Coffee Beans A coffee bean is the seed of the coffee plant, known as the pit. The pit is inside the purple or red fruit, coffee berries or coffee cherries. The fruit most commonly contain two stones with there flat sides together. Endosperm is found inside the coffee bean ,the endosperm contains caffeine. Caffeine is the main reason the plant is cultivated. Coffee beans are very important for some countries who export the product. The coffee plant ( there are ten species of the flowering plant ) are either shrubs or small trees. The plants are native to southern Asia and Africa. The seeds of the coffea plant are the source of a stimulating beverage called coffee. In the trade they are known as “beans”. Coffee beans are cultivated on plantations in tropical countries for export and local consumption. Coffee is the world’s second most valuable commodity after oil and is a major export for some countries. Coffee is a bush or small tree and when grown in the tropics can grow to a height of 10 to 12 feet. The bush or tree cannot survive a winter frost. For the plants to produce many coffee berries they need substantial amounts of water. Many species of plant can be grown for the beans, but one of the best producers is the coffea arabica. The tree produces purple or red fruits, these contain two seeds also know as coffee beans. The coffee tree will produce fruit after 3 to 5 years. Some trees have been known to grow fruits for as long as 100 years, although most trees grow fruits for 50 to 60 years. It is estimated that there are 15 billion coffee trees around the world. http://www.online-coffee-stores.com

Title: The Great Arabica Coffee Beans
Arabica coffee beans are grown in Africa, areas in Asia as well as Latin America. It is believed to be the first type of coffee beans that were harvested. It is widely grown than other type of coffee beans. Usually they can take about seven years to reach their full size. The fruits from the plants which contain the seeds are called the Arabica coffee beans. The beans must be picked at a proper time for it to produce a good cup of coffee. As we know, coffee contains caffein but the good news is that Arabica coffee has lower level of caffein compares to other types of coffee. Where are Arabica coffee best planted? The Arabica plants grow well on the steep slopes as well as the terraced highlands. The reasons being they can get the right amount of sunlight and a lot of rain. However, the coffee plants can not grow higher than thousand feet high. In a year these plants can produce about one pound of Arabica coffee per annum. Now we know how and where they are grown, let's look at how they are being processed. There are two popular ways how coffee are processed: wet and dry process. The Wet Process In wet process, the beans are harvested from the farms. From there they go through several stages before they are sold and roasted. The first major process is in the factory, where the ripe beans are separated from the unripe beans, depulped to remove the outer cover. They are then fermented in a tank to remove the Arabica coffee beans from the husk. After an adequate time when the soaking process has been completed the beans are removed and dried out in the sunshine on huge patios for about six weeks. During the daytime the coffee beans are rakes continuously so that they dries up quicker and evenly, at night they are being transported into covered buildings. The Dry Process In dry process on the other hand, the husks of the coffee are allowed to be intake after they are being harvested, no soaking in the fermented tank like in the wet process. Therefore the Arabica beans still have the husks which dry around the beans. Arabica coffee beans has different types of flavours, this however depend on where they are coming from. There are people who say that other types of coffee taste like spices, nuts a swell a chocolate. That is one of the reasons why coffee made from Arabica beans is more popular among coffee drinkers than those coffee made from Robusta coffee beans, even though the latter is cheaper. It is all about the flavor. Many coffee drinker say that Arabica coffee has the right level of acidity and the mild flavour indulges them with a great tasting cup of coffee. While the Robusta beans are criticised for having a woody and harsh acidic taste. Therefore if you would like to have a cup of great tasting and fulfiling coffee, go for Arabica coffee beans, you won't regret it for a minute.

Given the great taste match between coffee and chocolate, no wonder there is a whole variety of sweets combining the two: chocolate candies with coffee filling, chocolate covered coffee beans, chocolate and coffee cakes and so on. You really don't have to be a chef to prepare some of the most delicious of desserts: for instance chocolate covered coffee beans are easy to make at home. All you need is quality coffee beans and some chocolate chips to melt. What you have to do is drop the coffee beans in liquid chocolate, take them out and let the hot chocolate cool on a waxed surface. It is usually advisable to let them harden for at least six or eight hours before serving them or even more simply than that: use the freezer! For even more delicious flavors you may add vanilla or hazelnut powder to the liquid chocolate or you may roll the chocolate covered coffee beans through such a mix while the composition is still hot. This kind of dessert makes an excellent choice for a party treat, and you can be 100% sure the guests will appreciate it. Chocolate covered coffee beans that you make at home could be even more special if white chocolate is used for the dripping. Chips usually come in a variety of flavors: there is dark or semi-sweet chocolate that preserves the taste of roasted coffee beans unchanged. One thing you should be careful about is that the coffee beans be high quality; buy something you are familiar with or go for the grocer's recommendation. Several highly effective tricks can be made when preparing chocolate covered coffee beans: first of all, there is no restriction about using two different types of chocolate for the coating. However, make sure there are no contrasting flavors used; for instance, white milk chocolate and hazelnut dark chocolate could be the perfect combination. If you want to give the chocolate covered coffee beans a more intense cocoa flavor, you can use some extra cocoa powder to pass the candies through when they are not cool yet. Or another trick here relies on the use of mint candy powder to make the chocolate covered coffee beans a bit spicy. Regardless of the choice of ingredients, the home making of this dessert requires a lot of care concerning the temperature of the melting chocolate in which you drip the coffee beans; sometimes a steam bath is more adequate to use once the chocolate has reached the boiling point. Title: Selecting and Preserving the Best Coffee Beans for your Java

Coffee has become a booming business today, and the ground beans that fill the metal coffee cans just don’t cut it for many coffee connoisseurs any more. Avid coffee drinkers want their brews made from beans that are fresh, robust, and grown and roasted to perfection. But how many coffee lovers are well-versed in what happens to a coffee bean from the time it is grown until it ends up in your coffee maker at home? The process of growing and roasting coffee beans is a long and complex one, but the result of beans grown and harvested properly is a delicious cup of coffee every time. It is a good idea to be at least a little familiar with the process to know how to select the best coffee beans to put into your morning cup. Where do Coffee Beans Grow? While there are many countries throughout the world which grow coffee beans, the majority of our beans come from Brazil, Columbia, Indonesia and Mexico, respectively. Arabica beans tend to have the most flavor and aroma, while Robusta beans offer an earthier aroma and taste. Keeping Coffee Beans Fresh When you head to the store to buy your coffee, keep in mind that freshness of the beans is subject to when they were roasted. If you can buy your coffee beans on the day of roasting, or perhaps the day after, you will enjoy the freshest coffee possible. It is always best to buy your beans whole and grind them yourself on the day that you will use them. If you don’t have a grinder or you prefer to grind a few day’s worth at once, you can store your coffee in the freezer to help keep your coffee beans as fresh as possible until you use them. If you like to order your coffee beans from companies on the Internet, you can ask the company about its policies in shipping and roasting. Some companies will ship out beans the day that they are roasted to ensure the maximum freshness possible. Roland Parris Jefferson III is an online researcher based out of Los Angeles, California. Title: How Do Coffee Grinders Work?
A Trip to the grocery store and a walk down the coffee aisle, is where you'll see coffee grinders and coffee beans. The coffee grinder has become all so very popular for home use and popularity of espresso and other coffee drinks has blown out of coffee proportion in the last two decades. Coffee shops keep popping up every where and the need of many coffee drinkers to grind their own coffee beans in their coffee grinders. Coffee grinders will grind roasted coffee beans into tiny little grounds that are either fine or coarse. By grinding your own coffee, its totally up to you on how you like it best. Coffee grinders will produce fine or medium grounds which are best for old style coffee makers. Those who love espresso will want to grind the beans into a fine grind, similar to sugar or salt. Coarse coffee grounds are good for percolators or vacuum brewers. Coffee grinders come in two main types. The first type of many coffee grinders use rotating steel blades. These blades on the coffee grinders chop up the coffee beans, making it o-so-nice for you. The bladed coffee grinders allow the coffee lover to control the type of grounds. The type of grounds the bladed coffee grinder makes depends on how long you grind the beans. Other types of coffee grinders uses a grinder wheel. This is called a burr grinder. To get coarse or fine grounds, you move the burr on the coffee grinder. Many people say this type of coffee grinder allows you more control as to the type of grounds you make. The price of a burr grinder really depends on the type of wheel, whether it is flat or cone-shaped. The burr coffee grinder with the cone-shaped wheel rotates slowly and the coffee grinder will plug up less frequently. If you chose coffee grinders that work in two different ways. Manual coffee grinders come with a crank on the side. (this is the old-fashion way) You have to crank the handle manually until all the coffee beans are grounded. If you don’t want to do that much work to have freshly ground coffee, you should probably shop around for electric coffee grinders. Electric coffee grinders are the most popular coffee grinder on the market today. Many electric coffee grinders are small and inexpensive so you can carry them anywhere to grind a perfect cup of coffee. There are advantages to grinding your own coffee with coffee grinders. You can grind coffee that suits your taste and not rely on pre-packaged coffee grounds. Coffee grinders can be found in most stores and online. A coffee grinder can range in price from about $20 to several hundred dollars. The coffee beans can be purchased at grocery stores or at a specialty coffee shop. How you want your coffee to taste and the type of coffee you brew is all up to you. Are you looking for the perfect cup of coffee? Title: Tips for keeping your coffee beans fresh
There are actually various different tips on what requires be done and what not to be done with your coffee beans especially for storing purpose. From past few years all starting from freezing to packaging of coffee is tremendously been considered. Most of the people tend to purchase coffee beans and get confused about the following questions: • How should I store it? • Where can I protect it? • What is the longing period for my coffee? • How storing coffee is different from storing beans? According to an article reviewed by National Coffee Association U.S.A (NCAUSA), the most excellent way to keep your coffee beans fresh is to keep it “sealed (airtight) and cool”. Preserving the freshness of coffee beans could be a complex task, because freshness gets worn out very quickly in unwarranted air, moisture, light or other wise heat. So keep your coffee beans in sealed glass or ceramic jug and then put it in a chilly as well as in the dark place. If you obtain your coffee beans in a bag or a container, which is not airtight you would have to put them in a sealed container and use them as quickly as possible. Quantity to be purchased You could purchase any quantity of coffee you want, providing you are going to use it within three or four weeks after you open it. The mainly momentous thing you should to keep in mind is about purchasing large amount is this: Once the coffee bag is unsealed it needs to be used within three or four weeks. Store it in a sealed jug during that time. Airtight bags or cans are fine; you just require keeping them in a cool and dark place. Freezing of coffee beans You may come across many special articles and effective opinions on freezing your coffee beans. Here are few things you require to remember: Beans are very durable by their own nature. When you are freezing coffee beans you are in fact locking it in humidity and stopping the chemical process. Once you take away those beans from freezer, you are letting them thaw out completely: this would take for about 4 hours. Further do take care to keep away from moisture buildup on the exterior on your coffee beans, this is known as abridgment and occurs when warm moist air comes in contact with a freezing surface. So, in a short – avoid freezing, but if you do, follow our dos and don'ts and you would preserve your freshness of coffee beans. Title: Specialty Stores Carry Gourmet Coffee
When creating decaffeinated coffee the European process involves having the beans soaked in water and washing the beans with methylene chloride. The treated beans are then dried and roasted. Gourmet coffee beans from this plant are usually harvested from this tree three times a year for 30 years. Gourmet coffee made from the beans of this plant tastes great and holds a premium position in the market. Gourmet coffees from Arabica coffee beans boast of a finer aroma, richer flavor, and more body than those made from Robusta beans. The Robusta beans on the other hand, are known for their disease-resistance properties and are more popularly used in commercial blends. People enjoy the taste of the sophisticated beans used in the making of this delightful gourmet drink. When purchasing coffee beans from different areas they all go through the same type of process. Beans are picked, dried, and sorted pretty much the same way. The coffee and tea market has become so popular that the exports of some countries are coffee and tea alone, we spend more than $20 billion a year on coffee, that is a lot of coffee. No seems to disagree that a cup of gourmet coffee is definitely better than and average blend of coffee. Gourmet flavored coffee lovers just don’t seem to get enough from their coffee desire. Gourmet flavored coffee is becoming very popular and many people are like the different flavors that have been coming out in the market place. If you would like to appreciate a cup of gourmet coffee, take some time to taste other coffees and compare, make sure you use the fresh beans to compare them equally. There are gourmet flavored coffees that are caffeinated and those that are decaffeinated. Some of the newest gourmet flavored coffee includes vanilla, macadamia, and even peanut butter. Gourmet coffees come in so many different flavors like Toasted Almond, French Vanilla, and Hazelnut. If you want to try something a little out of the ordinary then you can try one of the flavored varieties. When preparing coffee it should be prepared from the bean that is fresh, instead of having the bean ground for you take the time to do it when you want to drink the coffee. Usually you need a machine to do this and espresso really brings about the right flavour of the coffee beans. Espresso is black coffee and requires a stream of steam which is passed over the coffee beans. Gourmet espresso beans make excellent gifts for all occasions, especially if your recipient is a certified coffee lover. When brewing an espresso this method needs the least amount of time to prepare but need the beans ground very fine to get the taste just right. You can find espresso machines at any wholesale store or online and you can purchase the gourmet beans at any specialty store or online There are many coffee shops that have popped up and they seem like they are on every street corner and they sell coffee beans, you can also find these gourmet beans in supermarkets or specialty shops. Title: How to Make a Great Tasting Cup of Coffee - It''s Not Rocket Science
There is good coffee and absolutely abysmal coffee. Both may start with the same elements, but one cup can taste completely different to another. Freshness is the key to great tasting coffee. Here is the play by play smackdown of how to create a fantastic tasting cup of coffee. 1. Use good beans. Go to a local coffee roaster and buy only enough coffee beans to last you a week. Buying fresh beans is one key to good taste. When you buy beans make sure the beans are all relatively the same size and same color for even grinding and flavor. If you buy beans from the supermarket at minimum, check to see if the beans are Arabica. 2. Use filtered water. Even if your coffee maker has a charcoal filter it is best to start off with filtered water to ensure there are no impurities like chlorine or minerals to alter the real taste. Use cold water. 3. For the best tasting coffee ensure you have a coffee maker which can brew up to 95 to 98 degrees Celsius, just off the boil. This temperature is the optimal temperature to get the best flavor out of the bean. 4. The grind. Only grind as much coffee as you are going to need for that moment. The finer you grind, the more flavor you will receive. The grind has to be even to ensure even taste. If you are using a cheap coffee maker you should only use a medium grind to avoid the over-extraction. However, grind to your equipment’s recommendations. 5. Use two level tablespoons of coffee per cup. If you are making more than 10-cups of coffee you should use the strength meter on its highest position possible to allow more water to penetrate the grounds evenly. 6. Use unbleached coffee filters or ensure your permanent filter is free from all coffee sludge. When it comes to coffee, cleanliness is next to Godliness. 7. Stir the pot. Once the coffee is brewed, stir the pot to infuse the taste. At bare minimum, these steps should always be used when making coffee. Think about the farmer’s in the field, if you skip a step are you doing their hard work justice? On a selfish note, missing one of those steps will affect the taste of your coffee, even slightly. Other things to make a great cup of coffee are: 1. Always ensure your equipment is clean. Old coffee sludge can really change the taste of coffee. Polident can clean your equipment to almost new. 2. NEVER reuse coffee grinds. 3. NEVER grind beans just taken out of the freezer. Let them thaw first. 4. Always store coffee in air-tight containers away from direct sunlight. 5. NEVER leave the coffee on a heater for longer than ½ an hour. It gets a burnt taste and smell. 6. Always warm your cup and never reheat coffee. The best coffee starts with fresh beans, clean equipment and clean water. Adhering to at least those three guidelines will give you great tasting coffee. Everything else is just gravy.
