The three basic tools for completing a physical examination are medical history, hands-on examination, and diagnostic/laboratory tests. A medical history is the most important part of the physical examination, especially during the first visit with your physician. It includes a history of habits, lifestyle, family history, and symptoms. Many physicians use health-risk appraisals, detailed questionnaires that provide information about health habits. This is one area of the physical examination for which a patient can prepare. By following the guidelines for communicating with your physician presented earlier in this chapter, you can help your physician obtain an accurate health profile. This is important because a diagnosis can usually be made with only a thorough history and hands-on examination. The hands-on examination is the second part of the physical examination. It consists of an examination by touching, looking, and listening. Physicians can feel or palpate for enlarged glands, growths, and tumors with procedures, such as the breast examination, pelvic examination, rectal examination, and hernia examination. Thumping the back and chest lets the physician know whether any fluid has built up in or around the lungs. Tapping a knee for reflexes may reveal nervous system damage. A stethoscope is the physician's basic listening device and is used to listen to the heart, lungs, abdomen, and glands located near the surface of the skin. Possible problems that can be detected with the stethoscope range from a heart murmur to such conditions as poor circulation, lung infection, intestinal blockage, and an overactive thyroid gland. Physicians have access to a number of instruments to visually inspect for problems. An ophthalmoscope is used to view the brain by looking into the eye. The first sign of some brain diseases is an unhealthy looking optic nerve. Leakage in the blood vessels of the eye may be a sign of diabetes or hypertension. An otoscope is used to inspect the ear, particularly the tympanic membrane. The proctoscope and sigmoidoscope are used to examine the rectum and colon. The laryngoscope and bronchoscope provide a look at the larynx and bronchial tubes. The last part of the physical examination includes diagnostic laboratory tests, which may vary from a simple urinalysis to invasive dye tests. The effectiveness of these tests receives mixed reviews. Tests conducted for specific symptoms may be invaluable in pinpointing disabling conditions. They may be just as valuable for what they do not reveal as they are for what they do reveal. This can be reassuring to the patient and physician. On the negative side, many physicians rely too heavily on laboratory tests. Patients often demand or acquiesce to more tests than necessary, sometimes more than is good for them. Ten years ago, one fourth of all medical tests contributed little to health. For example, when researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, studied 2000 patients hospitalized for surgery, they found that 60% of the blood tests routinely ordered were unnecessary. Only 1 in about 450 revealed abnormalities, and they were ignored because they were either not noticed or dismissed as not significant. The researchers concluded that if a thorough history turns up no hint of a medical problem, routine testing is a waste. Many times tests are recommended more for the purpose of protecting the doctor against medical malpractice suits, rather than for their diagnostic value. This practice, which is called defensive medicine, paints a sobering picture of the difficulty in making medical decisions for doctors and patients alike. A doctor may know with 99% certainty a particular diagnosis but order a test or procedure any way as protection against liability should he or she be sued later. Malpractice suits are a reality; they have increased 300% in the past 30 years. Almost two thirds of physicians say that the threat of liability influences them to order extra tests. 28 Of course, patients always have the right to decline a prescribed test. It should be a two-way decision between patient and doctor that is based on its potential for an effective medical intervention.

We can Help you find the best prices on Insurance! Health insurance comes in all shapes and sizes. Some health insurance plans are highly customizable while other health insurance plans are not. More expensive medical insurance offers better services, but this does not mean that less expensive medical insurance plans are not as good. There are many affordable health insurance plans that provide excellent coverage options. What are your Health Insurance Options? To begin with, it is important to know what your health insurance options really are. Laws regulating health insurance are different in every state, which means that health insurance plans will vary from state to state as much as they do from company to company. For example, health insurance providers in Oregon are not allowed to deny coverage due to pre-existing conditions, while health insurance providers in Pennsylvania can deny coverage, but must offer uniform premiums. - There are three basic components of health insurance: Premiums are the fees that a customer pays to a health insurance provider for access to their services. The rate of the health insurance premium can be dependent on the health of the insured party, their age and gender, or the amount of the health insurance deductible chosen for a particular health insurance plan. Deductibles & Co-Pays can Vary! The deductible is the amount of the health care fees the customer is responsible for before the health insurance provider begins coverage. Health insurance deductibles are determined for an annual period. Having no health insurance deductible, or a very low health insurance deductible will usually result in a higher health insurance premium. Having a high deductible health insurance plan can result in benefits that most other health insurance plans do not afford, such as coverage of services that are not normally covered by health insurance providers. A copay or coinsurance is the amount of a medical fee that the health insurance customer is responsible for. A copay is a set dollar amount determined for each service by the health insurance provider, while coinsurance is a percentage of the fee that the health insurance customer is responsible for. Copay and coinsurance rates can be higher when the doctor does not have a contract with the health insurance provider.

Title: Suspension Bushes: For Good Health of Your Car
The most tragic thing in the life of a motorist is having a car without optimum performance of speed and smoothness. Different small components of your car make this possible. Suspension bushes one such small and rubber made components. These components ensure that the chassis of car must remain in good condition and the tires of your car must have excellent grip on the road. These two particular functions are necessary for the maintenance of the smoothness and speed of your car. You might know that the job of a car suspension system is to maximize the normal friction between the tires of your car and the road surface. This is also one of the major functions of the suspension bushes. These are fitted to your vehicle at all those points where the chassis of your car is joined to a moving suspension component. So, you must not compromise on their quality and it is your responsibility to use the best ones. There can be many repercussions of using poor quality suspension bushes which have many drawbacks like too high wear rate, wearing away of mating metal parts, deterioration due to the effects of petrol and oil, poor resilience specially at high hardness, poor load bearing and low tensile strength, high compression set causing permanent deformation. These drawbacks makes them bad for your car and your car can develop overall bad health by using such components. Therefore, always insist on polyurethane made suspension bushes because polyurethane has a longer working life which is three to four times that of rubber and it is impervious to petrol and vehicle oil. Also, one of the major qualities of polyurethane is high resilience that is the ability and speed of returning back to its original shape. These qualities have made it an ideal component for being used in suspension bushes. Hence, next time if you are going for a suspension bush replacement then choose poly suspension bushes this is good for your car's health. About The Author: Breonna Isabela is a car fanatic and leaves no stone unturned in accumulating information about objects that can add that extra in the performance of cars. He has done extensive research in cars, Car Parts, Suspension bushes and knows the functioning of this glorious machine inside out. The article given here covers the suspension bushes.

Title: What Are The Components of Physical Fitness?
Which components of physical fitness are there and what is the definition of fitness? Put another way, are the sum of the condition of each of these components the definition of fitness? Each of these components equals one of the aspects we use to describe exactly how good a person's general health and fitness is. The components of physical fitness is an array of statements about how fit a person is in a specific area. The more statements with a high area value, the higher general health and fitness is found in the person. Strength is defined as the component of physical fitness which judges the extent in which the muscles and body can exert force while being resisted. Power is the way we exert maximum amounts of energy in fast movements like making a running start. Agility is how well a person can perform several power movements in succession although in opposite directions. Balance records how well a person can control their position while they are either moving or fixed. Flexibility is the way we can move our bodies in certain ways without discountenance by stiff muscles or even fat. Body composition is how the amount of fat and lean muscle in our bodies are assessed. A person's body weight may not coincide with how fit they really are so it is momentous to learn how much body fat a person should have and how they can improve it. The next components of physical fitness assess the endurance levels of diversified areas. Local muscle endurance is the ability of a particular isolated muscle or muscle group to perform repeated actions requiring energy or force. Cardiovascular endurance judges how well a person's heart can distribute blood to the muscles in the body as well as the ability to use it. Strength endurance is the muscle's capability to effectively perform an action using maximum power over a sustained period of time. Co-ordination is the ability to effectively mingle other components of physical fitness to perform tasks. Are there any Components of Physical Fitness that are more Important than others? All components of physical fitness are important in their own unique way. There is one component however, that can be classified as more important than the other: Cardiovascular and cardio respiratory endurance are especially important as it is the areas that most affect how well the other components perform. Without fuel, physical activity is impossible so it is imperative that this area of fitness is the top priority in a fitness regime. Activities that keep the heart rate elevated for a sustained period of time such as walking or swimming can improve cardiovascular endurance. The workout does not have to be overly exertive; actually it is more effective if built up slowly to a more powerful pace. This can help to build up muscular strength particularly when combined with weight lifting. The more you build up muscle endurance, the greater is the amount of time they can be exerted with fatigue. If a joint can move within a big ranger, we say that it is flexible; The bigger the range it can move, the more flexible it is. The more flexible a joint is, the less is the chance of injuries while moving. As you may see, all components of physical fitness are of importance. We should all strive for maximum health and fitness. Gary Holdon is a writer and internet publisher. Read his popular articles like best weight loss diet. Read more at weight loss plans.

Title: Short-term effect of Coffee on health
Coffee includes an intricate mixture of chemical compounds. Some components, specifically those that are related to aroma, are produced during roasting of the green coffee beans. stuffs that during brewing dissolve in water to create the drink which are classified as nonvolatile taste components (comprises of caffeine, trigonelline, phenolic acids, chlorogenic acid, carbohydrates, amino acids and other minerals) and volatile aroma components comprise of organic acids, aldehydes, ketones, esters, amines and mercaptans. A cup of coffee, depending on its strength might contain some 10-100mg of caffeine. Some types of coffee might as well contain important amounts of the B-vitamin niacin, even though this nutrient is of course with pleasure accessible from other foods as well. Caffeine-containing tablets or medications need not be taken as well as cups of coffee or tea, as this would again increase the true value of dosage. The effects of caffeine differ from person to person; some individuals may drink several cups of coffee in an hour and may also have zero effects, while other person may feel a strong effect after just one serving. Caffeine is actually a drug, which has been widely used for centuries. Its main effect is that it is a soft stimulant of central nervous system (CNS), assisting to decrease feelings of tiredness and fatigue. However, usual use might lead to “habituation”; that is, no net advantage from use but, rather, a negative effect if the drug is not actually taken. Besides the above mentioned CNS stimulant outcome, caffeine as well temporarily increases heartbeat, increases the blood pressure, and further stimulates the action of the lungs; increases basal metabolic rate (BMR), and help to promotes urine production; and it also relaxes smooth muscles, particularly the bronchial muscle. Caffeine is well used in treating migraine disease, either alone or in combination. It enhances the action of the ergot alkaloids, which is used for the treatment of this problem, and further increase the potency of analgesics such as aspirin. It could to some extent relieve asthma attacks by dilating the bronchial airways. Caution and Warning Too much of caffeine could also produce restlessness, nausea, headache, tense muscles, cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) and sleep disturbances. Because caffeine increases the production of stomach acid it might even worsen ulcer symptoms or cause acid reflux (heartburn). Consuming coffee in evening might disrupt sleep and may cause insomnia. Caffeine needs to be used with caution by people with heart disease and people with high blood pressure (hypertension), and also by those people who are suffering from eye disease glaucoma. Caffeine medications must not be generally taken by children. Many children are already drinking huge amounts of caffeine in drinks and food. In this connection, a nutritional concern is that children might select fizzy drinks in preference to milk, thus getting zero calories at the expense of valuable nutrients. Adam Akelis is a professional copywriter who has a sound knowledge on coffee, his favorite drink. Not only Adam, there is lot of coffee lovers all over the world interested in knowing the benefits on coffee intake. Title: Quit Smoking and Improve Other People''s Health
Nowadays, smoking is considered a major epidemic because of the ill-effects it brings to millions of people who use tobacco. Smoking affects many parts of the body and may contribute to the development of many ailments including cancer, respiratory ailments, and cardiovascular diseases. Smokers are also more likely to develop hardening of the arteries, bronchitis, shortness of breath, or emphysema. In addition, smokers are twice as likely to experience heart attack compared to a non-smoker. Because of these health effects many health drives are focused on the need to quit smoking. However, despite the ill-effects of smoking many individuals are still engaged in this dreaded habit. In 2005, more than 20% of adults in the United States smoke, according to a report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP). While smoking rates among high school students have been on a decline since 1997, the rate of teenagers who smoke is equal to, and in some cases, higher than that of adults. The younger that a person starts smoking, the more likely will that person become a smoker as an adult. Studies show that smoking addiction immediately takes place after an individual tries smoking. This addiction is traced to nicotine, one of the active component of cigarettes. When people smoke, nicotine enters the body along with other chemicals and heads to the brain. As these chemicals enter the brain, they activate the pleasure cells and activate mood altering effects that give short-term pleasure. The earlier one starts smoking, the more likely they will develop into a continuing nicotine addiction which can lead to the development of many illnesses. The nicotine and other poisonous chemicals in tobacco are also responsible for the development diseases like heart problems and some forms of cancer. Individuals who smoke may hurt their lungs each time they light a cigarette. Smoking may also hamper blood circulation and make it more difficult for blood to move around the body. This is the reason why many smokers tend to feel tired and fatigued. The longer an individual smokes the more the damage these substances may do to the body. Here are other health problems that can be encountered by people who frequently smoke: * bad breath * stained teeth and gums * smelly clothes * difficulty keeping up with friends with sports activities * high blood pressure * increased risk of developing cataracts * fertility problems * acid taste in the mouth * ulcer * paler skin and more wrinkles There are many other reasons to quit smoking—not just for smokers themselves but also for the people around them. Babies born to mothers who smoke during pregnancy have heightened risks to be born prematurely and with low birth weight. Children whose parents smoke may have twice the risk of developing getting asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, and allergies. Quiting smoking may improve the health of smokers and the people around them. There are many scientifically proven “quit smoking” products that are out in the market. However, these products cannot do all the work. Needless to say, a person who wants to quit smoking must have determination, discipline, and commitment to stop the habit permanently. Using these products can help a smoker cut the habit by making them more comfortable during the process of switching to a life without cigarettes. Many quit smoking products are available over the counter but it is still best to seek the prior approval of health professionals. A person needs to know the possible side effects and drug interactions that may be developed while under medication. With the right tools and attitude, quitting smoking can be easier than others think.

Title: Scouting Out Hard-to-find Components
Electronics are integral to everyday life and electronic components are in high demand. Semiconductors are used in forming electronic components. Semiconductor technology has grown a great deal, and these days, most electronic parts make use of semiconductor technology. Thus, most of the integrated circuits and diodes that we use (among other things) are functioning on semiconductor technology. When dealing with electronics, one has to have an understanding of what semiconductors are and how they work. Now, the substances that we come into contact with are divided into three main categories based on the way in which they conduct electric current. These three categories are: conductors, non-conductors, and semiconductors. In the simplest of terms, materials that allow the flow of electrical current are called conductors, and the ones that do not allow this flow are called non-conductors. A large number of metals fall into the first category while materials like plastic and wood fall into the second. A semiconductor is somewhere in between these two categories. Silicon is among the most popular semiconductors that are used. Semiconductor technology has been making great advances. Thus, every day sees yet another component becoming obsolete. This is bound to happen as a result of the great leaps that science seems to be making on a regular basis. A new development somewhere may transform an entire process, thereby making existing instruments and components redundant. Technological progress does have a way of ousting existing procedures so that newer ones can come in. However, progress in technology is not the only reason why certain components become obsolete. These days, since the environment is on top of everybody's mind, it is natural for governments to pass laws pertaining to the use of hazardous materials. After all, everybody is thinking about the planet nowadays. However, such laws sometimes end up banning components that are commonly used. This in turn, adversely affects the electronic machinery that is in use, and in some cases, makes them obsolete too. Thus, buyers of certain electronic components face difficulties in coming across certain integral parts. Luckily for buyers, however, locating hard to find electronic parts is a lot easier now. The Internet has opened up all kinds of boundaries. Buyers and suppliers can easily come into contact and place their orders over the Internet. Everything from obsolete semiconductors to difficult to locate integrated circuits is now available in the matter of minutes. So even if some components are hard to get hold of, today's buyers can still find them without too much trouble.

Title: Advice About the Latest and Accurate Help Concerning Computer Components
Well first of all I was always a cat owner, till my husband bought our first Chihuahua (Stitch) in 2002, Stitch was about 6 weeks old and was generally purchased for our children and it stud that was till he was about 5 months or so. Then I started to notice that he was starting to favor me and follow me around more and more everyday, one day I hid from him and watched him run up and down the hallway from the crack in the bedroom door, until he found me and it just melted my heart, my cats never did that and after that he became ALL MINE Stitch stole my heart. Around a month later my mother handed down her old sewing machine to me, I tried making everything that came to mind but nothing ever turned out perfect, but I kept sewing anyways.
Shortly after I got my sewing machine my sister in-law gave me a little dog shirt that she had found on clearance at Wal-Mart and I looked at this little thing and said “ this would be a piece of cake to make” and that very night I began working on little shirts for Stitch. It was a very exciting challenge and the results were outstanding! Stitch always had a new shirt for every occasion, then one day that same sister in-law told me that I should try selling my dog shirts on eBay. So about a month later I did as a matter of fact it I listed my first item on my birthday, at that time dog clothes on eBay was only about 3 pages long so no matter what I listed, it always sold. Stitch became my right hand man, and tested and modeled all of my creations and never complained. We had such a close bond that I understood him and knew what he wanted by just looking at him and he always understood what I told him and sometimes it would just blow me away.
None of my items would sell for over about $10 but that was a lot for me and I was proud, eventually I started making dog dresses, it took some fine tuning but I finally got the pattern right. So as the months passed Stitch became my best friend, my companion and a very close member of my family, we were inseparable and I never left him home. Meanwhile had found success on eBay but the dog clothes section was starting to grow more every week, competition was getting rough and some of my listings were ending without bids. I started to be more creative and put more effort into my clothes and do a lot of research on what kind of dog clothes people were looking for so I started to study websites that sold small dog clothes and found out that dog clothes like mine were selling for twice as much without the haste of re-listing and fees.
I started thinking about opening up my own website and started out with the free 2 page ones and I did get a purchase or two from my eBay customers but at that time I was also selling my shirts for a frugal $6. I did get tired of only having 2 pages for my clothes, I wanted to be more professional, since I was making extra money from eBay so I invested it into a real website, It did take a lot of work to build and even now I’m still spending many hours a week on my current site but it’s worth it.
I finally had my first real website and shortly realized that traffic doesn’t come automatically so here I go again, doing hours of research on website promotion till I found and hired a company to submit my site to a certain number of search engines for about $40 a month, I thought that’s all I would need but I was so wrong. I finally found Overture, signed up and before I knew it, I was doubling the income that I was making on eBay WITHOUT THE FEES, I canceled the monthly submissions. In 2004 I learned of Adwords, signed up and started to triple and sometimes quadruple my income in a day and haven’t sold on eBay since.
I owe it all to Stitch without him, none of this would have ever materialized, he played so many vital roles in this business and ultimately changed my life, without Stitch there would be no Princess Petwear.
Stitch passed away on 12-23-04 at 3 years old and I have yet to stop crying over his memories.
Its 2005 now and the dog clothes selection on eBay is now up to 50 pages long, I now work for my business 40+ a week and consider myself a work-at-home-mom with 4 kids, ages 13, 11, 7, 2. I still miss my Stitch, I always catch myself daydreaming of him remembering how soft his fur was and how I loved to rub my check against his face, I also find myself reminiscing on how would baby talk him and shower him with kisses and hugs, then I wipe the tears from my face and get back to work.

Title: Taichi Fitness Components
When we talk about fitness, it actually comprises of many components. In general, the fitness components can be classified into Health Related and Performance Related fitness components.
Health related fitness components are the fundamental fitness components to assess if one is physically fit, examples of health related fitness components comprise of body composition, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance and flexibility.
Performance related fitness components are more specific to the nature of the sports involved and some of the examples are power, speed, quickness agility, balance, motor skills etc. Certain sports require more priority on one particular fitness components than the other, for instance, in long distance running, cardiovascular endurance is of higher importance while having agility and power is not the main priority. This is important to be taken into consideration when designing the training program so that the correct fitness components are being well developed.
Next we will now look into the different types of fitness components that are specific to Taichi. The main Taichi fitness components involved are cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, balance, motor skills, agility and power.
Cardiovascular endurance is needed for continuous practice of Taichi. Muscular strength and endurance is also needed for executing the controlled movements of the Taichi routines and also the strength for holding the different types of weapons (sword, saber, spear, cuddle etc). Flexibility is needed for the different Taichi movements which require larger range of motions. Balance is also required for stability during movement transition and weight transfer. Agility and power are used in some of the faster and explosive movements such as the Chen's style Taichi. Motor skills are needed during Taichi movement learning and for executing proper movement sequence to achieve hand and leg coordination.
Having understood the different Taichi fitness components, we need to realize that in order to perform well in Taichi and to benefit most from practicing Taichi; these are the fitness components which we have to work at during our physical preparation phase so that we can apply them into our Taichi practice. Very often, many Taichi practitioners rely on practicing of the Taichi routines alone to train all these Taichi fitness components, which will take a much longer time to develop and even so, the result will not be as effective and many components are still left undeveloped or under developed. Without all these fitness components being well developed, one will find it difficult to achieve the technical requirements in the Taichi routines and to benefit a better quality of life from practicing Taichi.
The next question would then be on how to train these specific Taichi fitness components. One would need to have a proper and systematic training program, preferably under the guidance and personal coaching of well-qualified Taichi coaches, with the relevant sports knowledge and experience in designing such specific Taichi fitness component training.

Title: The Truth About Holistic Health
Holistic health is gaining momentum in the United States, but its definition is still a bit ambiguous. For some people holistic health means turning away from allopathic medicine and seeking wellness in alternative therapies exclusively; while others define holistic health as the act of treating a person as a whole, as opposed to simply treating the symptoms of a disease. Someone who suffers from chronic ear infections then, might be asked to take their antibiotics and perform another action to treat what is found to be the underlying cause. Perhaps acupuncture will relieve the infections, or a massage, or perhaps better posture will straighten things out.
Holistic health means looking for the problem behind the disease, viewing the disease as only a symptom of a larger condition. Holistic choices include things like eating right, exercise, acupuncture, massage, sleeping well, meditation, herbal treatments, as well as many others. It also means looking at every aspect of a person, treating their minds, bodies, and souls, no matter what the current problem may be. The best part is that the benefits can be seen overall.
While there are times that allopathic medicine must be brought in for the safety of the patient (a life-saving surgery or treatment for a very threatening illness), the goal of a holistic lifestyle is to prevent the need for these life-saving procedures in the first place. If you eat well and exercise you will probably not need a bypass surgery, like-wise if you meditate, you will not likely need medication to treat high blood pressure.
Holistic health means treating a person through all aspects of physical, mental and spiritual health, to make them as healthy as they can be. It is the creation of the "ideal" lifestyle, as far as your health is concerned because it is not only a treatment for poor health, but a lifestyle designed to preserve good health and keep you feeling your best long into your golden years.
There are many people who take holistic approaches to their care without applying a fully holistic lifestyle. These people are engaged in holistic health for short periods of time when it is convenient, they are the people who will grab McDonald's on their way to yoga, or who use massage to treat stress. This is not truly holistic health, since they are not treating the underlying causes of their problems, nor are they engaged in preventative measures such as proper nutrition and exercise. These people are engaged in activities that are employed by devotees of the holistic lifestyle, but are not members of that lifestyle themselves.
More people than ever are starting to realize the benefits of increasing their overall health and avoiding things or situations that cause their health and state of mind to deteriorate. An executive might scale back his job so that he can spend more time on healthier choices and increase his peace of mind by reducing his stress. A mother might make the choice to take herbal supplements for her diet and to cook for her family instead of going out. These are the kind of people who count to ten instead of exploding, they enjoy living well.
You cannot force yourself onto a holistic path. If it is not what you want to do, then you will stray from it. If you are willing to do the work, though, a holistic lifestyle can have many wonderful benefits.
Holistic health is the health of your body, your mind, and your soul, take care of yourself inside and out, and you will feel the benefits, and the best part is that you will live a good, long life feeling those benefits.
