavioral traits is said to be a mixed end product of your inherited traits (genetics), your upbringing (psychic), and your environmental surroundings such as your spouse, the company, the economy or your circle of friends. You have your own identity. If your father is a failure, it doesn’t mean you have to be a failure too. Learn from other people’s experience, so you’ll never have to encounter the same mistakes. Sometimes, you may want to wonder if some people are born leaders or positive thinkers. NO. Being positive, and staying positive is a choice. Building self esteem and drawing lines for self improvement is a choice, not a rule or a talent. God wouldn’t come down from heaven and tell you – “George, you may now have the permission to build self esteem and improve your self.” In life, its hard to stay tough specially when things and people around you keep pulling you down. Its like a flame that should gradually spread like a brush fire from inside and out. |
