Title: Dish Network Offers - All About Dish Network Satellite
If you were using conventional Direct TV, they would offer you FREE satellite TV equipments meaning you get the dish and receiver’s free. The installation of such direct TV equipments is included in the free package. Sounds too good to be true, well, there’s a catch if you were to have a DVR receiver you will be charged an additional $49.99 not to mention a whopping $299.99 for a HDTV receiver (High Definition TV).

Dish Network understands such frustration and has now come out with a latest offer that allows the user to have all the equipment for Dish Network’s Satellite FREE. Yes, folks all FREE including installation of up to FOUR rooms. The offer doesn’t stop there; Dish Network’s Satellite FREE equipment is inclusive of the DVR and HDTV receiver, how lucky can you get, giving you absolutely no reason not to join.

Dish Networks basically promotes one thing in their offer, the power of choice. Dish network offers a variety of packages giving way to more options, meaning you get to choose the package that best suites you (you don’t have to buy a standard package whereby you don’t watch all the programs). Another thing about more choices and options is that it opens up more possibilities to save.

You can get all the entertainment you need with Dish Networks with a low monthly subscription of only $19.90 per month. It’s even cheaper than dinner, and it’s spicier (if you get what I mean). Dish Networks has the most Latino and international programming in the whole satellite category giving them an upper hand when it comes to choices to foreigners residing in the United States. They basically offer twice as much international HDTV channels than any provider in the network.

Sometimes when we purchase a product we don’t really want the quality of the product (although it’s one of the criteria) but we want good quality services as well. Imagine buying a very high tech advance space ship that acts like a car on road. It has all the cool rides and wheels but you don’t know how to drive it, get what I mean? Dish network’s customer satisfaction was rated #1 amongst all the cable and satellite TV providers, now that’s something to think about.

Serious couch potato’s and television viewers are flocking to Dish Network daily to abuse such outrages offer as state of the art equipment (totally free) and programming technology are being shipped out daily. Don't fret if you’re not an early bird - search for Dish Network Deals to obtain specifics on package lineups and pricing information.

Direct TV Dishes and LNB Technology

David Johnson 2007-04-13
Title: Direct TV Dishes and LNB Technology
The dish you use for Direct TV will get you a wide variety of channels. When you watch your favorite programs through Direct TV, the dish will automatically determine what frequencies are used for the integrated receiver/decoder (IRD).

The Direct TV dish may seem like nothing but a satellite dish; however, unlike the other satellite dishes, it is very small in size. It is either oval or round in shape. The Direct TV dish consists of one to three low noise block converter (LNB’s). A Direct TV dish with only one LNB is the one that could receive satellite broadcasts from only one orbiting satellite. A Direct TV dish with two LNB’s is capable of catching signals from two various satellites. The recent and most sophisticated dish at the present time is the Direct TV dish with triple LNB’s that catches television signals right away from up to three various satellites.

Direct TV Dish with Single LNB

The Direct TV Dish with only one LNB is designed with the intention that when a satellite beams a signal in the direction of the Direct TV satellite dish it will rebound to that pointing gadget known as an LNB. The more length between the surface of the Earth and the satellite, the wider the area of the circle beam will be. In reality, as a beam travels a longer distance, it loses the power of the signal. In space a signal must go on traveling hypothetically, and that is the reason why we have hindrance in the space. Sunlight plays major role in the cause of this type of interference. However, the important thing to keep in mind is that beams bounce.

Direct TV Dish with Double LNB

The LNB’s exploited in all the Direct TV dish antennas are responsible for receiving the signal that bounces off the dish. The beams coming from a satellite might strike any area of the dish. Whenever the Direct TV dish locates itself inside that broadcasting beam area of the satellite, and positioned in the proper direction, the beam signal will rebound in the approved manner and hit the LNB. However, the satellites settle up in the sky over the equator in an orbit known as geosynchronous orbit. In this case, there are two LNB’s in your Direct TV dish with the intention that if there are two satellites directing at an area from different angles, the Direct TV dish will get both beams of the satellite. However, this indicates pointing between the two orbiting satellites in geosynchronous orbit over the equator, one at the side of the other.

Direct TV Dish with Triple LNB

To receive better signals, you need to get transmissions from two different satellites. Single satellite could not send all the channels in one beam. One beam can digitally get from 12 to 32 various channels. If a beam is more powerful, and then it can send more channels; however, in the case of getting around 250 channels, the beams need to contact other satellites with different transmissions. Consequently a Direct TV dish with triple LNB gets three various satellite beams from three various positions. In this case, every Direct TV satellite is adjacent to the other and your Direct TV dish must face the satellite in the center.

Direct TV Installation Process

David Johnson 2007-03-05
Title: Direct TV Installation Process
Many Direct TV subscribers perform self-installation for the Direct TV System. The three components make up the basic intallation process. The Direct TV Satellite Dish must be mounted to the subscriber’s rooftop, cables must be connected to receive transmission from the dish to the receiver and connected to the subscriber’s Audio-Visual equipment throughout the house and the Direct TV receiver unit must be configured.

Installation of the satellite dish requires the subscriber to know what size and type of dish he or she will need for the coverage area. The next step is installing the mounting system and which direction to aim the dish to receive transmission from the Direct TV Satellite. The Direct TV System uses a small round dish that is lightweight and simple to mount on a rooftop or similar outside location. In rainy or snowy areas, bigger and heavier dishes are needed to prevent weather interference. Once the dish is in the user’s possession it is important for the subscriber to examine the area and find a location outside with no obstructions (i.e. tall trees) and where the Direct TV Dish can be aimed in a southerly direction. The subscriber should point the satellite dish approximately 60 degrees upward. If the user is closer to the northern US states, 30 degrees will be amenable. Once the subscriber has found a good location for the dish on their property, mounted the dish and initially directed the Direct TV satellite, the user will attach an appropriate length of cable to the Dish and run it directly from the dish to the receiver.

Users can decide for themselves which Direct TV System they want and where to mount the dish on their house. If the user decides to mount the dish farther away from the house, more Quad Shield RG6 coaxial cable will be necessary. It is important for the subscriber to use type RG6 coaxial cable as it is the specific dimension of copper cable needed to carry DirecTV broadcasting systems. This RG6 coaxial cable will ensure proper transmission of data from the dish to the receiver. Once the installation of the external cable is laid, the cable inside the house can be connected with the less expensive RG6 Dual Shield cable. When the user wants to run the connection to two locations within the same room or area, RG6 Siamese cable has the capacity to distribute both lines of cable in the same parallel direction. This method is useful for those users with basements or attics where connection is required.

Once this step of mounting and connecting the cables into the house is completed, the user will connect the DirecTV receiver. Once the cable is connected to the dish properly and transmitting data efficiently to the DirecTV receiver, the user should finalize the tweaking of the satellite dish by using the appropriate coordinates that appear in the on screen menu. This can be achieved by reading the information on the Direct TV receiver.

Once the user has the dish aimed at the aforementioned coordinates, the Direct TV IRD (integrated receiver/decoder) can be connected anywhere in the subscriber’s house. The can connect as many receivers as necessary or desired, depending on the system the user has purchased.

The reception should be tested every time the user connects all units until all the rooms in the subscriber’s home or apartment have the Direct TV equipment connected correctly. Important details for the subscriber to remember are: the user needs to be certain of the details of which DIRECT TV Dish is required, research an appropriate outdoor position for the dish with a direct line of sight to the Direct TV satellite with no obstructions, point the satellite dish up between 30 to 60 degrees in a southerly direction and proceed to run RG6 cable. Again, this Quad Shield RG6 cable is necessary for connecting the outside cable as it will be most effective in avoiding interference. The interior cables can be laid using Dual Shield RG6 cable wires that will thread the signal to each room of the house. The IRD receiver component will provide the correct coordinates of the Direct TV satellite in geosynchroneous space and will assist the user to adjust the dish accordingly.

Direct TV Equipment

David Johnson 2007-03-05
Title: Direct TV Equipment
Direct TV Equipment consists of the Direct Tv satellite Dish, the receiver and the remote control. When a customer orders Direct TV he or she can schedule online the date and time for a free professional installation, at the customer’s convenience.

The customer can purchase separate Direct TV Receivers for the various television sets in the home which gives the user the flexibility of watching different Direct TV programs on different television sets. To do this, the user needs to have a dual-LNB Direct TV System. The dual-LNB Direct TV System, sometimes referred to as a "deluxe system" or a "multi-room system", allows the viewer to use one additional receiver so different viewers can watch different channels or pay per view programs in two different rooms at the same time.

The Direct TV Multi-Satellite System allows use of up to four receivers. Additional equipment can be purchased to expand the number of receivers that can be independently connected to the user’s system. If all the Direct TV Receivers are connected to the same land-based phone line, then Direct TV can "mirror" the subscription package for a nominal fee for each additional Direct TV Receiver.

Direct TV utilizes a piece of equipment called an access card, which is a plastic card approximately the size of a credit card that is distributed to customers either together with the receiving equipment or separately. After the purchase and installation of the equipment, the customer must contact Direct TV to choose a programming package and to provide a method of payment. After the customer selects a package, Direct TV will activate the access card, providing the customer with access to the selected programming and the ability to order and watch pay-per-view events. These Direct TV access cards are non-transferable.

The customer can access the on screen guide by pressing a button on the remote control. The customer can navigate around the guide using the arrow buttons on the remote. The guide lists all DIRECTV programming with descriptions of most programs. Programming, pricing, terms and conditions are subject to change. The on-screen program guide lets the customer look up program schedules up to two weeks ahead, depending on the customer’s receiver model.

Installation of the Satellite dish can be mounted simply on the roof of your home. Satellite dishes can also be mounted on roofs of apartment buildings, provided the customer has received permission from the landlord or housing cooperative prior to installation. If the customer is interested in having a mobile Direct TV unit, such as in an RV or coach, the Direct Tv satellite dish can be mounted on the RV in a similar fashion. Professionals at Direct TV can assist the RV user in installation.

In the Direct TV System receiver software, parental controls are an option for those customers who desire it. The Locks & Limits feature built into the equipment restricts access with rating limits, pay per view spending limits, and by blocking the viewing of entire channels.

Best Home Theater Receiver: The AV Receiver

Laurie Lindsay 2008-03-13
Title: Best Home Theater Receiver: The AV Receiver

The surround sound receiver is an important piece of equipment that is more commonly referred to as the AV receiver. AV in this particular instance refers to audio and video. In other words, the receiver receives all this information and then plays traffic cop directing it where it should go. If you purchase an all in one sort of AV receiver you will notice that in addition to conducting traffic this particular tool wears many hats when it comes to effectively running your home theater or surround sound system.

The receiver functions in the capacity of a switch for all audio and visual information that comes into your home theater system. This device takes all the source information and data and literally switches (or translates if you will) that data into pictures and sound. Without something to operate in this capacity it would be impossible to have a home theater system as the information couldn't be properly filtered and translated into the areas to which it needs to go.

Surround decoding is yet another task that the AV receiver performs with grace. Surround sound is encoded onto the discs that we play in our theater or sound equipment. The most common type of encoding is designed for 5.1 channel surround sound systems such as Dolby Digital or DTS receivers. There are others that exist but the vast majority of DVDs are designed and encoded for the above mentioned 5.1 channel systems.

As if these weren't enough the AV receiver also works in the capacity of a signal processor. Common signals that are processed by the receiver are the following: THX post-processing, bass management, digital audio decoding, and simulated soundfields. If at all possible, you should really take the effort to find an AV receiver that is THX certified. The requirements to meet the minimal certification standards make a system that meets those standards an excellent investment for your home theater or surround sound needs.

Amplification is yet another of the many tasks performed regularly by your AV receiver. This is an important task to your surround sound and the overall 'theatrical' experience of viewing movies on your home theater. You will probably be wise to check with your retailer about how much amplification you actually need in your home theater, as there are many mitigating factors that affect that number such as ceiling height, square footage of the room, flooring material and other things as well. While more power is good in most situations there are times when it is simply too much for your system to handle. This is one reason that many people opt to buy ready-made box kits for their surround sound and home theater needs.

Last but certainly not least, the AV receiver actually works as a tuner for AM/FM radio. Don't be too shocked and awed by all the jobs that this one little device does, just remember this when you see the sticker price and think to yourself how much more you would pay if you were buying a separate device for each of these functions. We should all be grateful to the person who invented this particular contraption and be glad to pay the price we are paying for the amazing sound that is produced.
