Deciding that you want to start a work at home typing job is one thing. Actually starting it and finding people to work for is another. It can become quite costly promoting your services with little or no results. The following information offers tips on how to promote your work at home typing business without breaking the bank.

Define your target

Wasted expenditure begins with advertising to the wrong group of people. Before you begin your promotional efforts, identify your potential customers. For a work at home typing business success can come from thinking small. Offer your services to small businesses such as trades men. Do not ask big companies; you will be competing with existing staff and employment agencies. Also, avoid IT businesses. They are IT literate and mostly likely will not need your services.

Mailing List

Begin and continue to build a database of contact information of local businesses.

Business cards

Get business cards printed. This can be done for free if you already have an existing program on your computer; if not you can download templates that you can change and print off. Your business card should include your full name, contact details and the service you offer. Make a lot so you can hand them out to everyone and include them when you do mail shots.

Add unique branding

Create a professional looking template to use as a letter head. This can easily be done on your word processor. If you chose to use a logo on your business cards repeat the logo on your business stationary. Keep the color scheme the same as well. Your advertising creatives should have a uniform flow.

Mail shots

Mail shots and email shots are forms of direct marketing. Set up a standard letter to send to each person in your database. Your letter should make known the service you are offering. Try not to sound like a cheesy commercial. Keep it simple by stating what you do and tell recipients to save your business card for future reference.

Flyers

Create flyers and post them in locations where your targeted business will see them. As well include them in mail shots. Some parks have widescreens to advertise on. These can be very effective just be sure to ask the land owner for permission before posting your flyer.

Free ads

There are numerous places such as shops, churches, libraries and wholesalers that offer a notice board where you can advertise your services free of charge. Be sure to return regularly to make sure your ad hasn't been removed or covered.

Classified ad

Place ads in local papers that offer ad space within your budget. Do not be discouraged if your first mail shot does not yield results; repeat the process in another month. Another great tip is to look for desperate clients. Tradesmen with little or no IT literacy are great or small business owners who have their plate full and need an extra hand keeping their documents up to date. Do not look for people who could easily manage the work themselves.

With a little perseverance you'll soon find that you can start a successful work at home typing business on next to nothing.

How to find jobs typing for companies from home

Chewy Ine 2007-12-09
Title: How to find jobs typing for companies from home
If you think you got what it takes in typing, then try “work at home typing” online for companies. But don’t quit your day job just yet. There is a lot of information to consider and gather before making a big decision.

If you are self-motivated and have exceptional speed and accuracy then a home typing online career may be for you Work at home typing jobs include data entry, providing clerical services and customer service. Work at home typing jobs also include information processing and ad typing. If you have some skills in spreadsheets and word processing then you can really benefit from this. Medical billing is an extremely lucrative market. You have to get some experience before you can tackle this job. However there are other types of transcription type jobs out there besides Medical. If you have the equipment and great listening skills, then perhaps you can give it shot. As a test project, I applied to a lot of companies that were looking for transcriptionists. With not much experience I got a reply back from an agency that was willing to hire me just because of the writing sample I had submitted. So if I can do it so can anyone else.

You can search the classified ads such as Craigslist and UsfreeAds (which in this case would be the best form of search) to look for work at home jobs in those areas I mentioned above. Some are actual positions that do not require any fees. If you are doing freelance work, then you could advertise your services (don’t forget to sell yourself and be fair about it) for FREE. Or you can find other “Free Lance” sites and check out how they are selling their services in order to get projects and assignments.

However sometimes (or shall I say most of the time) you might come across a lot of ads stating you can work from home by typing ads. Please avoid the paid surveys online unless you are really planning to do some legwork and soul searching. You really have to find a great sponsor in order to get paid somewhat of what your worth. On a more creative angle, some companies require work at home typists to type out Ads, sometimes just a paragraph or title in length or small classified ads to place all over the internet. Companies will usually offer training and information on where to post the ads and how to answer queries. However I never recommend Ad typing… For most companies you get paid a commission when someone buys the products being advertised from your posted ad. The more you sell the more money you make. But you really have to have a lot of discipline to do this. This is a beast to conquer. But if you are up for the challenge by all means go for it.

All in all, you have to know that there are always risks when it comes to being self-employed. But if you find the right opportunities for you, it could be a gold mine. You have to know what is comfortable for YOU!

If you would like more information on other online opportunities, please feel free to visit my blog. Or I would love to just hear some input from you.

Home typing jobs and how they can work for you

Karen Anderson 2007-06-15
Title: Home typing jobs and how they can work for you
Affiliate marketing/home typing jobs has become a top online resource for making a second income from home.

For anyone who is not familiar with affiliate marketing and promotion, I will break it down

for you.

An affiliate is a person who signs up with a company to promote their business by placing ads on the internet and in return will receive up to 50-75% commission on any sale that their ad has generated for them.

You can promote a business in several differen't ways.

#1. You can place free classified ads (this is totally free).

#2. you can place ads in newspapers(very cheap).

#3. you can use an opt in email service or ptr(paid to read) program that will distribute your ad to hundreds of thousands of people for a very low fee.

#4. you can use google adwords for ppc (pay per click ads(this one costs but you would be suprised on the investment you get back!).

To become an affiliate for a company is absolutely free. All you have to do is signup and they will issue you your own affiliate url to place in your ads. This is how your sales will be tracked.

The wonderful thing about this type of work is that

#1. you DO NOT have to have a website.

#2. you DO NOT have to speak to anyone by phone or email.

#3. you DO NOT have to sell anything.

#4. you DO NOT have to do any customer support.

These businesses will handle everything.

The only thing you need to do is place your ads

and basically collect your checks.

This is the beauty of affiliate marketing.

The downside of this is that the company you sign up with will not help you to market them.

You have to figure this one out on your own.

Now anyone can become an affiliate for pretty much any company but the thing is, if you are not an experienced marketer then you might as well

save cans for extra money.

I'm sure you've seen these companies out there that say "earn $1000 a day as a home typist" right?

Well these are actually the companies that are going to provide you with a list of the top affiliate programs to promote and teach you how to market them properly. These companies actually provide lists of free and paid places to place your ads including step by step directions on how to do so.They even write the ad out for you.

Now of course they will not do this for free,

you must pay an initial registration fee to access

their database and receive tech support but well worth it.

The fact of the matter is, if you want to be successful in any online business you must receive some type of training.

It's like if you wanted to be a chef but didn't know how to cook.Obviously you would need to take classes right?

Well this is the same concept.

Imagine making $200,$300,$600 in just one day

literally sitting at home!

Even most people with college degrees don't even make that kind of money.

This is what affiliate marketing can do for you

if done right.

Starting A Work At Home Typing Business On A Shoestring Budget

Elaine Currie 2008-05-05
Title: Starting A Work At Home Typing Business On A Shoestring Budget
You have decided to start your own work at home typing business. Money is in short supply, so where do you start?

Identify Your Target

The first thing to do is to identify your potential customers. Don't bother asking big companies for work at home typing, you will be in competition with existing staff and employment agencies. Look around for small businesses, the smaller the better because they won't have support staff. Pick them out from classified ads in local newspapers, flyers and phone directories. Start with tradesmen such as auto mechanics, carpenters, washing machine repairers, plumbers, electricians, general builders, painters and decorators etc. Avoid any business connected with IT, they are almost certain to be keyboard literate.

Business Cards

Get business cards printed. You can get this done free of charge. Make sure that, in addition to your name and contact details, your card states that you offer a typing service. Get as many free business cards as you can, you will need them to hand out to everyone you meet as well as sending them out with mail shots.

Flyers

Have flyers printed. Flyers are very useful: they can be posted in locations where local traders will see them, delivered to targeted businesses and used in mail shots. If you want to hand out flyers or put them on windscreens in a car park, make sure you get whatever permission is needed from the land owner before you start.

Classified Ads

Place ads in any local newspapers, trade journals etc. which offer ad spots within your budget.

Free Ads

Many places such as shops, wholesalers, supermarkets and church halls have notice boards where you can place an ad free of charge. Take advantage of this and remember to return regularly to make sure your ad hasn't been removed or covered over.

Mailing List

Build a database containing the names and addresses of local companies and sole traders.

Brand Yourself

Make yourself a professional looking template with your word processor to use as a letterhead. If you opted for a logo on your business cards, repeat the logo on your business stationery.

Mail Shot

Set up a standard letter to be sent to all the people in your database. The letter should announce the service you are offering and ask the recipient to save your card for future reference. When you get your free business cards, you can do your first mailing shot.

Delivery

If you are able to target groups of companies in small areas, hand delivery of your letters is feasible but don't make the mistake of wasting gallons of fuel for the sake of saving a few pennies on postage.

The small traders will mainly fall into one of two categories: either they will have a computer and do their own typing of invoices, estimates etc or their typing work will be done by their wife, girlfriend or mother. Your want to find traders who don't like doing their own typing work and will be glad of help or whose wife/girlfriend is too busy and wants to get rid of the typing work.

If you get nothing from your first mail shot, don't despair, repeat it after a couple of weeks or a month. You can alternate between sending a flyer or a letter enclosing a business card. In the meantime, continue to add likely candidates to your mailing list. You need your offer of home typing work to be in the right places at the right times. When the plumber splits up from his girlfriend or the electrician's wife has a new baby to cope with, make sure they think of your home typing service. One of the best home typing jobs I had was for a local Private Detective. I just happened to be seeking typing at home work when his wife who had done his typing for years decided she'd had enough ot typing reports about adulterous husbands!

If you are lucky, you might hit a candidate for your services with your first shot and be in business practically overnight. It won't be big business but it will be a start. Give your clients an excellent typing service and chances are they will recommend you to other small traders. Personal recommendation is the most powerful form of advertising anyone could hope for. If you don't score a hit at the first try, keep repeating the mail shots. Make patience and persistence your watch words and you will succeed.

Typing Jobs At Home

Brian Pratt 2006-10-11
Title: Typing Jobs At Home
Working from home can be a great thing. But in order to take advantage of this lifestyle you will need to have a certain set of skills and knowledge. Luckily, you do not need to be able to do anything special to enjoy a work at home job. One of the easiest ways to work from home is to offer typing services to clients. Does this sound too easy? The fact of the matter is that people from all over the world hire work at home contractors to complete typing tasks from them. So in turn, finding typing jobs at home is not quite as difficult as you would think.

When searching for typing jobs at home you will want to keep an open mind; especially when you are first starting out. The most important thing to remember when you first start looking for work at home typing jobs is to take what you can get. Even though you may not get paid a lot at first, your main goal should be to build up a client base that you can use as references for larger jobs. Sure, this can be a bit difficult to do at first. But you will be glad that you laid the proper groundwork when you start to secure big contracts.

Even though completing typing jobs at home can be a great career, do not get caught thinking that it is going to be easy. If you do this you may end up running into more problems than you ever imagined. The fact of the matter is that typing jobs at home can be fun, but at the same time it is a lot of work. Not only will you be responsible for completing the work that is assigned to you, but there are also several administrative tasks to handle as well. For instance, you will need to deliver your work to your clients how they specify. This means that you will need to be proficient on the internet, and also be able to get to the post office if you need to send a hard copy. This may seem like an easy task, but it takes time out of your day.

There are many typing jobs at home that you can get your hands on. Like mentioned above, the biggest mistake that people make is that they pass by easy jobs because they do not pay enough. You can afford to do this after you are established, but early on you will want to take what you can get.

If you want to work from home, consider working as a typist. There is a lot of money and flexibility that can be had by taking typing jobs at home.

How to Get Paid to Work at Home Typing Online?

Jeff Casmer 2008-01-20
Title: How to Get Paid to Work at Home Typing Online?

If you have good typing skills and are interested in working at home, then you might want to look into a work at home typing online job. There are a range of companies on the internet which will employ you to do various typing duties for them. However, before you drop everything and dive straight in, there are a few things you need to consider:

What does a home typing job involve?

There are many different types of work at home typing online jobs available. From data entry, advertisement typing and information processing, to clerical and customer service positions, there's something to fit anybody.

Clerical/customer service roles involve setting up and preparing letters, reports and other text material. They may also include preparing neat and error free copies of previously written material, as well as answering incoming mail and processing orders.

If that does not sound like it's for you, then data entry may. This involves typing small articles (usually only a paragraph in length) and small classified ads to distribute all over the internet. Most companies will show you how to do this and where to post the ads.

The key is in knowing what you want to do. If you have skills and experience working with spreadsheets and word processors, then you would be more comfortable with clerical duties such as medical billing. Similarly, if you prefer to simply type data into forms, then data entry or advertisement typing might be best for you. Regardless, previous experience is always a bonus (but not necessary).

How do I avoid scams?

The best way to avoid scams is to ignore the big promises a company makes on their website, and investigate them carefully. Most ads in online classifieds are scams, so avoid looking there for any jobs. These companies usually ask for a starter fee before they start training you. If a company asks for anything like this, be very cautious. Contact them by phone and find out exactly what you are paying for. If you can't find their phone number, move on.

Legitimate work at home typing online companies always give you full contact information, and provide a real support person whom you can ask questions to over the phone. Always, always, always do your research on a company before signing up. Be sure to only sign up with respected companies that have a good track record, and always make a phone call to them beforehand.

There are hundreds of work at home typing online jobs to be found. They can be a great way to make money while allowing you to work your own hours and spend more time at home with your family. Just make sure that you know what type of job you want and you have done the research to determine that the company you work with is legitimate.

8 Inexpensive Ways to Promote Your Work at Home Typing Business

Jeff Casmer 2008-01-18
Title: 8 Inexpensive Ways to Promote Your Work at Home Typing Business

Making the decision to start a work at home typing business is one thing. Going out and finding people to work for is another. As a start-up home based business, it can be very difficult to promote your services and without blowing your budget. So here are some highly effective ways to build and promote your work at home typing business without breaking the bank.

Define Your Target

Don't waste your time and money promoting your services to the wrong people. Before you begin any type of promotion, identify exactly who your potential customers are. For a work at home typing business, start with small local businesses. Don't focus on the big companies, as most of the time they have their own employment agencies.

Build a Mailing List

Start building a database of contact information for local businesses. Then mail them information about your service. Continue to build the database, and mail them promotional information whenever you are looking for more work.

Create Business Cards

Getting business cards printed are a simple way to distribute information about your services. They can be printed for a relatively low cost, and can even be done free if you have certain software on your computer. Be sure to always include your full name, contact details and the specific service you offer on your business card. Create them in bulk and hand them out at any chance you get.

Mail shots

Mail shots are a form of direct marketing which simply involve you sending a promotional letter to a list of businesses to let them know of the service you are offering. This can be done via email also, but is not nearly as effective. Try not to sound too much like a cheesy commercial. Keep it simple. Inform the businesses of what you offer, and tell them to save your business card for future reference. Don't be discouraged if your first mail shot does not produce results; simply write another piece and send it out in another month.

Add Unique Branding

You want to make sure you come across as a reputable and recognisable business (even if you are just working from home). Create a professional letter head template to use on all your mailings so that other business can recognise you. You might also want to create a logo for your services, and include it on all your business cards, letters and stationary. Be sure to keep the same colour scheme. The key here is to make sure your advertising is uniform and that people recognise who you are and what you do.

Post Flyers

Have flyers created and post them in locations where your targeted business will see them. Simple as that. (You can even include them as mail shots if you want).

Free Ads

There are a number of places which offer notice boards where you can post ads about your service for free. Check out shop fronts, churches, libraries and wholesalers. Also, make sure you return regularly and check that your ad hasn't been replaced or covered.

Place Classified Ads

Most local newspapers have classified sections where you can place your ad for an affordable price. Place some ads in different local papers when you need some more business.

When you are just starting out, it doesn't take much to blow your budget. But with a little bit of time and effort using the above promotion strategies, it won't be long before you have plenty of paying jobs for your work at home typing business.

Title: Work At Home Typing Jobs - How To Snag One

Home typing is a great way to work from home, and earn decent money. Many home typists consider it to be one of the most straightforward and actually enjoyable home based careers.

As a home typist, you should have basic computer and typing skills. There are opportunities available for those who are looking to work both part time and full time, although it's often easier to find jobs that start you out part time.

The hardest part of being a home typist is finding the home typing jobs in the first place. This article will start you off with some tips to aid you in your search for the perfect home typing job.

Home Typing Job Tip #1
Browse the top classifieds sites daily for new home typing job opportunities. Craigslist.com often has listings for those hard to find work at home jobs. Another little known resource is Backpage.com which is very similar to Craigslist. If your search turns up nothing, don't be discouraged – search again tomorrow, you never know when the perfect job offer will turn up.

Home Typing Job Tip #2
Have your resume ready. A resume won't always be necessary but it is good to have for the times that you do need it. Also, make sure that you have it digitally as this is most likely how you will be sending it to prospective employers.

Home Typing Job Tip #3
Test and know your typing speed. There are many self tests online that you can take to determine your typing speed. Remember, efficiency is only part of it – you must be accurate as well.

Home Typing Job Tip #4
Webmasters are frequently in need of home typists to assist in content publishing. Try looking for home typing jobs at webmaster job boards such as scriptlance.com, and rentacoder.com. Additionally, webmaster forums may seem like an unlikely place to find home typing jobs, but they are great resources too.

Home Typing Job Tip #5
Never give up. This may sound funny, but it can take quite awhile to find the perfect home typing job. Stay diligent and research frequently. Soon enough, you will find the perfect match.

As you can tell, with patience and diligence, you can find that perfect job and work from home as a home typist.
