We have heard this word time and again. Some people believe in it while others don’t. I personally have mixed views with regards this destiny thing.

They say that destiny is fate. It is when two people are really meant for each other. It is when something is really for you like maybe a promotion or a new found job. Destiny is when the happenings in your life are defined by predetermined events.

So here comes the confusing part. People always say that you determine your life. We were created to be rational beings to make decisions in life if we must. In everything that we do be it as simple as what to wear for work, what to eat for breakfast or may it be a life changing decision that involves choosing who to spend the rest of our life with, the decision lies solely in our very own hands. Our life is like a clean canvass. We decide the colors that go into the canvass. All the good and all the bad that has happened in our lives all have resulted from the decisions that we have made in our lives.

But then other people also say that every single event that has happened in our lives has already been arranged in this so called book of life and that this book contains all the events that are supposedly going to happen. Everything happens for a reason, the people we meet along the way, the happiness and joys we may have experience or is yet to experience, the sorrows and heartaches that have yet to dampen our spirits; all will happen at the proper place and the proper time when that supposedly moment or occasion is suppose to happen.

So I say to you now. If indeed everything in this world has been predetermined already then why are we given the free will to choose? Do you suppose that despite all the choices we may have made, no matter how hard we try to achieve something it’ll never be within our reach if it is not meant to be a part of our lives? Does our destiny change when we take another course of action, one that is not directed towards what is supposedly to happen? Is what was already written in your so called book of life going to be altered if we try not let destiny have its way?

There are so many questions and yet there is no sure shot answer. What matters most for me is that we live everyday of our lives to the fullest not waiting for destiny to come our way. I am not also saying that in one way or another I don’t believe in fate for there are really certain events in my life that I do think fate had something to do with. Just do our thing. Do what you think and feel is right. Everything will just fall into place.

A Word Fitly Spoken ~ Destiny

Title: A Word Fitly Spoken ~ Destiny
A Word Fitly Spoken ~ Destiny Brought to you by design twenty three & A Word Fitly Spoken

There is a destiny that makes us brothers: none goes his way alone: All that we send into the lives of others Comes back into our own. ~ Edwin Markham ~ American Poet 1852-1940

Destiny: Event or course of events that will inevitably happen in the future; the ultimate agency that predetermines the course of events; overall circumstances or condition in life including everything that happens to you ~ Webster's Unabridged Dictionary

Destiny is often portrayed and held as a banner of excellence associated with someone else's' life, but at times overlooked in our own life. Assumed, that unless extraordinary achievements are recognized with great accolades, our Destiny is not as important as others. This is not rue.

Destiny is nurtured in the quiet moments of reflection and in the raucous moments of decision. For Destiny like a seed is ready to germinate and shoot forth in its own time. It sometimes yells to be heard and other times like a soft breeze, stirs the sleeping soul. But nevertheless Destiny is there all the time and ready to shower it's radiant surprises upon us all.

Within life, Destiny can be as simple and heartwarming as apple pie. It can produce a force that glows within the heart one moment, to be not realized the next. That's Destiny. It marks your life whether young or old or in-between. Maybe in a dozen small moments and maybe in one grand moment. But Destiny works it's grace upon us all as the seconds of our life pass in all its choices.

If not seen of the many, it is beheld within one's heart. Destiny often draws like a magnet in directions unplanned, only chosen. But most often in a quiet way Destiny awaits your choices. Destiny awaits your time. Your purpose. Your heart.

Destiny is after all, your response to life and life's response to you!

Destiny: Can it be altered?

Lanie Pambid 2006-03-16
Title: Destiny: Can it be altered?
Everybody in this world has already encountered the word “destiny” and by all means it has been injected in people’s minds that it is beyond our control. Fortune tellers would say that your destiny can be seen through their crystal balls, palm reading, tarot cards and the like. But has it ever occurred to you that you make your own destiny?

Let us start with the definition of DESTINY. The dictionary meanings of destiny are:
1. Something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing; lot or fortune.
2. A predetermined course of events considered as something beyond human power or control:
3. The power or agency that determines the course of events.

When we say predetermined, it means that it is fixed and you cannot change it. But how did one person come up with the renowned line that says “You make your own destiny”. It only means that it is possible to break the chain that binds this destiny with your life. There are some things that we can never change, so maybe that’s where destiny comes in. But for instances or situations wherein you can do something about it, either make it better or make it worse that’s where destiny rests for while and let’s you take over. Let’s just say destiny is some kind of a creature that lurks into our daily lives making sure that everything is in place and in tact. We can say that destiny; no matter how you change it would still happen in one way or another. Destiny foretold can be anticipated especially when you do not approve of it. Let’s say for example you went to a fortune teller and had your palm read, and the fortune teller tells you something like getting pregnant out of wedlock, so what you do is to do every precaution that you know, like contraceptives, pills, etc. yet after a few years you still get pregnant. Now, that’s what destiny is. No matter how you do everything just so it wouldn’t happen, it still happens, but instead of using all these contraceptives, you should have just abstained from sex itself. So, by that way you were able to alter your destiny.

Do you think that our question has already been answered? Yes, Destiny can be altered. It depends on a person on how he handles the way he lives his life. Whatever happens, it is still you who holds the key to your own life. The consequences of what you do should have been thought of before you did it. That’s why we were given freewill. To make a choice on whether or not to do something that you know will have a consequence later. Our destiny has already been written in our lives; all we have to do is to work for it or do nothing. Everything in this world is up to you. Your decisions, your acts, it all depends on how you will choose it to be. If you chose to be this, because you don’t want to be like that, then that’s altering your destiny. It is all a matter of thinking and deciding for yourself. You make you own destiny that is a fact. Therefore destiny is an attachment of what you did in the past which is connected to what is happening in your present life.

What Is Destiny?

Peter Hansen 2006-11-20
Title: What Is Destiny?

You will keep on guiding me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny
-- Psalm 73:24

What is destiny? I believe that destiny is a thing between good choices and divine intervention. I deeply believe that God is in control and that He wants us to live life to the full and enjoy it.

He is a good God who wants the best for us. He knew about us when you and I were in the womb of our mother. There is a great purpose for your life - no doubt about it and you have your free will to choose. Isn’t that great?

Since the beginning of this world billions of people have had the ability to make their own choices. Some of them were bad, very bad and some of them were good. I believe that many of the things we see in our world today are a consequence of peoples’ choices. This might sound disturbing and worrying, but think about all the good and positive things as well. You for example!

You have a great destiny and a great future ahead of you. You can make a change and be a huge influence. Make good choices and find a wonderful destiny, preplanned ahead of you!

I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart. . .
-- Jeremiah 1:5

You cannot do whatever you feel you want to do. If you base your life only on current emotions your life will be horrible. Because some days your emotions and feelings will be sky rocketing and you think you can do anything. Then there are other days, when you are licking the walking street and it’s almost impossible to look yourself in the eyes!

These two very different emotions will make you chose two very different decisions. Listen to your emotions, and consider your decision and the consequences before you do it! Then do what is well-balanced. You cannot base any relationship on feelings alone. I know that feelings are a good thing. But if we look at relationships we need to have more than just feelings. There is a difference between being in love and love itself. Being in love is a temporary thing, but actually loving someone in spite of differences, even when everyday life sets in, is the lasting kind of love. This is not based on spur of the moment feeling, but on deep respect, affection and choice. Some think it is just OK to find another partner if the feelings go away.

That is so sad and a huge misunderstanding of the human mind. Don’t get me wrong I love feelings and it’s a great thing, but if I only act on them and make my choices “with” them I’m in trouble! I need to go beyond my emotions and feelings when I make choices. If I go to a huge shopping mall I will get tempted to buy all sorts of things. At least the stores try to affect my feelings at “that moment” when I pass by the store. And maybe if I can’t control that feeling, I will end up buying the whole mall and go bankrupt. To sum up the point, make choices with both your heart and mind.

Destiny is not a matter of chance, but a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, but a thing to be achieved.
-- William Jennings Bryan

You life is full of choices and your destiny is a choice! You have the free will to create your life. The decisions you make can have an impact on entire countries. What starts out with a small thought can end up being your future.

For example, people like Bill Gates, George Washington, Martin Luther King, and the Pope had to make some choices to become who they are. I am not saying that you need to be like Bill Gates or become the new Pope. You just need to be yourself and live your life to the fullest and be the “new” you!

I remember when I was 18 years old. I had to make a decision about what I was going to do with my future. As it is for most teenagers and young people, it can be hard to figure out especially that! I wasn’t sure at all what I should do. I had thought about working in a printing house, but the thought bothered me. But one day as I read in the bible I felt in a very powerful way that I had to sign up for a “Christian discipleship training school” which I had heard about. And even though I applied very late I got the chance to attend the school where they trained us to go out and sail with a big ship and teach others about the love of God. The school was an opportunity for young people to sail in the very beautiful seas of Denmark and Sweden. The ship was called AGAPE which means “God’s love” in Greek. When we cast anchor in the harbors, we usually had some time to talk with people about faith in God and help them with any questions they might have. We also had great meetings in different harbors and in city squares with hundreds attending. We even went to places where there was troubled youth as well. During that year at sea, I developed an enormous desire to work with people and help people in one way or another. I did not base my decision on this one feeling. But slowly I got the desire that I wanted to use my life helping others and show them the powerful love of Christ. Even before this year as a “teenage missionary” God had started something supernatural in my heart. You can read my powerful story about God’s love, grace and power right here: Click here . Today many years later, that is what I am doing.

And with that desire in my heart, I have gotten even more crazy dreams that I want to achieve.

Before I went on the ship, I had no ideas for what I would experience. I really just did it because the Holy Spirit told me too, and I took the chance. Maybe you are worrying about your future and thinking about your destiny. But my advice to you is to just take it easy. Read your Bible and pray. Travel somewhere, get to know some NEW friends and remember to keep the good old ones. Do something different and you will see the world from another point of view.

Don’t let television create your life, but let your life create television!
-- Peter Hansen

You are not only influenced by your own choices, friends, family and your dog; but television is properly the source that impacts you the most. We live in a global culture where everybody seems to do the same thing! Cultures are getting the same and the world is getting smaller (especially the western world). Life issues and problems are the same no matter if you are in Europe or in the United States of America. We listen to the same music on MTV, watch the same movies, some TV shows, and TV series and we almost eat the same kind of food. At this moment, the whole world is getting globalize. I like the thought of “global culture” but I can see a problem, and that is that the media is becoming kind of a role model for our generation. The media influences us and tells us how to live our lives. We all have the choice not to be controlled by the media or other people who can influence us in a bad way. Try to turn off the television and Internet connection and you will see how addicted you are!

Your destiny is worth far more than a stupid soap opera or www! If you want to become a history maker, then it’s your choice.

Integrity: what’s that?

Definition of Integrity:

Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change.

One of the greatest qualities in a man or women is integrity. As you can see in the definition for integrity, it is about honest and moral values. It’s about doing what is right. If you build your life with high moral values and honesty, people will respect you. They will be able to look you in the eyes and say you did all you could do. It will give you a strong personality and a great destiny. If you look below, here I will give you some key words to help you as you continue to read:

Make other people succeed.

Be a real role-model.

Encourage people around you and build them up.

Do not humiliate anyone.

Forgive people for what they might have done to you.

Keep up your self management.

Do not gossip.

Do to others what you would have them do to you.

Do what you say and keep your word.

Do not pass any confidential information to others.

Whatever you do, do it with the right motives.

Believe in God and trust him with all your heart.

Do not lie!

As an easy guideline you can actually use the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament. Read over them, think about them and use them!

The Numerological Destiny Number of 5

Victor Epand 2008-04-15
Title: The Numerological Destiny Number of 5

The Destiny Number in a numerology chart is calculated using a person's full birth name. This is the full name that appears on their birth certificate- unless they were adopted shortly after birth and their name was changed. In that case, the new name can be used. Write out the full name with space below the letters to write the number that corresponds to each. A, J and S are represented by the number 1. B, K and T are represented by the number 2. C, L and U are the number 3. D, M, and V are the number 4. E, N and W are 5. F, O and X are 6. G, P and Y are 7. H, Q and Z are 8. I and R are 9.

In order to calculate the Destiny Number, add the numbers together for each part of the name, reduce the total if it is not between 1 and 9 (or 11 or 22, the master numbers). Then add the reduced results from each part of the name together and reduce again if necessary. For the name Jane Doe Smith, you would start with Jane- which would be 1 + 1 + 5 + 5 or 12, which reduces to 3. Doe would be 4 + 6 + 5 or 15, which reduces to 6. Smith would be 1 + 4 + 9 + 2 + 8 or 24, which reduces to 6. Add them together and 3 + 6 + 6 or 15, which reduces to 6. Jane Doe Smith's Destiny Number would be 6.

For those who have a Destiny Number of 5, their life will be dedicated to progressive thoughts and actions, change and freedom. They are multitalented and versatile, developing ways to do nearly everything well. Adaptability is a key part of achieving freedom. They will be very good at explaining their ideas to others and selling their importance. Their quick, clever minds are capable of much analysis. They would excel at nearly any job they tried- especially those that involve other people. Advertising, publicity, entertainment and media would be great industries for this person- or all of the above, since they have a tendency to change careers as their interests shift. And their interests tend to shift a lot.

Instead of rebelling, they will teach enlightenment and progressive thinking that will be adapted and used by others. The more this person stops to learn about others, the better that message will be. It can be hard for them to let go of past ideas for the new ones. The negative aspects of the Destiny Number of 5 can include restlessness and impatience. Erratic, they can become too scattered and are unreliable at sticking to a routine. There is also a tendency not to learn from mistakes as history keeps repeating itself. Instead of taking a moment to stop and learn from the mistake, they will often shrug it off and keep moving towards their next round of doing the same thing wrong.

The Numerological Destiny Number of 1

For those who have a Destiny Number of 1, their life will be marked by a path towards independence and leadership. There is a capability here to be an initiator with a unique, creative approach to problems. But there is a chance they will not be big on the small details since so much of their attention is on the bigger picture. They will nevertheless be able to achieve a great deal of business success- often by blazing a never before seen or thought of path. There is a high chance they will be running their own business or a high level manager of someone else's business. Financial success is also on this path.

In order for all of the pieces to fall into place for this puzzle, the person will need to keep their mind sharp and develop their skills as they move along. It is likely that their ambition and determination will only increase with age. Confident and independent, they will have the courage and will to stand by and see out their ideas. Routine will bore them and ruts are a big fear. Being on the forefront is so important that they often take off before they need to and make reckless mistakes in order to be ahead of the pack (or at least not behind it). The negative aspects of this Destiny Number in numerology can include an over inflated ego, aggressiveness, dominance and a ruthless ambition.

The Numerological Destiny Number of 4

For those who have a Destiny Number of 4, their life will be devoted to service, management and order. They will be ruled by an earthy practicality and be willing to put forth all of the hard work that it takes for a project to be successful. They are very patient and detail oriented, excelling in the fields of engineering, manufacturing or a medical field. If a job involves organizing, regulating and tenacity this person will feel right at home and excel. They are able to succeed at even the largest of tasks. It is possible that their organization and attention to detail can cross the line into obsession. This person is so meticulous in all that they do that it can be hard to live up to the ivory towers they tend to build- for them and those around them.

Those with a Destiny Number of 4 have very high moral standards and expect their friends to live up to them as well. Those who fail will be met with obvious disappointment. They seek out others who seem likely to share their practical and moral nature. The negative aspects of this number can include dominance over others and bossiness. They can become frustrated when placed in a situation where their abilities are limited. There can be an eccentricity and a stubbornness surrounding these unusual characteristics or opinions. Their opinions are so strong they may become biases.

For those who have a Destiny Number of 3, their life will be one of creation and inspiration. Their optimistic attitude and good cheer will remain an aura around them that will inspire others to listen and follow. They know how to experience joy and are happy to spread the word on how to do it to others. How they bring joy to others can be through small tasks or by becoming an entertainer. Singing, acting, teaching, speaking and writing are common professions under this number. They are also natural salespeople and do well in marketing or sales. It is likely that they will get along well with small children due to having a similarly innocent and enthusiastic spirit.

As they age, their enthusiasm and optimism only seems to grow. People are drawn to them because they are social, loving, charming and great with conversation. It is essential that they develop during their life the communication skills that will help them inspire. They will also focus time on perfecting the art of being a good friend. Social networking will often lead them to greater business success. Negative aspects of this number can include focusing on the superficial, scattered energy or a problem taking things too seriously. It can be hard for them to not focus on unimportant things- like whether or not people like them. Despite this, those with a Destiny Number of 3 are not lacking in self consciousness. It wouldn't be joyful to be moping all the time.

The Numerological Destiny Number of 2

For those who have a Destiny Number of 2, their life will be centered on understanding other people and the complexities of the world around them. They are likely to take the part of mediator in many of life's situations due to their sensitivity towards others. They will inspire others with their exemplary lifestyle. There is a deep internal strength and knowledge that would well suit this person for a career in social work, philosophy, teaching or advising. Their ability to see into the true natures of people and situations can make them appear to be nearly psychic.

There is a dependence on others and they operate best in a group setting. Their modesty will only grow with age and they may be very uncomfortable discussing or acknowledging their own accomplishments. Others may even take the credit for this person's work but they won't be accused since this person wouldn't mind. They are considerate, cooperate and courteous to the point that it can become too passive if it isn't kept in check. They are great organizers of projects since they are extremely detail oriented.

They will be popular with others due to their friendly behavior. Their idealism and open hearted nature can lead to them being hurt easily. Insecurity, shyness and uncertainty may be negative aspects associated with this number. There may also be a nervousness that can cause an uneven temperament. These people are more dreamers than achievers and they tend to spread the ideas of their dreams around to everyone near them.

For those with a Destiny Number of 6, their lives will be dedicated to love, balance and responsibility. They will be conscientious, helpful and able to rectify and balance any lack of harmony in their surroundings. Helping and comforting those in need will appeal to these people- especially when the ones in need are the elderly, children, the ill or the poor. Those with their Destiny Number in 6 believe in righting wrongs and behaving charitably.

This person would make a great parent since so much of their energy and concern would be turned towards their home. They approach all relationships with an open and honest nature. Happiness at the home front will be so important to them that they will somehow be able to create nearly perfect harmony without even breaking a sweat. Their occupation will also be chosen to help the home and often the community, as well. A job in social work, teaching, construction, science (especially medicine) or religion is likely to suit this person well.

The upsides of having a Destiny Number of 6 include a friendly, appreciative and loving nature. There is also sympathy for others that can result in great acts of generosity and kindness. The negatives of this number can include dominance, stubbornness and a self-righteous attitude. They can be too demanding on the self and those around them. There is a tendency to self sacrifice to save others from stress or harm. This can cause excessive worrying.

Destiny!

Peter Capili Haahr Hansen 2006-06-14
Title: Destiny!

You will keep on guiding me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny -- Psalm 73:24

Isn't that great?

Since the beginning of this world billions of people have had the ability to make their own choices. Some of them were bad, very bad and some of them were good. I believe that many of the things we see in our world today are a consequence of peoples' choices.

Then there are other days, when you are licking the walking street and it's almost impossible to look yourself in the eyes!

Don't get me wrong I love feelings and it's a great thing, but if I only act on them and make my choices "with" them I'm in trouble! I need to go beyond my emotions and feelings when I make choices. If I go to a huge shopping mall I will get tempted to buy all sorts of things. At least the stores try to affect my feelings at "that moment" when I pass by the store. And maybe if I can't control that feeling, I will end up buying the whole mall and go bankrupt.

You just need to be yourself and live your life to the fullest and be the "new" you!

I remember when I was 18 years old. I had to make a decision about what I was going to do with my future. As it is for most teenagers and young people, it can be hard to figure out especially that! I wasn't sure at all what I should do. I had thought about working in a printing house, but the thought bothered me. But one day as I read in the bible I felt in a very powerful way that I had to sign up for a "Christian discipleship training school" which I had heard about. And even though I applied very late I got the chance to attend the school where they trained us to go out and sail with a big ship and teach others about the love of God. The school was an opportunity for young people to sail in the very beautiful seas of Denmark and Sweden. The ship was called AGAPE which means "God's love" in Greek. Even before this year as a "teenage missionary" God had started something supernatural in my heart. You can read my powerful story about God's love, grace and power right here: Click here .

J Do something different and you will see the world from another point of view.

Don't let television create your life, but let your life create television!-- Peter Haahr Hansen

I like the thought of "global culture" but I can see a problem, and that is that the media is becoming kind of a role model for our generation. The media influences us and tells us how to live our lives. We all have the choice not to be controlled by the media or other people who can influence us in a bad way. Try to turn off the television and Internet connection and you will see how addicted you are!

Your destiny is worth far more than a stupid soap opera or www! If you want to become a history maker, then it's your choice.

Integrity: what's that? Definition of Integrity:

Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change.

One of the greatest qualities in a man or women is integrity. As you can see in the definition for integrity, it is about honest and moral values. It's about doing what is right. If you build your life with high moral values and honesty, people will respect you. They will be able to look you in the eyes and say you did all you could do. It will give you a strong personality and a great destiny. If you look below, here I will give you some key words to help you as you continue to read: · Make other people succeed. · Be a real role-model. · Encourage people around you and build them up. · Do not humiliate anyone. · Forgive people for what they might have done to you. · Keep up your self management. · Do not gossip. · Do to others what you would have them do to you. · Do what you say and keep your word. · Do not pass any confidential information to others. · Whatever you do, do it with the right motives. · Believe in God and trust him with all your heart. · Do not lie!

As an easy guideline you can actually use the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament. Read over them, think about them and use them!

Find your Bible and read them right here: Exodus chapter 20.

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW US THE FREEDOM TO MAKE CHOICES?

Because God loves you and has a great plan for your life.
