Every parents wanted to impart in their child a good nutritional habits. And this could be challenging when kids are becoming more familiar with which fast food place is which at a younger and younger age. It needs to start early and some parents are beginning to help their babies learn to love healthier foods by feeding them organic baby food. Even though, this may seem like a passing rage to some parents, but many believe they are laying the foundation for a lifetime of good eating. Most of us, have discovered the nutritional and health benefits associated with eating foods that are grown organically. The items that are used in the organic baby food are grown in a specific way as to ensure that no chemicals or preservatives of any kind come in contact with the food. This food is said to be healthier and more and more people are trying it each day. Parents who really want to avoid their kids take up chemicals, organic baby food is a essential to them. The great thing about these products is that they are reasonably priced and readily available in your regular everyday supermarket. This is a great convenience for parents who want to feed their babies organic baby food instead of the regular fair. Healthy organic baby food is really a great choice to parents who wants to make certain that they know exactly what is good for their baby. Food that is grown in an organic environment can consist of everything from fruit to meat to nuts. However, it's a bit more costly than the standard food that we’ve all been eating for years. Each parent seems to side with either purchasing pre-packaged foods or they may decide to make their own. For parents who are juggling a new baby as well as a career, the already made organic baby food is usually more appealing. It comes in the same containers as the traditional baby food that we’ve all grown accustomed to seeing on store shelves. With many grocery chains now selling organic items including baby food, a parent can usually find it next to the other baby food items. Before, I was raised on normal, old fashioned, run of the mill Gerber baby food. Back then, organic baby food did not exist. There certainly was not organic baby clothing like there is today. So when my wife decided that we would feed the kid organic baby foods, I was not pleased. Why spend the extra money? Our budget was pretty tight as it was, and getting baby food organic did not seem that important to me. After all, why would it be any different for my baby? I was in great physical health and I had been raised on conventionally grown foods. We argued on this for a while, but eventually I gave in. It seems like my wife might have something to her arguments. You see that, there is a lot of different things than when i was a kid. Back then, although we had pesticides and artificial fertilizers, we certainly did not have genetically modified foods. Research has shown that pollen from genetically modified food is much more likely to cause food sensitivities and food allergies. This could be a big problem, persistent for a child's whole life. Organic baby food is really the only way to protect against these kinds of health problems. Another argument that my wife made I found was pretty convincing. he said that, just because I did not suffer from health problems from eating conventionally grown food, it did not mean that other people didn't. Organic baby food might save my baby from health problems that I was not prone to. Of course, it might all turn out alright as it often does. Nonetheless, we are parents, and it is our responsibility to not take any unnecessary risks with the health of our child. As a reminder to someone who wants to feed their infant homemade food, they need a few supplies such as a well stocked pantry. You need to purchase fresh organic baby food if you want to make organic baby food by yourself. Many parents find it easiest to prepare all the organic baby food they’ll need for the week in one afternoon. Others prefer to cook meals for the entire family and then blend up some of that to make the baby food. It’s really a matter of personal preference. Either way a good quality blender is essential. Whether or not it is because of the organic baby food, our baby boy is quite healthy. Teaching him to eat organic food, avoid sweets and junk food, and exercise daily will make him grow up healthy. Of course, it is still too early for a lot of that. After all, he is only baby! Nonetheless, when a couple years have passed and we have used up the last of the organic baby food, we hope he will still be as strong, happy, and healthy as he is today. As parents, we want the best for our children. Organic baby food is the first step to a lifetime of healthy eating habits free from pesticides and chemicals. Title: Bringing up your baby green
Is your baby a green baby? If the answer is yes, you are a part of a growing segment of the population opting for more environmentally friendly products for your child. The list of eco-friendly baby products grows by the day and includes nappies, organic baby food, organic formula, biodegradable wipes, ethically produced toys; the list goes on and on. Increasing numbers of parents are showing interest in green baby products and manufacturers are listening and responding. The biggest names in the baby industry are rolling out more products designed for the organic baby and ever increasing numbers of parents are also starting up small companies online to sell their specially made products to meet the high demand for environmentally friendly, organic, ethical products. There are many reasons parents choose the green way to go when bringing up their babies. Adults who have adopted greener lifestyles for instance end up not being able to stomach the effect that disposable nappies have on the planet. On average children will use 6,000 nappies which will result in 2 tonnes of non-biodegradable waste. The materials that these nappies consist of will not break down and will remain in the landfill for many generations to come. Parents have also discovered the potential health benefits of these eco-products for their baby. Disposable diapers often contain chemicals that can be harmful to a baby's tender bottom and increase the chances for diaper rash and allergic reactions. Cloth diapers on the other hand are made from natural materials that are hypoallergenic. Many cities also have diaper laundering services which pick up the soiled diapers and deliver clean ones. Parents can also choose to launder their own cloth diapers and save them for their next child. Parents also choose to launder their own child's diapers if they don’t want to share the diapers with other babies. For parents that just can't get their heads around washing nappies or do not have cloth nappy laundering services in their area, there are disposable biodegradable nappies available too. When it comes to what parents feed their babies, there has been a huge upsurge in the desire for organic baby food. Many people believe that babies are much more susceptible to the dangerous effects of chemicals that are in pesticides and prefer to feed their children food that is free from these agents. As a plus, it is also much safer on the environment. Although organic food sales still make up a small percentage of the amount of baby food sold, this is a growing market. The cost for purchasing organic baby food is more than the traditional non-organic jars, but in many cases parents are willing to pay extra for their green baby to eat only organic baby food. Some celebrities have been given credit for kick-starting this trend and brining it into the mainstream. Famous mums such as Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney are all known for their eco-baby ways. Whatever the reasons for "going green", parents are lucky to have a growing number of retailers online that offer a range of eco-friendly baby products. Major players in the baby market have also caught on and are continuing to come out with new lines featuring organic food and ethically produced products for babies. There is still much room for growth in this area, so be on the lookout in your local supermarket baby isle.

Title: Organic Baby Clothes
Babies are often the epitome of pureness and softness. Many parents are now focused on using the most natural products for their children. That has prompt a trend in Organic Baby Clothes. For the past few years, healthy organic diet become a part of our day. More and more people are nowadays aware what food they buy and where does this food come from. It is no surprise that more people rather pay slightly more for the food that comes from organic/free farm source, compare to usual wholesale goods filled in the shelves of big chain supermarkets. I became one of them. But it is not just an organic food that has been in a focus, it is organic clothes too. Especially when we are talking about the clothes for our little precious babies, who depends on us, adults. It is our decision what is the best for our babies. Creating a pure, natural environment is a vital decision for a growing number of parents. With our children exposed to pollutants in many aspects of life, choosing organic fibers is another step towards natural living, both for our sensitive babies, as well as our environment. More toxic insecticides are used on cotton than on any other crop around the world. Majority of the baby clothes we buy today are made of synthetic materials such as polyester and nylon. Both of which are made of petrochemicals. These petrochemicals can be dangerous to our baby as babies has very soft skin far different the skin of an adult. At Organic Baby Clothes http://www.organicbabyclothes.wordpress.com you will find valuable tips and resources about organic clothes for your baby. Whether you are an experience mother or 1st time mother, you should always consider the best for your baby.

Title: Organic Food Bars for Kids
Organic food bars are an easy way for people to take healthy snacks anywhere they go. Not only are organic food bars for adults, but the organic industry has branched out and is offering parents the chance to feed their little ones certified organic food. Food is an essential part of all human existence. If that food is free of pesticides, this world may be a little bit more healthy. If our children can become healthier at a very young age, then perhaps the obesity epidemic can be stopped one day. Organic food bars are made for toddlers by many reputable baby food companies. One such company that makes special organic food bars for toddlers is Earth's Best. According to the companies web site, the company started when two brothers, Ron and Arnie Koss began the organic food company in 1985. The reason that they began the company was because "they wanted babies to begin their lives with wholesome and safe food diets based upon organic farming practices designed to enrich Earth's soil and water supplies for future generations." Included in their product line are special organic food bars that come in various flavors and are sure to tickle the taste buds of little ones. Another type of organic food bar that is available for older kids is a CLIF ZBaR. These are organic energy bars that are baked whole grain bars without any sugar or high fructose corn syrup. They are also made without using any trans fats. These organic food bars are perfect right before the big game or a family outing. They help to keep the energy level of children up, and the company also has a line of food bars for adults. These bars can be found in the company's organic foods online store at CLIFZBaR. Organic food bars for kids are now widely available. If they cannot be found in the local grocery or organic health food store, a person can always find several different brands online. With childhood obesity at an all time high, now more than ever, kids need to eat healthy. Lifestyles are busier today and people are constantly on the move. With the convenience of organic food bars, children can remain healthy and eat healthy as well. This in itself is the best reason to eat organically. Title: The different food groups your baby needs.
The different food groups your baby needs. Your baby needs many different food groups for a balanced, healthy diet. These food groups are: • carbohydrates • proteins • fats • vitamins and minerals. Carbohydrates Carbohydrates are the group that provides essential energy. It gives your baby immediate energy and helps to keep him or her active and healthy. In the first few months of your baby’s life, all your baby’s energy needs will be provided by lactose, a carbohydrate found in breast milk or infant formula. Once your baby moves onto solids and reduces their dependence on breast milk or formula, their source of complex carbohydrates will be derived from starches such as pasta, bread, potatoes, cereals and rice. Fruits such as apples, bananas, and grapes and vegetables such as carrots, peas and sweet potatoes all contain carbohydrates. If your baby enjoys a variety of these foods he or she will get all the carbohydrates they require for rapid growth and an active day. Carbohydrates are also present in sugary foods, such as lollies, biscuits, jams, chocolate, soft drinks and cordials. Beware of these options! They are extremely high in refined sugars, have no nutritional value, cause tooth decay, can lead to a craving for sugar and possibly obesity. Please steer clear of all of the above!! Protein Protein is the main material that the body needs for growth development and also keeps the body in a good state of repair. Babies need more protein than adults due to the fast growth of the basic body tissues such as the brain, muscles, blood and skin, particularly in their first few years. Animal protein is obtained from meat, fish, eggs and dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt. Vegetable protein is obtained from cereals, nuts, lentils, pasta rice and root vegetables. Fibre Fibre is another food group your baby needs, as it encourages good digestion and keeps us regular! Fibre or roughage is found in fruits and vegetables, wholemeal and wholegrain breads and cereals and nuts. Yummy Beginnings PO Box 245 St Ives NSW 2075 Em: yb@yummybeginnings.com www.yummybeginnings.com Fats Fats are another important group to include in your baby's diet. Smaller amounts of fat is needed compared to the other food groups, however, they are an important part of your baby’s diet as they are a source of essential fatty acids and vitamins. The fat stored by the body will protect your baby from heat loss. There are many different kinds of fats, such as saturated fats, polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats. Saturated fats come from animals, while polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are found in avocados, which is one of the first solid foods your baby will probably eat. Vitamins and minerals Your baby requires many vitamins and minerals for healthy development. In summary, a varied, healthy diet will provide your baby with all the vitamins and minerals they need. Minerals such as calcium, essential for healthy bones and teeth, is found in dairy products and leafy green vegetables. Iron is found in commercially prepared rice cereal, red meat and some green vegetables. Salt or sodium is found in vegetables, fluoride is provided by our water supply and magnesium is found in cabbage and potatoes. Phosphorous is found in breast milk and formula, whilst potassium, essential for maintaining water balance and muscle and nerve activity, is found in bananas, a great favourite of many babies (and their mums). Your baby requires many vitamins, especially vitamins C and A. Vitamin C is found particularly in citrus fruits, whilst vitamin A is found in yellow, green and orange fruits and vegetables. For more information about food groups, refer to the information pages found at www.yummybeginnings.com

Title: Make yours an Organic and Eco Baby
When babies are born they are unable to make decisions for themselves and the young lives in our care deserve the best that we can provide and it is our responsibility to ensure that we give them a natural and healthy environment to grow in. The author looks at things that can make all the difference to an eco baby and eco family. Organic and Fairtrade Baby Food Organic baby food has been around for decades and fairtrade baby food has only recently been launched. Why feed your baby with chemicals, additives and possibly genetically modified ingredients when you can feed them fresh, organic and healthier food? By buying fairtrade it also enables you to put something back into local communities where the ingredients originated from, so that they can look after their families better due to being paid a fair price for their food and hence they are able to reinvest the funds into their community and families. Organic and Eco Friendly Baby Care Babies have extremely sensitive skin that requires a mild and gentle touch - which is why it makes sense to treat them with products made from the purest ingredients. The skin is the largest part of the babies body and is often prone to sores and nappy rash in the early days. Minimise the amount of chemicals coming into contact with the babies skin by buying organic or natural baby care products. Organic and Fairtrade Baby Clothing A babys skin is thinner than that of an adult, so make sure the clothes against their bodies are free from harmful pesticides and chemicals by buying clothing which are made from organic or hemp fibres which are made with the minimum or no chemicals in the production and processing. By buying Fairtrade or ethical baby clothes from companies such as HUG ensures that other babies in developing countries may benefit as well from the clothes that you buy. Cheap, brand new clothes from supermarkets etc. are often made in China in low cost production facilities where workers are paid the minimum wage and where the term sweatshops originated from. Buying second hand or using donated clothes is the ultimate form of recycling and is cheaper too at this expensive time of life. Environmentally Friendly Cloth Nappies Cloth nappies can be washed and reused hundreds of times. Millions of disposable nappies are used throughout your country and you can imagine what size of landfill is needed to bury them all! Cloth nappies can reduce nappy rash and have no suspect chemicals. By washing them with your normal clothes, you again minimise your babies impact on the environment. Breast feeding Breast milk is very economical, constantly available at the right temperature and if your diet is organic then so is your milk which is therefore better for your baby. If you have to buy formula we wary of buying Nestle as an International Nestle Boycott is in effect in 20 countries. The boycott will continue until Nestle ends its irresponsible marketing of breast milk substitutes world-wide and abides by the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes and subsequent Resolutions in policy and practice. Looking for more information on baby milk action or organic things for babies then see GuideMeGreen.com.

Title: Organic and Fairtrade Baby Food
Organic baby food has been around for a number of years but the first Fairtrade baby food was launched in the UK in early 2006 and reflects the demand for Britons growing appetite for ethically-traded products. The new Plum Baby product is made from organic mango, banana and quinoa grain from South America. Many mums want to feed their babies organic and healthier food as a pure organic diet can be more beneficial during the first few months of life than at any other time. Babies have immature systems and need the very purest and safest foods. Organic produce is one of the fastest growing food retail sectors in the country. Health scares such as BSE and foot-and-mouth, plus fears of GM crops/food and synthetic dyes and ingredients such as Sudan1 have led to considerable growth in the organic and the healthy food market as worried consumers seek out more healthy and natural products for both adults and children. This has lead to Organic baby foods becoming increasingly popular. Once only available in health shops or via online, organic baby foods are becoming much more widely available and you can now find them in local conveneice shops. Sales of organic food now account for half of the entire baby food market. Organic baby foods are not necessarily an improvement on organic home cooking, but are more convenient. It is worth noting that descriptions on products -- such as natural, traditional, or environmentally friendly -- do not mean they are organic. How do I know its Organic or Fairtrade? The term organic is defined by law - all organic food production and processing is governed by a strict set of rules. Look for symbols such as the http://www.guidemegreen.com/article_organic.php "> Soil Association symbol /a> for your guarantee of the highest organic standards. The Soil Association organic symbol is the UK's largest and most recognizable trademark for organic produce. Wherever you see it you can be sure that the food you have purchased has been produced and processed to strict and rigorous animal welfare and environmental standards. Other symbols to look out for include the Organic Food Federation and Certified Organic Ingredients. The Fairtrade Foundation exists to ensure that producers are guaranteed a minimum price for their goods irrespective of world prices. This means that Fairtrade goods are often more expensive in the UK than those without the Fairtrade logo. Although people are now arguing that supermarkets are fuelling their excessive profits by adding large mark-ups to these products This premium that the producer charges covers the basic food, housing, health and education needs of the local communities in countries such as India and Brazil. The Foundation awards a consumer label, the Fairtrade Mark, to products which meet internationally recognized standards of Fairtrade. It is the only such certification in the UK. The fairtrade label is often a black box with a half yellow, half blue circle with the text Guarantees a Better Deal for Third World Producers. Look at the Fairtrade Mark Most people dont have enough time to read the labels of all the different food products that they buy to check for organic or fairtrade ingredients. So look for the various symbols. The use of such symbols is entirely optional and a product can still be organic or fairly traded even though it doesnt carry the symbol of a certifying body. That means if you want to be 100% satisfied that what you are eating or using is organic or fairtrade, always read the label or speak to the vendor. Davinos Greeno works for the organic directory . Title: Baby Food is Homemade Best?
This debate has gone on for some time. There are some mothers who swear by homemade baby food and won’t give their babies anything else. While other mothers rely on the convenience of baby food jars, cereals and snacks. So which is best homemade or jars? Like everything else it depends on your family’s needs and what works for you. However, there are a few things to keep in mind when contemplating what to feed your baby. Although baby food has come a long way and you can buy many organic brands which reduce the amount of pesticides your baby eats, there are still many baby foods which contain added salt, sugar and sometimes other preservatives. Logically, anything that’s fresh and homemade will be healthier than anything that is pre-packaged and has been sitting on store shelves. It doesn’t mean that it will necessarily do your baby harm but your baby may get more nutrients from a fresh, homemade baby puree. Another factor is cost. Although convenient, baby food jars can be expensive. Making food for your baby at home really couldn’t be easier and it is definitely much cheaper. There is no need to prepare huge batches of baby food either. A simple mashed banana or sweet potato can make a healthy nutritious baby food in a flash. Ultimately the choice is up to you. If you’re schedule is really packed and you want to spend those few precious spare hours a day bonding with your little one then perhaps baby food jars would work best for you. If you already cook a fresh meal for your family daily, then making a few adjustments for your baby’s meal should be a breeze. Or you may choose the route many mothers take, fresh baby food for days at home and a few jars for outings or days where you really just don’t have time. Title: Making organic baby food
Making Organic Baby Food The benefits of organic food have been debated for several years but, until just recently no one was really 100% sure that organic foods really were healthier than commercial, non-organic foods. Research and studies comparing organic and non-organic foods have been more controlled, as well as more accurate, in the past few years and have proven that organic foods really are more nutritious. Organic farming practices ensure natural soil that is free of harmful chemicals and full of rich nutrients. This is in sharp contrast to intensively cultivated soil used by mass producers.. Current research has proven a number of health benefits of organic food, including - Increased levels of essential minerals, like iron, calcium, and magnesium. - More vitamin C for stronger immune systems. - Higher amounts of antioxidants that prevent several types of cancer. Organic tomatoes were found to have twice as many natural flavonoids than non-organic tomatoes, significantly lowering the chances of heart disease. According to these new observations, just 2 to 3 servings of organic fruit can give you all the nutrients you would receive from the recommended 5 servings of non-organic fruit. For more on the benefits of organic food please visit www.organic-food-for-everyone.co.uk/benefits-of-organic-food.html What About Baby? With all the benefits of organic food, you can see why it is the best choice for you, as well as your family. Organic foods are especially good for your baby. Not only is organic baby food more nutritious, you can feel good about giving your little one all natural ingredients that are free of the chemical residues from pesticides and fertilizers found in processed baby foods. Making organic baby food is the best way to give your baby a healthy, nutritious diet and it is actually quite simple to do. Homemade baby food is also a less expensive and much fresher alternative to processed foods. Before you get started preparing your little one's first organic meal there are a few things to keep in mind: - Most infants prefer yellow or orange fruits and vegetables, like bananas and sweet potatoes. Green vegetables, like peas or green beans, are usually less appealing but may be blended with other favourites for a better reaction. - Certain ingredients, including eggs, honey, and peanuts, should not be included in your child's diet until he is at least one year old. - A few seasonings can add flavour to your baby's diet, but avoid making organic baby food with spices that may be harsh on her mouth or stomach. Making Organic Baby Food At Home Baby food is simply ingredients that are mashed into a smooth consistency to be eaten by an infant. Homemade baby food can be made from the same organic ingredients you feed the rest of your family and it gives you the ability to introduce your little one to many more types of food. Before you get started making your own organic baby food at home, there are a few basic tools you will need to have on hand. - A steamer and roasting pan will come in handy for softening fruits and vegetables. - A hand grinder, food processor, blender, or even a potato masher can be used to make the baby food. - A cookie sheet and wax paper will come in handy if you plan to make your own infant cereal. - A cutting board, paring knife, and grater will also be useful in the preparation process. - An ice cube tray is ideal for freezing small portions of homemade organic baby food. Freezer bags, small freezer containers, or clean baby food jars can also be used for storing. - You will need freezer tape and a fine tip pen to label and date the baby food in the freezer. Once you have all your supplies, you can plan your baby's meals and go shopping. Begin with simple cereals made of toasted grains and then start introducing fruits and vegetables to your baby. Select fresh, organic ingredients, but beware of possible nitrates in organic root vegetables like carrots. Too many Nitrates can be harmful to infants under 6 months old so keep the carrot content low. Peaches, apples, and more exotic fruits like mangoes are excellent first fruits for your homemade organic baby food, while vegetables like squash, potatoes, and asparagus tips are possible choices as well. Once your baby has tried a variety of single fruits and vegetables, you can start making organic baby food with a combination of ingredients to expand her/his sense of taste. How to Make Homemade Baby Food Making organic baby food at home is not really a complicated procedure. Start with quality fresh ingredients. Scrub the fruits and vegetables before peeling, cutting, and preparing them. Boil the food with a small amount of water, steam the ingredients, or bake them to preserve nutrients. Once the ingredients are softened, mash, puree, or grind the food into a smooth, almost soupy consistency, adding water, formula, or breast milk as needed. Remember to strain mashed fruits to avoid seeds. As your baby gets older, making organic baby food can be as simple as mashing a small amount of the family dinner with a hand grinder. The texture of the baby food can be less smooth as your baby grows as well. Salt, pepper, and other seasonings are not necessary, but herbs and spices can add variety to your homemade baby food as your little one's taste develops. As a parent, I'm sure you want only the best for your little bundle of joy. Making organic baby food can give your baby the healthy start in life that you hope for, with plenty of essential vitamins and nutrients that promise a strong immune system and proper growth. Homemade organic baby food is inexpensive, easy to make, and the healthiest, as well as safest, choice for your baby's mealtimes.

Title: Organic Baby Food – A Healthy Choice
As parents, there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for our children. And when it comes to our newborn baby we are constantly seeking those things that will give our child the greatest health advantage possible. It is not surprising, however, that there is a growing trend towards organic baby food and the myriad of benefits it can offer to its smallest consumers. Organic food continues to grow in popularity as more and more people understand the benefits of eating food that is free of pesticides and chemicals. Organic farmers – within strictly enforced government guidelines – grow produce without the use of chemicals often used in traditional farming. They are committed to producing fruits and vegetables that are not in any way chemically altered. Organic agricultural farmers – that produce meat and dairy products – feed their animals only organic products; no supplements or chemicals of any kind are given to livestock or dairy cows. If adults are receiving such tremendous benefits from organic food then it stands to reason that organic baby food could be just as healthy for infants. When babies reach the point that they can be introduced to solid foods, pediatricians advise that each food should be introduced one at a time to keep a careful eye for any food allergies. Organic baby food, because of its natural state - free of all harmful chemicals – provides another level of protection against allergies. Further, because organic baby food is chemical free it is the safest thing for our environment. Subsequently, giving our children organic baby food ensures their health and the health of the planet on which they live. Finding organic baby food can be as simple as visiting the nearest grocery store or health food store, depending on where you live. For those who have limited access to organic food, there are home delivery services that will bring the requested organic baby food straight to your door; a comprehensive list of such services can be found online. Organic baby food shows your commitment to your children and the environment. Making small changes can go a long way to ensuring a lifetime of good health.
