The city of Salford paid tribute to L.S Lowry by building an art gallery on Salford Quay and aptly named it The Lowry. This gallery has a permanent public display of L.S Lowry’s work, housing around 350 of his paintings and drawings. The City of Salford houses the largest public collection to be displayed regularly in a gallery. Many public and private collections of L.S Lowry’s work are on show in Great Britain and the United States of America. Laurence Stephen Lowry produced up to a thousand paintings and well over eight hundred drawings. During his lifetime L.S Lowry was awarded with an honorary Master of Arts degree which was presented by Manchester University. He was also given an honorary Doctor of Letters by both the University of Salford and The University of Liverpool. In 1965 L.S Lowry was awarded the prestigious Freedom of the City of Salford. He also holds the record for the most declines of honours awards and by the end of his life it had reached the total of five. He turned down the offer of an OBE in 1955, a CBE in 1961 and a knighthood 1968. He also declined twice to accept the CH award in both 1972 and 1976. Five famous L.S Lowry paintings were stolen on the 2nd May 2007. Furthermore none of the paintings have ever been recovered. Two of the paintings, The Viaduct and The Tanker Entering the Tyne were valued at being worth at least £120,000. The Viaduct and The Tanker Entering the Tyne were the most expensive paintings to be stolen. Three more valuable paintings were stolen, The Surgery, The Bridge at Ringley and The Street Market were also taken in the heist. The Lowry in Salford also exhibit’s the famous painting ‘Going to the Match’ which is owned by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). Title: Thinking About Hiring A Tribute Band? Don''t Get Scammed Check Them Out 1st Before It''s Too Late!
If you are planning a special occasion, such as a wedding, party or even a corporate event, it might be a great idea to hire a tribute band. DJs are common and so are cover bands but a great tribute band can really get your party going with a swing and are not as expensive as you might think. Tribute bands have become hugely popular, some of them are so close to the real thing that it is almost impossible to tell them apart. There are also some dreadful ones around, so if you are considering a tribute band, you need to make sure you use a reputable company, preferably one who has been in business for a while, provides you with plenty of choice, is reasonably priced and has testimonials from past happy customers. A bad tribute band can ruin your special day or party, or be embarrassing if it is a corporate function, so it is best to be cautious and do some research before booking the first tribute band you happen to come across. There are many tribute acts in the UK and the choice is immense. Whether you are looking for Abba tribute bands, Beatles tribute bands, Queen tribute bands, cover tribute bands or something quite different, the odds are very good that you will be able to find just what you are looking for. Tribute bands are great fans of the originals themselves and will go to great lengths to look and sound just like them, paying attention to every last detail so their customers get the most authentic experience possible. There have been many TV shows featuring tribute bands and impersonators. Some of the most popular shows today include Pop Idol and Stars in Their Eyes because people love tribute acts and impersonators. The first ever tribute bands were probably The Beatles and Elvis. Today, there are literally hundreds of Elvis tribute acts in the UK alone! Famous tribute bands include Bjorn Again (Abba) and Beatlemania (The Beatles) and tribute band names are often a pun of the original name. Many tribute bands these days are well known and have their own fan bases. Hiring a tribute band is a way of bringing your favourite stars to your own party or event. Rather than go to an impersonal concert, you can share the enjoyment with your friends and family in your own settings. After the show, you can even mingle with the stars! If you are not sure which tribute band would be the best, have a think about the occasion. If it is your daughter, perhaps an Anastacia impersonator would be ideal to get the party started or how about some Kylie? For a slightly older audience, you could consider Bee Gees tribute bands, Rolling Stones tribute bands, Blondie tribute bands or even Beach Boys tribute bands. For something a little different, there are even Jam tribute bands, U2 tribute bands, Blues Bros tribute bands and everything in between. Browsing artistes on the internet lets you see the performers photos too so you can see how much they resemble the original artiste. If you are still not sure what would be the best thing, you can browse performers online or talk to someone in the tribute band hire company and see what they can suggest. Try to book your act as soon a possible to guarantee availability of your favourite band but even if you are booking at the last minute, you might still be able to get a great tribute band if you're lucky. As I have mentioned, you have to be very careful about how you find tribute bands. There are plenty of unscrupulous companies around who wouldn't think twice about taking your money and sending a second rate performer or band. There are probably more scam agencies than good ones so you do need to take care. You can shop around for the best price but remember that if a tribute band is extremely cheap, this could indicate that they are not very good! Hiring a bad band could ruin your party and be humiliating for you since you are the one responsible for booking them in the first place. If you want to hire a tribute band always shop around first before committing yourself to any particular act or company.

Title: The Depression of L.S Lowry
The death of L.S Lowry father in 1932 left him with the responsibility of taking care of his ailing mother who was now bedridden, depressed and suffering with neurosis. His only opportunity to do any painting was after his mother had gone to bed at night. In October 1939 after seven years of ill health, his mother died leaving L.S Lowry feeling depressed. The depression led to him neglecting his own wellbeing and the upkeep of his house. His landlord had no other option but to evict him from the property. During World War II L.S Lowry was requested to become a war artist for Great Britain. As well as being an war artist for the entirety of the war, he also volunteered as a firewatcher in Manchester. Eight years after being a war artist L.S Lowry was given the honour of painting Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation in 1953. In the 1950’s Lowry would often visit the Seaburn Hotel at Seaburn in County Durham and was often seen painting scenes of the beach, nearby ports and coalmines. Some fine examples of Lowry’s work can often be found on pieces of scrap paper, serviettes and envelopes. As he would do sketch for people he met on the beach or elsewhere and give them the picture as a keepsake. Many of these keepsakes have now been sold for thousands of pounds and a fine example of his work on show at Sunderland Mariott Hotel that was formerly known as Seaburn Hotel. Title: Choose the Ideal in Mazda Tribute Parts
However one may wish to entertain the thought of things that endure, one certainly cannot expect the same of a car. A Mazda Tribute is no different. If one expects one’s car to run smoothly for more than a number of years, one must take care to acquire the Mazda Tribute Parts necessary to replace the ones that wear and collapse over time. Replacing damaged and tattered Mazda Tribute Parts is one effective measure to ensure that the car will continue to operate without any particular difficulty. The car and its corresponding parts, after all, are almost always exposed to a great degree of friction whenever the car is used. Though this is the primary reason why a number of car parts are designed with sturdy builds, one simply cannot expect these parts to withstand such encounters in a timeless fashion. For instance, in the case of Mazda Tribute Parts, the filters of the car in question will require replacements sooner than its emissions systems will. The greater the friction, the more threatening the wear—thus, when a part is already performing beyond its intended period of use, one will, most likely, experience a run of snags. Forcing a part to stay on when it is already tattered and ruined beyond repair, serves more to bring harm than good to the car. Why? Simple mechanics will explain it. Having a worn part in a system puts more stress on the other components of the assembly. This undue pressure exists because there is one part in particular that is not performing as it should. The system, then, is forced to take on additional strain and pressure. In situations of this sort, the problem does not only lie on a single component, but on a system already. This is what must be avoided at all costs. By replacing an impaired component, the trouble is kept out of the other parts of the system. Such is the reason why one must keep replacing one’s Mazda Tribute Parts consistently and at regular intervals.

Title: Mazda Tribute, a More Car-Like SUV
Mazda unveiled the evolutionary changes incorporated in the latest version of Tribute. The prototype of said model reflected significant changes in its style, appearance, materials and performance. Said changes are designed to give the vehicle a more car-like appearance and to eventually deviate from the past stigma of SUVs. All-new Tribute will debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February. Striking changes in Mazda Tribute parts include the new body surfaces, front clip and grille opening which is a variation of the 2006 model. The latest addition to Mazda's new lineup was also given fresh fascia, which features rectangular running lights that extends to the front fenders. Headlight frames were made sharper, wheel arches rounder and rear hatch window more rectangular. The sides were also revised with smoother and cleaner lines similar to that of Ford Escape. Moreover, the pool of Mazda engineers and designers have upgraded the material and used better features on its interior. Mazda Tribute debuted in the year 2000. Before, it was packaged as a rugged and athletic vehicle with a 200-horsepower V6 engine. It was an epitome an agile and high-performing sport utility vehicle with functional suspension. Unfortunately, the automaker has decided to put a halt to its production. The bright side of it is that Tribute will be making a much-awaited come back in the year 2008. The latest version is expected to put variation on Mazda architecture which is reflected in Ford Focus, Volvo S40 and V50. The latest architecture of the automaker will also be reflected in the upcoming vehicle lineup which include compact luxury from Volvo – XC50 crossover, Mercury Mariner and Ford Escape. According to Ford, there will be no layoffs at the Claycomo plant in Kansas. This is planned to compensate for the halt of Tribute. There are about 40,677 Tributes produced in said plant for the year 2005. Mercury Mariner’s production was also transferred to Claycomo plant last fall.

Title: Headstone Monuments: Paying Tribute to the Deceased
Headstone Monuments: Paying Tribute to the Deceased Monuments are a way to pay tribute to the life of an individual who has passed on. They are often installed in cemeteries and are similar to traditional headstone markers. Monuments come in many different styles, shapes, and sizes. Headstone monuments are smaller, yet still a memorable way to cherish and pay tribute to the gravesite of a loved one. Monuments can literally be less than one foot tall or as high as desired. In the past, monuments were generally larger than what they seem to be today; however, their purpose still remains the same. Monuments can come in the shape of an object, such as an angel or cross, or they can have a more traditional look. Headstone monuments are found at the head of a gravesite and they offer grave visitors information pertaining to the lady or gentleman buried below. Headstone monuments are likely to list the name of the deceased, their date of birth and death, and an epitaph will likely be engraved. An engraved epitaph is typically a short phrase used to summarize the life or qualities that a deceased individual once had. Headstone monuments can come in many different forms; however, headstone monuments are monuments that are positioned at the front or head of a gravesite. Upright monuments may be about waist high; however, there are no limits on the amount or styles of headstone monuments that can be purchased or custom made. It is possible for a headstone monument to be a bench. These benches are often used for visitors to view important information pertaining to the deceased or sit and reflect on his or her life. As with caskets or other burial accessories, headstone monuments can come customized according to the preference of the family. Headstone monuments are traditionally made out of granite; however, other materials may also be used. Granite is a material that can come in different colors or designs. In addition to an epitaph, it is possible for a picture or drawing of the deceased to be attached to a monument. Although the tradition may not be as popular as it once was before, many family members still choose to be buried next to each other or in a nearby cemetery plot. When a husband or wife passes on, it is not uncommon for their surviving partner to purchase two cemetery plots, side by side. Upright headstone monuments can also be used to mark multiple cemetery plots. Especially in cases concerning husbands or wives, it is possible for one large headstone monument to contain information pertaining to both individuals. If one individual passes on before the other, one side of the headstone monument will remain blank until the surviving partner passes on. Personalized headstone monuments are a popular and special way to pay tribute to a family member who has passed away. Your family and close family friends will be likely to visit the gravesite for many years to come. A personalized or traditional headstone monument is a beautiful way to offer remembrance for your loved one whether it be one year from now or a hundred. Title: Unveiling the Mazda Tribute
The Ford Motor Company is responsible and the culprit behind the success and prestige that the Mazda Tribute has at present. Despite the fact that 2006 would be the last year that this vehicle would be manufactured, sales of this vehicle has not been greatly affected. The life story of the Mazda Tribute had started back in the year 2001. It had taken the spot and niche that the Mazda Navajo left vacant when its production was entirely halted. However, this time around, when the Mazda Tribute is not manufactured anymore, its spot would be taken by the upcoming Mazda CX 7. The Mazda Tribute has been built and mounted on the FF CD2 platform of the Ford Motor Company. This same platform has been used by the previous front wheel drive Mazda 626 vehicle. It has been designed as a compact crossover sport utility vehicle and this vehicle holds four doors. It is related to the Ford Escape and the Mercury Mariner. It has been said that its competition in the automobile market include the Jeep Liberty, the Toyota RAV4, the Hyundai Tucson, and the Honda CR-V. During its introduction, the Mazda Tribute was unveiled to have been equipped with either a 2.0 L Mazda engine with four cylinders or the Ford Duratec 3.0 L V6 engine. However, if you do travel to Europe, you would find out that the Mazda Tribute is currently being sold as the Ford Maverick. And this vehicle was equipped with the 2.0 L Ford Zetec engine and had a manual transmission system as part of it. However, another choice for the engine was a 3.0 L Duratec engine with an automatic transmission system. Mazda claims that the Mazda Tribute is the right vehicle not only for on road driving but also for off road traversing. Whatever the kind of terrain that there could be, the Mazda Tribute could definitely handle them. The engine is guaranteed to be lightweight yet provides enough and good power. Aside from power, the Mazda Tribute actually has been made available with various choices. As per the interior, interested parties could choose between cloth and leather material for the seats and the color choices for these materials are Dark Flint and Medium Pebble. The exterior color choices, on the other hand, comprise of Blazing Copper, Stormfront Gray, Classic White, Dark Titanium, Mystic Black, Pebble Ash, Platinum, Redfire, and Lapis Blue. Interested parties, Mazda aficionados, and Mazda owners can come across super durable replacement parts on Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts. Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts is one of the largest dealers of Mazda parts and accessories including Mazda Tribute parts. These parts have been crafted from quality materials so as to guarantee durability and to assist in maintaining the performance and delivery of Mazda vehicles. These Mazda parts from Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts are also guaranteed to fit. The online collection of Mazda parts and accessories include in its list a/c condensers, alternators, radiator fans, spoilers, starters, trunk lids, and wheels among many others.

Title: Differentiating the Mazda Tribute From the Rest
One of the crossover sport utility vehicles in the market, the Mazda Tribute is considered to be one of the smallest in this segment. This vehicle is actually based on the platform of the Mazda 626 which is a front wheel drive vehicle. The Mazda Tribute is also the basis for the Ford Escape sport utility vehicle. In fact, this vehicle is very similar to the Mazda Tribute. Both the Mazda Tribute and the Ford Escape made its way to public knowledge in the year 2001. Both offered a front wheel drive and an all wheel drive. Also, as per the engine, interested parties were given the choice of either a 2.0 L Mazda engine with four cylinders or a 3.0 L Ford Duratec V6 engine. The Mazda Tribute was actually sold in Europe as the Ford Maverick. This time, it held a Ford 2.0 L Zetec engine. To assist it in its performance and delivery, installed in the vehicle is a manual transmission system. Given as an option is the 3.0 L Duratec engine that was assisted by an automatic transmission system. The Mazda Tribute has a suspension is that is very tuned finely so much so that it gives and provides a firmer ride compared to the Ford Escape. This is because the Mazda Tribute has been specially designed so as to be a sporty vehicle. If you are interested in purchasing a Mazda Tribute, you would be actually given a couple of choices when it comes to its seats and its exterior colors. The seats could be actually covered in either cloth of leather. The color choices are either Dark Flint or Medium Pebble. As per the colors of the exterior, one is given a list of colors that includes Blazing Copper, Stormfront Gray, Classic White, Dark Titanium, Mystic Black, Pebble Ash, Platinum, Red Fire, and Lapis Blue. This gives interested parties the opportunity to customize and choose a vehicle color that would suit their own fashion tastes and sense as well as their preferences. The Mazda Tribute is said to be directly competing with the Jeep Liberty, the Toyota RAV4, the Hyundai Tucson, and the Honda CR-V. To continue Mazda’s tradition of offering outstanding vehicles in class and value, as well as vehicles that hold great amenities, auto parts companies like Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts offers top of the line Mazda Tribute parts and Mazda auto parts. The customer is given a choice from a vast array of Mazda parts and products. It also offers new and used Mazda parts and accessories like Mazda Tribute mechanical engine parts, and fuel injection parts among many others.

Title: Colin Mcrae Tribute at Wembley
Colin McRae was given an overwhelming tribute on Sunday’s Wembley final. Approximately 50,000 individuals paid tribute to the former rally champ who died in a helicopter crash in September. The Scottish rally driver would have competed in the end-of-season spectacular at the new Wembley Stadium.
Colin McRae was the 1992 British Rally Champion and the 1995 World Rally Champion. Rally passion runs in the blood. He was the son of Jimmy McRae, a five-time Rally Champion. Alister, his brother, is also a rally driver and a former champ.
When Race of Champions organizers asked Alister whether he would step into the race-seat vacated by the 1995 World Rally champion, there was no hesitation, reports said.
In between the Nations Cup and Champion of Champions races, his brother's memory was honored. A lone piper played a lament and that was followed by a minute's silence as all 16 drivers lined up on the track specially built inside the stadium. Alister then performed a parade lap in the Subaru 555 that helped Colin win his world title, with the car left in the middle of the circuit for the rest of the event, adorned with a Scottish flag.
"It was always going to be difficult, and so emotional as well as it was only three months since the accident," said Alister. “It is all still a bit raw, but myself and the rest of the family have been coping as best as we can. But we had to give this a go. There were a lot of people here, and it was good to see they thought so much of Colin."
Alister did not have the best of times on track as in the Nations Cup he and teammate David Coulthard were beaten in the first round by Jenson Button and Andy Priaulx for England.
In the Champion of Champions, Alister again went out in the first round, losing to Button. But he was still elated to have taken part, saying: "It's a great event, and to have it at Wembley for the first time was very good. Hopefully it will grow and grow here. It's a good show, and if there were that many people this year, then word will get around and there will be more people next year. I certainly fancy another crack at this next year, and if I am here then it will obviously be under better circumstances."
According to the organizers, there is every likelihood the event will return to Wembley next December. The fans were certainly treated to some awesome racing, with seven-time F1 World Champ Michael Schumacher again a winner.
The 37-year-old teamed up with current Toro Rosso driver Sebastian Vettel to win the Nations Cup for Germany, beating last year's champion Finland in the finals. However, Schumi lost out in the Champion of Champions final to current DTM title-holder Mattias Ekstrom, with the latter retaining the trophy he won at the Stade de France in 2006.
Next season, Ferrari and the Subaru thermostat will again reflect a rising racing temperature.
