Platform Drupal is a multi-platform software supporting all major Operating systems. It runs equally well on Apache or IIS, Unix / Linux / BSD / Solaris / Windows / Mac OS X. Multi-language Targeting an international audience, Drupal has been designed as Multilanguage software. As such Drupal meets the requirements of developers and users worldwide and provides the right framework to create a multi-lingual website, blog, and content management system or community application. It provides a graphical user interface along with GNU gettext for the translation of texts.

Drupal Modules Drupal has been developed as a modular framework which allows the addition of pluggable modules for additional functionalities. The Drupal community developed modules have contributed to the expansion of its functions in the areas of taxonomy display, jabber authentication, private messages, bookmarks, the Amazon Items module, work-flow, photo galleries, mailing list management, and CVS integration.

Personalization Drupal also supports a robust personalization environment. The user is allowed to customize both the content and the presentation in a Drupal website.

Role based permission system Drupal does not provide permissions for each user. Here, permissions are assigned to roles and various role groups.

Themes The Drupal themes in general are written in the PHPTemplate engine or the XTemplate engine. Since the introduction of 5.1 version, these two templates are being used to create Drupal themes. This inclusion has helped it to become technically less complicated and more design oriented.

Blogger API support Drupal is supported by Blogger API which ensures that Drupal site can be updated by many different tools including the non-web browser based tools that provides richer editing results.

News aggregator It comes with a built-in News Aggregator for reading and blogging news from other sites and adding them to your MySQL database with a user configurable caching time. This is a great way of keeping track of your news even when you're offline for a few days.

Drupal websites are particularly good at creating company intranets, online classrooms, social interaction communities with gallery of images, and project management. If you think, drupal is what can fulfill your website requirements, contact a commercial web hosting service provider who can host a Drupal website for you.

Billing Software, Free and Open this Time

J Billing 2006-12-21
Title: Billing Software, Free and Open this Time
Billing is one important area of all small and big businesses. Billing software market is crowded that choice of one becomes so difficult for a start up business owner. The question is will billing software survives the flood of software suits or packages offered by small and big software developing companies.

It should. The problem open software community today faces is the lack of skills or interest to learn the basics of programming and working of programs.

People also seek comfort zones all the time. We all live in an age of instant gratification and we are hardly programmed to wait or try hard to get something. This is the general trend and they will go for easily available packaged solutions, instead of trying to learn what it is about the working behind the things they see.

Needless to say a billing cum accounting system will, to a great extent take the load of learning accounting from your shoulders. With Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) the modern mantra, it is quite understandable if a few companies have taken the initiative to make major inroads into the field of free open source billing software.

It is necessary for the user to have a basic coding and programming knowledge to tweak the pieces of software to a workable suite. Then again the attempts in that direction should be recognized.

When introducing an open-source billing software, it is sure to be met with much skepticism and prejudices. No open source software is an exception. The whole hearted attempts from skilful people keep the trend alive.

A recent addition to free software, specifically billing software is JBilling, located at http://www.jbilling.com/. The open source software works with all major operating systems and supports My SQL, Postgre SQL and Hypersonic. It runs on JBOSS. It is thus a 100% free open source billing system that supports recurring billing, automatic payment processing using credit cards etc. It also handles web-based interface directly with end customers.

The software thus easily becomes an alternative to proprietary billing systems.

Software Testing & Its Functionality

Shyamolima Mutsuddi 2006-12-04
Title: Software Testing & Its Functionality
Software testing is the technical process used to recognize the correctness, completeness, security, and quality of developed computer software. Software testing is executed to display quality-related information about a tested product. Software testing is a vital part of software quality assurance. Some of the common quality attributes of a product a tester looks for are capability, reliability, efficiency, portability, maintainability, compatibility and usability. A good test not only bring out errors, it also displays interesting informations new to a project community. Software testing play a crucial strategic role for transporting the quality of the product higher in the hierarchy in the software development process. It also underlines the customer's requirements all the way through the product cycle.

Some of the vital software testing procedures involved in testing a product are functional testing, negative testing, customer scenario testing, stress testing, performance testing, scalability testing, international testing, and more. The sole purpose of software testing is to assure that customers receive maximum product quality.

Some of the common types of testing a test engineer consider while testing a product are Black box testing White box testing incremental integration testing functional testing system testing end-to-end testing sanity testing or smoke testing regression testing acceptance testing acceptance testing performance testing usability test inginstall/uninstall testing recovery testing failover testing security testing exploratory testing ad-hoc testing mutation testing and more

Though all projects are profited from testing, some projects generally don't need independent test staff. The requirement of test stuffs depend upon the size and context of the project, the risks, the development methodology, the developer's skill and experience and more. A short term, low risk project handled by experienced programmers employing unit testing or test-first development do not need test engineers. Considering the different goals in software testing, different roles are established for software testers. They are test lead/manager, tester, test designer, test automater/automation developer and test administrator.

Your Community and Your Mortgage Business

Tom Domin 2006-11-19
Title: Your Community and Your Mortgage Business
Your Community and Your Mortgage Business

One of the most overlooked marketing opportunities available to mortgage professionals is the involvement in their very own community. There are countless choices and causes that you can use as an avenue in your marketing program.

The advantage of community involvement marketing is that it actually develops for you a community presence or community personality. People want to buy from friends and when you are part of a community, you become a friend. You separate yourself from the hordes of strangers and become a real giving person. Marketing through the community also gives you unlimited opportunities to take on marketing relationships, partners, and affiliates.

Community involvement can take many forms. Here are some simple ways you can improve your community:

1. Offer your mortgage expertise and knowledge to a local charity as part of their fund-raising program.

2. Sponsor a little league team, a bicycle race, a 5K or 10K race, or even a clean-up campaign for a not-so beautiful section of your city.

3. Sponsor an essay contest, an art contest, or a contribution campaign to a local charity.

4. Help your church raise funds; write articles for their newsletters, posting signs on their bulletin boards, and advertising in their local paper.

5. Participate in local clubs and civic organizations by becoming an active member.

6. Adopt-a-school or schools to keep teachers and parents informed of the status of local sex offenders, child molesters and pedophiles. Create a monthly newsletter or notice that keeps parents and teachers informed. This is a hot topic and most certainly needed. You would be performing a great service.

Your community definitely needs your help. It needs your time and effort, your participation, and your hard work. It isn’t a matter of signing up for a committee and then standing on the side-lines and doing nothing. It means rolling up your selves, getting involved and busting your butt for your community.

People in your community will quickly recognize your hard work and dedication. They’ll assume that you’ll even work harder for them and will be attracted to your mortgage marketing message. Many mortgage professionals have flourished using this concept, and for many it’s the only marketing they’ll ever need.

Drive through your community on a regular basis and be on the look out for new opportunities and ideas that will help your community. There are many there...you just need to look for them.

How to Start Your Blogging Community

Jason Parker 2006-05-28
Title: How to Start Your Blogging Community
The following article about creating your own thriving blogging community is massive, so you may have to brew some coffee. The great thing is that, whether you’re a decent or great writer and whether you know little or nothing about content management software, you’ll still be able to pull this off. Here’s how:

Contents

  • Your Idea
  • Creating the Blog Community
  • Promoting the Community With Little (or No) Money
  • Random Useful Tactics & Tools

    Your Idea

I think the reason most blogging communities fail is because they have poor ideas behind them. I find new blogging communities about each day that either have very little users and guest or they simply have horrible articles.

There can be several reasons for this failure. The community has a bad name, it doesn’t offer enough AdSense revenue to its authors, it states you can make thousands of dollars just by posting each day, it has a weak design, its base content written by the owner is not good, it talks down to writers, and on and on…

So think hard about the idea for your community. What domain name or title for a blogging community would move you? Why would you want to write at your site?

    5 Tips

    • Stray away from using the word “blog” too much in your introduction and user guide. Even though there is a massive blogsphere, most people either still don’t know what a blog is or they think it’s a diary. You could replace the word “blog” with “articles,” for instance.
    • Try to create a community that would be appealing to good writers, preferably freelance writers. At our community, http://wn.goldenprose.com>WriteNiche , we have freelance writing jobs feeds on the sidebar of each page.
    • Don’t make your site look like a scam. Be truthful about how much a writer can earn at your site through AdSense sharing or whatever program you might be wanting to use. For instance, don’t call your site Make Bucks Blogging or something like that, and don’t have a title saying, “Will you be the next millionaire blogger?” You simply wont get good writers. Freelance writers especially want to be at a blogging community with a professional atmosphere, and about the writing spirit. Some sites are thriving using techniques such as this, but almost all fail. The ones that are big are run by educated marketers who really know what the #&^% they’re doing.
    • Be generous with your ad revenue sharing. This is just plain morality. Be fair to writers and give them a real chance to make loot.
    • Come up with original ideas to fuel your site. Hold writing contests, have a writer of the month… these are both decent original ideas.

      Creating the Blog Community

First you’ll need to find a reasonable hosting service that includes at least one MySQL database in the package and preferably a free domain. If you think you might have a hard time installing blogging software using your database or if you have an old computer with little memory, you might consider using http://www.siteground.com>SiteGround web hosting, $5 per month, and they’ll install your software for you.

I’m mainly familiar with the http://www.drupal.org>drupal open source (free but powerful) content management software—so I’m going to suggest that you use it as well. They have a handbook and forum on their site for your convenience. Open another browser and take a look at the drupal.org handbook now, but don’t get overwhelmed!

Once you have drupal installed at your blogging community, you’ll need to configure it, find a neat theme, and upload any modules you may want such as the AdSense revenue sharing module.

      3 Steps

      1) Basic Configuration

First things first, login and click “administer” under the navigation menu. Now click “modules.” Add checkmarks for any pre-installed modules you’ll want active on your site. You’ll definitely want to activate “personal blog.”

Next, under “administer,” click “access control” and give access to particular module features to registered users and non-users.

Next, under “administer,” click “settings” and fill in the information about your community—title, slogan, etc.

      Now that wasn’t so bad!

      2) Your Theme

Go to drupal.org and click the link for “themes.” If you’re using SiteGround web hosting, login, and click “Fantastico” then “Drupal” at the left sidebar. At the bottom it should tell you which version of drupal is installed at your site.

Let’s say you have drupal 4.6.5, the only themes that will comply with your blogging community are 4.6 themes. Therefore, go to the “themes” page at drupal and filter all posts to “4.6.”

A large page of themes will appear. If you’re wanting to use the AdSense revenue sharing module, you’ll probably want a theme that requires the phptemplate engine.

Found the one you want? Now download the 4.6 version. Also, download the 4.6 version of the phptemplate engine by clicking on one of the links containing the exact same name.

You’ll have to extract the compressed files using a program like http://www.winzip.com>WinZip . WinZip offers a free 45-day trial of their software, so if you don’t have it, go to the site and download it before you do anything else.

Now go back to your web hosting and to your file manager. Click the folder that reads, “public_html.” Click the folder that is the name of your domain. Click “themes.”

Click “engines.” Create a folder called “phptemplate.” Now upload the files for the phptemplate into the folder.

Now click “up one level.” Create a folder that is the name of your theme. Upload the contents of your theme into this folder. If you have any folders within your template files—such as “images”—be sure to create a folder within the template folder. And upload the appropriate files into that folder.

Go back to your community and click “administer.” Click “themes” and select the theme you just installed. Click “configure” next to the name of your theme. Upload a logo if you have one, and set the options how you’d like them.

      Very good!

      3) Modules

Go to drupal.org and click “Modules.” Just as with the themes and engine, filter the modules for the version of your installed drupal software. Find all the features you’d like for your community. Some are hard to install while some are easy. I’m only going to be talking about installing the AdSense Module since it’s probably the one you really want.

Download the correct version for the AdSense Module and extract the files. Go back to your file manager at your web hosting service. Click “public_html” then click the folder that is your domain name. Click the “modules” folder and upload the adsense.module file.

Go back to your blogging community and go under “administer.” Click “modules” and activate the AdSense module.

Click “settings.” Look again at your navigation menu, and you’ll see that “adsense” is now listed beneath “settings.” Click on it.

Put in your pub-id, set the revenue sharing rates, and check “Disable AdSense Ads” until you have finished setting up the site and it has at least one piece of content. But let there be placeholders where ads will be.

Go under “administer” and click on “blocks.” Add a new block. Do not add a title for the very top. Within the body, place this code:

Set the block to accept PHP code. Type “AdSense” into next text box. Create the block.

Now arrange all your blocks for your site. The greater the number (in weight), the higher up the blocks will appear. The AdSense block works best if somewhere in the left column.

You don’t have to use all the blocks. We’ll get more into that in the last section, but go ahead and set the blocks you want where you want them.

Now you’ll want to place AdSense ads into your blog entries. This time you may want to use this code:

You can use any size AdSense ad, but this one seems to work pretty well, and it doesn’t stretch the pages to the point that you can’t see the columns.

Go under you “file manager” at your web host. Click “public_html.” Click “themes.” Click on the folder that is your theme. Edit the file that reads “node.tpl.php.” It’ll look something like the following. Copy and paste your AdSense ad code directly where I’ve highlighted, in between the content and links. You may have to do a little trial and error with yours. Just create a test blog entry and see if the ad holder is displayed.

      ">

      Posted in by on

That about does it with the AdSense module. Some other modules don’t require tampering with the code…

If you have any knowledge of HTML, you also ought to take a look at the style.css file and find your color codes. Then go under “administrator”>”adsense” and put in color codes that match your site’s color scheme.

      Concluding Creating the Blog Community

Your site should now be configured at the most basic level and technically ready for use. Mess around under “administer” play with the software a bit, and you’ll get the hang of the rest of it. Make sure your site is truly ready to go before you announce its launch. Use the drupal.org forum and refer to the handbook if you run into trouble.

Promoting the Community With Little (or No) Money

Assuming you’ve set up your blogging community to the point in which it’s ready to be launched, let’s talk about promoting. It can be difficult getting your site rolling in a short amount of time, but it’s highly possible. After all, blogs are naturally viral.

If you know any writers, the first thing to do is invite them to help you get your spiffy site going. You’ll also want to write at your own community, even under different names, until you have enough users to where there’re around 5 to 10+ new articles posted per day. You might also want to write at your community later on.

Once there’s a couple pages of content, start putting out ads for writers at the craigslist sites, the http://www.freelancewriting.com/jobbank>FreelanceWriting.com Jobbank , forums, or wherever else you can recruit. This all should give your community a good spark.

      Social Bookmarking

One way to get a great deal of hits and your posts in search engines without your site yet being listed is by submitting to social bookmark sites. Social bookmark sites were created so that you can bookmark your favorite posts on the web and share them with readers. So don’t just bookmark 30 articles in one hour. Spread the time out.

Some of the popular bookmarking sites include del.icio.us, blinklist, and blogmarks. There are many more.

One great social bookmarking tool to use is called http://www.onlywire.com>OnlyWire . It’s a free service that sends your bookmarks out to 15+ sites at the click of one button! You should also submit to http://www.reddit.com>reddit . You can expect swarms of traffic from reddit, but I’m warning you, the users—not necessarily all the readers coming in—but just most of the users are total bastards. I’m not joking either. You shouldn’t even check your comments from them. They’re usually cruel and negative. I don’t know why they’re such harsh critics.

Furthermore, teach your users of your community to use these services and sites.

      Pinging

With the drupal software, you have a ping module. Definitely activate it, because it’ll send pings out to all these sites who’ll send visitors your way.

Also, go to http://www.technorati.com>Technorati and claim your blog so that it’ll show as pings at their site.

While you’re at Technorati, learn to use Technorati tags on blogs, and teach your users of your site to use them. By placing Technorati tags on their blogs, their posts will show up on particular pages. This is especially great for hot topics.

      Long-Term Promoting

The single most important thing to focus on for long-term success with your blogging community is link popularity and getting listed in search engines.

Go to http://www.submitexpress.com>SubmitExpress to automatically submit your site to 30+ search engines for free. That should take care of your listings. However, it may take a great deal of time to be acknowledged by Google.

Back to link popularity… You need to get your link on related websites. This is the only way your site will ever come up high in search engines. Blogs are naturally good for search engine optimization, so all you really have to focus on is link popularity.

One way to get your link around is to submit your best articles to ezines/reprint directories such as http://www.ezinearticles.com>ezinearticles.com . Make sure to include the html link to your blogging community at the bottom of your article because your article will be reprinted on several sites, thus, raising your link popularity.

You’ll also want to ask owners of related sites high up in the search engines to link to you. Be sure to tell them the great things about your site. This is definitely the hardest part of link popularity, trying to get linked on big sites. So if you can get your link on one decent ranked site per month, you’re doing swell.

If your site has a lot to offer, over time other sites will naturally link to you.

      Random Useful Tactics & Tools

The following are some random techniques and tools that may be helpful for you.

      • Don’t show off how much traffic you’re getting when you first create your blogging community, because there’s nothing to show off. Try not to use hit counters, use the drupal block that displays how many guests are online, use buttons that say your Alexa traffic rank, etc.
      • Embed an invisible free http://www.statcounter.com>StatCounter script into one of your blocks, then check often to see how much traffic you’re getting and where it’s coming from.
      • Use http://www.alexa.com>Alexa to keep up with your traffic rank. Generally, anything in the top 100,000 is excellent.
      • Check your link popularity using http://www.submitexpress.com/linkpop/>Submit Express’ tool .
      • Color code your AdSense ads to match your theme colors. Us who use the net are used to not even looking at ads. When they are color coded along with your theme, users are likely to find themselves accidentally taking a look, and if the ad is good, they’ll probably click on it.
      • There’s an abnormally long free list of top paying AdSense keywords at http://www.top-paying-keywords.eu/A.html>top-paying-keywords .
      • Post regular announcements at your blogging community to keep users up to date with the status of the site and new features, etc.
      • There’re a lot of negative and harsh critics out there, but don’t let them get you down. There’s an old saying, “Don’t read your own press.”
      • You might want to make your blogging community an ezine and let other sites use your articles if they link back to your site. This will help your site’s link popularity in the long-term without doing hardly anything. If you do this, make sure to state it in the TOS for users to read and maybe create a block about it for website publishers to view.
      • Once your blogging community gets popular, you can use other ad services (if you choose non-contextual ads) such as http://www.adbrite.com>AdBrite alongside your AdSense ads. You can also display affiliate links from sites such as http://www.cj.com>Commission Junction or http://www.amazon.com>Amazon . But you won’t want to overdo advertisements. It might aggravate readers.

Internet traffic increases by the day. All kinds of activities are performed and communication and chatting are some of the most popular pastimes. Ever thought of looking at community software? There are many websites now that offer all you need to set up your own dating website for instance with matchmaking software. The packages include a tremendous amount of material: chat room and message facilities, customizable templates, sms text messaging and links, and a whole lot more.

Using matchmaking software has enabled all kinds of community sites to be set up. From Asian dating sites, gay sites, specialized topic sites for those with a shared interest or hobby, it is one of the most preferred ways of bringing people with like interests together.

Before you invest in buying any type of community software on the net, you can usually sample a free demo first so you know what you are buying. The packages are able to handle thousands of members so size is of no consequence. You get free technical support and a ten day free trial with full refund if you are not totally satisfied with the product.

If you buy community software on line, you can be up and running in twenty minutes. Everything is user friendly and made easy to understand. Many sites claim you can also make money from your site. Advertising can bring in good returns as advertisers can home into a related topics pertaining to the content or aim of the site and the type of people who would use it. Money can also be earned with promotion banners, affiliating to other networks and advertising email.

The types of subject matter and people categories are endless for this kind of idea. What’s more, the world becomes a smaller place and members can come together from all over the world. It is truly amazing, for instance, how chat rooms get you in the know and meet people with shared subjects. It doesn’t necessarily have to be matchmaking software you purchase, you could be a fan of a certain rock band, have special interest in a historical subject, or just want to meet friends. It’s your call-there are one hell of a lot of people out there, just waiting to be contacted!

Richard Yates has met so many friends around the world with the site he formulated for Beatle mania, he says he could travel to any major country in the world and stay free with friends he has met.

TikiWiki is in the fifth year of its lifespan and already it helped to build up thousands of websites & Intranets. This confirms the point that Tiki is an extremely powerful application.

Loads of features and a large community of contributors characterize TikiWiki.
As open source software, many programmers with different skill level have changed, modified, and improved the solution.

Over 250 people have contributed to Tiki via CVS. This is a proof of the software’s scalability. It's developed by a large number of contributors from all over the world which forms the Tiki Community. Currently it boasts of 12379 registered users and 259 developers at this site.

No other Open Source projects boast of the contributions of as many contributors. Add to it countless others who have helped it improve by providing support in the areas of tech support, testing, documentation, etc. The huge contribution record proves that TikiWiki community provides a friendly platform for accessing to other people, sharing ideas among them and getting help wherever necessary. Most of the community members try to come up with the assistance that was asked from them.

Thus it is basically the supportive community that helped the software to be what it is today; a powerful wiki-based Content Management System (CMS), Groupware, Blogging System, Image/File Gallery, Bug Tracker and GeoCMS. Powered by PHP, ADOdb and Smarty and released as a Free Open Source Software under LGPL, it can be used to create all sorts of web applications, sites, portals, intranets and extranets.

TikiWiki community is a ragtag community of developers. It is not sponsored by a large business like other commercial projects. It is true that many Tiki developers have spun their own consultancy businesses around Tiki, still, decisions are made in the best interest of the community. Decisions are never guided by the narrow interests of individual business.

The TikiWiki community is always working in the direction of making Tiki more and more user-friendly. TikiWiki is not run on dedicated servers as root; the TikiWiki community claims to always consider the concerns of the users on a budget.

Community Plumbing---made Possible With Drupal Community Features

Title: Community Plumbing---made Possible With Drupal Community Features

Till the end of the last millennium, the internet could not provide us with far reaching applications for having discussions and sharing files. This led Dries--- the coder of Drupal--- still a student of Antwerp University to develop a small news site with a built-in web board, for exchanging messages with a close group of friends.
After the group graduated from the college, they put this internal website online so they could stay in touch and Dries chose Drop.org as its domain name. The word was chosen to reflect the community aspects of the application, as ‘drop’ in Dutch language means village or small community.

In the turn of new millennium, the internet technology advanced by leap and bound and suddenly everybody seemed to start talking about such advanced web technologies, such as moderation, syndication, rating, and distributed authentication.

The Drop.Org became a live experimentation ground of newly emerging web technologies and the software behind Drop.org incorporated them all to emerge as the rich feature packed tool to support community driven website. Finally, in 2001, the software was released with the name of Drupal as a Modular and extensible software to power strong online communities.

There are two major community features that make Drupal the first choice for setting up social networking communities, corporate intranet sites, e-commerce sites or e-learning classrooms.

Cache support
The caching mechanism is mainly used to reducing the server's load. The drupal sites use this mechanism to shake off the percentage of loads from the busy servers. As a result the page generation times increases.

You will understand the necessity of this mechanism from this fact: on very busy sites, hundreds or thousands of pages are viewed per minute. Now every time a page request is sent, dozens of queries are made to the database to pull out the required information. This is a huge task; it may start to slow down the server to the point of crawling. Thus Drupal’s Cache feature helps the busy sites a lot in reducing the pressure in data recovery and by speeding up the process of page generation.

Comments on content
Addition of comment feature is the first step to creating a community driven website for supporting community dialogue.

The Drupal websites allow an administrator to assign comment permissions to user groups. In Drupal websites, each comment board has a control panel so that users can customize the way that comments are displayed. This control includes the chronological ordering of posts and the number of posts to be displayed on each page.

Drupal treats comments more or less like other user submissions and allows the use of filters, smileys and HTML in the comments.

It also provides for new comments alert system. It allows the administrator to turn over comment moderation to the community.

Other community features include: Blogger API support, Content syndication, News aggregator and Permalink.

• The Blogger API feature allows the Drupal sites to be updated by different non-web browser based tools for richer editing environment.

• Content syndication allows the Drupal sites to export site's content in RDF/RSS format across the web for a greater viewrship.

• The powerful built-in News Aggregator helps in reading and blogging news from other sites.

• All Drupal contents carry a permanent link or "permalink" feature allowing people to link it freely without fear of broken links.

This easy to install and simple to use software have been the first choice of many of traffic catchers in the web---it is now your turn to adopt it for your website and make your presence felt in the cyber world.

Dating Software Reviews

Title: Dating Software Reviews

So you have decided to start a dating or community site. First of all you begin crawling the Web in search of dating software reviews, good or bad, you google for the dating software titles to see something about them.

I would like to share my ideas on this very interesting topic: can you find an objective dating software review online or not when you are going to buy a dating software package.

First of all, about myself. I am a web marketologyst from one of the Chech cities, not long ago I was fired from one of the dating software development companies. I am not angry at them at all, so there will be no bad words against them and so on. I will just tell you what I know about dating software development process, also dating software reviews and so on. I will categorize my ideas and put them under numbers. Sorry for my English by the way.

1) All good dating software reviews are written by the dating software developers.

It may seem strange at first, but it will not seem strange if you think about it. Imagine you have bought a good dating software package. You have set it up, it works ok, you have gathered 600 000 users and you earn 10 000$ a day on this site. You know that competition in this branch is very severe, there are thousands of dating sites.

Are you sure you will be posting good reviews about your dating software? So that more and more people started sites like yours? And took members and money from you?
I am not sure you will. Moreover, answering questions like: what dating script are you using on your site? you will tell some other titles. Imagine finding a gold mine, will you try to lead more and more people to it? No. Never.

Just read the good dating software reviews. They are always clumsy and contain no exact data. They all sound like: It is a great software! I like it very much! As if they talk not about dating software, means of business, but about a flower. No reports about money making, members, visits. Those who work on this keep silent.

If you buy a program for listeting to MP3 music and you like it you will tell your friend about it. If you buy a program and you make 10 000$ a day on it you tell no one about it. Or you are not an ordinary businessman.

2) All so called "independent" dating software review forums are backed by dating software developers.

If you look closer at most of the "independent" dating software forums (will not give names or links), you will see that there is a definite emphasis on one or two dating software products. They are praised and discussed eagerly. The others are either almost not discussed or discussed, but in so bad words that after reading it you will not want to buy it in any case. So this is their goal actually. And they achieve it. Please just look at the forum more closely and you will understand what I mean. There are NO independent dating or dating software forums. Never.

3) All bad reviews are written by the dating software developer's competetors.

Imagine you have tried a dating software package and find it absolutely bad. You buy another one and are completely happy about it. Are you sure you will post bad dating software reviews? Or you will want more and more people use this bad software and lose hope in dating business and go out of it completely? Or you will tell everyone please do not use this bad dating software please use this one I have bought it is good I earn a lot of money on it? Never. And imagine now you are a dating software developer. Will you post bad reviews about your competetors? Sure! It is much simpler than inventing new features.

And the newer, the better and the richer in features is the script, the angrier and severer are the comments, about poor support, numerous bugs, not optimized quieries, and the comments are finished with something pathetic like: I will not wish this to the worst enemy! or Please beware of it! Really! So eagerly want the customers that at least somebody else made money on a good dating software package.

So what should you do? If you want to understand which dating or community software is good or bad the only way is looking at the demo. Just walk all around it, ask questions, look at code samples. Look at as many dating software demos as you can, compare features, design, usability. Or ask your close friend if the dating software he has bought is ok.

But are you sure you are such close friends that he will share his income with you? :-)
