Recently I searched for grants and loans and this are my tips for you.

• Do research and locate government office that you can match their program requirements.

You may consider using a professional to assist you because the truth is that there are limited grants available. The professional will also recognize the right grant opportunities for your business. He will also save you expensive time and with is help you will have more probability getting the grant.

• Do sure your application has complete and correct information.

If you using a professional he will submit your proposals to obtain grant financing and with is knowledge and contacts it will requireonly little time and investment from you.

• Be prepared - well-prepared business plan, can give you advantage on others.

If you do not have the knowledge how to write a business plan, it is critical that you will hire professional to do it. This is very important and extremely time consuming.

The professional will develop and also submit your proposal.

• Show to the government office how the grant will bring value.

Your business plan should show that you have a good probability to succeed, and that you will be employer.

• Bring with you an accountant or other experts that can add reliability to your application process.

If you hire company to do it they will help you and will provide all that needed for you to get your grant, they will do all the work and it will require from you only a little time.

Before you go to get through all that I have pointed, you should try first to find an alternative sources such as friends and family, an investor that is interested in your business.

You can also do it yourself - It take a lot of time and effort, you need to search for grant plans that you can match their specific eligibility criteria.

Grant plans such as this are available via state programs, most of government departments do not have grants for small businesses but still you can find via state programs the grant that will fit to your small business.

A lot of small businesses do not even try to apply for grants, because they think they would not get them, this is unfortunate because most of them need the grant to start end to have sufficient air to go through the early steps and make the business grow and succeed.

Eligibility to get your small business grant depends on specific criteria, it dependson the group your business is in and the plan you apply for, it can be based on years you are in business, sex, race, location, sales, income and for what purpose your business need the financing.

If all that I have written here is not intimidating you, I am happy and now the best way to begin your search for business grants and plans that are suitable to you, you can start with Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA), there you can find small business grants from all government agencies for free.

How To Win Small Business Grants

Irish Taylor 2008-02-10
Title: How To Win Small Business Grants
A government grant is an option to obtain start up financing for a business. However, not everyone is qualified to get a business grant. Usually, grants are given only for specific groups or specific industries of business. In addition, government grants make use of specific guidelines before providing business funds.

If you are in need of financial help for your business, then perhaps you can consider a government grant as one of your options. However, keep in mind that there are some conditions you have to meet in order to qualify for a grant. Also, applying for a government grant can be a lengthy process so if you need the money immediately, perhaps it would be better to try other business financing resources. Nevertheless, if you can afford to wait, you have to be willing to go through the whole process of applying for a grant..

Where can you find small business grants? One place to start your search is through the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). Here you can find a list of grants from different government agencies at no charge. Remember that grants may come in different packages such as for business development, for rural businesses, equipment lease financing and others. Find a business grant program that is best suited for your type of business.

Once you’ve found the right grant program for your business, be prepared to go through the procedures that required for you to get an approval. Let’s talk about some points you must remember to help you win that small business grant you’re aiming for.

Prepare a good business plan. To convince the grant officer that you deserve to be granted funding assistance, you have to be able to present a good business plan. What makes a good business plan? It needs to show the history of the business, the nature of the business, the efforts that has already been done to establish the business, the goals of the business and other important details that are relevant to the business. Don’t forget to show how the business can benefit from additional funding and how it can support that specific government agency providing the grant program.

Pay careful attention to the information you provide. When filling up your grant application, see to it that you’ll be providing correct and accurate answers. Take the time to review the application several times before submitting it to ensure that you’re not missing anything or provided any wrong detail.

Seek professional assistance. It is recommended to ask assistance from a financial consultant or a certified accountant with regards to the processes involved in obtaining a grant program. Submitting documents that have been certified by a professional will certainly add credibility to your application.

Be visible. As we’ve said, getting a grant approval can take some time. While waiting for an approval, let your grant officer know that you are deeply interested in winning his approval by keeping in touch in a professional way.

Business Plans for Grant Funding

Kevin Riley 2007-07-28
Title: Business Plans for Grant Funding
Business Plans for Grant Funding

Any successful business plan for grant funding needs to highlight the barriers and risks involved with a project as well as the expectation of great success. Many times potential grant seekers are too optimistic with their business plans and they omit, not intentionally, the downside to their proposal.

It is important for any business plan for grant funding to include any unexpected cost in materials, labor, marketing, and loss of revenue due to delays. Whether you are seeking funding from the SBA, venture capitalist, or a government grant, the committees that review these plans are very knowledgeable about what the numbers mean. Underestimating the true cost of a business start up will not impress those who are determining whether to fund the project and will ultimately lead to rejection.

Another common mistake with business plans for grant funding is the unrealistic overestimation of first year gross revenue and yearly revenue growth. A business that starts with little allocation for marketing cannot expect to be flooded with business as soon as they open their doors. The same is true with projecting a 100% percent revenue increase every year for the first 5 years. It is important to do the research necessary to determine the real expectations of revenue growth.

Real risks are involved with any business venture and any oversights to these factors could put a projects funding at risk. Not disclosing potential and obvious cost overruns or inflating expected gross revenue will not only doom the business in the long term, but will also jeopardize the opportunity of any grant funding to begin the project.

There have been many individuals in the food and beverage industry, arts and entertainment, and inventors who were very knowledgeable about what would make a good business or new product, but were not necessarily good business plan writers. However many of these businesses have received the grant funding needed for their projects because they sought out help with writing their business plans and grant proposals.

To be successful in any business you must first know your own strengths and weaknesses and accept the help when and where you need it the most. For information about grant writing and business plan programs that can help you start your own business please visit www.grantsformoney.com

Business Plan Will Help You Get A Grant!

Business Plan Will Help You Get A Grant!

So you want to look into getting grant funding to start you new business do you? Well the first thing you will need is a business plan.

After you have done some research on your new business idea, you will have a better idea of the specifics of the business. Next it is worthwhile to try to articulate all those great ideas on paper, in the form of a business plan.

At this stage it is not a bad idea to carry around a small pad of paper and something to write with everywhere you go, or your favorite high-tech gadget that can record your thoughts. Your ideas will be percolating in your brain even when you are working on other things, and you never know when you will get a good idea, so be ready for it.

A business plan can help you get funding for your business, will explain how you will market your new service or product, and much more. Even before that, however, it can show the new business idea for what it is, in all its glory and warts. Then you can decide if you still want to proceed with it, make some changes to it so that success is more likely, or perhaps try again with another business idea. This paper step can save you a lot of time and frustration when you actually have to go out and provide the new service or begin to manufacture the new product for the first time.

The United States Small Business Administration has a branch called the Office of Small Business Development Centers. These centers can be found in each state, and they offer free or low-cost help with all aspects of starting a new small business, including help with writing a business plan http://www.sba.gov/sbdc/sbdcnear.html.

A business plan needs to show your methods for running the business. For example, who will be involved in running and working in the business and what expertise they bring to the endeavor. It will show how you plan to sell your product or service, what the product is exactly and what all the steps is that are necessary to manufacture it. Or, in some cases, what specific service will you offer in full detail, and money particulars focusing on what it will cost to bring the product or service to the buying public. Basically, what it will bring in terms of revenue.

Banks and charitable organizations will want to look at your business plan and see if it is a sound investment. A business plan will also offer the entrepreneur peace of mind, because you will have gone through every aspect of the business, and you know how it will work, how much you can make from it, and how much it will cost to start and continue operating. After the business plan is written, you will have a pretty clear idea if your business has a good chance of succeeding or if it won't work.

I know it seems like a lot of work, but trust me you will be glad you put in the extra effort in the end!

Tips On How To Outline Your Grant Business Plan

Geoff Spencer 2008-05-05
Title: Tips On How To Outline Your Grant Business Plan
In order to apply for a grant you will need to write up a grant proposal. If the grant request is for your business, you will also need to include a business plan. This article will take a look at some of the points which should be included in your business plan.

The executive summary

The executive summary introduces your business to the grantor. This is the single most important part of your business plan. If you are unable to capture the attention of the grantor during the summary and convince them of the viable business proposal you are presenting, then the chances are slim you will make it through the rest of the grant awarding process.

Company startup

This section of your business plan is where you must clearly explain the origins behind the company's creation and how you or your business associate came up with the idea to start your business

Your Business’ goal

In this section you will take a few paragraphs to explain your short and long term goals for your company. Your goals must be well thought out and attainable.

Biographies of management

This is where you will introduce the management team of your company and include a mini resume for each. Outline their responsibilities for your company and their roll in your company’s projected growth.

The service you plan to offer

You should be specific in this section. Explain how your business is different from all the others on the market. Define your unique selling position.

The market potential

You must convince the grantor that there is a lot of potential for growth and expansion for your business in the near and long term future.

The marketing strategy

In order for your business to be a success, you will need to have a solid marketing strategy. This is an important part of the business plan as you will need to convince the grantor you have done your research and know the plan you will implement to ensure your business endeavor is a success.

Playing And Winning The Grant Game.

Sam Weston 2006-06-10
Title: Playing And Winning The Grant Game.

Depending on what kind of business you’re planning to start, you might be able to get a home business grant. These grants are usually government-issued. They are, effectively, ‘free money’ – as long as you use the money for what you say you’re going to use it for, you don’t ever have to pay it back. Even if you don’t think you would qualify for anything, you might be able to modify your business plan subtly so that you do.

Why Would They Do That?

The money is designed to encourage specific kinds of businesses – it will always be given to you for a very specific purpose. Also, grants almost never cover the full amount of whatever it is you want to do, leaving you to make up the rest yourself. Note that not all grants come from the government -- some are given out by charities trying to further a cause, or by local community organisations.

Areas commonly covered by grants include businesses that are exporting (every government wants exports to be more than imports), businesses that will provide training to their employees, businesses that are doing useful research and businesses that are providing services and jobs in places that are candidates for 'regeneration'. You may also be able to find extra support for environmentally-friendly businesses, and if you're a woman or a member of an ethnic minority then that could qualify you for a grant too.

Training Grants.

Grants for training are some of the best ones out there -- if you're planning to have any staff, you should really look into them. Basically, you get a grant towards the cost of sending some of your employees on a training course. This is good for you, as you can train your employees more cheaply, and they'll do a better job afterwards. It's good for them, as they learn new skills or improve the ones they have and improve their career prospects for the future. Finally, at least in theory, it's good for the economy, as there will be a greater diversity of skills available in the job market.

Research Grants.

If your business is trying to solve a problem or develop an invention, you might be eligible for a research grant. This can be especially helpful for covering the costs of things like patent applications. Watch out, though -- application for research grants is some of the fiercest out there.

Location, Location, Location.

Whatever kind of grant you're going for, the biggest factor in whether you get it will probably be where you're based. Grants tend to be locally-focused, and especially targeted in areas that are deemed to have a lacking economy. Since you're a home business, you might even find it worth researching what is available in each area, and moving home strategically.

It's Hard to Get a Grant.

Beware of anyone who makes grants look easy. There are all sorts of ‘grant agencies’ who want to take a fee, and ‘guarantee’ that they’ll get you a grant. They won’t – as with almost all things like this, never pay up front. However tempting their offer might seem, you should be applying for the grants yourself. This will generally involve submitting your business plan plus a letter of about 1,000 words saying why you should get the grant in question -- you can't really use the same letter for each grant. Pick what you apply for carefully, as it's a waste of time to apply when you don't meet the criteria properly.

If you want to make sure you're applying correctly, the best thing to do is to phone up the organisation offering the grant -- they'll usually be eager to offer help and advice. Still, don't be upset if you don't get chosen, as it might just be that there were more qualifying candidates than there was money.

Other Benefits.

Any grant you get is likely to bring you to the attention of some kind of agency or organisation who want to help you in other ways too. They might help you get onto courses if you're lacking any business skills, or even provide a mentor to guide you. You might think it all sounds a little silly, but believe me, when you run a home business you need all the help you can get.

Is Product Recommendation Help in your Business ?

Randy Swanston 2007-12-19
Title: Is Product Recommendation Help in your Business ?

Many marketers know that product recommendation is one of the most effective ways in promoting a certain product. If the customers or visitors trust you enough, then they will definitely trust your recommendations. Be very careful in using this approach, though. If you start promoting everything by recommendation, your credibility will actually wear thin. This is seen especially
when recommendations are seemingly exaggerated and without much merit.

Furthermore, if your visitors are really interested in what you are offering, they will be more than delighted to learn what is good about
the product, what is not so good, and how the product will benefit them. If possible, have recommendations of products that you have 100% confidence in. Test the product support before you begin to ensure that the people you are referring it to would not be left high and dry when a problem suddenly arouse.

When you are recommending a certain product, there are some things to remember on how to make it work effectively and for your advantage.

Sound like the true and leading expert in your field. And remember; prospects are not stupid. They are actually turning to experts and may already know the things that you know. If you
back up your claims with hard facts and data, they would gladly put down hundreds, or even thousands worth of money to your promotions. But if you don’t, they are smart enough to try and look at your competitors and what they are offering. While
recommending a product, it is also important that you give out promotional freebies. People are already familiar with the concept of offering freebies to promoting your won products. But very few people do this to promote affiliate products. Try to offer freebies that can promote or even have some information about your products or services.

In affiliate marketing, there are many ways in which you can increase your earnings and maintain the account that you have worked so hard for already. Most of the techniques and tactics can be learned easily. No need to go anywhere and any further. They are available online, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Before you add recommendations to your product, it is given that you should try and test the product and support. Do not run the risk of promoting junk products and services. Just think how long it took you to build credibility and trust among your visitors. All that will take to destroy it is one big mistake on your part.

Have a look at your affiliate market and look at the strategies you are using. You may not be focusing on the recommendations that your products need to have. You plan of action is sometimes not the only thing that is making your program works.Try product recommendation and be among those few who have proven its worth.

Is it Possible to Get a Government Grant to Start a Business?

Court Tuttle 2007-10-16
Title: Is it Possible to Get a Government Grant to Start a Business?

When starting a business, the money you need to get it started, and the money you will need to make it work is going to be difficult to come by. Starting out on your own, especially with no entrepreneur experience in the past, will make it even more difficult to get the show on the road. Still, you perhaps have always had the dream of running your own business and becoming your own boss, and you are willing to work for it.

Even though you are committed to getting your business on its feet, you are not quite sure you want to wait for several years to start your business, which would probably be how long it would take you to accumulate the money you would need, and still live. Saving money is so difficult because there is always a need for it and a temptation to take it out of savings and spend it on other things that you may need immediately for emergencies. Still, it may not be such a bad idea.

Perhaps, in your wonderment about how you will get the money you need to start your business, you have considered the government grants you have heard advertised on the TV. Well, as glamorous and as easy as it sounds, getting a government grant for a small business is nearly impossible, especially if you are starting out with nothing. Applying for these types of free money offers can also cost you money, even if you do not get the grant itself.

When applying for a grant, there are often fees attached to that application. Like paying for a book that will give you all the information you need to get a government grant, and paying people money because they tell you that it is normal for them to charge you for filling out an application. Things like this hardly ever work, and those who do get the grant have to go through a lot of extra expenses and a lot of difficult obstacles before they even get the money.

Getting a grant to start a business is extremely difficult, almost to the point where it is not even worth it. It can also take you an extremely long time to apply for all these grants, and in the end, you could very likely end up with nothing in the end anyway. In all honesty, the alternatives to applying for government grants are much simpler and more reliable. At least, if you save your money or take out a loan, you know you are actually going to get the money rather than just hoping on a shot in the dark.

In all reality, the best way you can get the money you need is by saving it up yourself. If you can't stand to wait that long, get a small business loan. They're much easier to get and, though free money would've been nice, saving up or getting a loan will give you the satisfaction of paying for your business all by yourself.
