Do you believe in luck or in fate? I believe in opportunities coming my way. I believe in God bringing people and situations into my life because I have prayed and am expecting those kinds of things to happen on a regular basis. But do I believe in luck and fate? No. You hear people say, "Boy, look what happened to him, he sure is lucky." They think that if they were "that lucky" then good things would happen to them too. So, then the reason that good things don't come their way is simple. They're just not lucky. Isn't that a lousy rationalization? Not to mention, it takes no responsibility for your life! Other times you hear things like, "That was really wonderful what happened to her; I'm sure that it was just meant to be. It's fate, you know." But that is the same rationale all over again using different words! So, people conclude that reason things aren't going well for them is because they just weren't meant to be. It's fate. But what about accountability and responsibility for ones own life? Surprisingly, many people see being successful as a matter of luck and fate. And that of course takes away any accountability and responsibility. Others even put the blame on God by saying, "Well if God wants me to be successful then He will make it happen for me." So the reason they're not successful is because God doesn't want them to be? That contradicts scores of His promises clearly recorded in the Bible. I do believe in God helping because He promised He would. He promised He would answer prayers, and He promised He would help. So, the question is not, "Will He?" but rather, "Are you ready?" Now that may sound silly. But, many people miss opportunities that are almost literally dropped in their lap. Why? They miss them because they are not ready. Instead of anticipating, expecting, looking forward to something, knowing that there is something coming, they just accept and settle for the way things are right now. As they go through each day, their attitude is simply trying to get through another one so that they can go home and relax. That's not living, that is just existing! Very few people prepare themselves for something bigger. Their focus stays on the daily grind and all their problems, but never on the possibilities. They won't read books, they won't investigate new ideas, and they won't talk to other people. They just stay in their little world. And sad, but true, many, many opportunities pass right by them. I wrote an article over a year ago entitled, "Fate." In it, I said the following: "The Creator gave each and every one of us free will to choose. Each one of us can decide what we want to believe and what we want to do. And, with His help, there's really no limit to what we can accomplish." If anything is really "meant to be," it is that God wants us successful and blessed with the life that we want to live. He has lovingly provided all that we need. But, He also gave us free will to choose. If we want to, we can accept "fate," or, we can choose to make our own life the way we want it to be by believing His promises and acting on them. You are in life today where you are because of what you have believed and accepted as true. You can change your circumstances by changing your thinking. You can choose to focus on the things that you desire instead of settling for the way things are now. The only other choice is to accept fate. If you accept fate, well then, good luck. You'll need it! Instead of buying into the whole "luck and fate" fiasco, why not expect good solid opportunities to come your way? Believe and trust God to bring people and situations into your life because you pray and because you are expecting those kinds of things to happen to you on a regular basis. Throw luck and fate out the window. Take responsibility for your life and expect great things from God!

Title: Feng Shui for 2008
An Ancient Chinese saying goes as such: “First Fate, Second Luck, Third Feng Shui” This phrase means that a person's destiny is first influenced by first the "Fate", second the "Luck" and third the "Feng Shui" positioning. Thus the close relationship between the studies of fate and the feng shui positioning is obvious and cannot be separated. According to the Feng Shui theory of Flying Stars, that there are a total of 9 stars whose locations flies around each year. This article presents a very general guide and is not to be meant to be comprehensive. To do a comprehensive forecast, you need your birthdate to be analysed as well, together with the Feng Shui of your place. In the year of the Rat/Mouse 2008, the eight different Feng Shui positions are as follows: North (Inauspicious) The North is where the Grand Duke (i.e. "Tai Sui") is located and faces directly opposite to a location of extreme bad fortune and is advisable to stay away from this direction. If your main door faces the North, always keep your door closed and keep your front door clean and tidy. South (Inauspicious) The South is where the extremely unlucky star 5 flies to in 2008. As this is the most inauspicious star, I would like to highlight the important feng shui tips to take note: Important Feng Shui Tips to Remember! * If your door faces South, do not make major decisions for this year. If you need to, take extra precautions, be extra meticulous. * Avoid keeping the door open, if it is facing South, * Avoid keeping the windows open, if they are facing South. * The area of your place or office facing South should be clutter free. Bad Chi can get trapped among the clutter and start to spread to your home or office. * Avoid using anything that is red in color in this area. If your door is red in color, try re-painting to a shiny metallic color such as silver or gold. The metal energy of such colors would help to reduce the harmful energy of the number 5 star (which is earth element). * If you like to use Chinese ornaments, you can hang six Chinese coins (strung together). This method is said to help reduce the Bad Energy but does NOT dispel the Bad Energy. For further details on the tips on this matter, go to subscribe my email tips at http://www.fengshui-do-it.com Someone asked me whether she can cook if her kitchen is in the South. The answer: YES! The unlucky star 5’s negative energy is only felt when it’s infront of a door or window. So, if your kitchen windows open to the South, keep it closed. Open it only when necessary, e.g. when cooking. East (Auspicious) East is where the fortune star 8 flies to in 2008. If it is possible, place the office working table facing the East direction to receive the good luck. However, do not “force” it. You have to take note that working table must placed in a practical position. Best position is always against a wall and facing the door or window. f your main door faces East, 2008 is a year of good luck for you. If you have thinking about investment, this is the time of do so as the wind is in your wings… However, do take note that this good luck only last for one year. West (Auspicious But…) The presence of the auspicious star in the West direction makes it one of the auspicious locations for the year and financial luck is especially good. However, the presence of the star 3 in the West location represents the clashing between the Wood and Metal elements. Thus, although it is an auspicious direction, it is not advisable to use it. NorthEast (Auspicious) Northeast is the location of the star 4 which represents the academic star. If you can, place your study table facing the North East or choose a North East room as your study. The academic luck is strong in this sector. Again, take note of the position of your study table. Never place it such that your back is facing the door. NorthWest (Normal:mix of good and bad) The Northwest direction will see star 2 which is an unlucky star associated with diseases, sickness and poor health. If your main door faces NW, take extra care on your health and for further details on the tips on this matter.always see the doctor regardless of what illness. Even if it’s a simple cold, go to the doctor to get your full medications. Do not wait as the unlucky star will cause it to aggravate faster than usual. Thankfully, in 2008, the Northwest sector also has lucky stars which is expected to reduce the negative effect of unlucky star 2. South East (Normal) Star 9 flies to Southeast. The star 9 belongs to the Fire element and co-exists with star 4 (wood element) in this sector. The Wood element can complement with the Fire element and may be beneficial for studies. SouthWest (Inauspicious) Unlucky star 7 resides here for 2008. Star 7 is the unlucky for it the source of conflicts and arguments. Be careful and avoid getting into conflicts if your main door faces Southwest. =================================================== Toon Hwang ONG is the online Feng Shui enthusiast who has spend several years learning Feng Shui. Title: How to Be Lucky in Life
Fate favors the bold, the strong, insistent, consistent, and persistent person. You may say, “Well, then, how does luck work?” Does it seem to you that there are people for whom everything just works out? You might ask, “Why doesn’t that ever happen to me?” Then again, maybe it does and you just don’t notice. As we look at all the luck that we have experienced in our lives, and remember all the lucky people that we have been privileged to associate with and learn from, it appears that there are some key principles used by all the lucky people we know. Opportunity Must Show Up! Some people say, “I need to have a great opportunity” or “That guy had a great opportunity show up.” But the fact of the matter is that opportunities are showing up all the time. One of the other things I teach is that opportunity is the only thing that is unlimited in business. Abraham Lincoln said, “If you prepare, opportunity must show up.” Get the Skills You’ve got to prepare for wealth, for happiness, for health, for friendship, for collegial relationships, and for your spiritual work. Whatever it is that you want to have in your life, you need to be prepared with skills. It has to do with whether or not you are prepared, if you have the skills and the goals, and the dreams and aspirations. Then all the things that are necessary to make it happen show up. We can really make our own fate by being bold. Boldness will create that fate, which will create that luck, if we are prepared, when we have that positive language, and if we associate with the right people.

Title: Do We Make Our Own Luck?
Luck in its specific definition, is directly related to fate. To be lucky, is to simply be in position of a fortuitous circumstance. Such circumstances are apparently brought about through some unknown property of the universe, which often places itself at our disposal, in the form of lucky charms, lucky wishes, lucky mascots etc. When luck happens upon us, then it is put down to fate. Our 'lucky number' came up and it was a fateful event that was meant to happen, it was 'written in the stars'. When someone wins the lottery we call them lucky, without realizing even in multi-million lotteries, which have millions of entrants, someone somewhere is statistically likely to win. So why bother calling it luck, when in reality it is just a statistical likelihood, that someone has to be a winner. Of course, for the millions of losers luck was apparently, not on their side. There are a 'million-and-one' supestitions that are supposed to be unlucky: crossing a black cat on the wrong side, the number thirteen, walking under a ladder (is that really bad luck, or is it really just asking for trouble?), smashing a mirror, putting shoes on a table, opening an umbrella indoors, the list goes on and on. What is so astounding about these apparently unlucky customs, is not that they are really unlucky, it is that grown adults, actually believe such nonsense in the first place. And why is luck so 'hit-and-miss'? ...It apparently doesn't even play favorites. In the UK, a convicted mugger won the lottery. Perhaps he had a 'lucky rabbits foot' on him at the time. The point is that luck has nothing to do with it, just about anyone is up to win the lottery and statistical probability does not care whether you are a a thief or a policeman. Of course those of us with more sense, tend to stay away from lotteries, realizing that winning odds are so pathetically poor, that you would be better of sticking the money in a jar each week or better still investing it. Then again, if you believe in luck, then nothing will keep you from buying that ticket each week... and who reading this, has their own set of 'lucky-numbers'. There are believe it or not, individuals in the World who even take the belief in luck to new heights of absurdity and have such a divergent fear of apparently unlucky phenomena, that one could call their passion for avoidance of such phenomena - phobic. There are people who are so fearful on 'Friday the 13th' that they will spend the day in bed. The foreboding of fear, in some individuals over unlucky 'signs of the universe', is of course instilled in them, through tradition and such beliefs are started in folklore, many of which are straight out of the Dark Ages and are passed on from generation to generation. The more reasonable among us, giggle at such nonsense and find such beliefs cringe-worthy. However, there is another definition of luck that can be summed up in the sentence: 'do you make your own luck'. What this really means is, that based on probability, if you do the right thing in relationship to what you are attempting to achieve, then sooner or later, you will hit a 'lucky home run'. Of course this has nothing to do with luck in the traditional sense, of believing in something based on folklore, it is just putting yourself in a position of likely probability, based on statistical likelihood. As a side note: Many individuals, when looking at statistics of probability, make a common error of misunderstanding. They assume for example, if one flips a coin and it comes up heads 70 times and tails 30 times, then statistical probability would predict that the next flip of the coin, is more likely to be in favor of tails than heads... This is erroneous, the flip of the coin will be a 50% likelihood for both heads and tails, on every flip of the coin, the coin has no memory of past statistics and the probability on each single flip of the coin never changes. So, luck in its common sense meaning, is of course nonsensical. There are no elements within the laws of physics that guide or determine human behavior based on luck. On the other hand, one can make one's own luck, based simply on repeating the correct actions, that would lead to a good statistical probability, of those events coming true. Title: Twenty Good Luck Quotes
Why good luck quotes? Perhaps you don't believe in luck, but you can see that some people have more good things happen to them. Whether you choose to call that luck or not, here is what some famous people have to say about the phenomenon. Those who have succeeded at anything and don't mention luck are kidding themselves. - Larry King Luck is believing you're lucky. - Tennessee Williams Everything in life is luck. - Donald Trump I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it. - Thomas Jefferson We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don't like? - Jean Cocteau When I work fourteen hours a day, seven days a week, I get lucky. - Dr. Armand Hammer The winds and waves are always on the side of the ablest navigators. - Edward Gibbon The day You decide to do it is your lucky day. - Japanese Proverb Luck is when opportunity knocks and you answer. - Author Unknown Be where the luck is. - Steven Scott Each misfortune you encounter will carry in it the seed of tomorrow's good luck. - Og Mandino Men of action are favored by the Goddess of luck. - George S. Clason In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity. - Albert Einstein Opportunity is missed by most because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas Edison If you view all the things that happen to you, both good and bad, as opportunities, then you operate out of a higher level of consciousness. - Les Brown Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish. - John Quincy Adams Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises. - Demosthenes If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right. - Henry Ford Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. - Seneca To this collection, I'll add my own good luck quote: Why argue about the source of luck or the meaning of the word when you can just go out and create your own share. The dictionary defines the word fate as, "The supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events," and "the inevitable events predestined by this force." It also says, "An event (or a course of events) that will inevitably happen in the future: the ultimate agency that predetermines the course of events." There are many phrases that talk about fate, like, "Don't tempt fate," or, "That was a twist of fate," or, "She deserves a better fate," or, "That will certainly seal his fate." In Greek mythology, "The Fates" were three goddesses who controlled human destiny! I say, "No thank you!" Fate is also described and referred to in other ways, like, "Well that was just meant to be", meaning that it was going to happen and that it was supposed to happen, and so that's why it happened. If you follow that logic you end up with the conclusion that whatever happens was meant to happen. But doesn't that take away all personal responsibility for your actions? Yes it does, and that's the point. Suppose I decide to have a sandwich for lunch. Is that fate? Was it meant to be? As I eat that sandwich, am I to think that eating this sandwich right now is what was supposed to have happened? Some would say, "Yes." But what if I took the bread out to make the sandwich, and then stopped and said, "Wait a minute - I think I'll have a salad instead." But the bread is already out and sitting there! Wasn't I meant to have a sandwich? Which one was meant to be, the sandwich or the salad? There are some who would say that I was meant to get the bread out first, and then I was meant to change and go with the salad. For those who think like that, everything is just meant to be. The problem with that kind of thinking and rationale is that it eliminates free will. It also eliminates any and all responsibility for your actions. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. No one is destined to be successful or destined to be a failure. Far too many people accept that their lives are dictated by fate. They say things like, "This is my lot in life; these are the cards that I've been dealt; I'm just a victim of circumstances and fate; this is all I can really expect in life." To all of that I say, "No, no, no!" How can a child of the Creator of the universe go through life accepting things as they are, thinking that he cannot change them and just accepting that this is the way things are supposed to be? Have you ever considered that if your "fate is sealed," you have no free will?! If you have no free will then it really doesn't matter what you do, good or bad, because it is not your fault. It's what was supposed to have happened. Are we all just robots? The Creator gave each and every one of us free will to choose. Each one of us can decide what we want to believe and what we want to do. And, with His help, there's really no limit to what we can accomplish. If anything is really "meant to be," it is that God wants us successful and blessed with the life that we have to live. He has lovingly provided all that we need. But, he also gave us free will to choose. If we want to, we can accept "fate," or, we can choose to believe to have a great life. You are in life today where you are because of what you have believed and accepted as true. You can change your circumstances by changing your thinking. You can choose to focus on the things that you do desire instead of settling for the way things are now. The only other choice is to accept fate. If you accept fate, well then, good luck. You'll need it! ------------------------ Michael A. Verdicchio is a husband, father, minister, and broadcaster. He has been the voice on numerous productions over the years. Title: Luck of the Irish?
March 17 is a day of Leprechauns, four leaf clovers, green beer and luck. Even if you are not Irish, it is a day to get caught up in the fun of it. Unfortunately, many Real Estate Professionals rely on this thing called luck to help them achieve their goals. In January I wrote an article called 13 Things I learned in 13.1 Miles. The response I received from that article was extraordinary. My friends and family were most impressed by the distance I ran, others were thankful for the analogies with three points really resonating with a lot of people: the Importance of Visualizing, Becoming a Student of the Game and Finding Your Own “Dog Beach.” I think the reason why these three kept coming up in responses to my article was that these three things are the keys to accomplishing anything in life. In order to reach a goal, any goal, I don’t care if it is running a marathon, making a six or seven figure income, having a wonderful relationship, or raising great kids, they all require going through the same process. I know it seems that sometimes people just “get lucky.” It seems as if business just comes their way, they have a great family and lack of money never seems to be an issue for them. I coach Real Estate Professionals everyday on breaking the cycle of relying on luck and implementing a system of creating their own destinies. I know, that if my clients… 1. Set clear goals and are able to visualize them 2. Become a student of the game by acquiring knowledge and setting up a plan to reach those goals 3. Have accountability with the small steps needed to work the plan, …they will be able to accomplish far more than they ever imagined possible. I believe it is important to plan and not to rely on a great life coming to you. Click here to get a Report called 14 Things to Creating a Business Plan You Can Use. If you would like more help in crating the life you want, you may want to look into my Five Year Business and Life Planning Guide. May you all have a fun day on March 17, eating corned beef on rye, toasting beer in an Irish Pub to the wonderful business and life you are creating for yourself! Cheers! Title: Things To Remember When Playing Online Texas Holdem Poker
Poker is a fantastic game. You can have fun and make money playing poker. Despite the general opinion, luck isn’t all, in poker the thing that matters the most is the skill of the player. The ones that rely on luck and only on luck will surely have problems when playing poker. To play it right you need to learn, to practice and you need inspiration. When it comes to online poker, the thing that makes it better than real life poker is the fact that you will really play against real players and not against the bank. Also, you don’t need sunglasses so the other players can’t read your cards, you can choose a table and start playing in a couple of minutes and why not, sometime there are promotional offers that need to be seen. The problem of online poker has been debated and categorized many times, and there are ups and downs as in any game. If we look we can find two reasons why online poker is worse that live poker. Firstly, you cannot see your opponents. If you are an addict player and have spent many many hours at the playing table, then you might prefer to be able to look into you opponents’ eyes, to analyze them and to take decisions accordingly, or simply to intimidate them this way. Secondly, the money won can’t be spent immediately. You have to wait a couple of days to actually see them because withdrawals are not done instantly. But, next to these two downs of online poker we can find so many other good things that we can even forget about these two. For example, no matter the time you feel like playing poker, be it in the middle of the night or early morning, you can always find a game to join. You can find even tournaments ready to start, like they were waiting for you or maybe you don’t have so much time to waste and then you can enter a ring online for no more than an hour or so. Online poker can be played as a practice, as lessons to beginners or to people with low limits and it is also perfect for shy people, which would clearly be in disadvantage on a live paying table. People don’t have to dress up to go and play poker anymore, they can play from their house at any time, even dressed in pajamas or while having breakfast. Online poker can be played at several tables at a time, if the player is experimented this could bring him much more money. No one has to tip the dealer when winning, because there is no dealer here. If you won enough or on the contrary you lost enough for the day, you can leave the table at any time, without having to worry about your reputation, as in real life poker. If you find it hard to distinguish the cards and often fail to see possible flushes, when playing online poker this problem disappears because you have the option to play four color card decks, some colors becoming blue and green, so every suit has now its own color.

Title: Good Luck on Demand
One of my associates at work would appear to be the luckiest man on the job. Things just seem to work out for him. Those who know him, describe him as lucky. Harry associates all the good things which happen to him as coming from being lucky. He believes these things to be random acts of good fortune he has no control over. Sometimes Harry even credits his dead son for looking out for him. Harry has no power or control over these events because he has given it away. He won't take responsibility for his luck. Most of us are like that, we won't accept the accountability of our own circumstances. We will judge and complain when luck does not come visiting, and we are envious of those who seem to have more luck than ourselves. The one obvious attribute of luck is it is always given to us. We have to rely on someone or something else to send us luck. We are not lucky when no one is giving us luck. Therefore, luck is unreliable and whimsical and relegated to the precious few. Luck, chance and good fortune are not as elusive at they may seem. No physical event can happen unless there is a thought behind it. Luck has intelligence driving it, and it does not come from external forces. There can never be a random event called luck because all aspects of spirit must be in agreement for any circumstance to manifest. You cannot give luck to me unless I desire it, or the outcome of the luck. At some point I must wish or desire a thing or an event to occur before luck can be created. Therefore all events are created by you, by your desire to have it happen. A lucky event is a manifestation of your desire to experience something. In fact, all the things you do are lucky events. The term "lucky" refers to obvious spectacular events which do not normally come into your awareness. You may win big time on a slot machine and call that luck. However, all you really did was to have a desire to win big, and then place yourself in the right place at the right time to experience it. This is most always done at a subconscious level, as one is not focusing on the details of the process, but allowing the outcome to manifest itself. Luck does not happen to us-we create the circumstances to demonstrate luck. We may experience luck in our awareness everyday once we understand we are creating it. Lucky events are created in order to manifest a desire-they are ordinary events given spotlight to an unenlightened mind. They are everyday natural occurrences blown out of proportion. People who are more knowing of a desired outcome will experience "luck" more often as they learn to use effectively the law of attraction. Waiting for luck is a waist of our time. Luck comes when we already know the outcome of any desire. While you wait for luck to come to you, you have given your power away to create it. You have given the power to someone else to create it for you, and you will be waiting for a very long time. The quickest way to experiencing your desires is to know you already have them. Know what you desire and you will experience it. Wait for an outcome and that is what you will experience-waiting. Wait for luck and it will not find you. Take responsibility for your power to create and you will experience luck, chance and good fortune everyday.

Title: Universal Law of Attraction
The universe may be full of mystery. Good luck happens to a lot of people, bad luck goes to unlikely people and fate seems to distribute good things randomly. Is success merely because of luck and fortune? Is it only because of hard work? Actually, for people who want prosperity and success, there is a universal law of attraction that is at work.
Prosperity, success and a good life is open to those who are receptive to them. Open buckets on the yard get water from heaven when the rain falls down. Those that are closed, of course, are empty. Even if you put a closed bucket beneath a generous faucet, it will remain empty because there is a barrier in
The universal laws of attraction works pretty much like an open bucket receiving rain from the sky. This law of attraction may also prove useful for you as go through your daily life. You have to check if you are an open bucket or a closed one. Do you think about negative things most of the time? Do you dream of something but feel that you cannot have it? Do you believe that you deserve the best and that the universe can give that to you?
Maybe you are a closed bucket right and you are not benefiting from the universal law of attraction. Slowly and surely, you have to tweak some of your thinking and open up your bucket. Habits that have long been inculcated in your system may be difficult to remove. Yet, if you are patient enough and persistent enough, you can open the lid and start
Making the Law of Attraction Work for Your Life
The universal law of attraction is simple and practical. It is not costly and there are no special rules. What you simply need to have is openness to what is beautiful and what is positive. By setting your expectation to what is good; you are attracting what is good in the universe. By thinking about good things and positive ideas, you attract positivity and goodness.
You are what you think you are. The thoughts that you have control the kind of actions that you do. Your actions, in turn, control the kinds of rewards that you have. If your thoughts are good, then your actions become good and you are rewarded with good things.
You will become what you believe you are. If these beliefs are negative, you could only suppose that you will reap negative results. If, however, you affirm yourself and your worth, then you slowly fit into the mold that you believe in. For the universal law of attraction to work in you, you have to let go of these negative beliefs about yourself and start being open to positive spirits and good things.
Be expectant of what is good. By believing that you deserve what is good, you are putting yourself in a position to receive these good things. Although, you become more open to positive spirit and to what is good, you also need to go where you can work for and attract fortune and luck. To maximize luck and fortune, you should also be willing to work. Given your work and your practice of the universal law of attraction, the flow of good things will not cease.
